I also quite enjoyed the shirt thing, Urbar.

Steph, I think I messed up my last "combat" post in which Gwen slammed Nessian. For some reason I was thinking once I had successfully "pinned" Nessian that I could maintain the pin and do damage as part of the grapple; however, after looking at the grappling rules again I believe to keep an opponent pinned is the only action I can do as part of maintaining the grapple. Now once I get Greater Grapple and my grapple action can be maintained as a Move action, then I can do both. Sorry for the mistake!

@Ery: I can provide you with the date the scenario claims it starts, but we're not playing the scenarios in order. If you check the Campaign Info thread you can view the order. I'd suggest you receive the instructions for your next mission 1 in-game week after ending Silent Tide.

@Vicard: It's over! I'll get the chronicle sheets out soon. As a matter of fact, I'm working on them now.

@Gwen: Can happen. Thanks for letting me know! :)

Below are links to your chronicle sheets. Those who are new to PFS, be aware that all loot and money gained in-game is gone. You get the gold listed on your chronicle sheet and 2 prestige points*. Your chronicle sheet also unlocks several items that you may buy regardless of your fame*, which are listed on the sheet itself.

Eryzule
Fiona
Gwendallyn
Tereze
Urbar
Vicard

I love the mix of your characters' personalities and your writing styles. Some of you write posts that give an in-depth view about the character they're playing, some write beautiful descriptions in their posts, some add a lot of humor... I enjoy reading all of your posts and I'm glad I ended up with such a great party for this season run!

If by dysfunctional you mean you worry about the party's balance:
Keep in mind season 0 was written for 4 players, not 6. I could've easily created a properly balanced party with 4 members from your submissions, but instead I decided to do that and add 2 more members. You've got all a party needs and a bit extra.

Hey guys, since we are going to be together for the long haul what do you all think about using our first 2 PPs to pick up a variety of wands that will be useful to us? Those of us who can cast CLW could pick up one while the rest can snag some nice utility wands?

Endure Elements is always a good one to have. What are your thoughts on some others?

True, we don't all have to use our PPs on wands. If there if something else you guys had already decided to do with your PPs, then feel free to disregard my message! :)

Gwen will either pick up a Wand of CLW with hers, or an Endure Elements depending on what the group would prefer. Also, I picked up a few items which I added to Gwen's character sheet. Trying to decide if there's anything else she may need...

No problem, Tereze. Well, I know I've been told that your PP purchases aren't restricted by your Fame score; however, I cannot seem to find that clause in the Guide about Prestige purchases not being excluded from that rule.

I have done it before with characters and it's been legal, but I just cannot find that actual rule... Basically you can use your two Prestige Points to make a purchase up to 750gp which is the exact cost of any 1st level spell wand.

Like Gwen mentioned, PP purchases aren't bound to Fame. I can't find the reference either, but I know for 100% sure it's true.

The guide states "a character’s Prestige Points represent what her faction owes her in terms of favors, boons, and rewards." So if you spend 2 PP on a wand of CLW, you may just be asking someone you know within the faction "Hey dude, I need a healing wand. Could you maybe fetch one for me from the stocks?" and he'd be like "Yeah dude, totally. I owe you, after all!"

Urbar Anden wrote:

You're actually able to use wands of CLW and more. Even if you can't use spells yet, you can freely use wands with spells that are on the ranger's spell list:

"Spell trigger activation is similar to spell completion, but it's even simpler. No gestures or spell finishing is needed, just a special knowledge of spellcasting that an appropriate character would know, and a single word that must be spoken. Spell trigger items can be used by anyone whose class can cast the corresponding spell. This is the case even for a character who can't actually cast spells, such as a 3rd-level paladin. The user must still determine what spell is stored in the item before she can activate it. Activating a spell trigger item is a standard action and does not provoke attacks of opportunity."

-----------------------------------

I always give my PFS characters a healing wand, because I don't like to exhaust someone else's spells or wand charges. There's always someone who can use the wand for me, if my character can't use it. That said, you're going to be a party for a long time. It shouldn't be a problem if not everyone (immediately?) has a personal healing wand. So it may worthwhile to check out this thread, which mentions some other neat items you can get with 2 PP. I think Urbar will like the wand of lead blades.

Exactly! Just because you, personally, cannot use a specific wand... the likelihood is that someone in the party will be able. Even though Gwen cannot use wands, nor will be every be able to, I still would like to pick one up for the party to use.

That being said... do you guys have a preference on which wand I could purchase for Gwen?

Steph, are there faction missions for this one?

Here you go:

Dark Archive:
Tender Supplicant,

You must prove yourself worthy of bliss: something strange is afoot at the Blakros Museum. Evil spirits vex the place and foul mists run its corridors driving men mad. Driving men mad is a deep interest of mine, as you well know. Find the source of this infestation of power and bring me a sample of it, so I might study it. Do this and you shall know Hell’s most lustful delights.

