Distracted Ogre in a Tower: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
The party, though clumsy and making way too much noise, still manages to not be detected by the Ogres at Fort Rannick. The party makes its way to the pond.
What once might have been a crystal-clear mountain lake has become an abattoir. Partially butchered and mutilated bodies—some human, some horse, some giant eagle—lie sprawled along the shore. A waterfall plummets from the cliffs to the west into the pool, which keeps much of the water clean save for near the shores where the dead lie thick.
The party passes through cascades of falling water and upon soggy planks that lead into a cave. The floor of this cave is dotted with puddles. Patches of pale moss and fungus grow in sheets on the wall, while to the north, a five-foot-wide passageway angles up into darkness. Thankfully, there were no traps or creatures in the cave.
Map is up at top. The scale is really small, so you will need to zoom in on it. What does the party do next?

He then clanks off in the direction of the cave without waiting for much of answer.
I figure that I lead, and we have Garrath at the back, as his speed can get him everywhere quickly.
Where the front is most likely spot for danger.

As Brandark leads down the scary dark cave, he sees it opening up into a larger cavern. When he notices a lizard on the cave floor, it is too late. A wave of shocking energy flows through the front of the party.
Only Brandark and Garrath are close enough to be affected. Both must make a DC16 Reflex Save or take 63 points of damage. 31 points of damage if you save. This is worse than a trap.

Elektra will know that these are Shocker Lizards. When grouped together they can combine their energies to deliver quite a shock. Individually, they are not very harmful. But in numbers, they are a force to be reckoned.
The Shocker Lizard's electric shock is a Supernatural ability of these magical creatures.

Vale drops his bow, then moves up to the nearest Shocker Lizard drawing his battleaxe. He smiles and hacks at one of the Lizards. But his battleaxe glances off the Lizards slimy hide.

The other Black Arrow, Kaven Windstrike, follows behind. When he sees Vale's hack miss, he fires an arrow at the Lizard. But the bow is not Kaven's best weapon.

Garrath moves up and strikes one of the Lizards.
Elektra pulls out a scroll and hits one of the Lizards with a Magic Missile.
Stone channels healing energy toward Brandark and Garrath. Brandark quickly begins to recover from the power wave of electrical energy.
Flynn will be heroic.
Vale moves up and strikes at one of the Lizards, only to have his blow deflected by the Lizard's slippery hide.
Kaven misses his bow shot. It is not his favorite weapon.
Brandark brings up False Life from his Sanhedrin Medallion. He stands, reacquiring his trusty axe.
One Lizard tries to bite Vale, the other Lizards try to bite Garrath.

Brandark pulls out his bow, and sticks the second lizard with an arrow. The lizard falls unconscious.
The third and fifth lizards continues to snap at the big human. But neither of the Lizards were able to bite into the big Barbarian.
