Narshala goes to maul the dragon but its thick scaly hide rebuffs all her attacks! Meanwhile the stunned gargoyle shakes itself out of its stupor as its remaining companion moves into position and summons another spiritual weapon which goes for the helpless witch!
Spiritual weapon (Cyan): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

![]() |

Ok, so with updating the damage tallies from the earlier attacks and also the latest from the Cyan spiritual weapon, I have Agata at all temp hp lost and 13 points of real damage, and defending bone has used only 5 points and has 45 remaining (not sure what that 5 was from, but that's what my records show).

![]() |

That gargoyle right next to you attempting to separate your limbs from your body?

Hugo watches anxiously as the axes and monsters try to dismember Agata with their attacks.
Agata, you seem to be running a deficit in the exchange. Shall I even the count? I am not at all fond of the large brute beyond the wall.
He will quickly summon an old inevitable ally.
Sacred summons Zelekhut to the north.
Servant of Abadar. Render that beast ineffective.
The zelekhut will appear, flying 10' up and casts hold monster on the Feranth(?) or whatever it is...then float 5' down (5' off ground)
DC18 Will. It has 10' reach and will use on the gargoyles if needed
Hugo will move north with his blade and try to distract the gargoyle from its business with Agata.
It is unwise to pick on the elderly, heathen!

Feranth -
Feranth Will: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
The Feranth huffs, looks at the thing trying to distract it from its meal and decides its not worth the effort. Too far, too much metal. The fleshy stuff is much better to eat. Nonplussed by the wall before it, it makes to dive through it.
Feranth Will vs Illusion: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Noting absent-mindedly that the wall is not real as it dives through as if it were burrowing, it goes to eat Agata. Had it failed, I would have given it a miss chance, as if it were buried underneath a surface and making attacks.
Bite, PA: 1d20 + 25 - 5 ⇒ (11) + 25 - 5 = 31
Damage: 2d6 + 8 + 10 ⇒ (2, 3) + 8 + 10 = 23
Claw #1, PA: 1d20 + 25 - 5 ⇒ (12) + 25 - 5 = 32
Damage: 1d8 + 8 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 10 = 26
Claw #2, PA: 1d20 + 25 - 5 ⇒ (11) + 25 - 5 = 31
Damage: 1d8 + 8 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 10 = 20
Gore, PA: 1d20 + 25 - 5 ⇒ (20) + 25 - 5 = 40
Damage: 2d6 + 8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 5) + 8 + 10 = 24
Gore, PA (Critical Confirmation): 1d20 + 25 - 5 ⇒ (4) + 25 - 5 = 24
Damage: 2d6 + 8 + 10 ⇒ (4, 3) + 8 + 10 = 25
We choose not to push you away. By my account, 103 points of damage? Defensing bone take 15, and might have just saved your life.
Agata recovers from her stun to a world of pain as the creature savages her, taking a big bite out of her thigh.

![]() |

Unfortunately the bites and claws both go through defending bone as its DR5/bludgeoning and bites are all three while claws are slashing and bludgeoning.

![]() |

It's always been my understanding that in order to disbelief an illusion you need to interact with it (i.e. spend a move action), which would prevent the Feranth from full-attacking (indeed that was the intent of the creating the wall in the first place - I didn't have much hope that it would actually stop the thing). No?
Will hold off on Sweet Mawd's action until I know your ruling.
And yes, defending bone won't apply, so if the full attack stands it will be 118 points of damage, which will put Agata at -9 (she was at 109 before this attack).

![]() |

Whelp, looks like I got some 3.5 in my Pathfinder. You are correct, and as a unforeseen consequence I'm going to have to double check my dash-1. With regards to the illusion; it wasn't really attempting to disbelieve because it didn't care about a solid wall like the wall you chose to put up. It knows where you are thanks to one of its senses, and figured "I'll just burrow my way through this here wall of stone". Now it is attacking you through the wall, in so doing interacting with it, and I need to resolve whether or not it still believes there is something there, because in that case, you get a 50% miss chance. Now if this were a gargoyle, or a creature that doesn't burrow through the decks of this here starship, or if you had generated a wall that looked dangerous (like a wall of blades) or a creature that looked dangerous, or something other than a wall of stone/metal, there would have a different outcome indeed. However, you made the decisions you thought best at the time, and this is just an unfortunate outcome.

![]() |

Ok, but I'm unclear what the result of this is for me? The feranth wasn't able to make a full attack and will have to repost his turn? Or his full attack still stands but will have 50% miss chances rolled? Or something else? Thanks and no rush to answer, just wasn't sure if there was more coming or not.

![]() |

I'll grant you a 50% miss chance on the bite, as that was the first blow to determine the actual reality of the wall, irrespective of it caring or not if it was real.
Miss? (High is terrible for Agata): 1d100 ⇒ 96
Looks like you are at -9 and unconscious.

![]() |

Hugo will spend a divine interference in the critical to Agata
reroll the attack at -2

![]() |

That was to reroll the nat-20 on the gore, just to be clear.
Converting his ghostbane dirge.
Agata, one might think your age or wisdom would preclude you from playing with such beasts.

