No, normally he would, but there's kids to protect, so he'll stay down and provide interference for the kids.

GM Wolf |

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Yes it is expected to be slow.
Lets see what happens for this fight though. I need confirmations of where you want to be or want others to be.
Also in honor of Thanksgiving everyone make a selection
Turkey
Pecan pie
Pumpkin pie
Cranberry sauce
Stuffing
Olives
Deviled eggs
Hamm
Pick by tomorrow!!!

Velden Lansell |

Velden's current location is fine, and as long as the greenhornes are away from the outside, we're good.
Oh, and Turkey, duh. Pecan Pie a close second.
And you left off mashed potatoes.
Returns to basting turkey.

Ida |

Tharivello went with Pumpkin pie, so I'll go with a savory dish for Ida. Let's go with Deviled Eggs. I haven't had those in years.
As for marking position, Ida would like to be as central to the group as possible.

Bishnu Shrestha |

I'll take stuffing. Working on mine right now. It's a green chile, chorizo, mushroom stuffing.

Bishnu Shrestha |

I'm pretty fond of it, but a lot of people don't like their stuffing to be spicy at all, and the green chile has a touch of heat to it. Puts some off. However those who like hot food love it.

Velden Lansell |

Just finished making the gravy.
Cook diced potatoes in the chicken/turkey broth with the turkey. Add onions, garlic, baby carrots and mushrooms, cook for 3-4 hours with turkey. Remove turkey. Remove the mixed veggies from broth.
Put 2 cups veggies in blender, put in one cup broth from turkey.
CAREFULLY puree the veggies & broth until it's uniform consistency. Repeat if necessary. You now have 3-6 cups of VERY VERY good gravy.
Serve remaining veggie mixture as a side. Store remaining broth for cooking in the future (freezing suggested).

Cranberry sauce
I'm English by birth, not there now, I fly about a bit with work.
But well done yanks, and you missed off pop--corn
PS has a thinks giving meal last night with mates

Bishnu Shrestha |

I was at a friend's house and it was two families plus me, the bachelor. With five kids present the slightly spicy stuffing didn't go over real big, though all the adults had some. The kids are apparently mutants because they all dislike stuffing (not just mine, they had normal bland stuffing as well). As a kid I just loved stuffing.
I do like that idea for the potatoes as a gravy base. I might just steal that this weekend since I will have plenty of spare potatoes given how many I need for my mashed potatoes (which is as many as I can fit in my mixer without making a mess- hand mashing is a PITA). I always cook my own Turkey day dinner just so I have a supply of leftovers myself. Thanksgiving without leftovers would be criminal.

mdt |

What I like about using the potatoes as a base is they don't congeal afterwards, even if you leave it sitting out, or put it in the fridge. It's still liquidy. Or it can be returned to liquid by a 30 second microwave shot. When I make the gravy out of just broth and flour or broth and milk it gets all congealy after a few days, with a layer of fat on top. Icky.
Using the drippings mixed with the puree'd potatoes gives me the same effect, but it stays looking like gravy for a week (if it lasts that long). Plus if you cook the potatoes in the drippings/broth then they absorb the turkey flavor, so it all tastes like gravy should.

Bishnu Shrestha |

In the past I have generally used corn starch slurry or a roux, but this idea sounds intriguing. I will certainly be trying it.

Aannra Blake |

just had some Pumpkin pie hummmm nice

Bishnu Shrestha |

I make exactly two deserts. Pumpkin pie is one of them. I do love pumpkin pie.

Aannra Blake |

Most English food is bad BUT for the puddings
I have made in the past.
Jam rolly polle with custard
rhubarb crumble with custard
treacle sponge with custard
spotted dick and custard
Christmas Cake and Cheese
Bakewell Pudding [NOT Tart! not the same thing at all]
Bread Pudding
Custard Tart
Eton Mess
Lemon Meringue Pie
Mince Pies
Rice Pudding
Traditional Rum Trifle
:)
PS Real Christmas Cake takes a year to make by the way and uses 3 bottles of spirits.
PPC and lard-e-cake, but whats in it will horrify you and you only get it on the north of England
Go on have a bite here "Hes a feeder"

Bishnu Shrestha |

Rice pudding would be the other half of my desert repertoire. That is unless you count running the ice cream machine. That does involve preparation to do, so I guess it is cooking.

Aannra Blake |

Slooooooowwwww day

Bishnu Shrestha |

Yeah, work is utterly dead, but that doesn't bug me much. At least the pbp games are picking up some.

GM Wolf |

Turkey +1 str
Pecan pie +1 Wis
Pumpkin pie +1 Cha
Cranberry sauce +1 Dex
Stuffing +1 Int
Olives +1 Dex
Deviled eggs +1 random ability score and produce flame as the spell once. CL = you HD.
Hamm +1 con
Mashed potatoes +1 Int or Wis
Jack gets nothing. Also too bad for sick Elo. It looks like Swiftstab is fully gone now too.

