But I'll make it worth your while.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Item 1: upgrade the headband (12k)
Item 2: gloves of storing (10k) and the ring of sustenance (500 over but that doesn't seem too bad.)
Item 3: I'm stumped, suggestions people?

Action 2

"A night of rest will do us all well," Vandomir suggested. "Tomorrow we will have to deal with the ramifications of today. Tomorrow will come soon enough."

Action 3

In between his reading of the various rites and rituals of the faith of Milani, the histories of Kintargo and the Silver Ravens, and keeping the family business up, Vandomir had also been trying to master more difficult magic to aid the cause. He had been close so many times, but this morning he felt was the day. He thought he would try a spell to protect his friends from elemental energies. Devils often wielded such power.

Action 1
Caleb looked around, into the silence, and swore. "That's it? No-one knows? Man risks his life to get us information, no-one can even tell me he made it back alive? Who else have we lost since yesterday?"

did we talk about treasure disposition?

"We need to know, for sure, that the scroll is going to work on Jillia. If we can't guarantee that, I think we should use it on one of our fallen. Rowan, I'm thinking, given we don't even have a body for Hawthorne."

Items
Caleb would like to wear Jackdaw's stuff.
The mithril shirt, the belt of dex +2 (replacing THRUNE'S gift), I guess the boots (I think someone wanted them). The Hat'll go to Ves, who can then use it to look like a small humanoid outsider (can't change type).
Does anyone have an issue with that? I figure this is like finding Robin Hood's outfit or King Arthur's armour, so I don't want to hog it.
Other than that I'd like a few things
(A) Rod of Lesser Penetration (+5 vs spell resistance would make a huge difference)
(B) upgrade his headband to +4
(C) upgrade the headband to the Crown of the Kobold King
(D) Cloak of Resistance +something (depends what else he gets)
@Fabian: If at all possible it'd be nice to get some of the upgrades ret-conned as treasures of the original Silver Ravens, but understand if not.

list:

0 Caleb's Silver Raven
0.8 Signal Whistle
1 Tindertwig
5 Blue Book
5 Spell Component Pouch
10 Callistrian Symbol
20 Smokestick
50 Vial of Holy Water x2
50 Disguise Kit
100 Holy Text
1800 Hat of Disguise
2500 Boots of Elvenkind???
3000 Rod of Lesser Penetration
4000 Ring of Protection +2
4000 Belt of Dex +2
8850 Shadow Mithril Shirt +2
15000 Crown of the Kobold King
16000 Headband of Cha +4

Action 2
Caleb sat entranced as Rexus pontificated, then sat silent a little longer. "A single spark of silver in a pile of..." he started, but cut off with a look at Noravia.
"Alright. So if we can find the Song of Silver and if we can perform it, it might help. They thought it would hold off THRUNE, and THRUNE sent one of its strongest allies to stop them, so it probably would. Caleb's frown turned further down. [b]"The dragon's alive. Jackdaw might still be imprisoned. THRUNE finally managed to cut a deal to get power enough to hold them off."
Caleb looked around "We're going to need allies to hold THRUNE off, when they come. Something powerful enough it can stand up to this 'Oofathan' guy."

"We need to know, for sure, that the scroll is going to work on Jillia. If we can't guarantee that, I think we should use it on one of our fallen. Rowan, I'm thinking, given we don't even have a body for Hawthorne."

"Nothing is ever certain", Noravia said gently, "But I'm fairly confident that the scroll will work on Jilia. As for Rowan, she died a martyr's death in the name of Milani. To take that away from her would be unwelcomed."

Action 2:

Noravia brightened a little, "So it seems like we found the music of the Song of Silver. Now we just need to find the words. Rexus, you mentioned they patterned it after a mining song. Would you be able to track down those words? It may be a good place to start. And what do you others know about bardic rituals? And how would a cleric of Milani contribute to that? I find it interesting that this song was a collaboration between a cleric and a bard."

Action 3:

Noravia was visibly upset that Hetamon was still missing. Not only was he paramount to the Rose of Kintargo but he was also necessary to help both Shensen and Jilia. "How can Hetamon be missing? Who saw him last and when? Does no one else find it odd that he's disappeared without telling anyone?"

The inquisitor was dumbfounded at Forvian's revelation about the rumors that Barzillai was still alive. "How...but...he's obviously dead. Unless they've cloned him somehow, that's not possible."

Thrune's head plunked down on the table courtesy of Caleb and Noravia found herself reaching out to put a comforting hand on his back. She understood his rage and wished she could give him finality for his vengeance. To the others she said, "See? We have his head. How can they claim he's alive? Has anyone trustworthy seen Barzillai with their own eyes?" She hesitated before suggesting, "Maybe Thrune's head needs to be displayed for the citizens of Kintargo to see. If anything, it'll force them to reveal their impostor."

