@Agata: Hard to tell. But you would know if you spell didn't go through the SR. So in this case Hugo would know that his spell didn't break through the resistance on yellow.
@Marduk: Yes, they clearly have a reach of at least 10 feet. Extendo arms, GO!

![]() |

Welp, let's start with a swift action.
Marduk conjures another quick lance of flames across whatever flesh remains on the abominations.
SR vs Red: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (8) + 17 = 25
Quickened Burning Arc vs Red (reflex 18 for half): 10d6 + 26 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 4, 5, 6, 4, 5, 2, 3) + 26 = 69
SR vs Blue: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
Secondary Target vs Blue (reflex 16 for half): 5d6 + 16 ⇒ (5, 1, 2, 2, 2) + 16 = 28
SR vs Green: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
Secondary Target vs Blue (reflex 16 for half): 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 2) + 10 = 17
Normal actions pending. I'm hoping this drops the red one at least.

![]() |

@GM, did Miranda's AoO blind the kyton and if so, does that affect the attacks on Agata? Agata will not bother with taking an AoO herself.

It did not. On my phone, will update tomorrow hopefully.

...Ok then.
Marduk's quickened fireblast doesn't quite hit the kyton glistening with red gore, leaving him alive and ... crispy. And for some reason, the foaming, unconscious nurse manages to twist to the side (with a g%~+*+n nat 20), only taking superficial burns.

![]() |

Bah! Just die already.
Marduk smashes the smoldering red-tinted kyton before getting some distance from its pair.

The red kyton goes down, unable to keep up with the damage inflicted, as from around the corner appears a welcome sight! Hugo has finally come to aid Marduk, as the blue-tinged kyton takes his attack of opportunity and hits.
Edited for DR and the missed AoO.

Unfortunately you need +5 to overcome alignment DR and, if its only from greater magic weapon, then sadly it only counts as magic. GMW doesn't give you any other DR penetrating effects unfortunately.

![]() |

Ah. Well if nothing else that much damage should put him down for a while.

![]() |

Returning to their regular sizes Urko looks down at the remaining Kyton.
You could have fled, now it is too late...
With that he breaks off from him and flies down to Artemis. Leaping into the saddle he casts another spell and then promptly leaps off. Both grow distinctly more furry, their ears lengthen to points and their canine teeth grow longer and sharper.
Get him girl he whispers into her ear.
Urko takes a move action to fly down to Artemis (provoking), a free action to leap into the saddle (he cannot fail the DC20 ride), a standard to spell share an Aspect of the Wolf on both of them (8 minutes each) and then another free action to leap out of the saddle and command her to attack. He has to be mounted to spell share between them due to the Horsemasters Saddle only working while riding the mount.
I will update the buff list and stat lines.

Soon enough, the creature that fled into the garden-lie area to the west emerges back, seemingly followed by other plant-like creatures. Up above, the remaining android/kyton is unable to get out of the way of Narshala's quick moves, and finds itself trapped between her fangs.
Elsewhere, the upright surgeon casts a spell, stomps over to Marduk giggling wetly, and lays a hand upon it's fallen companion and its wounds seem to close.
Yet elsewhere, of the three facing off against Venture Captain Victor, Agata, Sweet Maud and Miranda, the one that was stunned slowly shakes out of it's state as it snaps it's jaws hungrily.

![]() |

I think you meant Artemis for the upper level kyton. Have the androids cleared the central area now?

"Meat" snarls the second, yellow pus dripping from scabs upon him. "I'll wear her skin" cackles the last one, purple veins standing stark against his skin.
Meanwhile, the shouting kyton's voice takes on a weary, ecstatic note as the bones in it's body crumple to pieces.

Nalshene's shadow replica of the Daylight spell proves to be powerful enough to counter the darkness as the origin of the darkness, another gruesome-looking kyton wearing what appear to be white, tattered clothes, clothes that might have looked prim and proper on someone else, a long time ago. Said kyton trudges towards Nalshene and Narshala and stares Narshala down.
I need a Will save from Narshala, and both of you will need to give me an additional Will save at the beginning of your turn.

Yeesh, I guess that's what we get for splitting up. Hopefully someone has raise dead and restoration prepped. :-(
EDIT: I do see breath of life on Hugo's sheet, so hopefully if others in the same room can give him an opening, he can cast that on her.

