Presented in no real real order my thoughts on current and past events in gob smash one.
We are in another dimension.
I feel we had a few I info dumps along the way about whys and hows of the blue goblins.
Schnorzel knows more than most PCs and the foxy black knight has several things she mentioned as well.
Dunno if its important but the interactions between the former black knight (now fox girl I think) and the reincarnated form of father husk as a fox magical girl attempting to passive aggressively fight for the affections of one mustachioed gnome is incredibly amusing.
I was not present for a big chunk of all this but im pretty sure a few of the PCs that unfortunately had to move on stayed on the golarion side of the portal to settle things there.
Oh and your mounts are creepy smart. Seriously expecting a planet of the spider donkeys to be a thing sooner or later.
The midori big bads seem to weild the strangest weapons seen. Sticking two weapons on a chain and trying to fight really ought to get you killed. Seems to work well enough for them though. The black knight made it work, well before you turned her into a gigantic fly monster and then a fox person.
Oh and crazy transforming power gems. (That all got eaten to summon god)
While she might no longer be comatose schnorzel the goblin is still one big ball of razor blades glue togethor with crazy. As her questions of when you were planning to eat her revealing that her culture isn't exactly one for touchy feely times.
She is also directly responsible for the presense of her cultures gaurdian/deity/supernatural horror being present in its burninating glory.
The entire midori (blue goblin) race is presently at the bottom of a pit willed with a familiar green gas that has necrotically charged blightning arond it. The gas keeps them safe, we broke the tubes that brings the gas down the mesa. So midori are dying. Lots of them.
Throwing things into the blightning seems to animate the energy and give it a form. Lessening its overall power but concentrating it in places.
Last I recall schnorzel had seized on this idea and is attempting to fish jakk tornclaws body out of the blood soup he got hucked into and toss him I to the energy. Hopefully draining the battery of power and averting the necrotic nuke that is still halfway primed.
....
....
It might also result in jakk turning into a negative energy kaijuu that the ghol'ee-ath. Would be at least partly willing to help us murder. Which might result in a massive kaijuu battle as we mere mortals scrample to escape with chunks of cavern and large numbers of Midori dying as everyone scrambles to escape.
...not that schnorzel would realize those ramifications (I on the other hand...)
Did I mention schnorzel was crazy? Yeah.

I am running late on the update. Apologies. My last two sets of "free time" were eaten up by real life, and attempting to reconstruct our current initiative order and the actions taken so far within that proved to be a wee bit hairy to reconstruct in my distracted state. I'm near to physical unconsciousness at present (sleeeeeeeeeep), and am still working on a few real-life projects with deadlines. Update hopefully later today (within the next 16-20 hours?). Really sorry for the delay, all. Thank you for your patience.

Auuugghhh. . Now theres slobber everywhere. Rassen frassen golarion goblins and their terrible habits. Why couldnt they nust be reasonable matriarchial peoplevores like us?
Guess I gotta break put the bucket...

GM Tacticslion |

Sorry for the lack of updates, all.
The last couple of weeks have more or less ruined my concentration, making it difficult to write a comprehensible summary. When I try rereading what I've summarized as a "simple" form, I get lost. I tend to ramble, lose sentence subjects, and create seemingly endless run-ons. I find it's far easier to understand just reading the last few pages in their entirety.
Blech.
Anyway, I've not given up, and I hope to have the update sooooooooooooooooooooooon-ish? Maybe.
I'm sorry, I know this is killer for games.
Also, good luck Ceru (a bit late, but I've been thinking it)!