Deeply Yours,
Paracountess Zarta Dralneen

Scarab Sages & Grand Lodge:
Most Worthy One,

The Ruby Prince loves his subjects as you well know, but even he has enemies among Osirion’s greatest families. The Matl family has long proven a thorn in his side, and indeed their duplicitous brood has plagued our great nation for centuries, ever since Lakma the Usurper claimed control over the family’s destiny. Thankfully the arm of history is long reaching, and we at court have long suspected Lakma’s treachery.

The true ancestor of the Matl family was one Taltuma-Matl, a wise servant of the pharaohs. His true will was never discovered, and in it he most likely names a distant cousin as the beneficiary of his family’s wealth and honors (knowing full well his closer kin, Lakma, was nothing but a vile self-serving wretch). It has come to our attention that Taltuma’s remains are housed at the Blakros Museum, beyond our reach. We believe his last will was interred with him. Find it. If we can prove Lakma had no legitimate claim to his family’s holdings, we can embarrass his descendants at court who vex the Ruby Prince, thus solidifying his power and perhaps even paving our way to glory.

In Unfathomable Gratitude,
Amenopheus, The Sapphire Sage

Sovereign Court:
Honored Servant of the Empire,

This Blakros Museum is possessed of a number of interesting pieces. Weapons are fine, gold is always amusing, but me, I am more intrigued by masks—the more exotic the better. They can prove most useful, especially with so many fascinating balls and parties approaching. Collect for me at least four masks unlike any to be worn by other dilettantes of Oppara this season. Do this and you shall bask in the beneficent radiance of my gratitude.

Honorably,
Baron Jacquo Dalsine

Liberty’s Edge & Silver Crusade:
Firebrand of Freedom,

You light the way to a better age with your continued bravery. I can’t express enough how grateful our nation is for your peerless service. We once more have desperate need of your talents. An agent of ours is in peril. His name is Sheg Wraithbane, a half-orc adventurer of note who was keeping tabs on the Blakros Museum for us, posing as a nightwatchman. We fear for his safety. A strange curse has befallen the place and we’ve no word from him.

Find him. If he lives, bring him safely from that accursed place. If he has perished, then you must bring his collection of keys to me immediately. He wears them on a ring on his belt. I would trust this task to no other. May your sword arm know no equal, may your wits prove thrice as fast as your foes.

Sincerely Yours,
Captain Colson Maldris

The Exchange:
Golden Servant of Qadira,

We are, as ever, interested in the ebb and flow of great treasures. The Blakros Museum in Absalom houses some of the world’s most interesting oddities and trades them freely with the world at large. Our satrap would know where these treasures flow to and at what cost.

As you pursue whatever dust devil of foolishness the Pathfinder Society would have you chase in Blakros, be sure to keep an eye out for the museum’s accounts and records of transactions. Retrieve them for me and your glory will know no bounds.

A Fellow Servant of the Satrap,
Pasha Muhlia Al-Jakri

This may be one of those situations where you want to throw an inspiration roll onto your saving throw, Vicard. Not telling you what to do, just making a suggestion from someone who has a 3rd level PFS investigator. I find that I always have all, or most, of my inspiration points leftover at the end of the scenario.

I find a lot of the DCs in PFS are higher than 13, even at 1st level.

The fairly short scenarios in PFS actually make great opportunities for classes with expendable resources. The "adventuring days" so to speak are relatively short and I typically will try to save one for the "boss fight", but for the in between times when you think your roll is pretty low, those are perfect opportunities to use those resources.

Investigators are perfect examples with Inspiration. I've only one time used an Inspiration point to affect a skill roll, because the most used skills (other than Perception) are typically knowledge skills which are pointless to use unless you are trained in. This is doubly so for the investigator as you get a free +1d6 to all trained knowledge skills. I find the best use for your Inspiration is to affect low ST rolls. Those are the most vital ones to succeed at.

Since you've all taken preparations against the mist or made the save required to be safe, here's what it would've done to you if you'd breathed it in:

Any living humanoid, giant, or monstrous humanoid who fails his DC 12 Will save against the mist’s corrupting influence degenerates into a raving madman, little more than a bloodthirsty animal. Those who make their saves are immune to the mist’s influence for 24 hours. Those who fail gain the Mist-Tainted Template: their Intelligence and Charisma are both reduced to 6, they gain a +2 to their Strength and Dexterity, they become immune to fear, they gain a +10 to Climb checks (and a climb speed of 20 feet), they gain a +5 to Jump, Hide, and Move Silently, and they also gain a slam attack (1d4 for Medium creatures). This template adds +1 CR to the base creature.

A remove curse, break enchantment, or similar magic purges the evil vapors, removes the template, and negates the Tik Taan’s influence. In addition, if a Mist-Tainted creature is knocked unconscious, the polluting vapors leave its body and they return to normal. Once purged or upon regaining consciousness, Mist-Tainted creatures are immune to the mist’s effects for 24 hours.

That's why I always try to have different weapons to deal with the "regular" DR.
