My car door hit me on the side of the head a few days ago and now I have 80's style purple makeup on one eye. That was after I tripped over my friend's dog and landed on a well positioned exercise bike on a concrete floor. Yep. Australia is deadly.

Just go full 80’s punk rock and you will look really cool :)
Australia is one of my favorite places in the world. As long as I am not in the wild. Love the beach’s and the people.

Heh. Apart from the far north, where I haven't really trod, and where everything really is trying to kill you, I love the wild places and the beaches but not so much the people. ;)

Looking around, Peran spies an old bucket and he takes it and turns it upside down and sits on it. He reaches out for the net and begins to untangle and remove the snags.
"Why don't you two head over to where...my goodness how very rude of me...we have not been introduced. I am Brother Peran and these are my companions Ferona and Antas."
He turns back to his friends.
"I am going to help out here if you two want to walk down and have a look. I will catch up shortly."

When I saw you made a "net making" roll, I was like, "Really?" So I looked at your sheet and you actually have it as a listed skill! I almost lol'd. That was great! (Nice roll, too!)

Maybe D'ogryn's player just missed the doorway Thout and Soros mention, and not D'og?
Well... Whether intentional or not, I think it fits D'ogryn's character well as an independent CG guy. So I'm rolling with it unless D'ogryn says otherwise.

I try and incorporate a lot of your guy's backgrounds into the game. In many cases I have conceptual ideas on side encounters set up and I fill in the details when I know the specifics of the characters. I did that for Naia's and Thout's character as well as D'ogryn's. I have some stuff planned for Rabalar's but we haven't gotten to that point (although, there was a tease about it early on that no one caught :) ) I also did some things with Ferona and I am working on Antas at the moment to incorporate some of his background. Peran's was easy to use since it so closely aligned with Saltmarsh :) I think it makes it more fun when you get to really play your character out this way.

I truly like it and appreciate the extra effort you put in. Even though these are "modules", your personalization makes them a lot of fun. Of course, I haven't played these modules, so it is the first time through for me, but even so, having these character tie-ins make it very enjoyable.

I'm still disappointed that you (AllenDM) didn't submit a character for Bright Morning's Reign of Winter replacement advertisement.
I don't know if you read my comment, or not, but I said that I have no idea how well your character submission (that you never provided) would have fit with the group, but that YOU would be a good addition regardless.
Not that your lack of submission gave us the chance to show them that.

I was really bummed that I couldn't. I had drafted a character but some things popped up at work and I am big into making sure I follow through on commitments. When I started looking at my schedule I just wasn't sure I could follow through. That same week our team at work got tasked with doing some clean up on the AI and Automation, as well as full deep dive on the application integration for a new product that actually rolled out during March Madness, and the ad campaign started tonight actually. Worked a lot of crazy hours and I just figured it would not be fair to anyone to submit a character if I couldn't give 100% effort.
I will say if another spot opens I will submit a character.

Eltonj's game crawls along at a snail's pace. I'm having trouble staying connected to the character because of how long it is between any actions/choices/statements of consequence.
Maybe it will pick up in dungeon crawl mode.
I'm Naji, BTW, the Baklunish Cleric of Istus.

Thanks Rab/hustonj
Yep, Elton's game is very slow. Some of his games have collapsed in the past also. In that game I'm Akeirin the elven Wilder.

I will be traveling until next Sunday. I will have my laptop and phone with me so my ability to post will not be infringed...but since I am traveling into another country I will be limited in when I can post. It is not that much money for the international phone plan but we are only using it for emergencies. I will be able to post when we get to the hotel and log in on the laptop. If I am needed and it can not wait till later that night, please go ahead and bot me.
Thank you in advance

I was tied up all weekend with soccer and baseball as well as a long list of home projects. I got on last night to post and was exhausted... I will have several posts up today for us.
Just a heads up. Friday I am driving my youngest to Houston for a baseball tournament for the weekend. I will have my laptop but posting will be slow Friday.