Hugo has breath of life but also can try to negate the crit with divine intervention- reroll that attack. Unless she is so far negative it would not matter .

Wowza. Ok, it's getting pretty interesting. And yes, splitting up probably not a good idea for a weak l'il caster like Agata. Though it's also my own fault for staying in range - I just wanted to make sure the evil eye stuck, so needed to cackle when one of them made its save.
More to post when I have a minute, but for now, just fyi, Agata's AC is so low (20) that there's not much in using Divine Interference against the crit confirmation roll - it would be more likely to make a difference against the initial crit threat roll, if the GM will allow that. (And for the same reason, not much reason to use a level 4 spell, since the minus on the roll won't matter much, really just the reroll to avoid the threat in the first place).

![]() |

Correct! Not the crit confirm roll - but the crit attack (19) itself. I figure it will still hit - but 90% chance it may not crit.
Which could save 22-30 damage. She may not even be dead...or barely dead. :)

Wait a tic. I thought Hugo was up north with Marduk?
Edit: I just realized shenanigans are afoot.
Realizing that his companion's arrival is a bit too timely, Marduk moves quickly to avoid being surrounded. He conjures another casual arc of flames to cover his retreat to the room's entrance.
Quickened burning arc. Move action to move which will provoke again. Standard action will depend on how 'Hugo' reacts to the fire damage.
SR vs Blue: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (16) + 17 = 33
Quickened Burning Arc vs Red (reflex 18 for half): 10d6 + 26 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 2, 6, 5, 3, 4, 2, 6) + 26 = 61
SR vs 'Hugo': 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (11) + 17 = 28
Secondary Target vs Blue (reflex 16 for half): 5d6 + 16 ⇒ (2, 6, 1, 2, 4) + 16 = 31
SR vs Red: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Secondary Target vs Blue (reflex 16 for half): 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (5, 5) + 10 = 20

When Agata drops below 0 hp, as an Immediate Action she uses a Chronicle boon (Wish for Rescue) which heals her boon healing: 3d8 + 10 ⇒ (3, 4, 7) + 10 = 24. Depending on the result of Hugo's Divine Interference, i think that puts her at either alive but unconscious, or alive but looking bad. @GM, do you need me to email you a copy of the chronicle sheet?
Btw, I've been not reading all the GM spoilers, on the assumption that they contain super secret stuff, but now I see there's no way to know that a crit even happened without looking. So, any guidelines about when we should or should not look?
Also, just to clarify, did you remember that Green was Ill Omened for 4 d20 rolls? The first of those was presumably used immediately afterwards for the save against Evil Eye, but that still leaves 3 more instances (unless they got used for something else).
Another clarifying question: Agata is 15' up (at the ceiling level). Presuming they have 10' reach, can they still hit me from 2 squares away, or would they need to move adjacent?

![]() |

And I apologize for looking too (if unintented), but figured if some major attacking happened to Agata and Hugo was "next", I could not help but look :(

Claw Attack #3, Green - Ill-Omen reroll: 1d20 + 22 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 22 - 4 = 23
Potential bleed damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Ok, so full disclosure: I totally forgot about Ill-Omen. I rerolled the attacks and I didn't get a crit on Green's first attack. That means that while Agata did drop below 0, she did not die, thus Hugo did not need to use his divine interference feat on Agata. This modifies the amount of bleed damage she was temporarily affected with (not that it mattered, in view of that boon).
@Agata: With regards to my spoilers. I don't do them with the idea that noone will look unless I specifically mention that players shouldn't look. I do them more with the idea that noone likes parsing through a bloc of rolls before getting to the meat of the matter. You are absolutely free to look at my spoilers, although to quote Lord Vader "I find your lack of faith disturbing". That said, lack of faith is warranted as I lost that Ill-Omen. Now, before I forget, could you just either link what the boon is, or like take a picture of it at some point and send it my way? Just to confirm some of the text (mostly to make sure it's vanilla healing, the type that deals with bleed effects).
@Agatha: Just to clarify: the ceiling is 15ft up. You occupy the space between 10 and 15 feet in altitude. You aren't fifteen feet up, unless you've somehow got a noclip boon.
@Hugo, and really @ Everyone: I do not mind if you look. Honestly. I'll try and make my abbreviations almost gibberish if I really need some privacy, but I trust you all to keep things separate.
If you find that you can't though, you probably shouldn't.
Also, I need to address something real quick. Update might be a little later.

