@S.c.a.r.l.e.t. Wait, Wand Rifles? ok I'm at least interested in them.
As far as I know. The 'Wand Rifle' was only ever detailed in the adventure/module (J1) "Entombed with the Pharaohs" on page 28.
Said book/module, interestingly enough, is available Here for only $6:29 as a PDF.
So... looking forwards to the DM's and others thoughts/comments. (^_^)
Very much cheers to all.

Alright, So I believe I'll run with the concept of a Kellid from a tribe on the borderlands of The Black-Sovereign's control, who eventually saw his family slain by The Black Soverign's Army, with some assistance from The Technic League( Gearmen, Androids, Weird Cyborg like enhanced Kellids? Any of these would work-). As a result, I'd go with the "Against the Technic League " Campaign trait.
A little torn on class selection. Ideas range between an Oracle of Battle, a freebooter ranger, or a good old fashioned Barbarian.
This guy really hates the Technic League and that traitorous Kevoth-Kul.

DM, do you mind if we mess with the races heritage? For example, I think ratfolk could work for wizard, however, I was going add that the character was born a normal rat or even hamster, but had some ancestry that traced back to that. Have it start out as a rat that was a wizard's familiar, but through some spell transformed into what he is now. But that in a way is messing with the races genealogy and how they came to be about from what pathfinder has it, want to see if you were okay with that.

I've been wanting to do a Thundarr the Barbarian PC ever since I saw that this AP was coming out. He's definitely a Barbarian. Here's his fluff; I'll work on crunch.
Or put another way, the Blood Elks are one of the few tribes the increasingly paranoid, drug-addled Black Sovereign hasn't exiled from Starfall. In the eyes of some, this is no blessing. Like their master, the tribes of and around Starfall are indulging too much in alien substances and degenerate practices. Kevoth's grandfather was a harsh critic of what he saw as the end of the Blood Elk way of life.
Kevoth grew up listening to his grandfather's stories about the old ways. His father was often absent, commanding loyal Kellid bands and units of gearsmen against rebels, and his grandfather was Kevoth's main role model growing up. Unfortunately, Kevoth's grandfather spoke out one too many times or too loudly, as the gearsmen came for him one day and took him away.
Kevoth fought and managed to kill the Kellid tribesman in charge of the detail, but the gearsmen still managed to take his grandfather. Knowing they would come for him next, Kevoth fled for the wilds where the Black Sovereign's grip is not so tight.

Major update! My friend who was going to be the gunslinger will not be joining us. This opens a slot!
The melee slot is pretty overloaded with entries right now, so I'd probably submit something else. A good range option might be good.
Doublegold - I can work with that I think; as long as you are a 'folk at the start.
Wandrifle - I will look into that this evening, I'm pretty sure I have that module, but no access to it while at work.
Scarlet - I'll review that some more and get back to you. Not seeing a problem with it, but am curious at what makes an android delicious and to whom.

Dotting for extreme interest. This upcoming AP looks really interesting and I'd love to be in a campaign with a higher tech level. Right now I'm thinking some sort of gun user, but I'm not sure if I want to take an archetype that uses guns or go the actual gunslinger class. That does bring up a few questions that I feel I need to ask though.
- If a character is duel wielding pistols, could he make them mithral to have them count as light weapons to better two weapon fight with them?
- If duel wielding pistols with the rapid reload feat, how long would it take to reload and have both weapons in hand if he had weapon cords attached to both? My thinking is you could drop one as a free action, reload it as a move, drop the other as a free, reload that one as a free, then pick up one of them as a swift action, and on the beginning of your next turn you could pick up the other as a swift action and full attack that round.

![]() |

Mokshai, you get 2 traits following the normal trait method plus a bonus campaign, I listed the iron gods campaign traits on the first page of posts. Since these are being given as an extra trait, I will insist on the campaign trait being one of these.
No to pre game crafted mundane stuff, if your class has scribe scroll or brew potion you may create those at the crafted price.
The Technologist feat is in the Tech guide and I haven't seen it yet, but from some deductive reasoning I believe it allows you to make certain checks in regards to technology and probably gives a bonus to them.
As a subscriber I should get some materials early, and others maybe not, the email for customer service has me slightly confused. I'll allow a little wiggle room for the first week or two to adjust characters around those releases. (Advanced Class Guide, Technology Guide, People of the Stars)

Weapon cords were nerfed, please see Gun Twirling for all your duel wielding pistol needs.

