Garfaulk watches as the magic-infused shot fired, hit one of the smilers, and redoubled back into his weapon, seeing it shoot arcane sparks and bits of smoke and metal from it. Cursing mid-song before continuing his chant, he the dwarf rushes in next to Zeke. His fingers began to spark with a blue energy as he grabbed a hold of his friend's weapon, leaving the arcane engery wrapping around it, filling in the cracks.

Garfaulk fixes Zekes gun... Charles is still missing.

Jolga places a stinking cloud in the very corner of the room. It affects four Smilers! Only one resists. Those affected do the only thing they can do... they try to run! The one in the grease is forced to move slowly and only goes 15 feet.

Two Smilers fire their guns! One at Zeke, one at Wulf. Both are hit; Zeke for 2 and Wulf for 8. After firing, the Smiler walks out of the grease and into fresh air.

Jolga smiles as the Smiling Men cough and hack. That will make things hard for them. He calls to Wulf "We'll deal with these. Destroy those who flee! Return to us if there is too much back there!"

Just an idea. If we'd rather not split the party, that's fine with me. I figure Wulf is almost guaranteed to make a DC 19 fort save against a spell.

Jolga steps forward and evokes the colors of the borealis on both of the Smiling men who are still attacking.

"I don't want to waste anything, as Ton said let's keep this moving!" He shouts out pounding his chest following his friend dipping his shoulder into the door opening it in one.


You push through into the double doors ahead, which Charles left open, and go hallway, and into the next room... where Charles is standing at the north end, though you can't see him.

Well over a dozen large glass tanks sit against the walls of this oval-shaped chamber. The tanks themselves are semiopaque with condensation, grit, and filth, but several of them seem to contain some sort of figure within. Each tank has a metal-rimmed door on its front allowing the contents to be accessed, and one tank to the north has been wrapped with several coils of rope.

let me know if the map looks messed up. I seem to remember my live group having a hard time with this map for some reason.

A bit of a tricky wicket as far as PBP format goes. One player wants to move quickly and steps into a dangerous situation, forcing the other players to go along with them. Remember that ignoring your surroundings can be dangerous to you and ALL the players. It could have been worse though, I didn't get them a surprise round. Perhaps it calls for an in game conversation about rushing.

Wulf was right there along side Ton pushing to move on and take out what's left of the place and didn't take a second look at the tanks of what seemed like dead things.

A zombie thing spontaneously combusts, dealing 10 damage. Ton point blank fires at the same one, putting it down.

Meanwhile, Wulf does a little Wulf-patented chop-chop, and ends two more.

The zombies move quickly at you, with great clubs... They don't seem like zombies, in their speed and coordination. They have already cut off your escape out of the room. They begin to hammer their clubs down on you!

1 swing on Ton, 1 on Jolga, 2 on Zeke, 3 on Garfaulk, 3 on Wulf!

Only Garfaulk is hit, once for 7 damage . After these initial attacks, you can't help but notice how poorly they wield these clubs.

Does Groetus's blessing of 3d6 when the target has fewer than 10 hp extend to undead creatures? Maybe undead within 10 of their maximum? :)

Wulf laughs. "These things... they're nothing to be scared of! Is this necromancy?!" He swings his hammer out in a wide arc again, attempting to smash in their heads.

The monsters weakly swing their clubs again... (Charles 1, Zeke 2, Jolga 1, Wulf 2) The strange monsters can't hope to do any damage... they do not even look proficient with those huge clubs.

But behind Ton, doors burst open! And standing there are four strange monsters, a disgusting combination of rusty armor and blades mixed with the rotting flesh of zombies pic in roll20 journal---rust-risen! Also new pictures that were forgotten- Aldronard and Gunshy the hapless ogre.

Two of the rust-risen attack! The drills grafted into their arms spin and whirl and they try to implant them into Garfaulk and Ton'iel! But no! They can't get through the heroes' armor.

Whoo wee. Eights attacks highest I rolled is a 12. I'm on classic GM Mustache dry spell.

These new zombies seem to be sick experiments blending metal and undead corpses! Watching Ton fire upon them, Zeke suspects that the electricity may be helping them rather than hindering!


Despite the electric damage, Ton still manages to take one down and seriously damage another.

But the undead persist in their attacks...

Several of the weaker monsters are still swinging clubs,to no avail as they all miss...

The rust-risen seem like the more dangerous threat! Garfaulk is left on the front lines and gets a serious of attacks. The rust-risen are able to drill with an arm and bite down with a rusty jaw at the same time!

Garfaulk is drilled and bit for 9 damage total! Jolga is drilled for 6!