I hope everyone had a good weekend. My weekend was full of baseball and rain... We managed to get three games in and went 1-2 facing two elite major teams. My son pitched in the first game and managed to go three innings with 5 strike outs, 1 ground out, 2 walks, and 2 runs (1 unearned and 1 earned). Did a good job...was trying to throw his slider to much and he has just learned to throw it...so he had a few dirt balls in front of the plate. But he is a fast ball pitcher who likes to throw inside low and has a really nasty cutter and change up so I am not sure why he decided to use a new pitch (kids). Struck out a lot of boys looking. Played catcher the rest of the games as our other starting catcher is out with an ankle injury so he was worn out. Was fun to watch the team play against two of the better teams at his age bracket in the country.

Quick Survey: (Please be honest - I don't mind criticism....I ask because if there are areas I can get better or the game can get better I want to for our group.)
1) How are you enjoying the game? 1 to 5 (1 being horrible - take out the DM)
2) How are you enjoying your character so far? 1 to 5
3) How are you enjoying the house rules so far? 1 to 5
4) Is there anything about the game in general you would like to see improved?
5) Is there anything you would like to change or adjust about your character when you level up?
6) Is there anything about the house rules you would like addressed or discussed, further clarified?
From time to time I like to do these surveys to get an idea of where everyone stands. The object is to have fun so I want to make sure everyone has fun and is really enjoying themselves.
Again this is just so we as a group can keep improving upon our game so fire away. I for one really enjoy this game and I am actually really excited about seeing you get through U1! Lots of little twists to come...some are already in play :)

1) How are you enjoying the game? 1 to 5 (1 being horrible - take out the DM) 5: I am really enjoying the character interactions here, and the challenges are quite unique!
2) How are you enjoying your character so far? 1 to 5 5: Having a blast playing Ferona now, though still trying to get a handle on her personality.
3) How are you enjoying the house rules so far? 1 to 5 5: While the rules are complex to learn and also take some getting used to, the are internally consistent which is not an easy task to accomplish!
4) Is there anything about the game in general you would like to see improved? I am just biding my time until Ferona and her merry band join up with the other party members!
5) Is there anything you would like to change or adjust about your character when you level up? Not at this time.
6) Is there anything about the house rules you would like addressed or discussed, further clarified? Not at the moment.

Thanks for the feedback Eric.
Is there any rules I can better clarify or improve upon? One of the things I have really appreciated was Licitus' and Hustonj's feedback and criticisms. Licitus and I actually cleaned up a good deal of things that needed to be fixed/improved upon.

I'll have to look over the magic rules again as I have not had the ability to use them as of yet. I would imagine as Ferona gains more power then the rules will need to be looked at more closely, but that is a ways down the road he he.

This is where I rake you over the coals and laugh maniacally as I try to find the key to torturing your soul for the next 1000 years, right?
No?
I've been having a blast, or I wouldn't have signed up for the other game, which I might actually be enjoying more.
I'm unhappy with MY posting. It feels too rushed, too small most of the time. Like right now, I have a meeting to get to in 50 minutes that's 30 minutes away, and I'm trying to see how many of my games I can get caught up on before I leave, because it will be another 4 hours (roughly) before I can finish.

1) How are you enjoying the game? 1 to 5
5 hands down. This is such a fun game...I love the immersion of characters and having a background that actually means something!!
2) How are you enjoying your character so far? 1 to 5
5 - I am really getting to love the feeling of Peran. His background is coming to life and has an actual bearing on the current game.
3) How are you enjoying the house rules so far? 1 to 5
5- Not a problem with them...they make sense and seem balanced.
4) Is there anything about the game in general you would like to see improved?
Not at this time...like Ferona I look forward to meeting the rest of the party but am enjoying our quest too!
5) Is there anything you would like to change or adjust your character when you level up?
Maybe a bit more in oratory for those Godday sermons!
6) Is there anything about the house rules you would like addressed or discussed, further clarified?
Nope...loving the game and the party we have seems to be made up of great role players! As a DM you rate a 6 out of 5 on my scale :-)

You already know I'm well into this game!
I have a hard enough time with the core rules (I can't stand a bunch of them and forget an equal amount) so the house rules are no more or no less onerous!
I do want to look at changing Naia's feats to help her throwing style.

