Nope, that's just your GM not tracking usages closely enough -_-
My apologies. It was a once a day only ability, and I lost track of how which ghost used it. This was an error. Given the successful knowledge check and this error, PH can safely assume that no ghosts that are still "alive" can howl at this point - Countersong is no longer needed. Does this help?

![]() |

Yup. Thanks, Red.

Friends,
I'll be GMing the Special #8-99D The Solstice Scar (Tiers 5-6) during Outpost. Sign-ups will be live on Sunday, February 3.
I'd love to have any of you at my table.
Larry
aka Pádraig Henry
aka GM Lorenzo

Morvena Sarini |

^Snagged a spot! Y'know, since GMs get one freebie signup before things open to the general public on the 3rd >.>
(Though it was tempting to sign up for the other Tier 5-6 table just to have Corona and Skye in the same group together.)
I think most/all of you have played it already but I'll be running #3-21 The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment (1-5; subtier TBD based on signups) for OutPost and would also be happy to have any of you at my table if you *haven't* played it.

Roger Schmitt |

Sounds like I'll need to do some scouting and plan my signups and such before the weekend since the 3rd is a busy day.
When does Outpost kick off?

Morvena Sarini |

March 11th!

![]() |

I'd normally join any game of yours, Larry, but with another 2 games to run on my plate and another that I'd joined, I'm stretched pretty thin!

![]() |

I hear you, brother.
I don't know how Kristin finds the time and energy to maintain her crazy-full plate of scenarios!
I'm not worthy.

Roger Schmitt |

I'm starting to think meth... :P
I'm not sure yet if I'll have anyone in that level range available. Perhaps Hanlin will be free by then.

![]() |

Hanlin will be free by then for sure.

Morvena Sarini |

Meth? I think if I were on meth I'd be breaking into people's houses and stealing their cheese graters and soap instead of PbPing!
Nah, the lack of children and having a job that I don't have to take home with me are probably bigger factors ;)

Roger Schmitt |

Yup, both things help on my end as well. You should see the stack of cheese graters I have now though. Soon I will have the entire set!

Issil Tanessen |

So what questions do we want to ask this ghost? Otherwise I'm in favor of locking the door and placing "NO SERIOUSLY, DO NOT ENTER" sign in front.

Roger Schmitt |

But she seems fun! Issil is totally about fun too so. Besides, Victor is currently an addict so he's much more loosy goosy than usual when it comes to being careful.
First question I would think would be about what we just heard... did that Hellknight order actually take over for them or is that BS.

Roger Schmitt |

Considering her back rubs have positive energy involved then technically she can :)

Geoffrey Piersym |

I think that is a good question to start with Victor. While locking the ghost away would be one solution I can see where having her as an ally would be even better. The best solution is to put her to rest permanently.

Morvena Sarini |

^I'm good to start with that question unless someone thinks of something better. I know Victor said he'd be out of pocket until sometime Sunday evening so do you want one of us to ask the question in his stead, GM?

Issil Tanessen |

First question I would think would be about what we just heard... did that Hellknight order actually take over for them or is that BS.
Wait, what did Victor want to ask?

Geoffrey Piersym |

I think Victor wanted to see if this rumor was true:
The Order of the Torrent was banned by Barzillai Thrune after he found out that they were actually minions of Norgorber and had been operating as a thieves’ guild—when the order took out the Gray Spiders all those years ago, they did more than end that guild; they became that guild!”

![]() |

I had a few musings as I thought over the past couple books, here...
I know it seems like we haven't heard from Thrune or just what he's up to in a long time, but rest assured, this is all backstory build up for what will be a few big reveals. The Lucky Bones will be more practical than the bar or coffeehouse, and there's lots more to come in this and the next few books where Thrune is more in the spotlight.
The idea of the first book was to connect you and foster relationships with characters in Kintargo, giving you reasons to care for the town, and giving NPCs hopes in the rise of the Silver Ravens.
This second book brings in Octavio and his Order of the Torrent hellknights as valuable allies. The ship captain showed the very real impact of Thrune's proclamations, and the changeling cult were here to show that it isn't only Thrune and his lackeys who are capitalizing on the unrest in Kintargo.
Books 3 and 4 have the most compelling content of the adventure, in my opinion. It's where you'll get to see the results of your efforts, but that's about as much as I can say without being one big spoiler :)

Morvena Sarini |

It's no worries, GM. Having played through two APs to completion IRL (Rise of the Runelords & Mummy's Mask) and through a good portion of a couple via PbP (Mummy's Mask, Carrion Crown, Shackled City) I have to say that APs really are a long-haul commitment and players sometimes have to be patient and wait a while before plot threads really start coming together. Doubly-so in PbP unless you've got a speedy group!
Given that this AP seems to take place entirely in and around Kintargo (based on my best guess anyway) it makes sense for the first couple of books to be more about the build-up and getting everyone invested in the city before the real action starts to kick off. So...for what it's worth, I think you've been doing a great job running it so far and I'm excited to see what happens next :)

Only complaint: So want to recruit a friendly halfling ghost to the Cause. ;-)

Issil Tanessen |

Something tells me this ghost won't be so friendly when she tries to eat our souls. Also she won't be friendly to Octavio or the Order of the Torrent...
I have had no problems with this game so far. The pacing has helped me figure out Issil's character, and I chose a good PC for it, too.

Hey guys, you'll see this posted in my other games too but I'm sick/have been sick and though I'm feeling better I still have three upcoming nights at work + a lot of recovering-from-sickness malaise and lack of mental energy. So I'm taking a few days off from PbP; feel free to bot Morv as necessary and I'll check back in early next week.