Weapon cords were nerfed, please see Gun Twirling for all your duel wielding pistol needs.
Oh dear, you're right. The errata nerfed them badly, making the recovery a move action. That's a shame, I guess they were being abused. I for one have never even seen them in a campaign.
That's rather feat intensive, but worth it once you have a few levels under your belt. Thanks Dylos.

CampinCarl9127 |

CampinCarl9127 - I like gunslingers. They are already powerful enough with the written rules and this AP will support them a lot. So I'm gonna say no to both questions.
That's understandable. I can't seem to find any other way to get around having a -4 penalty on attacks while dual wielding pistols since they count as one handed weapons. Is anybody aware of any way to get around that? I'll still do it regardless since most of the time I would be targeting touch AC which still makes it viable.

GM, given where the adventure path takes place, I wouldn't be surprised if it is intended to use Commonplace Guns or even Guns Everywhere, rather then the default Emerging Guns that is assumed elsewhere in Golarion.
Keeping that in mind, how would you feel about the Trench Fighter archetype? Note that the archetype assumes that guns are simple weapons and does not automatically grant proficiency with them because it is an archetype that is from WWI Russia.

Sorry to hear. Hope everything is well for you and yours and theirs. (^_^)

Awesome! (^_^)
Scarlet - I'll review that some more and get back to you. Not seeing a problem with it, but am curious at what makes an android delicious and to whom.
Well... the 'flaw' details that anything with a bite attack likes to keep biting into the afflicted. So, since technically everything can make a bite attack (Just, those with 'natural' such attacks do more damage) then every one and everyhing would find Scarlet some what delicious -Hence they'd want to keep on chowing down on Scarlet.
As for the 'Why' of it? Androids have 'flesh', 'bones' and such, just not 'natural' materials as they are 'manufactured'. In Scarlet's case... what every the material she's made out of is? It just also happens to be extremely bio-degradable. :P As in other biologies will want a piece of her after the first taste. (^_^)
S.c.a.r.l.e.t. - Tasty Android Summoner (tasty to whom?)
At low levels Scarlet will be using her 'summoning' abilities to call forth creatures and so be more a 'ranged' combatant. After 8th level is when she'll be switching to a more melee build (Tasty ta' every ones! ).

Viskous, if you take a look at him, let me know if theres anything wrong with him - though feel free to hold off until I'm further finished if you want (Doesn't matter to me).

Here is my character, the admixture wizard Leopaldon Root, adventurer and scholar. I'll add spells, mundane equipment etc. if I get in and after selections. Will add the Numerian Archaeologist once the player's guide is available on Hero Lab (should be ready the day the AP is released).
Knowledge(Engineering): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
(Diplomacy to speak good): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Hearing that the flame has gone out, Leopaldon responds to the cryer, "Gone out, you say? Why that shouldn't be a problem to fix, it is simply a matter of..." with that he launches into a detailed and condescending explanation of thermodynamics and related topics in heat sciences. Halfway through entropy, he could tell that those close enough to hear him had grown noticeably bored, angry, or both. He hushes up and files onto the boat like everyone else, profoundly embarrassed.
In the city of Quantium, magical jewel of the world, stands one Leopaldon Root: fearless thinker and conflicted student, pursuing arcane knowledge in the company of the greatest minds on Golarion. Yet, he does not feel like he is one of them. A life of the mind is what he has desired since he was a small boy, but the further he goes with his studies, the more mediocre he feels among his peers. While proud minds propound their grand theories, each more ambitious than the last, Leopaldon pursues applied magicks and archaeology, finding his niche in a world where reason wars with the bloody ambitions of the mighty and where catastrophe, natural or otherwise, can alter the landscape of a nation overnight. One such catastrophe, found in a dusty book deep within one of Quantium’s libraries, caught the aspiring wizard’s eye.
Many millennia ago something fell from the heavens and crashed in the land of Numeria — something alien — during a time called the Rain of Stars. It broke apart in the atmosphere and peppered the land with alien technologies never before seen by man and in its wake, it created a savage land swarming with barbarians and ruled by masters of its long forgotten secrets. Fascinated, Leopaldon began to pool what little resources he could only to find that very little was known about the land outside of its language and scant evidence. Very little in the way of its alien artifacts every made it beyond its borders, and what little did was kept by nobles and royalty as expensive souvenirs. All Leopaldon could get his hands on was the Egg, a simple bauble pawned to him for a few coin that could very well have been a fake. With its purchase, and the saddening knowledge that it alone would not be able to quench his scholarly thirst, Leopaldon resolved to make the trip to Numeria.
To him, this is no mere adventure, it is a responsibility. He will descend on Numeria and study its wonders. If he finds that its technologies will move mankind forward, then he will become an expert on them. If he finds that they are dangerous, then he will do everything in his power to contain them. A scholar foremost, he aspires not to gold nor glory, but to die like all great philosophers and men of the mind — with his body of work written down, entombed in a volume, and set deep within the libraries of the world so that others may come behind him and build upon them.