Let me know what changes you want to make in throwing style/feats and such. We can discuss it and make changes. I am all for making tweaks to your character before or at our first level change (2nd). Licitus made some changes on Thout as he become more clear on the house rules.
That goes for everyone if you need to tweak your character a bit I would prefer to do it before or at 2nd level. Since it looks like you are getting ready to rest this would be good time for it :) We can discuss either here on on message. I prefer to discuss mods to HR and feats openly with everyone so there is open conversation if it comes to that :)

I am really glad everyone is enjoying the game. We should be getting close to getting the parties combined. The big thing for me is transitioning Edan and Soros out of the party but still keep them has NPC's. One of the things I have been doing is showing how miserable Soros is in the House. Essentially an adventure's life is not one he might be cut out for...I am kind of letting that flow with the story and not trying to push it right now. Edan on the other hand has a background that I might want to keep intact for a subplot I had worked in to our story. Again I am letting this flow a little before I make changes...
The murder mystery was something I had as a subplot for the party written in prior to us starting so it worked out nicely to use as a medium for the Antas, Ferona, and Peran to get into the "Saltmarsh feel" while the rest of the group is in the House.
If you haven't noticed I hate just dropping off characters due to players leaving as it ruins the story flow in my opinion so I don't mind RPing it out so there is some finality or conclusion to the PC. Zove for instance will come back into play as I have already planned to use her in our story line... (rubbing hands while casting an evil grin)...
I like to take adventures like U1 to U3 and build in subplots that either center around character backgrounds or around the backdrop (Saltmarsh for instance) to enhance the overall adventure. This makes the off the shelf adventure more customized to the party. I have done that with this group. There are several background subplots and several backdrop subplots working in conjunction with the main plot... Adding in some interesting twists to keep everyone on their collective toes :) The truth is these adventures can get dry in spots so adding in some of these make for interesting side adventures and offer an opportunity to gain some additional experience.

1) How are you enjoying the game? 1 to 5 (1 being horrible - take out the DM)
5 - I'm enjoying this campaign immensely.2) How are you enjoying your character so far? 1 to 5
4 - I like him a lot, but I'm still trying to flesh him out. I've enjoyed the interactions with the other characters and am hoping that with further development the relationships will end up with a life of their own.
3) How are you enjoying the house rules so far? 1 to 5
5+ - I really like the house rules. I also appreciate the input you give us in trying to create something that works both with the campaign and all of us together.
4) Is there anything about the game in general you would like to see improved?
There is nothing at the moment other than some of the suggestions from Rabalar about allowing us to make significant character changes on the fly (within your approval) while we are still 1st level. EDIT: Ok. You are already addressing this above. See? I love this campaign!
5) Is there anything you would like to change or adjust about your character when you level up?
So far, Thout is where I want him to be. Really looking forward to the next couple of levels where he can branch out.
6) Is there anything about the house rules you would like addressed or discussed, further clarified?
Not right now. But as you know, I'm not shy about proposing changes or asking questions!

All,
We are starting to lose momentum so I wanted to post this out to our group. The big thing we need as a group is everyone posting at a consistent rate on a weekly basis. We are not hitting the 1 post per weekday rate and that doesn't appear to be feasible with everyone at the moment. So I am proposing that we work for 3 to 4 posts weekly. We need to be posting individually so that we can move the story forward at a meaningful pace. Let me know your thoughts.
Right now I have not seen Licitus post in either campaign since 4/16 so I am waiting on him to post. Hopefully he is ok and nothing is wrong but I intend on botting both characters in the meantime.

Since there was still snow on the ground our meeting was a little shorter than I thought it would be.
I came home Saturday night and ended up going into AFib. I was admitted to the hospital and spent several days on blood thinning medications. I had too many test to remember and blood drawn every 6 hours. Not a fun time at all. I ended up getting a cardio version with one shock at 250 Joules. I am soar as hell from the burns and at home now. I will try and get a post up when I can but I will be honest...it is not my main priority right now. lol Bot me as needed for the next couple of days please. Thank you.
