I'll take that imposition, thanks motteditor. We do have a scroll of restoration, and I think Tristain might have had something too, so it wouldn't have been horrible. But yeah, I was down to first level spells I think. Maybe second.
I'd make the DC 21 at this level but I suppose that is the matriarch save and it's a tougher critter so 18 makes sense.
I'll roll momentarily.

"We are hunting Lowels, and the Necronomicon. When we find the book, will you destroy it for us?" If Kyffin is anything, he's optimistic.
This is what I thought of with this one sentence.
And also this:
Necromicon. (Because that's how I say it. It's just easier. Plus, it works perfectly with the song).
:D

Lothan Robgard |

"Oh booky book archons! They might not be happy with us, well, actually they may only care about those of us who can read," Tristain does not look at anyone he suspects cannot read.
Lol!
(Psst! I won't tell the old man you're obviously referring to him. You really should have more respect for your elders, T. Just because he's old doesn't give you the right to make fun of his lack of reading ability). ;)

Thanks for the Elmer Fudd/Muppets references; I'd almost forgotten about the latter.
I guess you're all right after all; I was totally expecting for Lothan to use his new ring on the archons and report that their underwear is "holey/holy."

And now it's in my head. F%~&.

HA! Yeah, I figure this group has grown on him but he'll never admit it. And it irritates the crap out of him too. :P

Oh my gosh. 22 new posts! Ugh.
Sorry, folks. Work has taken up a lot of my time and it's affecting my posting. And I'm working extra in an attempt to try and pay off some debt asap. So, I'll still be around but it's going to be not as often until I can stop working 6 days a week. And on Sundays, I just try to get some rest. Too tired to do anything.
Just a heads up as to why I've been so silent.

Javell DeLeon |

Oh my freaking gosh!!! Man, I am sorry, all. I didn't even realize I threw that post in the game thread. I meant to throw it in the freaking discussion thread! UGH!!!
Man o man, that pisses me off. So stupid. That's what I get for posting something when I'm just not thinking straight. Man, that just makes me mad.
Crap. Frustrating. Seriously frustrating.
@mott: Please delete Javell(and Javell only if it's possible) from the "Player's tab". It rarely ever happens(maybe like 3 times) but when it does, I just freaking hate it.

Some things in my real life are drawing my attention from gaming for the moment. I'm not sure how much time I'll be able to devote to the game for an unknown amount of time. My plan is to continue but with much more bare-bones (and not just because I'm trying to flay you all) posts for combat rounds, since the description takes about half the time for the combat posts.

Starflit |

Heh. I'm the opposite--most of my time is taken up dealing with the round's mechanics and making sure I incorporate everything into my game post. The flavor stuff comes naturally (most of the time).
I also hate typos and omissions, FWIW.

Javell DeLeon |

Whoa! Protection from evil?! Whoops, my bad. (Just went back and saw where Starflit cast it. I completely forgot about it) And I forgot to include it. His AC is actually a 29 with protection from evil.
Just to be sure, let's check it out: 10, +9 armor, +6 Dex, +2 natural, +2 deflection from Protection from evil. Yep, 29.
That's totally my bad. Do I still take the massive damage from that nasty crit because I screwed up? Totally fair enough if so. Hopefully, that'll teach me to get it right. Otherwise, at this rate, this AP is going to be a really short trip for Lothan. :P

Starflit |

We have too many threads right now. What is a good order of things?
I can't decide, in-character or out. Starflit has the fear that the party is somehow helping Lowls by doing the ritual from the Necronomicon, but at the same time he's the #1 target. On the other hand, if Lowls is trying to trick the party, he might still be hiding somewhere in the city. If the ghost and/or Kaklatath (my brain just tried to convince me her name is Kakalatte; I might need some RL head-bonking) are being truthful, wrapping up loose ends while we're still in the city makes sense and might be instrumental to our future success. We might even find Lowls if he's hiding out.
If I had to vote, I guess I'd go with doing what we can in Neruzavin before heading off to Carcosa; who knows how difficult it might be to get back to Golarion from there.
(Esp. if we give the Necronomicon to the archons, who I'm not convinced are who they claim to be.)