Modern guns break the game at low levels. Revolvers are absolutely bonkers. Six shots, move action to reload (so free action with Rapid Reload) and it makes touch attacks within 100 ft for 1D8 (20 x4) damage. Seeing as how the DM said he is tired of the min-max attitude on these forums .. well yeah ;)

Kevoth is done. He's a lucerne hammer carrying bruiser with a greatsword as a backup. Should be good as a front-liner with his reach Combat Reflexes or greatsword in situations where he can't move around.
His trait is Against the Technic League.

I still remember the day.
That beautiful, terrible, wonderful, tear-jerking day.
Every detail is clear to me even now. The beige walls of my bedroom, the scattered technological gear, the massive, homemade computer on my desk that operated faster than any gaming pro's, the pizza boxes strewn across my shag carpet. The sounds of Brad and Kenny bickering downstairs-most likely their morning routine bickering and &!7$jng about the sides of their room... and oh, yes, ohhhhh yes, that heavenly smell of pancakes! Due to my late night partying, I was barely coherent enough to open my eyes, but the seductive smell wafted into my nostrils, tugging me downstairs.
After lumbering downstairs-nearly falling two times (thank all of the gods everywhere that the wooden stairs had rails)-I sagged into my beat up, badly-needing-reupholtering stuffed chair, groaning. “Fooooood,” I moaned, looking miserable.
Mom looked down at me, exasperated. “I'm guessing you were partying again, judging by the rings under your eyes. Thank the gods your responsible enough to know not to do drugs or drink alchohol, Analise. Anyways, I made pancakes.”
I nodded in gratitude, and I wolfed down a massive stack of the things in 49.12 seconds. I staggered up from the chair and tumbled my way over to the threadbare couch, letting my brain cells atrophy by staring at the TV for a while. After enough express to kill a person of lesser coffee-swilling skills, my tired brain finally remembered it was Launch Day. I burst out of the couch and ran up the stairs with a sound that would've been described in Saturday-morning cartoons as binka-binka-binka.
Bursting through my room door-nearly slipping on three pizza boxes, accidentally spying my portly physique in the mirror that I keep putting off taking down, and crash into my bed, snagging the Riftgear laying on my charred desk, and pulled the bulky helmet on. I had arrived 61.85 seconds before the game went online.
The time slowly went down. As soon as the amazingly accurate clock in my head hit 3, I began the startup process. “3...2...1...SNAP!”
All was nothing for a moment, then white flashed into existence and streams of color raced by. Suddenly, a horrible wrenching began in my gut, and all was nothing again.
That was when I left Earth.
The first thing I felt was pain. And when I say pain, I mean horrible, unrelenting agony that would normally accompany being riddled with bullets, blown up by dynamite thirteen times, and being run through with a sword all at once. Thirty four times in a row. With nerves running at ten times capacity and sensitivity. I will neither confirm nor deny I screamed like a little girl during that time. After what seemed like untold aeons, the pain finally faded away, and I was able to open my eyes. The first thing I noticed that there was no HUD. No health bar, no mana meter, no quickbar... nothing. The second thing I noticed was that I was in a burning laboratory, with men shouting in a strange language, running around, and generally panicking. In a moment of absurdity, I thought Wow. These guys have obviously never read the Hitchhiker's Guide. There was wrecked equipment everywhere-reminescent of my room, actually-and what appeared to have once been sterile white walls were now charred black and grey. A big, strong man picked me up and rushed me out of the lab, out into a hallway. We took quite a dizzying array of twists, turns, and loops that I'm not able to remember what exactly the hallway looked like.
The Hulk-I'm calling him that, since he was that massive-rushed me into a lab, one that wasn't burninating. A harried-looking, greying man in a coat stood their, then attached a strange device to my head. “Can you understand me?”
I nodded dumbly.
“You are part of an experiment to abduct sentients from other planes to learn about their cultures, and add the information to our database. After we are done with our information gathering, we would release you to your home plane, but since you are our first experiment, the equipment had not been properly tested, and now the technology is rendered inoperable. Now, what is your name?”
I wasn't thinking about how this was completely impossible. I wasn't thinking about this had to be some crazy, in-game introduction. I knew in my heart that I was really on another world. What I was thinking about, however, was that I was angry. Very, very angry. How DARE these [bleeping] [bleeps] kidnap me! I was going to escape ASAP, but I didn't want to make the Hulk angry. I had I feeling that I wouldn't like him when he was angry. So, I complied. For now, at least.
“Analise Rodhire. May I ask a question?”
The old man looked at me dubiously-I think I'm going to call him Evil Gandalf-and said flatly “Yes.”