As Marduk runs past Hugo, the half-orc looking at him menacingly, the venture-captain blinks incredulously. "By Abadar on high, can you wait a moment so I can heal you?" he cries out. Needless to say, he does not attempt to try and touch Marduk under those conditions.
The blue-tinged surgeon leaps out of the way. The blood-red surgeon... Not so much.
Let me know what you will do with your standard.

@GM, re my question about the ceilings, I understand. I was mainly trying to understand if, being 10' away horizontally, and 10' up in the air, would mean that the bad guys would need to be adjacent to me to hit me (assuming their reach is 10'), but my understanding is that Pathfinder really doesn't account for that kind of three-dimensional accounting. In any case, I was mainly trying to figure out if there were a place I could get to where a spell cast would not provoke, and it looks like there isn't, so it's all moot. Will see what I can do with a defensive cast... Thanks.

"Let me discharge this "Heal" on you that I've been holding for the past few seconds and it'll be my pleasure" replies Hugo, who approaches Marduk with an eye towards the remaining surgeon. The creature, hearing Hugo's words, immediately locks its gaze upon the cleric of Abadar and snarls.
@Marduk: Do you allow Hugo to touch you?

![]() |

Urko regards the chaos surrounding him. He looks over to the garden and its mass of animate plant life. Hmm, really not wanting to fight yet another battle...might be time to try and regroup but can't let that lot in here...
He turns to regard the poor unfortunate androids thrown from the railing above.
With deathwatch active can I tell if they are alive or dead? It is likely to affect his decision. I think 2 or 3 were thrown off?

![]() |

Fall #1: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 2, 5) = 17
Fall #2: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 5) = 18
Both androids that have been pushed off are dead.

![]() |

Why would he walk around with a heal spell running?
Definitely, no. If he insists, he’s going to get a whack.

![]() |

Urko sighs and shakes his head, so much wasted life, we will find out what has happened here and put a stop to it...
His head snaps back around and he stares into the garden area. I have no time for you lot right now, you can stay there until we are ready for you! he says before raising both hands and invoking another spell. As he completes it a huge wall of spinning, silvery blades springs up in the entrance to the garden, sealing it off.
With that he flies towards where the rest of the group were last, giving Artemis a signal to come.
Urko takes the speed boost this round from BoF. He casts Blade Barrier across the entrance, hopefully stopping or slowing the plants. Any creature moving through takes 15d6 force damage with a DC29 reflex save for half.

Artemis, Animal Companion |

Artemis takes the extra movement speed on her turn from BoF
Artemis snarls and her rear legs reach up to shred the kyton she has in her jaws.
As she has begun her turn grappling she gets two free rake attacks. They are no longer good aligned
Rake, heroism, df, pa: 1d20 + 20 + 2 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (6) + 20 + 2 + 4 - 3 = 29
Damage: 1d6 + 11 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 4 + 6 = 22
Rake, heroism, df, pa: 1d20 + 20 + 2 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (1) + 20 + 2 + 4 - 3 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 11 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 11 + 4 + 6 = 24
If the creature is still conscious she will maintain the grapple in order to move him, flying down to Urko with the Kyton in her jaws like a toy she is returning to her master. Otherwise she just flies down to him.
Maintain grapple: 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (16) + 36 = 52

As Marduk's senses tell him something is wrong, "Hugo" reaches out to touch him. Immediately upon contact, a blast of pain radiates from the spot struck on Marduk's ribs and the spell warrior feels his knowledge, the essence of his being being leached away.
Marduk, please give me a DC 22 Will save for an effect by "Hugo"
and another for an illusory effect (DC hidden)
Meanwhile, behind the wall, Urko can see the main plant creature get grabbed and escape, only to get grappled again as Artemis comes on down, a wiggling kyton in her mouth.
Simultaneously, the blue tinged surgeon steps up to Marduk to slice him up, and tears through his flesh, chewing through the weakening stoneskin spell.
In the other room, the purple-tinged kyton takes the long way around to cut off Venture-Captain Hugo's retreat.
Back to you!