*shrug*
I'll take a crack at simple explanation if it frees your brain up then.
If you or our wonderful players happen to recall important things that happened recently in the combat (Basically anywhere after the god got summoned and Jakk became a secondary issue.) Please feel free to speak up
Through various means we murdered the main baddie (Jakk) multiple times. About half way through the beat down two things happened.
1. Several of our more research minded PC's discovered that the ritual was directly tied to several aspects of the area.
Specifically the rune carved sacrificial victims, The Mesa itself
The Massive circle of necromantic lightning (What I call Blightning)
The pool of blood far below (which was getting charged by the black lighting the Blightning would give off occasionally.)
The Midori civilization which are as a majority all present in the base of the mesa, protected from the blightning above by the green mists.
And then Jakk himself who seems to be a lynchpin of the whole thing (hence the whole not dying thing.
In the actions of battle we as a group removed the runes on several of the captives and freed many more. In doing so we destroyed the mesas piping system that pumped the green mist down to the Midori.
The ritual visibly lost power the first few times we killed Jakk (whos body was replaced by doom-y lightning.
And then Schnorzel summoned a god.
...
yeah, 'bout that...
Jakk got killed a few more times, words were said unaware that the deity in question was in fact granting wishes.
Fortunately they were helpful in causing said baddies death.
Some Daemons summoned by Jakk got pitched into the Blightning, and we were placed at the base of the mesa courtesy of a deific Ahem gust of wind.
The giant blood bowl is leaking through a hole our passage made and the previously pitched Daemons have now turned into Blightning elementals which are reaching through the Midori's gas cover and murdering them with increasing speed and efficiency.
The leaking blood bowl seems to be helping the Midori avoid the effects of the Blightning but it is also likely causing other problems.
(it also seems to be the reason we healed when pushed down here at speed.)
If the ritual follows with the destruction of several key elements it has gone unbalanced and is now seeking equilibrium. which is resulting in even more insanity. And as the key elements were already serving to channel that power the chances those elements not irreparably destroyed becoming the focus for that excess power increases.
Like say Jakk's corpse which was hideously mangled but never completely annihilated.
Which would mean either when we see him he is alive as Schnorzel is trying to fish him out of the blood bowl now or he awakens when Schnorzel completes her intended plan and hucks him into the blightning
Which Should unite all the disseparate portions of the ritual into a single monstrous whole.
Round 2 boss fight *Ding* *Ding*
The entire cavern is rumbling dangerously and any of the PC's who happen to be Genre-savvy would realize that getting out of dodge is the best option right now.
Though it would be those same ones who would realize leaving the ritual half done is asking for it to come back and bite them in the butt.
It might just be time for Gob Smash to get their chance at earning a shiny Big Damn Hero medal and mighty fine hats all around.
And like all of my musings half of this is actual events and the other half is my own ramblings glued together with conjecture.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand back in the game!
Me deepest apologies for the block from before. As I stated, it really should not have been that difficult to create something coherent.
Please feel free to ask questions or post actions!
EDIT: and a strong "thank you" to Schnorzel - your post actually did help me cut away much of the rambling of my own, just by being reasonably coherent by comparison. Thank you!

Alrighty. though if I could seem to find the time and capture my concentration ,that annoying fluttering jerk, I hope to have something up today.
And I'm always happy to help where I can.

Hopefully the next one comes easier. I really do want to see this game to its resolution regardless what my post rate seems to say.

*shrug* were it not for my self imposed desire to try and portray Schnorzel as the utterly fractured creature she is I'd have an easier time.
But I honestly find that half the fun with this one.
Though plus side, I now have a Boss-kabad. time to throw this shrimp on tha' bar-B.
It's quite interesting to play a summoner with no knowledge of what she is. Makes me wonder if I'm ever going to actually need to pull out her companion or not.
though if I ever do my disposable minion will absolutely be availing itself of the locals preference for nearly suicidal weapons.

GM Tacticslion |

Currently looking for Ooze, Psi-dish, and Sunny to update... I'll look into moving us forward a round in lieu of any responses from them sometime this Saturday, maybe?
Sound good to everyone?
By the way, guys, if you'd rather me wait, feel free to say so - I understand business! I'm not pushing folk to post, just trying to make sure the game doesn't stall again - I stalled it long enough on my own, for which I apologize!

