Professor Paradigm |
Paradigm takes a short deep breath before he turns towards the Drone. He didn't have time to cast a spell for this. "Isn't it time for the maintenance? My chronometer says it is time to check the docking clamps for stress fractures. Once every hour, correct? That's what I am doing. You can help if you'd like. I need that one over there opened as well."
Persuasion Untrained: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -11d6 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3
Hehehe... nope.
Thomas Roland |
Ah. Alrighty then!
'There has been no change in the enemy's disposition,' Tom mind-thinks back. 'I'm still looking at 6 really ugly dudes. I mean, like really ugly. I mean if they were dating your sister, you would take her aside and ask her what she saw in that really ugly guy. Srsly, these guys are stoopid ugly. =p'
How Tom inserts emotes into telepathic communication is not yet entirely understood.
'If you can/are still trying to break the locks, keep doing what u r doin'. No alarms, no call to arms.
Yet.
Also, I hope no one is trying to persuade anyone without me. I mean, I study how to persuade people. Srsly, I wrote a book called _Why I'm Awesome At Persuading People a Lot_. Jus' saying.'
Hrungir the Destined |
Hrungir calls out mentally to Paradigm Stall the creature. Describe your position to me in your mind. and he grabs Ibrahim Prepare. is what he "says" to Ibrahim before the Bifrost closes around them and they disappear.
And reappear behind the drone speaking to Paradigm
Smarts: 1d12 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 1
The roll was to teleport to a location I cannot see, but was described to me. Assuming Paradigm does as I ask.
GM_ZenFox42 |
Before Hrungir and Ibrahim appear, the guard says "You should know those clamps can only be opened electronically from inside the building. Please show me your ID card." Paradigm, what do you do?
Let's just assume Paradigm mentally describes his location, so we don't have to wait for him to post.
Hrungir and Ibrahim, you appear behind the guard, about 3" from him. What do you do?
Diffraction |
Diffraction keys his comms, "Entering the building."
"Ibrahim, are you with me? he says turning just in time to see the god and the lich disappear. 'Guess I am on my own for now'
Diffraction moves quietly into the building.
Professor Paradigm |
Subtle casting was something Paradigm was working on, but it wasn't perfect yet. He reaches inside his robes and feels around, as if he had lost it. "I know that, but they can't be opened from in there if the signal is interrupted by a broken antenna, now can they? Hold on, my card is in here somewhere.." He produces a card as official looking as it can be. "Here it is." At the same time, his mind's eye sends a quick image of his surroundings to the telechatroom.
Spellcasting- Illusion: 1d10 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 61d6 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
GM_ZenFox42 |
Waiting to hear what Hrungir and Deadhand are doing now that they're behind the guard. You can try to Sneak up to him to get The Drop (but he gets an opposed Notice), use a Ranged weapon (which would also give you The Drop, but make noise), or just move up to him and attack (but he could call out for help).
Paradigm, please make a Common Knowledge roll at -6.
Hrungir the Destined |
I was kinda waiting to see if Ibrahim would just autokill it...but here goes.
Hrungir focuses his mighty intellect onto the drone, and attempts to fry some synapses.
Stun: 1d12 ⇒ 12 Ace: 1d12 ⇒ 10
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 6
It's an opposed Smarts roll at -2 for the drone. Success is shaken, Raise is incapacitated
Ibrahim, The Deadhand |
Was going to try. Weekends are spottier for posting since I'm not at my computer as much.
Stealth: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Fighting: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Damage: 1d8 + 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (8) + (2) + 2 = 12
Ace!: 1d8 ⇒ 4
+4 Fighting/Damage if drone fails Perception, for a total of 9 to-hit and 20 damage.
Professor Paradigm |
Not So Common Knowledge: 1d10 - 6 ⇒ (3) - 6 = -31d6 - 6 ⇒ (3) - 6 = -3
Figures..
Professor Paradigm |
Paradigm looks at the other two. "Impeccable timing. This one says the clamps can only be released from where Thomas is. Otherwise, we can destroy them, but then we risk damaging the sub in the process."
Ibrahim, The Deadhand |
Ibrahim skulks up behind the Visori just in time for it to collapse from Hrungir's assault. He shrugs, and finishes it with a single strike of his knife.
"Better to kill it swiftly than risk it waking up at an inconvenient time."
As Ibrahim begins disintegrating the drone's body to hide the evidence:
"Then that should be our backup plan. It wouldn't do to knock a hole in the vessel we need, yes? Does Thomas need our help inside?"
Professor Paradigm |
Paradigm looks to the disappearing Drone. "Neat trick. I might have to borrow it sometime. For now, if you'll assist me with some clamp surgery, we may be able to convince the clamps that the open signal has been sent."
He gathers his thoughts and again sends the nanobots into one of the clamps, attempting to reprogram it, but is shaken by the alien device.
Sorcery Interface: 1d10 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 21d6 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
GM_ZenFox42 |
Diffraction - you see a fairly large room with a long table in the middle, probably used for meetings and/or eating. You hear voices coming from around the turn in the hall, but can't make them out.
Professor Paradigm |
Paradigm thinks for a moment. 'This is going too slow, if we can draw them out, they will eventually figure it out and send the rest or call for reinforcements. We'll keep them busy if you can get to the release mechanism." Then he activates his Force Field and conjures a Fire Ball in his hand. "We're going to have company, thought I'd give them a gift."