“What is the name of your organization?”
“The Technic League. Now, is your planet capable of interplanetary travel?”
“We're on the brink of it. What is your position within the Technic League?”
At the second question, Evil Gandalf looked slightly annoyed. “Prime Scientist. Does your plane have magic?”
Now this question surprised me. Did this place seriously have magic?!? I tried to retain my composure, and cooly answered. “No. Does your plane have magic?”
“Yes. In fact, I am led to believe that our technological advances our stymied due to intense reliance on it. Now, on to the next question.”
The drilling continued to for hours. I gained information about his world-called Golarion- exchanged for information about mine. Apparently, I was in a country called Numeria, a land of deep contrasts. Due to a starship that fell here long ago, Numeria was extremely advanced compared to the rest of Golarion. Howver, the Technic League tightly controlled the flow of the tech, and so a lot of the place was relatively primitive. Finally, Evil Gandalf said “That was satisfactory. Targon, restrain Analise and take her into the experimentation rooms. I want to see the genetic variances between humans of this plane and hers.”
The Hulk advanced menacingly upon me, and picked me up like a baby. I struggled, squelead, and again, I will neither confirm nor deny I screamed. I was hyperaware when he took me out of the room, looking around at my surroundings. I was in a hall made out of metal, kept scrupulously clean, with blinking lights everywhere. Then, I noticed that the Hulk was... clanking, for lack of a better word. He was a robot. He was a [bleeping] robot. That was the straw that broke the camel's back. I started laughing hysterically. A [bleeping] robot. There seemed to be an access panel in his back. I then had an absurd idea. Something that would very likely get me killed. I tried to get to it, but the panel was just barely too far away. Then, I sort of... reached.
It was as if some door in my unconscious was thrown open, and a massive well of energy was in there, just waiting to be used. Somehow, I knew-barely-how to use it, and slowly, excruciatingly, I used the strange telekinetic force I had summoned slide open the access panel and cut wires. It’s “nervous system” went down, I squirmed away, and ran like the wind.
I scurried away through the twisting and turning hallways. Distantly, there was the sound of something exploding, then yelling. The place was a veritable labyrinth, and I had no doubt that would find me before long. Desperate, I made a few turns... then found myself at an apparent back door. I heard metallic clanking behind me that reminded me waaay too much of Cybermen from Doctor Who. I ran at full tilt-surprisingly fast, given my rather chubby frame-threw open the door, and pressed a random combination of buttons that happened to lock the door.
From there, everything was a blur. I had absolutely NO idea how I managed to outrun the Cybermen-was it my imagination, or was I hearing “DELETE. DELETE. DELETE.”?-but I eventually managed to run far away enough-well, more like wobble-to find a small grove of oak trees. Twisted, mutant oak trees who looked like they wanted to eat me, but it was getting dark, and I was willing to hide anywhere.
I wobbled (yeah, in my early days in Golarion constituted of wobbling, thank the gods that casting spells burns a lot more calories than you think) into it, and promptly collapsed.
When I awoke, I was distinctly aware of what appeared to be a living tumbleweed on my chest, sucking out my blood. Screaming-okay, I admit it, I screamed-I drew upon that power again and blasted the damn thing with something that looked like it came out of a flamethrower. Perhaps due to my panic, the spell was extremely effective, and it was incinerated the damn thing. Will the horrors never cease?
I meandered my way through the countryside for the next few weeks, incinerating any who dare come near me. Okay, so maybe it took all of my castings for the day sometimes, but it proved generally effective. As I learned at Torch when I got there, I was, quite simply put, absurdly lucky while I was traveling through the Hills. Wrong turn there, a couple steps over that way, and I would’ve fallen play to numerous mutants, bloodthirsty Sunder Horns, and hungry mutants. Really, the only thing I did of note was to scream like a little girl when a cute-ish junkyard robot lumbered at me. It probably didn’t even want to hurt me, although I turned on the heat anyways. I sprayed fire at it for a solid forty seconds. It was a pile of molten slag by the time I got through with it.
So, I eventually wandered into the plains, where I found Torch. A small-time local wizard helped train me there. Eventually, the fire went out. Bad, bad, very bad, badbadbadbadbadbadbad news. For some reason, I could smell the League all over it. The scent of evil: machine grease, burning, and Numerian fluids. So, I decided I might as well help out with my newly honed powers.
That was a mistake.
A big one.
More like a Godzilla-sized one.
That’s when everything went cuckoo.
Abridged backstory. She's going to have Gifted Adept (burning hands), Planar Savant, and Against the Technic League (spells) as her traits.
Will write her up at some point.

