Still here and following along. Not contributing because Al & Tenebrynn seem to have things well in hand.

Yowzer what a bad set of rolls!
I just had my annual viewing of Jaws a couple days back, so I feel the need to throw out a line from Matt Hooper: "I got that beat. I got that beat!"

Sorry, first-time inquisitor. For some reason I got it into my head that inquisitors prepare their spells beforehand like clerics.
EDIT: Heh, probably should've kept my mouth shut. It's early enough that maybe none of you saw the 'Flitshow* that was my post earlier.
* The way the dice roller is treating me in this game, this might become a real word and not just a one-off joke.

In the room below, the chalk board bashes the nearest skinstitch.
This utterly flummoxed me. First thought: There's a mimic down below pretending to be a chalk board? But why is it fighting on our side?
Second thought: Must be a spell-corrector thing. 'Sword' rhymes with 'board' but isn't spelled the same way...and the Paizo boards don't have a spell-correct feature!
Third thought: I must've missed something. After scrolling back a bit, I found Tristain's spiritual weapon post. Ah ha! That explains...nothing, actually.
Final thought/question: Why does Tristain's spiritual weapon take the form of a chalkboard?

O h n o.
I’ll try to asplain this this weekend.
To quote Inigo: “Let me e’splain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up.”
Starflit |
OK, that makes a certain amount of sense. (Plus, people who dress up like giant moths have no right to question the idiosyncrasies of others.)

Hey all,
I'm going on vacation Monday-Thursday, so I don't expect to be posting at all. Beyond that, my wife is home for the next two weeks (through May 22-23), so I may be posting sporadically in that time. And then the next weekend is PaizoCon, so I don't know if I'll be prepping for that the final week of May. So in total, I may be posting infrequently until June 1 or 2.
Enjoy the break, recuperate, figure out what you want to do next. We're not in combat, so posts from me are less complex, which increases the chance I can get in and out quickly with something for this game (though also means there's less impetus to resolve an action scene like my other two games are in the midst of).
Tenebrynn |
And I'll be leaving for my annual CabinCon trip that first weekend of June, so I'll be gone just as you're getting back into things, Mott!

I'm going over the treasure sheet - thought we might do a little divvy while we're in town. To that end though, we do have a cloak of resistance +2 that someone should take. I suggest Tenebrynn, but I bet it's good for just about anyone.
Take a moment and examine the Treasure Sheet (link) and let me know if there's anything anyone wants to keep.
Thanks!
Starflit |
Nothing there that Starflit wants/needs. I did finally add the potions to her character sheet, though (thanks for the reminder).

Just to clarify, I’ve been flavoring and playing at Tenebrynn bleaching 2 different ways.
1) by boredom, which hasn’t left her fully bleached yet and has been staved off by shock, pain, or adventuresome excitement.
2) by accruing burn; I’ve hinted at this for a while, but as Tenebrynn acquires more burn throughout the day, her hair bleaches more and she uses air blasts less and less, favoring electric blasts more and more. Resting, and getting rid of the burn, has thus far returned her to normal.
Starflit dropping was the first time Tenebrynn has blown through all her burn and her reserve in a single day.

By the time mott’s back, I’ll be off to CabinCon again. Earliest I’ll be able to jump back into things is Tuesday.
Good luck with these guards if they give you all trouble!
Starflit |
Bah! That's what I get for rushing a post! I didn't recall Mott's part about the guard being more worried about breaking and entering than the threat of the swarms until after I posted. I considered deleting the post, but I'm not sure that's acceptable.
Also, it would've made a whole lot of sense for Starflit to have scanned the guards with detect evil before approaching them.
Tenebrynn |
I’m back! Thanks, everyone, for remembering that Tenebrynn is the lock picker for the group and for forgetting (I guess?) that she hasn’t been able to fly since speaking to the Mad Poet. =P

Not having Disable Device, I never gave it a second thought ('til the acid bath just now), but with Starflit's high Perception modifier, she ought to be the one trying to detect mundane traps. Sorry--still learning all the ins-and-outs of my PC!

I’m still finding out mistakes and learning how kineticists work, so don’t sweat it. =P

I just dumped most of this floor's contents in the game thread. There are valuables (a couple are noted), but my impression is you're not planning on looting this place, so I didn't go into that much detail. That said, there may be some magic in here as well, depending on how/i you're searching. If I mentioned something and you're interested in more about it, let me know.

I feel that Starflit would be too classy/non-goofy to say or think the following when spying the kitty purse...but not so her player!
Me-OW! That must've cost the poor thing all of its nine lives!

This one's so bad I'm going to spoiler the answer/pun so you don't have to read it if you'd rather not.
So...what might we say if we run into another one of the false Miacknian Muns, this one eating taffy?
"Look! Faux-Mun chew!"
Tennebrynn deserves half the blame/credit for actually typing 'Faux-Mun' in the thread; my own twisted mind couldn't resist adding the last bit.

There is another section of this dungeon, but you've failed every check to find it. And since it's not adventure-critical and we're doing PBP, I'm not going to find some way to push you into it. We can just move on to the next section of the adventure.
That said, as you're doing your shopping, you find an old stall with a woman in a shawl covering her hair. She gestures you closer and makes you an offer. "I don't want any money, but if you would like you can take this."
She holds out a fresh new level for each of you. [ooc]Everyone should be level 11. Do your shopping and then we'll move on.

Despite the name, the book appears to have been written by an elven woman calling herself Wren, and appears to be as much a recipe book as a guide to smut? It's hard to make sense of it.
Not sure if the Search function's not working fully or if I just missed something, but the only Wren I saw was a doctor guy who was previously a patient at the asylum from Book 1. I missed the parts where he was revealed to be an elven woman and travelogue writer.
Can someone help me out here?

How about this? Kyffin? Al? Starflit? Can I buy you this? Is Tristain proficient in light armor? Can I buy it for him?
I could save another 6 grand, but it’ll only be for an extra +1 to my Con modifier, which is boring and won’t make any real appreciable difference.
Kyffin Rhees |
Tenebrynn, that's very cool! And a generous offer! I'm headed toward the heavy armor side of life though - gonna pick up some mithral plate when I get the cash together. And Kyffin wouldn't want to take out a loan just yet - he's pretty far away from it still. :)
Too bad Tristain can't use it - that would be cool.
Tenebrynn |
Maybe Al would like it so he doesn’t break his knees jumping into basements to fight golems and oozes.