Schnorzel |

I can understand needing some time to percolate the info dump. But I would also say a week and a half lee way between rounds should be more than enough to make a small post. Heck we are basically going to start bashing on the blightning elementals now so the number of good actions ought to shrink to a more manageable number soon.
I for one really want to get to the final bars In this little song. The last crescendo is on the rise and I can see the conductors bowtie is about to fall of from his furious gesturing.
Though that could be stretching the metaphor a little.
Not sure thought Tac is awfully furious.

GM Tacticslion |

Everyone, please be sure to add Shaedo's performance bonus!
I wanted to mention, that you don't actually have to, as I've been adding them in myself. If you do, however, please mention in ooc-text that you've done so. Thanks!

Related to this post and Shaedo's singing.

I'm not mad! I'm ang-er-y! I am an ang-er-... wait.
EDIT: for the linkies and code-fixing. I don't actually know the cartoon (I don't like the animation, and I don't think I've ever watched a whole episode, and don't remember the name), but I've remembered that set of skits for years.
EDIT 2: found it. Huh, I have no idea what that cartoon is actually like.

Schnorzel |

So I get that Schnorzel's decision as to who her 'Allies' in this instance is somewhat critical but I'm struggling to come up with a concept for her to realize said issue herself. She has shared her opinion with no one and due to having a rather high dose of paranoia I can't see her doing so willingly.
So it is unlikely that Schnorzel will resolve that issue without some sort of push. I'm not really sure what she can delude herself into seeing to change her opinion that also won't render he a useless gibbering wreck.
the only reason she's up right now is her bloody minded determination to see this through and thats wearing out quickly.
But then I am the one who built the mental box Schnorzel lives in so its beginning to Irk me that I can't think of the proper modification to said box to at least get the ball rolling.

GM Tacticslion |

Hm. What an extreme level of duress she must be under. Much pressure. Almost like it's enough to bring her into contact with something deep inside of her.
EDIT: whether that is something physical, or simply something within her own mind - a snapping point, or a breaking point... who knows? It's up to her (and to you, as a player).

Dijiron wrote:Like Monty Python for kids.This... sounds... terrifying?
Lol. I just mean that it's wacky and often non sequitur. Like one of the running gags was a person shouting something like "Great Scott!" and then a person would pop up out of nowhere and answer "Yes?" 'Cause they are Great Scott.

Schnorzel |

*blink*
You are going to need to give me a little bit to absorb all that.
General thrust, we are winning. And the villan seems to be entirely defeated, the captured goblins and everyone else are about to be given an express exit courtesy of Stones air elemental self.
Oh and the Mesa is about to explode rather fantastically.
I'll be interested to see where the other shoe drops.

GM Tacticslion |

Some notes and corrections about the most recent battle post, resolving each of your actions.
In addition to being a long post, I was actually starting to fall asleep in some parts.
My apologies.
For some clarity:
- obviously, the post was supposed to be GM Tacticslion instead of Tacticslion. :/
- in Vitreous' section, I note the "serpentine monstrosity" - that is the blightning, not Vitreous. Only a small portion of the mesa turned into flesh - that immediately surrounding the blightning elemental. That flesh was subsequently destroyed by the negative energy and electrical energy that burst forth from the destroyed blightning elemental. The Mesa itself is still mostly present and still mostly rock, though it has been badly damaged and destablized by that event.
- In response to Sunny's post, I gave information that probably should have been in spoiler not in spoiler, and gave redundant information in the Spellcraft spoiler. Mmmmmeh. Feel free to read the spellcraft. It's a freebie. Point is, however, everyone now has double speed, +4 reflex, +1 attack and AC, and one extra attack on a full-attack for a while.
- Ooze has temporarily lost control of his avatar. It is made of a tornado-like air tube, but the "end" is in the shape of a dragon instead of ooze, and has gathered up the Midori in the wake of the air tunnel that follows him, making him look like a long, green dragon, and, by sheer technicality, "leader" (i.e. first in line, the one the Midori are literally following) of these Midori (until, you know, they catch up with him). Also, this was meant to be more obvious, buuuuuuut: it's an interaction between Sunny's wish and Ooze's wish(es). Ooze said he was a dragon, so he was (sort of). Sunny wanted her new friends to be safe, so they are (sort of). To birds, one stone kind of thing.
- For Stone's section, you must make a separate, second DC 28 Spellcraft to learn the spoiler listed below. If you roll two, but make only one DC 28 (regardless of which roll is the 28 or higher), you get what is listed in the Gameplay post.
Remember your ability to Aid Another!
- A missing ")" sign probably leads to strange readings of psi-dish's section. The thing is, the blightning elemental came up from the depths below to fight everyone. Psi-dish than hit both himself and the blightning elemental with his axe-chuck.
- Sigh. Though Dijiron hit, a copy/paste error made it look like the only thing he did was Frosty. Fear not, however, his scorching ray did, in fact, connect.
- It is definitely not obvious in what I wrote, however the blightning elemental - now in the shape of a dog, thanks to Ooze's wishes - scurries around to the other side of the mesa, hiding from the lot of you. It can't get all the way around the other side, yet, so someone with a long ranged weapon could hit it, however, it's considered 240 feet away. On the next round, it will be completely hidden from view and impossible to target. It is very badly wounded.
Thank you for your understanding, and I apologize about any confusion the really-exhausted posting (on my part) might have generated. Sleep. It's for the weak! (That includes me, by the way. I'm weak. Very, very weak. Few. Sleeeeeeeeeeeep.)
EDITED: for clarity, humorously, enough.

