Oh, no, that's not why I did that. I got over my crappy rolls. Honestly, this was my original intent when I realized how this was going, though if we do come up with a better idea I'm all for it. The vigilante class would be an interest idea. It would be ironic, as my vigilante identity would be my real one and the civilian identity would be my false one... We'd just have to come up with a really good way for Pylos disappear. With spells like Speak With The Dead and myriad resurrection spells, a random body would be pointless.

If Fox let's you you could retrain as a vigilante with your civilian face being lawful neutral and your true face being chaotic good.

All I wanted was for Pylos to go into the church and say a deep, heart felt prayer to Asmodeus, as punishment for reckless swindling. That was it.

The church is not suspicious of Pylos, he played the interrogation very well. They simply believe that he is being corrupted by the other gods, and would be delighted to get a Thrune back into the fold. There is no mass interrogation about everything he knows. It was just going to be a regular service, along with a chance to meet the high priest. I like building connections with not just allies, but enemies too. Makes defeating them all that much sweeter.

It wasn't a big deal. If you guys want, we can speed past these "derails" and just play out the book exactly as written. We can even skip past the various side missions and just get to the end.

Male Human Fighter 20/Paladin 14/Books-A-Million Salebook Specialist 10/Aspiring Writer 13

Oh! I guess it is best to quote Homer Simpson: DOH!

And I'm fine with side missions! I actually enjoy them. I'm actually preparing to run a Carrion Crown campaign starting later this month and I wanted to add some more side quests to really spice things up!

I apologize about that gm. I think I speak for all of us on how foolish (and silly) we all must feel they we were panicking for nothing. I probably use the wrong words when I said derailed. I think we all went overboard in trying to solve this. While it did create some interesting rp moments, I feel like we may have also insulted our talented and wondrous gm! I really like what you did gm to the AP and I am deeply sorry if I sounded ungrateful about all you have done for us players. I truly am sorry about it.

What they said. I've actually had a blast so far with this game (even if I can't win a dice roll for anything), and the RP in this game has been some of the best I've been in since I started playing in PbP. I know that I've been a bit b****y about my dice rolls, but that has nothing to do with this game or your style as GM. The dice bots just don't like me. Please don't change this to straight out of the book...

Do wish I knew that I just had to do a prayer before all this started, but the RP we've been in because of this has be awesome. Now I want to see this play out however it works...

M Human Fighter 2

Well Phillip has just chopped off Pylos's head so...whoops!

DM Intervention 1/1

Thank you guys. I really didn't mean to freak you out like that. I have no intention of doing anything that would ruin the adventure. Believe it or not I really do want you to succeed. I just want to make sure you're adequately challenged along the way, and are rewarded for your efforts.

I'm very grateful to have you all as my players. I'm sure we've all got horror stories of various games we've played where the group just doesn't work out. This group works really well (that extends to the Rise of the Runelords group as well, Phillip and Pylos). I feel wonderful hearing that you appreciate the extra effort, and the dedication to story and roleplay. It really means a lot to me.

Right. So where do we go from here, eh? You guys still gonna fake your deaths and find a new hideout?

Actually we might be able to use this to our advantage. Since we will probably need disguises in case we need to be fake as asmodeans, maybe Pylos could ask for some robes as he encountered some poor hapless Asmodean missionaries who were robbed of their robes and so to help them out, Pylos would like to get them new ones. They want to remain nameless so they don't get in trouble. Pylos offers some of the treasure we found in the grave as payment for the robes. The amount of money should keep the priest quiet. If not Pylos can ask about it where Kethaera will be convienently stationed as a pompous merchant woman who will praise Pylos as being a loyal son of Cheliax and bringing honor to the House Thrune. This should convince the acting high priest to sell Pylos the robes and keep the matter hush hush.

And your welcome. We are all loving the campaign. I'm looking forward to seeing how we fare in saving those prisoners from fhe salt works!

That plan is a bit complicated Kethaera. Too many loose ends in my opinion. Let's just let this ride, keep our money and not take the unnecessary risk.

Losing as clergy in the asmodean church is not a good idea. Too structured and rigid.

That's true. I did give it some more thought after I woke up this morning. I'm just trying to take advantage of a bad situation. We can get some idea of a partial layout of the church. It won't be a lot but it'll give us a basic idea of where things are for when we attack the church later on in this AP. Besides since our Lord Mayor is an Asmodean inquisitor we'll have to take them down eventually.

But at the moment let's see what happens. Pylos might be able to get some idea of what we might face in there if he happens to pass by or see something he wasn't supposed to see but if he makes it look like he's just astonished of the splendor of the Asmodean faith the priests there might spill some secrets that they weren't supposed to tell people.

DM Intervention 1/1

That's true. Realistically, the church should be able to put two and two together, or at least enough to ask questions. I just don't want that to happen. Awkward.

Not a whole lot actually. Just the back of the books really. Not much besides that.

I do own them I'll admit that but I mainly look at the maps to help me when I can't get my iPhone to work right which its doing right now!. I try not to read APs that I'm in as I don't want to spoil the story. I did read some of them prior to joining this campaign but my memory isn't what it used to be sadly (eating a lot of fish to resolve that actually).

Plus I'm really good at not spoiling things for others.

DM Intervention 1/1

Oh alright, sorry bout that. You've had a knack of pinpointing certain story arcs, and I was getting suspicious.

I own all the AP books up to the first couple of Giantslayer books, though i don't think I've read more than the bonus stuff in the back, like the beastiaries or new player options. Otherwise I just stick with the Player's Guides.

If everybody wants to toss me into the wolf's den, I suppose I have no choice... Long live Asmodeus!

That's alright. I fully understand. Nothing ruins a good campaign like a spoiler will.

Besides and don't take this the wrong way, but with the amount of changes you're doing it wouldn't matter if I did read the books! That is in my opinion the hallmark of a great gm! I'm actually learning a good bit for when I start my carrion crown campaign in a few weeks!

And like Pylos I do tend to read the bonus content like the articles on the deities or the monster entries.

DM Intervention 1/1

Yeah... I can't argue that XD. I've definitely made a lot of changes. The main story is still there though, of course. I just... add some more flavor!

I hope your Carrion Crown game goes well, Kethaera. It was the first campaign I ever played when I first started playing pathfinder. I was a dwarf barbarian named Gauwyn who was known for surviving anything. He eventually converted to the faith of Iomedae to help combat the evil forces. Good story.

I hope I didn't scare anyone (It's not even Halloween yet! ;P ) No I'm not leaving (I'm having way too much fun with y'all in this adventure!).

So I've been looking for a new job (I still have a job, just trying to find one that pays a bit more and is closer to home), and I've been doing it on my iPhone. The problem is that I forgot to take into account that I'm on my parents' data plan and I forgot to keep an eye on how much data I was using. Long story short, I used up a lot of data. So, we have 8 days left in the billing cycle before our data usage resets.

While this will reduce my posting rate a bit, I'm going to try and keep on posting on my laptop before and after work if possible. I just wanted to let everyone know about this and I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.

We just need to, like, hide in a hole and do pushups and spar until we're like level 30. No risk of operations going completely pear-shaped.