![]() |

Nalshene hears a crunch behind her as poor Agata is attacked by the Feranth. Unfortunately, there's nothing she can do to help her, as the dragon must be dealt with. She flies forward on her little fey wings, and touches a rod on her belt. Then she sends a blast of colorful energy at the dragon.
Casting Quickened Persistent Tenebrous color spray at the dragon, ignoring Urko's pet tiger. DC 25 Will save, treated as -11 hit dice.spell resistance: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32
Then she'll cast a disintegrate on the dragon. DC 26 Fortitude save to take only damage: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 2, 1, 4) = 14, otherwise it takes damage: 32d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 6, 4, 1, 5, 4, 5, 1, 4, 6, 1, 6, 3, 3, 2, 4, 6, 4, 6, 5, 4, 2, 4, 6, 4, 2, 2, 6, 2, 1) = 116 spell resistance: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (13) + 16 = 29

Sweet Mawd |

If Hugo's Divine Interference results in Agata still being conscious (i.e. the Gore not being a crit), then Sweet Mawd will delay until just after Agata's turn. But since the Feranth has already disbelieved the Silent Image wall, she will cease concentrating on it, causing it to disappear.

But often times, that is all that is needed as Agata remains conscious, albeit in a tremendous amount of pain. Nalshene, please make that DC 26 Fortitude save? This isn't even me being polite. Please make it.
Gonna wait to see how that turned out before taking the Dragon's turn.

![]() |

By my count Agata has 106 dmg, not 101, leaving her with 16 left from her base of 122. Thanks, Hugo!

![]() |

Urko cannot fail that spellcraft check.
Spells and spell-like effects targeted on you are turned back upon the original caster. The abjuration turns only spells that have you as a target. Effect and area spells are not affected. Spell turning also fails to stop touch range spells.
I suppose you could read that as meaning only melee touch rather than ranged

![]() |

They are referring to spells with a range of touch, like an Inflict Moderate Wounds. Disintegration has a range of medium, so this effect applies.

![]() |

Turns out after consultation with another GM that I am mistaken, but for another reason. I'll post an update later tonight.

There we go. VC Nalshene does not need to make her own ridonculous save, and assuming noone can fail the check the dragon just cast quickened True Strike. Let the good times roll.

Is Artemis' AC as listed in her header accounting for all current buffs?

![]() |

Definitely. You may thank Iammars for those of you who know her.

Artemis, Animal Companion |

Yes, accounting for all buffs Artemis currently has an AC of 48. Did the dragon cast quickened true strike or something for extra bonus on the bite attack? Looking at the numbers you seem to have added a -7 power attack penalty only to the bite. Once you use PA it applies to all of your attacks until the start of your next turn. Assuming it should also apply to all of the others only the bite attack then hits. She currently has DR10/chaotic, I assume the dragon doesn't have the chaotic subtype so she takes 31 damage

![]() |

Agata gazes up at the Feranth looming above her and shouts a quick warning to her companions: "It ain't resistant nor immune to nuthin', thanks be t' Desna, but its got a roar what's terrible to hear, an' it kin charge even when it's burrowin'!"
With a quick magical word, Agata attempts to give the creature some bad luck.

Artemis, Animal Companion |

Feranth - Staggered till round 4 on beginning of its turn.
Staggered for how long?: 1d4 ⇒ 1
The gargoyle closest to the Inevitable flies up closer and attacks relentlessly, as Narshala's claws hit, but do not pierce the dragon's hide.

And for his efforts, does not end up with much. The other gargoyle, facing Marduk, does the same.

Apparently, a life in service to Unity does not prepare one for an actual fight. However, its spiritual weapon goes down upon Agata again.

It is only after taking the measure of the gargoyle with its first blow that the Zelekut manages to hit his opponent, trip it down to the ground as VC Hugo heals all of Agata's wounds.
The feranth, still shivering after its stint in ice, unleashes a mighty roar.
I need a DC 24 Fortitude save from Agata and Sweet Maud.

Seeing several of her spells seemingly bouncing off of the dragon's spell resistance, Nalshene decides to concentrate heavily on her next spell, pulling out some magical components that will allow the spell to hit a bit harder.
Nalshene casts another Quickened Tenebrous Persistent color spray, using her last charge from her Selective rod and also tossing a bit of dweomer's essence in the air to try to get it past the dragon's SR. The dragon gets a DC25 Will save against it. SR check: 1d20 + 16 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 16 + 5 = 40. Then she begins casting greater shadow conjuration and plans to bring into being a Huge black pudding on the ceiling above the dragon, but this will appear at the start of her next turn.

Agata suddenly feels much much better. Thanks, Hugo!
Fort DC 24, 4 leaf clover: 1d20 + 16 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 16 + 3 = 28 Whew!
@GM, note that the Feranth is still ill-omened: it needs to roll twice and take the worse result for its next 3 d20 rolls.

Don't forget if you have blessings bonus on attacks, AC etc

but this will appear at the start of her next turn.[/ooc]
Shadow conjuration always has a casting time of a standard action, it doesnt inherit the casting time of the spell you are duplicating.

Ah, thank you! I don't often use it for summoning spells. In that case, the Black Pudding appears on the ceiling (a legal place for it to start since it has the suction ability), and promptly drops on the dragon's head, as it's the closest thing to attack. The dragon gets a DC30 Will save to disbelieve, in which case it's only 60% real.
black pudding slam: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3) + 4 = 11 plus acid: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8

Sorry I haven't been able to update, but things have kicked up a notch and things will be hectic for the next week. Anyway, Nalshene could you walk me through how you are summoning a black pudding? I took a look at the summon monster list and cannot find that particular monster listed. I understand that I must be missing something, but I do not have the time to put in my own research. :(

I assume it is duplicating Conjure Black Pudding from Ultimate Magic.