A frown marred Noravia's face. "I'm concerned about these turn of events. Jilia was turned undead by someone other than Brassy and now there seems to be another puppetmaster pulling strings from the shadows. It suggests that Kintargo was always in danger from others other than just Thrune. I find this disturbing."

That's understandable. However, with us only having 4 charges of the CLW wand left I would have thought keeping the other wand instead of the 2 restorative ointments would have made more sense. Is this possible or does that still put us too far over?

The head had already deteriorated but still looked convincingly like Barzillai.

With an obvious distaste for the blood, Lady Docur stood up, "Here let me see this..."

She waved her hands and a fine mist enveloped the head. The mist penetrated the head through the nose and exited through the ears.

Lady Docur exclaimed, "There is something odd here. This head radiates faint transmutation magic. Should I try and dispel this or will you use this head for other purposes?"

Caleb's eyes rolled back in his head, and then shut. His shaking became more noticeable. His hands grabbed on to the edge of the table, white knuckled. "I need to go away from people" he said, in a small, barely restrained voice.

At this point Noravia stood up abruptly, knocking her chair over backwards. "No...we couldn't have..." Her eyes glistened as her emotions, amplified by lack of sleep, threatened to erupt. "I refuse to believe that Milani would allow something like that to happen to one of her most beloved servants." Her voice got very small, "I can't..."

Recovering from injuries sustained during last night’s events, being wary of Silver Raven assassins – although this one would chip away at his authority, which might actually be useful if someone is planning for a slow and controlled usurpation of power… The head itself is a powerful proof, but those not willing to believe us will just claim it is an illusion or some macabre fake, and the Dottari will likely contest efforts to show it off to the citizen,” Eirik murmured, sipping his tea.

Nothing further I think.

Action 2
Tillia considered the story and the observations that were made about it. She looked up from her musings and said, "I agree, finding the words tot eh mining tune is a good first step, and if it turns out that Jackdaw is still alive we may find that the task of reconstructing the song becomes much easier." The enchantress paused as she looked up at the ceiling a moment and tapped on finger to her lips, "Maybe one of the priests of Shelyn could find a way to ask their goddess if Jackdaw still lives. If anyone is going to know about how to reconstruct such a masterpiece as the song of silver it would be someone affiliated with Shelyn I think so going to them could be of great benefit just now."

Action 3
The fact that Thrune was still alive somehow didn't surprise Tillia, she kind of thought he went down far too easily. "I think that what's being said about Thrune living is probably true. Despite how vicious the fight was last night I think he was far to easy to kill." She looked to the others in question to see if they agreed with her or not.

When the head of "Brassy Thrune" was plopped down on the table Tillia blanched a bit and said, "Let's puts that somewhere besides the table that we eat at please?" When Lady Docur examined the head and stated that it was transmuted somehow Tillia felt herself pale at the possible connection with the missing Hetamon and said, "I don't think it was him, I've never heard of an enchantment that could make someone act like that. They leave traces and signs that they are not what they seem." She looked worried none the less and said, "Lady Docur, I think we should dispel the magic on the head, we need to know for sure that this isn't Hetamon's head."

Noravia practically beamed at Caleb, "No, you're perfect for this. No one has more passion than you do to pull this off. Not to mention that you can sing, I mean really sing. If you managed what you did without words, think about what you can accomplish with words." She also thought it to be divine providence that a servant of Milani and someone with musical aptitude were once again linked to work together.

Action 2:

Relief flooded through Noravia as the flesh melted away to reveal the devil's skull. She had never been more happy to see a bone devil. That meant Hetamon was still alive somewhere. She took a moment or two to calm herself before she went after Caleb. It wouldn't do to be upset herself if she tried to comfort him.

She followed him to where he had ended up. At first she said nothing, she just gathered him into a hug. After a few moments she said quietly, "The fight continues and we need you. You will have your vengeance. Our celebration is just postponed, not canceled. It wasn't for naught. You killed a bone devil and saved a lot of people." She stepped toward the door and held out her hand for Caleb.

Action 3:

Noravia looked confused. "Why the Silver Star and why would Hetamon hide? We'll have to go investigate because this doesn't make sense."

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Action 2

Frowning at the disillusioned skull, Eirik thought back to the battle they had fought. He had not traded blows with the Paracount-apparent for long, but the man had certainly seemed a whole different beast than the skeletal devil that had almost ended his life. Plenty of magical tricks, but physically much less of a threat. But then again, if magic had chained the devil into a human’s body.

”I know I am not an expert here, but should a magical transformation linger past the subject’s death?” he asked, turning to Lady Docur for an expert opinion.

”Unfortunately, this means our proclamation of the Paracount’s death proved premature,” he went on. ”This will need handling sooner rather than later. Do we admit our mistake or capitalize on the Paracount not having made an appearance in person yet and prepare to accuse the man of being an imposter, a magically disguised puppet for someone making a play for the throne?”