Diffraction |
Diffraction steps around the corner activating his Force Barrier and launching an attack on the two Fin
Fighting-Multi Action+The Drop: 1d6 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (3) - 2 + 4 = 51d4 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (1) - 2 + 4 = 3
Damage+The Drop: 1d12 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 1 + 4 = 14
Ibrahim, The Deadhand |
Deadhand sighs at needing to leave a job unfinished, but ceases disintegrating the corpse and simply shove sit into the water nearby, before finding something to hide behind to ambush any enemies that rush out.
Stealth: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Ace!: 1d6 ⇒ 3
9 Stealth total.
GM_ZenFox42 |
Diffraction's attack is off and doesn't manage to hit them (the roll was less than their Parry, and since they were unaware of the attack, that's how I'm describing it), but it does alert them to his presence. With low growls, they turn toward Diffraction and point their weapons at him...
Initiative!
Diffraction : 4C
Fin : 8S
Fin #1 shoots, a 3-round burst :
Shooting: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Diffraction, you've got your Parry listed as 2, but it should be 5. And you should *really* be thinking of some ways to boost it even higher!
Which hits Diffraction, doing
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4) = 14
Damage ACE!: 1d6 ⇒ 2 = 16
Which leaves Diffraction Shaken.
Fin #2 shoots, a 3-round burst :
Shooting: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Which hits Diffraction, doing
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 1) = 11
Damage ACE!: 1d6 ⇒ 1 = 12
Which does no further damage.
One of the Fin growls in a gutteral language.
Everyone hears the blaster fire.
What do you do? Your next actions are happening during this first round.
Diffraction |
Changing my skill from force control to fighting raised my pary, I forgot to make that change, I have 3 levels of deflection, so the shots would be a 3 and a 5. The first shot would have missed.
Sorry for all the mistakes
Professor Paradigm |
Paradigm raises a naked eyebrow at Ibrahim. "No use hiding now. Let them come, we'll take them one at a time."
Readying to fire a Fire Bolt at the next alien that comes at them. Force field is already active.
Fire Bolt Shooting: 1d6 ⇒ 21d6 ⇒ 5
Armor Piercing Fire Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 5) = 21
Aces: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9
Another Ace: 1d6 ⇒ 2
32 Armor Piercing Damage!
Hrungir the Destined |
Hrungir isn't interested in putting himself in harms way for some lesser mortal being. He teleports to a spot where he can see creatures that exit the facility but not be seen right away.
Finish this. Be done with these creatures.
If two or more creatures leave the facility and are close enough together Medium Burst Hrungir will unleash his psychic power on them
Smarts: 1d12 ⇒ 10
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Opposed at -2, success is shaken, raise is incapacitated
-- Dark Angel -- |
Angel swoops down to land lightly on her feet, sword exposed and swinging!
Fighting to hit a Fin: 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11 Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Damage: 1d10 + 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + (6) + 2 = 12 (AP 2)
GM_ZenFox42 |
So, as those outside hear the blaster fire, 3 Fin come out the back door to check on the sub.
Paradigm hits #: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Hrungir hits #: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Angel hits #: 1d3 ⇒ 2
So, Paradigm's attack obliterates Fin #2.
Angel's attack on #3 Shakens him, but since this is happening all at once, he still gets an opposing roll to Hrungir's attack :
Smarts-2: 1d6 - 2 ⇒ (4) - 2 = 2
Um, Hrungir, please see Discussion before I go any further. Everyone else, please wait until this gets resolved.
GM_ZenFox42 |
Fin #3 is Incapacitated by Hrungir's attack, but this is only a temporary Incapacitation...
Thomas, just before you heard blaster fire, 3 of the Fins had left the control room and moved out of sight, and another had stepped out into the hall just before that.
Can anyone suggest the *easiest* way to 1)Draw a map, and 2)Make it available to everyone? I don't have a lot of free time to put into map making, so I'd rather keep it as "theatre of the mind", but I'll do one if I can do it quickly.
I'll do initiative tomorrow, too busy today to do more.
GM_ZenFox42 |
I've never made maps in Roll20, are they *very* easy to do?
Initiative!
Dark Angel - 9S
Diffraction - 5D
Enkidu - JD
Hrungir - 8H
Ibrahim - QH
Paradigm - 6S
Guards - 4S
So : Ibrahim, Enkidu, Angel, Hrungir, Paradigm, Diffraction, Guards
Since the guards are going last, everyone can post in whatever order they want.
Professor Paradigm |
I prefer Google Docs myself. No need to login to edit.
Paradigm blasts another guard.
Fire Bolt: 1d6 ⇒ 31d6 ⇒ 6
Ace: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Armor Piercing Fire with Possible Raise Damage: 4d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 1) + (6) = 14
Ace: 1d6 ⇒ 3
17 damage
Ibrahim, The Deadhand |
I've never made maps in Roll20, are they *very* easy to do?
As easy as drawing something out in MS Paint, with the added bonus you can pull pictures off the web and upload them to give unique looking backgrounds to otherwise simple squares and circles you're drawing for the combat map.
Ibrahim is briefly annoyed by the all-out brawl that's broken out, but shrugs. Sometimes it just can't be helped.
Making the best of a bad situation, he curiously tries his new blaster on the nearest target.
Marksman Shooting: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Wild: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage, AP 4: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) = 7
