Ezekiel "Zeke" Smith |

Zeke stares at the ogre and considers what he knows about them.
Knowledge Local check: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16 (+2 from heightened awareness)
Then Zeke takes another step back out of the ogre's reach and magically propels another coin at the slow-moving humanoid.
Coin shot, ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 + 2 + 1 - 1 - 4 = 14 (BAB+DEX+enhancement+bless-Deadly Aim-firing into combat)
Gold coin shot, magic bludgeoning/piercing damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 7 (CL+enhancement+Deadly Aim)
Getting those bad rolls out of the RNG for the rest of the party! :P

Ton'iel Wexley |

Ah I don't know what to do here. I don't want to waste ammo. I put out serious hurt but I have to start being conservative with these battery charges. I would have loved to have been able to delay until after Wulf to see if he could kill it but I don't want it taking a swing at us
Weighing up his options, Ton levels the gun again and blasts the ogre right in the face. This time, the glob of molten metal sticks to the ogre's face and clings there.
Primary shot (spellstrike): 1d20 + 3 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 - 2 = 22 (BAB+Dex+Magic 1+Arcane Pool 1-deadly aim-spell combat)
Fire damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 and Frost damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3 and Shock damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
The spell I was casting is Mudball. The ogre is now blind (no save) for one round. At the start of it's next turn it can make a DC16 reflex save to shake off the mud

Ton'iel Wexley |

Oh sorry, I automatically went back to my interpretation. I play it like that in other games so forgot we'd agreed it the other way. Go for it.

GM Mustache |

Jolga casts bless! Zeke shoots another gold coin at the monster, hitting it.
"Nooo! Guns, no!" The ogre cries out in pain and anger.
mud: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
As Ton covers its face with mud, the ogre staggers back blinded. And then it gets another shot in his head. It falls, never even getting the chance to swing its massive club.

Charles 8
ROUND 2-----
Smilers 21
Jolga 17
Zeke 15
Ton'iel 14
Go if you are bold!

Charles Caskgrip |

Invisible Charles waits to see what the smilers do in response to the loud guns.

Garfaulk Sharpstone |

Thinking fast about the ruckus they made, Garfaulk focused on the grenades they'd seen before, making a clear image in his head of them, then mutters an incantation. Two large looking bombs appeared in a flourish of sparks, each looking spikey and dangerous with a few bullets attached, with a sack of black ooze for good measure. The sparks then move to create a small crater in front of the ogre's body, then split in two to create a few crates off to the left and right. They may not have been real, but Garfaulk stepped into one of them, making sure his stuff, especially his metal gear, was solidly inside the box, hoping it would at least throw off anyone else coming "if we hide, maybe we can do ambush part two! he quietly exclaimed from inside the box
if too much, lemme know, but it all fits inside the size of the illusion

Charles Caskgrip |

Yeah, hes not wasting his invisibility by attacking just yet. Actually, never mind!
Charles moves to the northern door and checks again for traps/locks. perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29

Ezekiel "Zeke" Smith |

As the ogre falls, Zeke blows off the wispy metallic particles that have collected on the mouth of his pistol. Then he looks nervously toward the door and offers a quick prayer to Groetus. Help me sow wildness and confusion through our enemies in Your Name, O Lord, he whispers. He glances at Ton'iel standing behind him with a slightly guilty expression.

Wulf Torstein |

I'll continue my rage, but again. I think I'll have to pass and wait to see what happens with Garfaulk I dont want to mess up his plan.
As the Ogre falls Wulf smiles with how quickly they took it out. He then spots the magic Garfaulk is throwing out and takes a knee, nodding at the Dwarf.
In work again and can't see the map move me to a safeish place

Garfaulk Sharpstone |

well his plan is just to have everyone hide while they come out to inspect the grenades, then attack them again, but for that, people need to hide behind or in the boxes lol. Wish I had roll 20 access atm, but basically they're just on the side of the building to look babe inconspicuous

GM Mustache |

will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
The door open to the east opens, and a Smiler walks out into the main room. "Gunshhhy, where are you?" He looks out the front doors and sees the body lying there. "Raise the alarm! We have intruders! Get the front door closed!"
Several smilers go into the main room. Several more are making their way down their hallway to the main room.
will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
A second Smiler makes it to the middle of the room, and he see right through the illusion. Jolga is standing... right.... there.
"They are at our thressshhold you fool! Fire!"
gun: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 81d8 ⇒ 2 The bullet goes wide.
will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Another Smiler has a look at the front door... he can't see through the illusion. He looks confused.
All PCs go!

Ton'iel Wexley |

I think we should flood in and hit them as they come into the room. If they are gathered together we can hit them with aoo spells and lock them in place with the reinforcements unable to get into the room to help. Then we can pick them off as they come through the door one by one
Happy to talk about that in character if you prefer if it's too meta

Jolga Krak |

Jolga nods thoughtfully as he seems to have been thinking for a little while. "I think that Dinvaya was partially right. The stars are the home of all that is divine. But I think their physical substance must be a hot burning ball of some sort. After all, how could they be so bright?" His furrowed brow relaxes in a satisfied manner. "Yes that seems right. Heavens help me!" He shouts as he flings some bat guano in the air! A small star appears over the Smilers inside the building.
Fireball damage: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 1, 4) = 13
DC 19 reflex save for half. I can't see Charles but I can only see those four Smilers so I'll just target them.

