Hey, guys, on a wholly unrelated note, Villain Codex I is out! This is exciting to me, as it contains an NPC I wrote—my first-ever foray into game design.
Belated congrats! May your villain execute TPKs of strangers well into the future.

[5:17:28 PM] [Kobold Cleaver]: hey bro
[5:17:30 PM] KC: vet this for me
[5:17:44 PM] KC: This is the post I am about to make, but not since Erip's death have I hesitated so much in posting something.
[5:17:46 PM] KC: It's
[5:17:51 PM] KC: A riddle.
[5:18:37 PM] KC: http://i.cubeupload.com/AnKDnb.png
...Words shift and writhe upon flat stone, taking on several different tongues before revealing a message of glowing Common words.(if you can't load that link)
His items were only for greatest needTrue death lies in your selfish greed
Above in his death Icosiol lives yet
You aught mind here the steps, rather than what you get.
[5:20:18 PM] [Gark]: looks fine?
[5:21:22 PM] KC: Well like
[5:21:26 PM] KC: how do you react to it
[5:21:40 PM] Gark: f#%%in hard riddle i'm too busy to solve
[5:21:43 PM] Gark: that's my reaction
[5:21:46 PM] KC: Yeah, that's the problem.
[5:21:53 PM] KC: Riddles are always iffy in games.
[5:22:02 PM] KC: But I'll post it.

I thought the door already opened?

The third rises up to the ceiling forty feet above.
S@$# I made a dunder.
The ceiling is approximately fifteen feet, not forty. I had to copy a lot of very precisely-worded text over from the magazine for that description and apparently that error slipped by me.
If Farrukh wants to revise his action, he's fully welcome to do so. I apologize for the erroring. In my haste to try to provide more frequent updates than we've had for the bulk of this adventure, I may have rushed past important aspects. :P

Sorry I haven't been posting as much recently--I've been trying to catch up on my sleep.
Carina Viera
I was checking the Campaign Info tab to see if I could get to the House Rules for a refresher on how Miss Chances work, and I can't access them.

Maybe stepping off the pillar reverses it?
Also, IF we get some indication that things are going poorly, Rodrigo can try to DD us up there and we'll just eat the shunt damage. If he summons an earth elemental or something with teleportation they could check on Farrukh while we're goofing off with card games, which maybe would be in keeping with Rodrigo's laziness, if not with his relaxed/non-anxious disposition.
I have gaseous form as an option still but I think the room will zap me . . .
Carina Viera
What sort of action would it be to pull the seal out of the pillar?
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
I suppose it's a moot point now but are you saying the creature is immune to blind or it's immune to blind via dirty trick because it has too many eyes to effectively rake?
The latter feels a little martials vs castery. With a natural 20 maybe it was just a very very good eye rake?
Carina Viera
Well, here's the plan I'm thinking of:
I hit Farrukh with my CSW extract, take a 5' step to get to the seal in the floor, then spend an AP to get another action to yank it out of the floor. That's assuming pulling the seal out of the floor costs a Standard and not a Move--if it only costs a Move, then I can do it without spending an AP.

...kinda makes me wish I took the Healing Bomb discovery at some point...
Carina Viera
Yep, when we're done here, I'm going shopping for syringes. Assuming I can't craft them myself.
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
Most creatures with multiple sets of eyes are immune to blinding in general, as I recall. Whether it be via Blindness/Deafness, Dirty Trick, or anything else.
Which creatures are those? The only things I know of that are immune to blind are typically things without eyes.
Beholders™ are very much not immune to blind.
Tanith 'Kordson' Creed
I cannot find a single creature that's immune to blind that isn't immune by virtue of not having eyes.
I am genuinely curious if this is a martials vs caster thing. Would the dirty trick have worked if it'd been 'dropping a sheet on it' or 'kicking up a cloud of dust'. I picked raking the eyes because it seemed appropriate for a magical bear tattoo but if it's a problem I could come up with something else.

Martials vs. castery it may be, but this creature can't be blinded with a simple eye rake. It's one of those places where a disparity is essentially unavoidable without heavy modifications. Let's say there are only a hundred eyes on its front. How do you rake all those in less than six seconds?
One example (from 3.5, like the beholder) of what Sundaken's thinking of is in the Critical Fumble deck, where many-eyed creatures are stated to be immune to being blinded by single instances (not unlike how a many-headed creature is immune to being killed by a single decapitation).

Bear in mind the only place you've found those were with Filge. He basically invented them. I see alchemy as a slightly newer realm of study in Greyhawk.
Removing the seal is a move action.
Carina Viera
Would I be able to craft syringes with Craft (Alchemy), then?

Is kicking up dust a viable option?
Kobold Catgirl
You would need a glassblower's help. Luckily, you guys are heading for some locations soon where resources will be pretty easy to acquire.
Dust is different. This isn't exactly a baseball field, but dust (or blood, sweat, tears, or other various fluids would be more likely to work. Dirty tricks, for me, are really an imagination game—any effect is possible if the technique makes some sense.

KC, is there any way I could get variant channel effects by spending a couple action points or something?

Did we determine if the seeking enchant overcame mirror image?

Just posted my actions, Farrukh.

Do we have the resources to raise someone from the dead without needing to reincarnate them?

Honestly, I wasn't sure if the demon COULDN'T full attack on the same targets: just switching the subjects of each attack suite. Longswords on Tanith and eyebeams on Carina would still technically be a full attack on the same targets.
Buuut I reasoned it wouldn't make too much difference anyways, since Tanith's got a much higher armored AC than touch, and Carina's got a good touch AC, so with this setup it wouldn't have killed them. Maybe.
