I end up carrying multiple weapons too.
I've watched too many combats go by where a character is unable to do anything constructive if they focus too much on one thing to the exclusion of everything else.

Based on Fiona's last post and her actions in the last undead battle, if she doesn't post, I would guess that she will pass her turn shivering and being lost in memories.
Thought?
Tereze Amnell
|
No. Honestly was not intended to be.
I love her posts, just trying to be efficient, so we don't wait for days while she is away from the Internet.
But you might be seeing just a tad bit of my work frustration coming through in how abrupt I was.

I'd be fine with someone posting for Fiona. Tereze, I think your suggestion would probably fit well with Fiona's responses in the past.

Steph, how high are those pedestals?
Is it a climb check to get up on one, or would it just be considered difficult terrain squares?
Also would I get the higher ground bonus for being on one?

They're about a foot high. Not high enough to get the higher ground bonus, but the empty pedestals are low enough to just step onto and not count as difficult terrain.
I placed red dots on the map, to show where the animated corpses were originally located. The pedestals are empty there.

No issues here.
We are going to be at this for a while, it will be important to have a character you are happy with.
It even looks legal per the Society rules if you do it between adventures.
Vicard Inck

I really like the Investigator (I adore skills) but Society play doesn't provide much of an opprontuinty for that to shine. I really like 'crawly' kinds of games, just Vicard isn't built for that.
Am I over-reacting by considering even changing classes?
Urbar Anden

Have had the same before.I didn't change though, was too late for me. I still love the character but gameplay wise he isn't the best. What did you have in mind?

Not sure. Changing classes is a big choice, will impact the party. We have a good balance, I hate to mess it up.
We have two excellent front liners, although Urbar likes to get knocked out alot!
And then we have some very useful casters, Ery and Tereze. Fiona is a caster but she hasn't come into her own yet....
So not sure.

If you wanted to stay skill focused you could try out the unchained Rogue.
You will have plenty of flankers in this party to make Sneak Attack Viable.
Oh and in case you didn't figure it out from my feats, I'm trying out the whole summon monster thing, so I mean we will have LOTS of flankers in not too long.
Plus I would hope you get a chance for skills to shine. I rather enjoyed the whole sequence with the boxes last game. And you were great that whole scene.
We just have been on an undead zombie/skeleton run lately and those are a pain for anyone that isn't set up for them.

While I can't speak for Season 0, I have had lots of opportunities for my PFS investigator to ply their skills. Early on, investigators are not much good in combat unless you make a strength based investigator. The truck with investigators is to put at least 1 rank in every knowledge skill ASAP. I would recommend looking into picking up a few different weapons to get around the DR issue. Right now you can always use Aid Another in combat with flanking, that grants your buddy +4 to attack.
Each class really excels at something, and not others. For example, Gwen is awesome in combat, but you put her in a social based scenario and I'm fudge creek! Vicard is awesome with skills and will always be. He will be better in combat, but it does take time. As Tereze pointed out, Vicard was essential for the last scenario; he solved several of the puzzle boxes AND he picked the loc on the dot that Urbar and Gwen couldn't kick in. That combat could have turned out very badly if you hadn't picked the lock.
I want you to feel free to play whatever you want, Vic, but I think you will really like the investigator if you just give it sometime.
...I hate typing on my phone... Too many mistakes for me to fix right now, but you get the idea! Lol

Gonna do my next level as oracle...it's gonna rock.

I'll be doing Bones Mastery with the Haunted Curse. This may change down the road, but it opens ALL the doors for this character, and I imagine Legs too, down that red lit road.
Urbar Anden

@Ery
I have a bones oracle. Really fun character to play.
The shaman might also be a very nice option instead of the oracle. I made one recently and I love playing it. It has a ton of options combining oracle and witch.
@Vicard
We indeed have a very balanced party and your skills are very useful, already proven. You could also instead of a class change pick something you would really like as an addition to Vicard. You could pick another class and branch out a little more. Pathfinder doesn't really allow multi classing when looking at optimising but optimizing does make the characters a bit boring in the end in my opinion. The rogue idea will still give you the some skill, a lot more than any other class, and gives you some more combat options.
Tereze Amnell
|
@Ery.... Ok we might want to talk about this just to be sure I'm not stomping on your fun.
Tereze is as you might be able to tell pretty anti undead. The past couple adventures haven't helped that at all. While she's too kind of a person to take direct action against you, those two characters are generating quite a bit of static....
That may come out in passive aggressive behavior at some points, like say a channel energy that targets our foes but "accidentally"also catches your abominations to life. ;)
Assuming it doesn't happen often, will that be "not fun" for you?
If so let me know and I'll adjust my thinking for this character before it becomes a problem.
Oh and how does bone oracle help you get in someone pants?
Besides of course the obvious innuendo....
Just wondering as I've never seen a sorcerer/oracle build before.
Eryzule, Lord of Tea
|
It's simply flavor. He's going to be a priest of Calestria after all. Figured I'd duel the Oracle and Sorc and see what happens.
A little support and crazy for everyone.
As for you blasting my abominations, don't worry. Like you summons they would simply be there as extras. meant to distract and dance and make tea. ALL THE TEA!
Urbar Anden
|
Fun thing... Sabel has a tea drinking skeleton :P Second thing I did with the summon was drink tea with him! The first thing was flyering...
Tereze Amnell

Monkeys and apes. And don't forget madmen/maybe a crude trap or two.
We probably hit all the undead.
Urbar Anden
|
Never looked into them actually. Isn't that a ranger thing?
Gwendallyn
|
Vic, do you mean allowing PCs to use traps? Or do you mean use them against the party? Either way, the answer is yes. There will be plenty of traps for you to disable along the way.

Some one wanna pose as Fiona?
| StephNyan |
Previously I intended to give everyone, give or take, 24 hours and then ask someone else to post for the absent player. To preserve the pace better I'll change this a bit:
If it's been 28 hours since a character was up and the player's not made a post, the other players are free to make a post for the player.
Eryzule, Lord of Tea

k posted
Tereze Amnell

Hang on before we go forward, what is the status of everyone's hit points?
Did I miss a heal someplace or are some of us still disabled?
I would strongly prefer we don't start the next room with anyone below half HP.

Im fine. Think Urbar and Vicard are/were the only ones hurting...not sure how they are now.

Very curious ^^ Especially after such a special startup.
| StephNyan |
So was I hit or not GM? I am unclear.
Also, we took these guys apart. I think undead are our only weakness.
I rolled 17, so you were hit. Though I should've made that a bit more clear in the post itself. Something like this would've been better:
"The drooling madman slams into Vicard and hurts him, but Vicard makes use of the situation and causes the enemy to lose balance."
It's the tactic these guys employ that makes them rather easy targets in the first round. And the fact they were just office workers influenced by the mist, instead of armored guards.
Eryzule, Lord of Tea

Some times its just the most simplistic of actions that make the greatest change. Or, one could go through the dance of seduction, alcohol and suggestion. A little more complex but just as fantastic.
Eryzule, Lord of Tea

Perhaps you should redo your action. My step in for you was lack luster.

Varghouls...awesome sauce. Anyway, it was Tereze that was kissed.