GM Mustache |

The explosion blasts the entire room! It catches all four Smilers and an invisible Charles, who was standing nearby. I don't see any logical way past that. You would center the blast on the Smilers and he will be in there. Charles roll that reflex on your next turn.
reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 full
reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 full
reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 half
reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 half

Garfaulk Sharpstone |

Leaning against the wall, Garfaulk turns away from the heat as the fireball tears through the room. Cackling with glee at Jolga's hidden talent, he reloads his weapon, shouting out "Now tha's wha I call FIREPOWER!" All this sneaking about was hardly the dwarf's style. Singing loudly, he began bellowing a war chant designed to keep people alert during an incursion with it's shifting melody, though there were of course references to taking out goblins-but in dwarvish, it just sounded deep and powerful as it began shaking the whole place!
Inspire and tremor!

Ton'iel Wexley |

Ton rushes into the room and with a flourish of his hand conjures a patch of magical grease in amongst the Smilers.
Trying to get as many as possible. DC 15 Reflex save or fall prone
Apologies, I cannot access the map in work at the moment, just want to be relatively toward the back of the room but with a clear firing line if I need to shoot next round

Charles Caskgrip |

reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23What about that northern door check?

Charles Caskgrip |

He'd see the logic in that, no worries.

GM Mustache |

Charles can safely proceed through the northern door. It is clear.
reflex grease: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
reflex grease: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
At the back of the room, a patch of grease appears. One of the Smilers falls over!
I think you have five rounds left, Ton. We've had about 3 rounds of battles and only a little bit of waiting around time.
Wulf, Zeke, and Charles can go yet.

Charles Caskgrip |

Charles goes through the door! Can't seem to get him there on the map.

Charles Caskgrip |

Charles creeps to the door at the end of the hallway he didn't get to properly scout. Better late than never, he listens in carefully. Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28

Ezekiel "Zeke" Smith |

Zeke hustles forward into the room and whispers, "Charles? Are you there?" He waits a brief second for a response before casting color spray at the two Smilers standing before them.
Cast through his pistol, so the DC is 17.

Charles Caskgrip |

"Vague question. I'm in the northern hallway, will ambush the thing in here if it comes out. Let me know if I'm needed."

GM Mustache |

I understand you are trying to be nice to invisible Charles, but if he gets a faceful of color spray that is certainly his fault at this point! Since the scene is now a battle zone with guns and fireballs blasting, I don't think whispering is going to help anymore.
As Charles inspects the next door he remembers that he saw the next room already. It is the one with the floor-to-ceiling tanks.
will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
One of the Smilers collapses!

Charles Caskgrip |

Oops,I thought that was a Message spell. And, yeah, Charles knows the risks he's taking.

Ezekiel "Zeke" Smith |

Zeke figured that would only help if Charles were standing 15’ ahead of him. Just a little color posting with the color spray!
Speaking of which, this is the first time someone has rolled a 20 on a save for a spell cast through the gun. Overload! The gun gains the broken condition.
Zeke gasps in alarm as his gun cracks with a loud pop! The energy it contains is too great to be contained!

Charles Caskgrip |

Also, I thought Charles had seen someone else in that room. Nobody there? If so, back to the melee.

Charles Caskgrip |

[Ooc]Ah! Then to there!"[/b]

Wulf Torstein |

With his head down Wulf sprints in after Zeke, not wanting him to stand alone. "This is chaos! I love it!" He shouts seeing the room smolder and small fires starting about the place. "Come! Come! All you freks! Come to me and try your best!" With the challenge shouts out he lifts up his hammer and smashes it out on an unexpecting smiler.
I'm large also. So any AOE roll away

Sorry for lack of posts, work is busy. Then there are 100 other things going on but I am reading!

GM Mustache |

ROUND SUMMARY!
After blowing a huge fireball in the room, the party rushes in. Zeke shoots a color spray, those breaks his gun in the process, while Wulf runs in and whiffs!
Ton uses grease to slip up the floor...
Garfaulk sings throughout!
No one knows what happened to Charles...
Then, the Smilers retaliate! 3 more run in from the side hallway, and they do their best to spread out. As you've come to expect, they fire their pistols. What they lack in power they make up for in numbers and wretched enthusiasm! The one in the grease stands up and fires too. Only one doesn't shoot a gun; he throws a grenade! It lands outside the door and blinks. Wulf is hit three times before DR! (2,5,4). Zeke is hit once for 3.

Ton'iel
ROUND 4----
Garfaulk
Wulf 2,5, 4 damage
Charles
Go if you are bold!
EVERYONE GO!

Ton'iel Wexley |

Did those smilers have to run in through the grease or came in through a different entrance?
EDIT: Wait I see the map now.
Seeing that this might become a protracted fight, and with the leader still nowhere to be seen, Ton decides to protect himself further.
Casting Mirror Image on myself
Images: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Jolga Krak |

Jolga shuts the doors then moves to the side. "Mr. Shady, please step back south and west." As soon as Ton does so, Jolga unleashes a cloud of incredibly horrible stench on the Smilers.
Stinking cloud on all of the Smilers except the stunned one. DC 19 fort save or be nauseated. I think Wulf can handle that... *fingers crossed* Is there a way for me to place the spell effect on roll20 as a player? Not sure how to...

GM Mustache |

At the end of last round, Garfaulk, Ton, and Jolga were all standing outside the place. Now everyone is inside. Garfaulk specifically said he moved, but Ton and Jolga didn't say that. edit: Ok, Ton did move inside a turn ago, he just didn't move in roll20. Jolga, you for sure were outside the room at the end of last round. If you want to both move inside and close the door you can, but then you can't cast that spell.

Jolga Krak |

Ah I definitely moved intentionally into the room last round but didn't say so. When I checked the map at the start of this round, I was already inside the door. So I should say so every time I move?