Albert Hazred |

I'm unsure on the thread path as well, just from a gamer perspective it seems we could have destroyed the book before following any rituals, so there must be another path to the end goal, such as through the lake monster, but the sword and polyps seem like a side quest vs following Lowls. Completing the rituals without being sure that we aren't helping Lowls in his schemes is the last thing that Albert the paladin would do, especially when we have a path that is fighting evil and removing threats from the world. Pbp makes it a bit tougher to have these conversations vs sitting at the table. I'm good with either path, but also wouldn't mind a nudge from the GM to clarify the campaign directions.
Also, no offense intended Lothan/Javell on annoying the lady in the lake, I enjoy the RPing of the character and would be happy to hear him explain to the lake monster that "strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony."

It's possible I haven't explained carefully enough (or it's just gotten lost, since PBP is a yearslong thing, especially at the pace I'm going): If you are to intervene with Lowls' plans, you will need to follow Lowls by performing the same ritual he did.
From his notes, you've also discovered the only way to stop Thrushmoor from being forcibly drawn into Carcosa: You must activate three Star Stelae in Carcosa and defeat whoever is in control of the reflection of Thrushmoor already forming in that alien city.

Lol! Oh, heck no! None taken whatsoever. I got a kick out of it. :)
I was impressed. (Darn near up there with the T-man) ;) Pretty fitting statement actually. Lol!

I got a text from Al last night: “ I can't login, I'll keep checking, but if I'm absent Al will save his money and want to keep the book and be ready to go after the sword”
Sounds like Al is ready to go.
I hope Lothan returns and maybe I’ll convince him to give me his cell phone # so I can poke/check in on him.

Javell DeLeon |

Sorry, all. Work has just been kicking my butt and I get home late and am just too tired to want to do anything.
Apologies for being MIA. But, it's what I gotta do to knock out some annoying debt and it's just gonna take time.
I'll try to keep up at a better pace but there's no way I can promise that because that would be foolish of me if I'm honest.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Per selling stuff: You might as well sell that Ring of X-ray vision. I don't really see Lothan using it. I just don't see any real purpose behind it.
Outside of that, I'm good to go whenever.
Also: Liking the 'notyugh'. As in "not really an Otyugh". Clever. :)

I'll be traveling Thursday through Monday. I don't expect to update in that time (though it's possible). I may also still need Tuesday to catch up.
In the meantime, I'd suggest start thinking about leveling up (to 14!), as you're getting close. (Not there yet, so don't change your character, but worth thinking about choices.)

Tristain the Chalker |

Starflit |

Starflit, if you're pulling your starknife, I think you'd only get one attack, no? I think it won't matter, since the combined attacks are enough in this case to kill the creature, but just want to doublecheck.
Yep--brain fart on my part. I hemmed and hawed about what actions to take and decided that taking advantage of the bonus haste attack sounded best. Totally blanked on the rule about drawing a weapon being part of a move action, not just any movement like the 5-foot step.
My bad. I'll go bang my head against a wall and see if that helps clear the cobwebs. ;)

Starflit |

Starflit, you're out of the nausea area, so you're safe there. But what's the x3 indicator for?
That's the crit multiplier in the rare event that 'Flit can roll a nat 20 and then actually confirm it. When that happens, I usually add "additional" to the subsequent damage roll and try to remove damage that doesn't get tripled, like the bane damage.

I'm working to catch up. Did most of 'Flit's leveling up the day motteditor mentioned we'd gained a level, but I need to look closely at all the things her new headband of mental superiority changes. Hoping to have an update (and post) later today, but if that doesn't happen I having nothing on my holiday weekend schedule beyond making a batch of macaroni salad and some hot dogs, so it'll be done soon in any event.

Blech! I just reread the inquisitor's Solo Tactics ability and noticed a limitation that I'd missed before: "...all of the inquisitor’s allies are treated as if they possessed the same teamwork feats as the inquisitor for the purpose of determining whether the inquisitor receives a bonus from her teamwork feats. Since Bonded Mind doesn't give Starflit any bonus (it would've given her a whole new ability), it's not eligible for her to choose.
I'll be going over her Teamwork feats (Again!) later today or tonight to make sure she's eligible to use the ones I'd previously chosen for her, as well as which ones are available for her to swap into.

Hey all, may be a little slow to post over the next couple of days. My wife is fighting cancer and is feeling very crappy today. We ended up doing a run to the hospital and she’s getting fluids, but we may need to come back tomorrow. Just letting you know so no one thinks I disappeared if I don’t get a chance to post.