GM Tacticslion |

Busy week, huh, all? :D
Also, do I need to clarify anything for anyone else to post, do you need me to move things forward (which I can do, but it requires 'botting a could of you), or should I do anything else at this point?
If nothing else, I'll likely move things along this weekend (maaaaaaayyyyyyyybe Friday? ... maybe.)
Still rooting for you, Ceru!
Enjoy, all!

*Waves madly*
Hello! I is here.
Hopin' every thing be all okeys fer every body.
(^_^)

GM Tacticslion |

Yes.
There are two very different (but related) things at work here.
First, I am being kept exceedingly busy by newborn and 3-year-old. Often my "free" time involves literally and figuratively cleaning up "messes" created during my non-"free" time, and that is really cramping my GMing. Sorry.
Second, I'm exhausted. Basically, I'm at a point where I'm actually falling asleep at the keyboard in my attempts to codify each round. If it's not that, I stand up and walk off, having entirely forgotten why I'm there in the first place.
I can watch something, I have the ability to create new posts, but sitting down and codifying/comparing numbers/results/etc. is literally - not "literally" as in exaggeration, or emphasis, but "literally" as in "no, really, I mean it actually is" - putting me to sleep. This is mostly due to not having slept well the last couple of days, and fighting off something - something minor, but juuuuuuuust enough to keep me even more tired. This interacts with my attention deficit to... well, slam me into a wall while codifying results.
It's worth noting that this isn't a GMing thing - it's a phenomenon that happens whether I'm character-building (usually super-fun for me), rule-building (again, usually a delightful past-time), GM-ing (this game), or playing (like, two other play-by-post games).
Ugh. Frustrating.
I can only apologize and say "I'm trying, but not doing well at this time."
The latter effect was why I was really hoping to finish this stuff before my newborn came along. Since that event, you guys have undoubtedly noticed, my updates here have slowed to a crawl. I half-expected this, so I was hoping to finish this by then, buuuuuu~t, life happens, and he came a lot earlier than expected!
My apologies, all. Bear with me a bit longer, I pray.
Thanks!

*sigh*
Rainbow is likely about to do something stupid and heroic that will result in her potential death. I'd very much like to prevent that as I thought that NPc was very interesting but I can't see much our group can do on that front. Well except Snaketrious Who i imagine could likely change the outcome on that.
I'd imagine that her action is tied heavily to the (I assume) harrow cards she just used.
Now out of game I'm assuming she is doing something to take the remaining energy in the mesa and force it into a form rather than just letting it explode halfway. Cuz that would kill us all.
I have work soon so I'll try to post after I get back, hopefully with that much time I can think of something 'the little midori that could' can do to change the events I'm seeing unfold here.