Ida |

I suppose Str will be 1, Dex will be 2, etc.
Ability Score, Down the Line: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Velden Lansell |

I'm holding off posting until it's closer to my init. Doesn't do me any good to post when I'm that low in the initiative.

Bishnu Shrestha |

Yeah, just noticed the last bit about it being future positions. Can I make that a readied action in case a scag comes adjacent, I attack?

GM Wolf |

Well I start ignoring discussion posts in gameplay, a big pet peeve of mine.
I said that there was no readied actions, such that no one had stated any. Not saying that you couldn't. I know what you mean and I am fine counting that as a readied action, but please read my and other people's posts and don't put OOC comments in the gameplay unless you also have something to add to the gameplay.

Bishnu Shrestha |

Do you need me to roll again, or can you just use the existing action?

GM Capt Wombat |

yes that was very unclear, she would have shot if they closed, but you said "no readed actions" as has been pointed out. Then a Mao showing them next to her, she kicked to stop an AoO, I am sorry but that was very confusing. I really don't know what to say here. One think my PC would have done, is NOT kicked empty air.

Ida |

I'll be alright with the +1 Wis. That's just fine with me.

Discipline Talents (Ps) X2
Choose two powers from the following list: hammer, synesthete, thicken skin, and vigor.
As long as you maintain psionic focus, you may manifest either of your chosen powers without paying a power point cost, but the power may not be augmented or affected by metapsionic feats. Add half your psion levels to the temporary hit points gained from vigor. Synesthete, thicken skin, and vigor last for a number of rounds equal to your psion level. The damage of hammer is reduced to 1d4 (rounds?).
But you know I was just thinking, do you only get the POWERs as talents in low fat form
Or do you get the Full fat form as well? Hummm
Discipline Talents (Ps)
Each discipline gains access to two psi-like abilities that can be used as long as the psion maintains psionic focus. Discipline talents are treated as 0-level powers for all purposes (such as save DC). The manifesting time for a discipline talent is the same as if it was manifested normally, or a standard action if the discipline talent does not mimic a psionic power. These powers do not count as powers known for the psion; to manifest them normally, he must select them as his powers known normally.
So no :) o we'll
it was internal armour I got the down wrong now fixed
2 hours

Ida |

Ah, I didn't realize it was one of your Talent powers. Inertial Armor is indeed 1 hour/level, though, which is pretty good.

GM Wolf |

I did write 'No Readied actions.' truly meaning that no one was stating any readied actions. I was expecting some, but no one was posting any or even actions for the first 3 rounds.
It looks like no one really cared where they were placed, so next time I guess I will just roll randomly where people are or just place them. :(
Now stating that Aannra takes the AoO on the scag as it gets within her reach and kicking it, would be more specific and make sense.

Jack Iwamatsu |

Okay I think I'm going to have to drop out, I can just about keep up during the week. During the weekend as everyone is in a different timezone I'm 15 posts behind everyone and they all happen when I'm not awake! So I don't want to really bog down the game.

Velden Lansell |

It looks like no one really cared where they were placed, so next time I guess I will just roll randomly where people are or just place them. :(
Velden told the rookies what to do and to get toward the center, and grab the animals. We can't make the NPCs do anything though, that's kind of up to the GM. Velden didn't see where moving anywhere would be any better, as he's way more able to survive than the rookies, and it was his job to keep them safe, so moving to a tree would be bad in this case.
You kind of put all the PCs in a big circle, which was what we wanted anyway, so I think that's why nobody really moved, we were already in a defensive position we would have chosen.

GM Wolf |

Ok. Sorry for being a little bitter I have been kinda frustrated some with some of the games I am running. I guess I was just looking for more, but you did say that post about moving them. Just chalk it up to me being tired.
I hope we all can be more descriptive and follow each other's posts better in the future. :)
Jack I know that we have been posting at a more rapid state recently with the three new entrants which is great. If you think you can get a post in a day feel free to stay. But I understand when schedules don't mix. Your call.

Velden Lansell |

That's ok, I kind of got frustrated myself. We all do. Better to say something than let it fester. :)

Jack Iwamatsu |

@GMwolf: Out of combat it is relatively easy for me to keep up even with 1-2 post a day due to different time schedules. Combat however I've had to be skipped out on my turns 2-3 times now, I was asleep for the duration of the posting that happened. So it is advancing at a pace I can't keep with (unless taking lots of coffee waiting for posts to update at 3-4am which is a bit silly)
I mean I do enjoy the game but I don't really want to play 3rd wheel in combat because I can't take my turns in the same schedule as all the other players. So it's probably best that I drop.

Velden Lansell |

I'm fine with slowing it down for combat. One round a day.

Velden Lansell |

Glad to hear it went well!

Aannra Blake |

sooo who are we waiting on?
just asking as it all seems to have slowed down
what with work and illness [sorry to hear about that etc]
:)

Aannra Blake |

Cool
Other than that get well soon and all the best to you and yours guys

Jack Iwamatsu |

Is it alright that you move me to inactive Wolf? Thanks.
