Urko, atop Artemis takes a millisecond to assess the situation as one of the gargoyles casts a spell and flies up to gargoyle Marduk with a snarl. "You die now!"
Meanwhile, Agata recalls that solar dragons have much more resplendent scales; this is actually a vortex dragon. As all dragons, it has a breath weapon that deals fire damage in a 60 foot cone, but vortex dragons can also breathe in with their collapsing breath , which can lead to someone ending up swallowed whole. Their aura bends space and time, and they are able to bite anyone within the aura as if they were right next to it. Vortex dragons of her age can also land on foes using their body to crush anyone still beneath three or more sizes smaller. This would pin whoever was caught underneath, lest they dodge out of the way, as well as crush bones underfoot. Maintaining such a state would take the dragon's attention though.
The witch frowns as she considers that the dragon can likely sweep its tail as a standard action. The sweep affects a half-circle with a radius of 30 feet extending from an intersection on the edge of the dragon’s space in any direction. Creatures within the swept area are affected if they are at least four times smaller than the dragon, but can attempt to dodge out of the way. Resistant to non-magical weapons and spells (DR 15/magic, SR 30) her kind are immune to fire, sleep and paralysis.

Will DC 29: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 Boo.
Nalshene, knowing she needs to pull out all the stops on this thing, flies forward and casts her most powerful spell. A large burst of beautiful yet painfully bright colors surrounds the dragon. Casting scintillating pattern on the dragon. It will need to make a DC 31 Will save or be affected as if it has 11 fewer hit dice than it actually has. I'll draw the 20-ft spread on the map.
She also tosses out an extra spell, trying to destroy the dragon's bones from the inside. Also casting Quickened boneshatter. damage: 15d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 1, 1, 3, 2, 2, 3, 3, 5, 4, 5, 3, 1, 6) = 46 Fort DC 25 or exhausted.

Sweet Mawd |

Will DC 29 vs Aura: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21 I assume that SR doesn't apply to the aura, but just in case, Sweet Mawd has SR 20
I previously posted Sweet Mawd's actions for round 1 above; she will still do the same unless failing the Will save makes her unable to do so (in which case the others will not be hasted).

On her turn, Agata can let everyone know about the Divine Favor that gargoyle cast on itself. Nalshene you haven't used your reroll AFAIK.

"Yeeerghh... what... is... ugh..." Miranda shakes her head at the blurring of everything, trying to clear her senses to no effect. However, she has her rapier in hand, a foe at her side, and speed courtesy of Sweet Mawd, so Miranda doesn't bother to think it overly through.
(Note for GM: Though I failed the save against the 'Blur' aura, it won't make any difference mechanically for Miranda due to Improved Blind Fight and Strike the Unseen.) Also, if it makes a difference to other people's 'blur', Miranda's weapon is limning, so outlines target as per faerie fire for one round.

Urko flies forward towards Artemis and leaps onto her back. He places a hand on her shoulder and carefully intones a spell, causing her to grow to prodigious proportions. A second blessing placed on her sets her teeth and claws to gleaming.
Urko uses his hasted movement to reach Artemis, he swift mounts as a free action (he cannot fail the DC20 ride check) and then defensively casts divine vessel (axiomatic, spell shared) and quickened divine favour (not shared) on her. He cannot fail the defensive casting check.
If Urko gets attacked then Artemis will bodyguard him up to 8 times
Bidyguard, only fails on a 1: 8d20 ⇒ (5, 9, 19, 8, 13, 13, 17, 8) = 92
Each successful use of bodyguard gives Urko +7AC

I am assuming Hugo being bolded is just a remnant and he is not really up...just yet
Hugo watches as the floor erupts and the dragon and lion fight.

I didn't know that about the stunned condition. Whelp, I was going to be nicer than that, but oh well. Also, another mistake on my part, but this one isn't due to forgetfulness: this one is because I apparently cannot do math. We'll keep what damage there is.
Narshala finds herself affected by the dragon's unnatural aura, as Artemis finds much to her dismay that her claw cannot find purchase upon the creature's tough hide.
Also, FINALLY able to post! Hooray!