Geoffrey Piersym |

Okay each PC will get the following coins:
7 PP
46 GP
78 SP
8 CP
There is also a total of 3 PP, 2 SP, and 3 CP leftover.
Updated Geoffrey's coinage on hand.

![]() |

Posting this in a couple of different places, so apologies if you've already seen it.
If you'd like to join my table of #10-08 What Prestige is Worth (Tiers 7-11)?
The sign-up document is here.
Outpost 2 runs from March 11 to May 6.

Issil Tanessen |

I'll hold onto the Dagger of Venom for now. It will be my magic weapon of choice. 1 less point of damage than my mace but it's more consistent.

![]() |

We've had quite the snowstorm today and I was traveling all around the city in it (I'm currently interviewing for a new job), I don't think I can really bang out a post that is fulfilling to me and fun for you at this point, so I'll be taking this evening off. Look for an update tomorrow afternoon/early evening.
By the way, Larry, I'm very tempted by your offer, since Erlathan will be available by then...

![]() |

Please do join my table, Red. It'll be nice to have at least a couple of actual role-players at the table. My VL, Pat Lowinger, will be there. He's currently playing in two of GM Ladile's campaigns with some of us.
The major downside to Cons, even PbP, is some folks seem more interested in the dice than human interaction and imagination. Sometimes I just want to grab a pair of digital pencils and jab them into my skull.
Of course, this amazing group already gets that.

Geoffrey Piersym |

Hey guys,
I have had a death in my family so posting for me will be sporadic for a while. Please bot Geoffrey as needed.
I will let you know when I am back posting full time.

Morvena Sarini |

@Larry - I think I still have one more sign-up available to me before I hit the '4 player games' cap so I'll sign up as well. My only available options are Nella or a pregen though, so I hope that will be okay!

Morvena Sarini |

Oh and for those who have GMed/played a lot of PFS, I have an OT question about something....
Does anyone know of any PFS scenarios or even modules that feature Ocean's Eleven-style capers? I recently took over as GM for the Shattered Star game I've been playing in for the last several years and one of the PCs is a paladin from a noble family with a 'Cinderella'-style backstory complete with dead father, evil stepmother, probably-not-actually-terrible stepsisters/half-sisters and minus the Prince Charming and fairies and glass slippers.
Since we are currently between books, said PC wants to launch a caper to get their sisters free from the evil stepmother. Obviously nothing like this is really present in the AP material so I'm looking elsewhere for some basic groundwork to use to homebrew this escapade. None of the players really participate in PFS so I'm not worried about spoilers when it comes to lifting parts of scenarios and adjusting them for my own ends. Oh and a lot of this stuff related to this particular PC was stuff that the player was working with the previous GM on so it's not like it's coming out of nowhere.
The only scenario that I've played/GMed that comes to mind right off is content from #4-11 The Disappeared. Any other good suggestions?

Oh, Pádraig: I signed up for your Outpost game with my level 9 Magus, I hope that's alright.

![]() |

Thanks for signing up, Kristin. As of this morning, there were still two seats left at the table.

![]() |

If the tier is appropriate, I think The Disappeared would be a good fit. The sisters are prisoners or hostages. Maybe Stepmom is one of the guests in the banquet hall.

Roger Schmitt |

Thanks for signing up, Kristin. As of this morning, there were still two seats left at the table.
Ya I'd love to jump in but my only characters 7th lvl + are Luurg and Mr Peppers, both of which are occupied. Hanlin will only be 6.1 :(

Morvena Sarini |

Thanks for the bot, Eric!
Apologies for slowing things down guys; I'll try and be a little more quick on the responses going forward.

![]() |

Victor, let me know if you're okay with the damage from Issil's burning hands given your current Con/HP situation.

Roger Schmitt |

Ya. It worked out. Gotta take chances sometimes and that one worked out ok. Too bad I followed it up with a nat 1 attack.

![]() |

I'm going to see what Victor says here as well to decide if we're going to rest or not. I think he's back this evening with a haul of frozen fish. :P

Roger Schmitt |

Assuming we're going back to town now for at least a day, to sell off all this excess loot and jewelry.. and I guess to talk to the crazy water cleric/druid people too.
I guess Victor needs to go to detox and he was planning on checking to see if a mithril chain shirt was available now that he finally has some spending cash. +1 would be even better. Victor wants to be rid of that -1 ACP asap.
On a very related note: If such an item IS available, he'd be looking to return the +1 chain shirt to the loot list to be sold off if no one else wanted it. I assume Issil may have an interest?
Also, check through to see if there is any extra items you aren't using that could be spread around or liquidated. I've got a certain MW hand crossbow and bolts that are just taking up space for one.

![]() |

And the party can also sell PH's former suit of leather armor +1.

Morvena Sarini |

Since gems sell for 100% of their value, I could keep some of my cut as jewelry instead of gold pieces, right?
I'm not the GM of course but I think you're correct about the sell value on the gems. While I don't think there's anything that Morv *needs* to buy for herself right now I'm open to suggestions on things if you've got any scroll ideas or whatnot. Issil suggested maybe a scroll of Dimension Door or Greater Invisibility to have as a backup plan; any others?

Geoffrey Piersym |

Looking over the spell lists for Morvena, I noticed a couple of useful ones: Nondetection and also Greater Magic Weapon. Definitely worth looking into.
PS: That scroll of D-Door is useless to Geoffrey due to his curse.
