Please dot in or introduce your character, and fill out the Slides linked above. Sign in on the RPG Chronicles sheet--make sure to include an e-mail address so I can send your Chronicle later!
Any GM Glyphs?
Or anything in particular I need to know about your character?
How do you feel about taking friendly fire?
This is a Outpost game, so you should be signed up on the spreadsheet before you come here. That also means we have a scheduled start date of March 2nd.

Hello!
If you're new to pbp here then perhaps I should explain this "dotting in" thing. From your profile you can access a campaigns page, which gives you easy access to all of your pbp games. To join a game, just make a post in the gameplay thread.
Deleting the post doesn't remove the game from your list, so before people are ready to make an actual gameplay post they can still join the game by posting a . (or, well, literally anything, but a single character is enough) and then deleting the post.
That will also add your main profile to the "Players" tab and the profile you use to post to the "Characters" tab. Oh, right! This forum lets you create aliases that are sub-profiles you can post from. Every Society character is automatically an alias, so you can generally just use that character's profile to make your posts. That way you can add your character sheet to your profile, and a stat block to the "race" and "class," which show up under your name in posts in gameplay threads.
(This forum actually has some pretty decent pbp tools!)
Here, I'll make this post with one of my character profiles instead of my GM profile so you can copy it if you like. When you make a post, you can switch to an alias sub-profile from the dropdown near the Preview and Submit buttons. Once you've added a character to a game, they'll also move to the top of the list when you make a post there--which can be very helpful once you have a few of 'em.
I see you've already added your token on the Slides, so thanks for that. On the third slide there, there's a marching order diagram. If you put your token on there, I can use that to help put together starting positions on any battle maps we may use.

Done with RPGChronicles and Slides. I have two glyphs to share. Avery is a ranger with rogue dedication. Friendly fire is okay as long as I am not and will not be Dying.

4 glyphs. all done. friendly fire ok as long as Kat is not dying or in danger of such.
| GM Super Zero |
This game only has three players signed up.
There's still time for a last minute sign-up, but if we don't get one we'll need a pregen party member.
Any preferences? Anyone in particular want to take charge of them?
Kaitlyn Deathsbane

We can wait. No rush for me :)
Narkru
|
I'm good either way. Looks like we need a talker, so I vote the sorcerer pregen if it comes to it.
No glyphs from me.
Hancock the Angry
|
I noticed you need another player so I signed up. No glyphs here either.

Why do I get the feeling Rannic is subtly working against us.
| GM Super Zero |
Perhaps I should mention: Kat didn't get all of that just from the one crit success.
A critical success in this area gives a different benefit depending on the room. In this room it was a clue that something seems off about Rindle's aura, which gives a free secret Perception check to penetrate his disguise. I made that secret check off-site so as not to give away that I was making one in case of a failure, but, well, it was not a failure.
(Also I know that dialogue there was a bit of a stretch but I didn't want him to die without mentioning his name.)
| GM Super Zero |
Hm. I should probably award another Hero Point, although they haven't been used much.
I gave the last one to Narkru, so this one goes to Avery/Kat/Hancock: 1d3 ⇒ 2 Kat.

ooh. thanks :)

Question: would mirror image affect a blind person?
| GM Super Zero |
It does have the Visual trait, so it doesn't affect creatures that can't see it.
If you're thinking of trying to get around it, Avert Gaze wouldn't help (there isn't a save to get a bonus to, for one thing).
Keeping your eyes closed entirely for a round might work, but... probably a net loss.
Hancock the Angry
|
Yes, I was thinking of his closing his eyes and using Acute Scent and Supernatural Senses when swinging. The flat check is only a 3 when using his sense of smell to target a creature, so that is the plan (and much more fun) if it is legal RAW.
Hancock the Angry
|
I think you are right. I've probably been doing it wrong, or maybe I confused this with some other situation like blur or something.
... after reading more, you are definitely right. That should be a flat 9 check. Still, he would do it rather than mess with the mirror images and he will keep doing it until they are gone.
| GM Super Zero |
Oh hang on, Purpose is down. All PCs' turn, then. I'll edit the post.
You may want to take a moment to check that your entry on RPGChronicles looks correct. If you'd like to make checks for downtime in this thread, you can go ahead and do that now, too.
And I've just been informed that this con will have door prizes. You don't have to do anything to be entered--the winners will be selected from all participants in reported games and informed by email after the con.
That does mean that you need to include an email address on your RPGChronicles entry, but email is also how I distribute Chronicles so I'd be strongly requesting that anyway (also, it's moot because all of you already have--oh, I guess that means I should list mine, though!).

Fortune Telling Lore: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Success. 7 sp x 8 days = 5.6 gp
| GM Super Zero |
Oh incidentally, if anyone has a Treasure Bundle Insurance boon let me know. You did miss one. (It was a hard one. I'll go over it at the end, if you like.)

Crafting(E), DC 19: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
Success: 6.4gp
Narkru

Crafting: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Success: 4 gp
Don't have the faction status to get TB insurance yet.

Attempting 5th level down-time using Storied Talent boon
legal lore: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Success: 4 gp

I purchased a Treasure Bundle Insurance boon for this scenario: Treasure Bundle Insurance boon.
I will handle Downtime on my own.
Hancock the Angry

I'll take the income hit. Not a big deal in the long run.

Nice!

For anyone interested:
The PCs did not convince the axiomite to seal the rift to access (that would have required a critical success in that encounter), so I don't check box B.
The PCs did not free Vergil Twinspell, so I don't check box C (this one was a real long shot--the statue mentioned early on was a petrified person; it was unlikely you would figure this out or be able to do anything about it even if you did).
The PCs completed their primary objective by helping Eliza reach Galt via the Woodsedge Lodge portal while gathering at least 4 samples. Doing so earns each PC 2 Reputation and grants them the Maze Walker boon on their Chronicle sheet.
The PCs fulfilled their secondary objective and gain 2 Reputation since they gather all 4 samples with no more than 1 phytolith (or if they had negotiated with the axiomites to seal the Axis portal from their side).
Rindle's satchel is worth two treasure bundles.
Navigating the three gates perfectly earns two treasure bundles. Upsetting the guardians once means you have to fight the genies, upsetting them twice reduces the bundles to one, and upsetting them all three times means you fight the giants and earn no treasure. Navigating a gate without upsetting the guardians is difficult while Nevashi is with the party failing on purpose, and you did in fact fail twice while he was with you and then succeed at the third after defeating him.
Two treasure bundles for defeating or negotiating with the axiomites, in the form of the perfect formations of gold.
Two treasure bundles for defeating the proteans, from the random treasure.
Two treasure bundles for defeating the witchwyrd and his elementals, for his equipment. He attacked you for no apparent reason because Nevashi warned him the Pathfinders were coming an would attack him on his first trip through the Maze. So it's nice that you defeated him nonlethally.
I'll have paperwork done shortly. Watch your emails for your Chronicles.
EDIT: RPGChronicles appears to be having issues. Paperwork may be delayed.