Miranda's head snaps left to right, taking stock of the battle as best she can. She quickly draws a wand with a snap of her wrist, and activates it, granting herself a little more protection.
Swift to draw wand of shield, standard to UMD it, can't fail check currently. Free to drop wand, move to hasted-move down towards the dragon
"Hey! You can't go killing dragons without me!" she calls cheerfully.
Had to double check my math on my AC, the current listed 46 is correct with shield and haste up

Who knows for how long though? Also, I'll be at a Con this weekend, trying to GM; I wouldn't expect any updates from me, although it isn't out of the question given how bizarrely this convention is being run.

And we're back from outage #2. Hopefully Marduk checks on in, and we can proceed. Regardless I'll try and post tonight so that we can move on past the stunned people.

![]() |

Just popping in to let you know that in view of Paizo's recent difficulties, I am giving Feral/Marduk until tomorrow to post. Still here! And hopefully I didn't jinx it by setting a deadline (again).

Hurray! Let's hope tha' tape and twine hold er together, cap'n

These site outages have been rough. Sorry. =/
Marduk hacks at the gargoyles with brutal blows. Starting with green.
Primary (haste, heroism): 1d20 + 24 + 1 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (17) + 24 + 1 + 2 - 3 = 41
Damage: 2d4 + 22 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 22 + 9 + 4 = 41
Blur?: 1d100 ⇒ 53 Hit
Iterative: 1d20 + 24 + 1 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (5) + 24 + 1 + 2 - 3 = 29
Damage: 2d4 + 22 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (3, 1) + 22 + 9 + 4 = 39
Blur?: 1d100 ⇒ 88 Hit
Haste Attack: 1d20 + 24 + 1 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (9) + 24 + 1 + 2 - 3 = 33

With furious blows, Marduk dispatches his first opponent before stepping up to the next one and ending its life as well. Agata slumps to the ground as she tries to collect her wits, but the spiritual weapon does not relent!
Spiritual weapon (Red): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Nor do the remaining gargoyles, one of which decides to go around to deal with Agata while she is low.
Gargoyle A (Blue) Battleaxe (Power Attack): 1d20 + 16 - 3 ⇒ (12) + 16 - 3 = 25
Damage: 1d8 + 5 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 6 = 17
Spiritual weapon (Blue): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
OK, so 14 more to the defending bone, and 12 to Agata? Can I start tracking your damage taken or are we still in temp hp?

![]() |

Just noticed the thing about the Unnatural Aura... Narshala has the "Attack" trick trained twice, such that she is unaffected by the Unnatural Aura ability (I believe). Is that correct?

![]() |

Having the Attack trick twice does not make Narshala immune to the distorting aura around the dragon. I do not believe it would even help you with regards to the unatural aura around creatures that have that in their stat block. But this creature doesn't have an unatural aura, so provided Narshala can deal with the breakdown of space and time, it's all gravy.

![]() |

14 points off of Defending Bone and 12 points off of Agata are noted. She has 7 temporary hp remaining (the reason she had so many temp hp to start out is she got 34 from Greater False Life and 12 from Heroes Feast)
Question about the Red Spiritual Weapon: the Red Gargoyle is currently stunned - shouldn't this make the weapon return to its master? Also, why is the spiritual weapon on a different point in the initiative from its master? Is it possible that it belonged to the other Red Gargoyle, in which case it should simply hover over its master's boy?
"If the weapon goes beyond the spell range, if it goes out of your sight, or if you are not directing it, the weapon returns to you and hovers."
Also, in looking up the spell I was surprised to read this:
It strikes as a spell, not as a weapon, so for example, it can damage creatures that have damage reduction.
... which should mean that the earlier spiritual weapon attacks should be skipping Defending Bone altogether. Do you want me to go back and figure out the difference in the damage?

![]() |

The way I understood it is that it is given an instruction (in this case kill you), and it continues following that last instruction without a need for someone to keep commanding it every turn. That said, it belonged to the recently departed Mr Red B, who clearly does not have LoS on it. So yes, it would. Scrap all Red Spiritual Weapon damage for this turn.
Also yes, it would be. Huh, totally skipped over that. So that would have been 15 damage that went to you over the past round and a half (accounting for the damage that would have overcome the DR).
