I actually pulled a classic idiotic mistake. Had my water bottle next to the laptop. Knocked it over when I sneezed, spilling it over the keyboard.

The local Apple store techs were unable to retrieve the data, so now I'm looking for alternative tech service providers.

The crab is a little bit of an HP sponge to be magic missile-spammable, having around 60 HP. You can definitely still use the wands if you wanted to spend the charges, but it might cost you quite a few. Thoughts?

Hum...well, I'd hate to have to use up all or nearly all of my wand charges or spells and I don't want to hold things up for the group since everyone else has already expressed interest in just going around and being on our way. So we can just move on.

Back to game-related things...

You've been out of Kintargo for some time - likely two weeks by the time you finally return - and I don't believe we put too much thought into what happens to the rebellion while you were away as far as rebellion actions go. It would make sense that any leadership bonuses you'd normally have were gone while you were away, and any teams you were managing didn't have their actions available.

I have to ask though, was forgetting about the rebellion subsystem (upkeep-activities-event) a result of just not enjoying that aspect of the game, or was it just a "we're busy with other things, forget about it"? Or perhaps some of you are just too Chaotic-aligned to really care about such a thing while away? Open to hearing your thoughts. I'm asking because there are ways to run the game a little less dependent on the rebellion system.

Honestly? It slipped my mind on the player side of things, even though in retrospect it's not something that Morvena herself would've forgotten about.

And the reason it probably slipped my mind as a player is because I generally don't enjoy the large majority of the subsystems Paizo tends to put into their APs/products. It's not a reflection on you as a GM or the other players, just a personal thing. If I've got to micromanage stuff I enjoy doing it much more in single-player games.

The Rebellion mechanics have been few and far between. I like the way it breaks up the action for a while.

The Rebellions rules probably cover absences, but if not, it might make sense to suffer penalties to the various leadership positions, modifying the usual bonuses.

Actually I think we should concentrate more on the Rebellion mechanics (even though I get a little bit lost with the mechanics). It keeps the party in focus on our goal of freeing Kintargo, instead of the usual things adventurers strive for...treasure and magic, he he.

As you may expect, Victor isn't HUGELY invested in the rebellion. He is, he enjoys screwing with Thrune and his lackies, but its not always #1 on his list. I think he's a bit too unstable sometimes to focus.

As far as my personal thing with the mechanics I mostly just forgot, and there isn't much Victor can do from afar. I also didn't judge the time as long as it was.

We went out of town, so it made sense to not think about the Rebellion itself. I didn't make a big deal about it since it made story sense. Plus we're on miniquests.

The mechanics were a good way to remind us that we're more than murderhobos, we're leaders. I like it.

Okay, cool. It seems most just forgot and it didn't really make sense to try to manage a rebellion having not actually been in town. I didn't put any thought into the logistics of how would that have even worked... Dispatch the Silver Raven figurines as carrier pigeons to dictate the actions for the week?

There's actually nothing Paizo provided as far as what to do when the players are outside of Kintargo, so I think it would make sense to just take away the bonuses granted from you guys being abroad. The organization can continue to operate even with you guys away, but at a reduced capacity, meaning I will still roll for the two weeks, and choose activities that your NPC allies might have (or roll them randomly).

I'll have an update posted tonight, it's been a busy long weekend thus far.

Mechanically speaking, you can recruit a team of Sneaks to gain access to the Secure Cache action. They can be upgraded to Thieves, and then again to Saboteurs or Spies, both who have the Sabotage action. There's obviously a cost and the need to spend multiple activities to do all of this.

It's also all entirely optional, and how you approach the Keep is ultimately up to you.

How about we run our Rebellion phases before we leave town again? As I mentioned, Gather Information can be used to learn more about the keep, and there's also your usual activities, i.e. recruiting supporters, earning gold, or recruiting a team. We need three activities in all for the week.

As always, I vote to earn gold at least once to pay for the rebellion. Recruiting supporters is always a good plan. The final action? Recruiting teams cost $$, so if we want to work that route for the future then definitely earn gold to go with it.

On the note of rebellion actions for the week: How about earn gold, recruit supporters, and upgrade a team? Or recruit sneaks. I don't believe we have anyone that can perform as sneaks do.

I do think we should go ahead and Recruit Sneaks now so we'll be able to start working on upgrading them. I agree with Earn Gold. As far as Upgrade Team goes, which one should we look to upgrade if we go that route?

PH supports Recruiting Sneaks to finally add a team from the Outlaws category to the Rebellion and reach our maximum number of teams at the current tier of the Rebellion.

Regarding upgrading a team, do our 'unique' teams [Fushi Family (Traders-Merchants), Vandalfek (Advisors-Rumormonger?), and Order of the Torrent Armigers (Revolutionaries-Infiltrators)] upgrade on their own? Or can we upgrade them?

The downside of the unique teams is that you can't upgrade them. They're pretty much stuck at the level they were obtained at. They good side is that they don't count against your 'team max', which is why you're able to recruit Outlaws. I think the unique teams were meant more as a boost early/early-mid game, before you're able to recruit your own upgradeable teams.

Re: the items, if someone wants to roll the Craft (alchemy) checks for the vials, and Perception for the bottle from undersea, I'll add the spoilers to the bottom of this post.

I appreciate everyone jumping in with input here. I know researching this stuff isn't always fun, and adds to the bookkeeping aspect of the AP. I hope you'll see the value of these activities in building up our rebellion over the course of this adventure, especially when things get really dramatic.

It tastes awful, and smells like at one point, it was cologne. It's long since taken on a vinegary smell. It doesn't seem to have any magical effects.
