All right, everyone, let me know if you have any questions here! Go ahead and dot in even if you don't.

GM_Almonihah |

Glad to have everyone! And yes, do what you can for avatar pictures. Humans can't properly depict the subtle differences in feather color and shape that ravens use to tell each other apart, after all.

GM_Almonihah |

Assuming no one has more to say now, I'll tell you what you see during the first leg of your flight this evening.

GM_Almonihah |

C’a’rrrar’kkk would know some songs involving them--enough to know the difference between a human and a real giant. Whether or not the magpies would know this distinction, you don't know.

S’kkk’aaa’rrrk the Shadow |

The following is an incredibly difficult question to answer. Sorry :-).
So far, this world "feels" more like a fairy tale than a bog standard Pathfinder World looked at from the point of view of a Raven (that is absolutely NOT a criticism, by the way)
So, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find a Giant towering over the trees and walking a league with each step, even though that is clearly impossible in Pathfinder.
Am I right that this is more a fairy tale? Completely wrong? Or somewhere in the middle.

GM_Almonihah |

The module is actually from Kobold Press's Midgard campaign world, which is based more (as the name suggests) on Scandinavian mythology (with some other more unusual European mythologies thrown in, and some other stuff). That being said, the module does have a bit more of a fairy-tale feel to it, and I *have* been trying to emphasize that (ex. The way the magpies talked was entirely my invention). So I'm glad to hear it's working. I think it fits both the story and the idea of an isolated colony of intelligent ravens better.

GM_Almonihah |

Fortunately, from here on out all of your opponents will be intelligent enough to be tricked. ;)

R’rrr ar’kkk, Son of T’r’k |

I'm assuming R’rrr ar’kkk won't recover any spells due to his activity tending to his comrade instead of rest; will he also be fatigued?

GM_Almonihah |

Yes, but I'll give a little something away--the next day of flying will be entirely uneventful, if eerily quiet.

R’rrr ar’kkk, Son of T’r’k |

Have we lost T'rrr'aaa'rrr'k? It looks like baticeer hasn't posted in any of her games since 9.24...

GM_Almonihah |

It seems likely, unfortunately. Hmmm... I guess maybe I'll just bot her. This is such a short scenario I'd feel a bit weird inviting someone to join for three whole encounters.

GM_Almonihah |

Due to the holiday today, I'll be waiting until Saturday to advance things. Happy Thanksgiving all!

GM_Almonihah |

This end part of the adventure is deliberately left wide open. You have to think like clever raven heroes to fell such a mighty foe. ;)

GM_Almonihah |

You can imitate whispers with ghost sound... they'll just be unintelligible whispers. Ventriloquism is the spell for making intelligible speech at a distance.

GM_Almonihah |

You might not need them to be intelligible if you play it right, though...

GM_Almonihah |

Yes, we're done! We can do a bit of denouement, have you welcomed back by the Great Unkindness with great fanfare (well, cawing), but other than that, we're done!
I apologize for not always being on top of things, but other than that, what did everyone think?

S’kkk’aaa’rrrk the Shadow |

It was quite fun as a one off. I'm not sure how well it would fare over a longer time.
If you ever do it again, I think that I'd let the players make their own characters (stats and class and specials like the rogue getting his acid splash pre-determined, so basically the player just picks feats and skill pts). The rogue, at least, was severely sub optimal in several respects.

R’rrr ar’kkk, Son of T’r’k |

Thank you very much for running - this actually marks the first PbP game I've participated in that was played to completion, so everyone (except T'rrr'aaa'rrr'k) gets +1,000,000 points in my book for that!
I enjoyed it, though I echo S’kkk’aaa’rrrk's sentiments regarding the characters - given the unavoidable character limitations (ie being birds) and the encounters we faced, I don't know that it would be possible to make an OP character. The game took a little longer to complete than I expected coming in, but overall I felt the pace was good. I thought you managed combat encounters well and more or less kept us on point, and I liked the open-ended nature of the final encounter with the giant rather than there being some obvious correct/expected solution.

GM_Almonihah |

Glad you all enjoyed it! I'm not sure I'll ever run it again, but if I do, I'll keep your comments in mind.
I liked the setup of the giant encounter, too. The module had a couple suggested solutions (using the blindness scarf and tricking the giant into the well, blocking the chimney of the giant's hut at night and suffocating him), but basically said to facilitate any clever plan the players came up with.
Thanks for sticking with it, you three! Hope you have fun in your future games. And any games you're in right now. :D