Action 3

Noravia wrote:

Didn’t we search these ruins very early on in the campaign? Or was it just an option that we skipped? I believe we found some minor item caches from SOME burnt-out husk of a building during the very first weeks…

The ruins are still there. Octavio discovered an underground passage beneath them.

BTW, all these little missions can benefit from 'saboteurs/spies' doing some of the leg work for the Ravens. Let me know if that's something that you want to take advantage of. It's not necessary but if someone wants to do something like Shari did with Elsbeth for the Ruby Masquerade then let me know and I'll provide some parameters for the 'write up'.

Level up
Everything is in the Stats now - except...
I'm torn on a Feat.
Spell Penetration is probably effective, but pretty boring.
Greater Spell Focus might be helpful, but again, pretty boring.
Planar Traveller sounds nice, but seems to come out of left field.
Leadership is something I have an interesting idea for, but I don't really see it happening for another two levels.
Selective Spell metamagic would be useful - but C won't be eligible until level 11.
I'm interested in Umbral and Grasping Shadows metamagic, but I don't think the level increase is worth it, and we tend to fight critters that laugh at darkness.
At the moment, I'm thinking about Leadership, and just holding off.
Any thoughts?

He smiled, a shy little smile "I love you for many things, Noravia Jeggare, but I think the fact you have hope is the one I most treasure. When I'm with you, like this, I sometimes think I see a happy ending for us."

Action 2
"I think I can get us across the river - as long as we can find a place where its less than 300 yards. Well, four off us, anyway. I guess I could make more than one trip. Tillia, do you have anything up your sleeve?" Caleb asked

He sighed "But first; Noravia pointed out we should take this as a blessing in disguise. This could have gone much worse. We'd be fools not to learn from it. We need to know where all of us are, all the time. At least our core group, but I think all the leadership of the Silver Ravens."
"As it happens, I have been consulting with Vespula over the last week. I'd been asking about an entirely different matter..." a hint of embarrassment, and a dash of regret flavour the Cage's voice. "But the answer I found to that would work here as well. It's a spell. I cast it on someone, and I'll know where someone else is. Forever." he echoes himself "Forever." "I have a way that the same spell can be cast on me by someone else. I've only prepared one" he hesitated, then quickly rushed forward "But given time, I can do more. I'll know where you all are, and Noravia will know where I am - and eventually so will the rest of you." he looked around the table "Once this is all over we can take some time and remove the spell." he lied.

Not unless you will use her as part of a mission. I don't want to create more book-keeping if the PC won't be used.

Action 1
Tillia listened to the discussion but had little more to add. Her relief that the head wasn't Hetamon's was enough to leave her silent for now. When it became known that Hetamon was under the Silver Star ruins she couldn't help but agree with Vandomir's observation, "I agree, it may well be a trap and I don't know if we should go ourselves or send a team. Maybe a mix of the two would be good."

Action 2
As the discussion of what to do continued, and of how to deal with Shensen and Jillia, Tillia said, "I'm not sure how to handle this but of us all I might have the best chance of figuring out how to help Shensen at least. I could stay behind and do some research on the issue. You might consider taking Rizolla in my place, I understand that she would have a vested interest in helping rescue him."

"Useful, unless you are taken by the enemy," Eirik said, nodding his head in thought. "Worth the risk, I think. Just warn me before hand when it's my turn."

My level up stuff is done, including I fixed my macros for attacks and such.

Action 1

"Very well," grinned Vandomir, "I am certainly up for a mission to save Hetamon, he has been there enough for us, that much is sure."

Action 2

Vandomir heard Tillia's suggestion, "Shensen's life is certainly in good hands with Tillia, no complaints there. As for Rizolla, I am not as familiar with her, but if Tillia says she should go, then obviously I agree."

The emotional ups and downs of the last little while took their toll on Noravia and she suddenly felt very spent. “You're right. You've always been right when it came to Thrune. We can view this as a blessing in disguise. In the future, we'll be more vigilant and suspicious. We'll need to question everything.”

Noravia blushed as the butterflies erupted in her stomach as Caleb's gaze focused on her. Even after all the time they'd spent together, he could make her feel like the only one in the world when he looked at her. "You give me a reason to hope, Caleb." Then she decided to attempt something that Milani had revealed to her. Focusing her thoughts on Caleb, she reached out for his mind. My favorite part of the day is me being with you like this. I will do everything in my power to ensure we have our happy ending.

It doesn't say that Bonded Mind has to be used during combat so Noravia's trying it out.

Unsure about what prompted his concern, Noravia said, "I don't think it works in reverse. It could actually be very useful if one of us is taken by the enemy. It's not like they'll be able to find the rest of us if they capture one of us. I agree with Caleb that this would give the Silver Ravens peace of mind. I mean, look at the upset that Hetamon's disappearance has caused."

I'm all for continuing with her as a secondary PC when necessary and staying as a NPC when not needed. I can level her up but if you'd rather I didn't then that's fine.
