I'm fine any way you want to handle the festival. Separate sections are fine.

GM Wolf |

Lets go with seperate sections. Feel free to take as much creative enterprise with those sections that you choose, though I will start throwing details your way once you have chosen.
The mechanical terms, allows Elo to apply her Dex to her damage. Now shooting more phase arrows with the handle, as opposed to just bolts of energy.

Jack Iwamatsu |

Sorry was away for the weekend, I'm fine with separate sections too. I've noted down the dex damage.

GM Wolf |

How are you guys liking it so far?
Would you prefer it to be more Borderlands oriented? Kill, kill, kill etc.
Or are you liking the blending as it is now?

I guess we are just waiting for Jack to say what selections he will make, and any RP that you wish to do during the festivities.

It looks like we are down to Jack, Elo, Ida, and Five let alone any other NPCs you guys pick up. Would you like me to open up recruitment for another two or three players, just one player, suggestions for other players, or just keep it with us?

Jack Iwamatsu |

I don't mind the pace at the moment. I also wouldn't mind some fresh people in as it's just 3 of us posting at the moment it looks like. 2-3 to bolster the numbers seem fine. I'm not sure.

GM Wolf |

Well first I need to see your backgrounds, and let you mess with each other a little. You have been together for the last 3 weeks. Just on a mission to the satillite, which was successful, though you might want to steer clear of any Hyperion employees for a month or so.
Also you need to tell me if you have been enjoying the festivities or the hard drop is happening now?

Bishnu Shrestha |

I think festivities is more likely given that I have the bandit hunter trait and all.

Aannra Blake |

Humm would my PC be out the Cyro for that, could be if they do go festivities she would meet them before the drop GM

Aannra Blake |

Cool yeeehAaarrt!

Aannra Blake |

She will awake as the pod drops as that's what activated her.

Bishnu Shrestha |

GM:

Velden Lansell |

Velden isn't likely to want to fight in the pits, he's a sniper, not a jarhead hamfisted grunt. Not that he can't slice and dice when he has to. But he'd rather snipe. He's much more likely to do archery contests, or bungy jumping (he's a bit of an adrenaline junky).

Velden Lansell |

GM : I assume given the tech level, there's no objections to re-fluffing a 6 foot composite long bow into a 3 foot hi-tech compound bow? Same stats/range, just more fitting for the tech level.

Aannra Blake |

Kind of made some stuff up GM but it looks like we may be landing v Shoots. Like the idea we all go shafted by a corrupt official and where all meant to die in a horrible fire ball of a Pod crash.

Aannra Blake |

No worries we can be walking and talking to you until you ready to post

Aannra Blake |

GM said
Feel free to swear out Five as the drop pod makes a shaky drop. Please spoiler your actions until you get to town. Also until you meet five.
You are literally being dropped in now.
So seems we are fine until we get to town and meet five to go with the flow etc. Thats if the GM Oks us wasting the Pod.
:)

Velden Lansell |

Aannra Blake |

Go with a Xray laser, would have wasted the Pilot and taken out the controls, undetectable and would have meant us not knowing what was a blast or just real bad turbulence. One shot well aimed would have doomed us soon soon as we got hit.

GM Wolf |

Sorry Tanimaat, we are closed for any other recruits right now. Thanks for your interest.
Yeah, I like both suggestions of Velden, though I feel as though those abilities would be the greater version of what I am talking about now. Perhaps just a 'fire bolt' doing 1d6 damage. wis modifier +3 /day. Also a +2 to perception.
Bishnu any suggestions on what skill bonus you are going to get with telekinetic? Aannra same for your teleport hop, perhaps +2 K: planes?

Bishnu Shrestha |

Actually I was wondering if you could make it so the telekinetic would allow me to use the kukri as a ranged weapon? They normally are not one. I could then skip the skill bonus.

Aannra Blake |

perhaps +2 Autohypnosis would work better as its a kind of biomechanical her biomechanical brain dos.

Velden Lansell |

I think, with a +17 Perception at 2nd level, Velden qualifies for the nickname 'Radar'. :)

Velden Lansell |

Bishnu Shrestha |

Sounds good, I figured that would be the number. Good thing I have fighter in my mix, it's gonna eat a lot of feats having ranged ones as well as melee (and tanky stuff).
One question- what kind of action is it to bring an item to me (for example the kukri when it has been thrown)?

Aannra Blake |

That's a great find been looking for an image, thanks
I'll pop it on her sheet :)

Velden Lansell |

No problem, happy to help :)

Velden Lansell |

Right, Scared.
Aannra should be very careful to never tell Velden that. :)

Bishnu Shrestha |

Since I'm building a tank but am stuck in a time frame where everyone will be using guns, I'm a touch concerned about the fact that firearms use touch AC.
I would like to make a case that as it is supposed to be a futuristic setting, a strong argument could be made that bullet resistant armors should be available such that the touch AC advantage isn't there.
Even in the current world with lesser tech than we see in this setting, there are plenty of armors capable of stopping bullets. The main limitation is how much we're willing to burden our soldiers. As it is we issue torso protection capable of stopping rounds of the power of a 7.62 NATO on at least the first stop, possibly a few more.
Truthfully we're only at the dawn of personal armor tech in terms of materials availability. Carbon fullerine nanotubes are only now just appearing in the armor field, and they will get better with time. If you start making composites which incorporate both nanotubes with nanostructured steel, you will end up with armor which will be about impervious to small arms fire over protected areas.
I'm not sure how much you really want to deal with the consequences of the assumed tech level. If minimally so, I'd say just drop the touch AC rule and assume armors are made of advanced materials. If you wished to go further, things like powered armor should be available with servo assists so that a soldier wouldn't become drastically fatigued after any length of time wearing it.

Velden Lansell |

I'd suggest allowing people to use the Armor As DR rules vs Firearms? Then someone playing a tank can ignore the fact they are easy to hit, the firearms mostly bounce off the armor?