Modern guns break the game at low levels. Revolvers are absolutely bonkers. Seeing as how the DM said he is tired of the min-max attitude on these forums .. well yeah ;)
Perhaps, but this adventure path will very likely have beyond advanced firearms. The laser pistol was already spoiled in Numeria, Land of the Fallen Stars, it does 1d8 fire damage, has a range increment of 50 feet, resolves against touch always, can pass through force fields, force effects, and glass. Additionally, it's semiautomatic and lets you fire as if using the rapid shot feat without the rapid shot feat, and if you have rapid shot, it stacks. Oh, and it has capacity 10 and is worth 10,000 gp.
Commonplace guns makes guns martial weapons and makes early firearms cost 25% of their normal value, so a coat pistol costs 187g and 5s instead of 750 gp, additionally it makes it where advanced firearms can be purchased. Gunsmithing still does not allow you to craft modern firearms, so you would still have to find someone who has them in stock at this level.
Guns Everywhere however makes early and advanced firearms cost 10% of their printed cost, the revolver in this case is 400 gp, meaning you could get it before second level, but if we are going against lasers, you may need them before second level. It also removes the gunslinger's free gun and gives him +dex to damage at first level instead of 5th and makes guns simple weapons.

The only place in the setting with commonplace guns is Alkenstar I believe. In Numeria, weapons are either going to be your standard savage variety (great swords, axes, clubs) or super advanced space weaponry. No one in Golarion manufactures guns as we know them outside of Alkenstar. Just because someone in Numeria can use a musket in lieu of a space cannon does not mean they have easy access to muskets. That's just my 2 cp on it, not that it was asked for or anything.
I also want to express interest in the answer to DM Crustypeanut's question. If yes then I may want to go that route as well with my wizard.

Lots of stuff.
About Firearms
Uncle Taco has it right. Numeria does have higher powered alien technology firearms, but with the exception of Alkenstar (who rigorously controls access to advance firearms) the rest of the world is stuck at emerging guns.
From what I understand is that the "laser pistols" have a requirement for exotic weapon(firearm) proficiency.
Musket Master might not be the best archetype since I have yet to hear of any two handed alien firearms, and to use the "laser" pistol you would have to take the exotic weapon feat to use a one handed firearm.
Wand Rifle
It appears to be a unique item created for that adventure, but I really like it. Since it requires a feat to use, I will allow it. (Caught in a trap by my own rules...)
Alternate Heritage
Aasimar and Tiefling do not need to spend a feat for alternate heritages. You are swapping race features from "normal" Tiefling to Oni-spawn Tiefling. If someone is charging a feat for that they are making rules up.
Spell Focus for Scribe Scroll
As a person who usually plays wizards outside of PFS, this sounds like a horrible idea. Scroll making is one of the more important abilities a wizard has. At lower levels this helps you participate in combat a lot longer. At higher levels it has awesome potential. You can work with other casters to make those scrolls too.
If you swap it out, it won't count on the list of wizard bonus feats so you'd have to spend a feat on it later if you wanted it.
Wyrwood
I am reconsidering Wyrwood. They seem slightly overpowered compared to Androids until they die. The benefits are great, and while they are balanced by the potential death and lack of healing(they would only be healed by make whole (10 minute cast) or using Craft Construct feat.), the having to find a new character to replace this character doesn't sound like something I want to deal with. Try and convince me to allow this, I'd like to hear some reasons to keep it available.
That's it for now. I'll review the submissions again and update the list. With the amount of interest, I might be locking out certain "Roles" later today.

If you are not on this list, after this post the only classes being accepted for review will be primarily ranged classes and healers. I'm not closing the thread, but I already have a pretty good idea of the melee and arcane classes.
If you are on this list, I'll consider anything you post. To be honest though, you'll probably want to come up with something focused around ranged dps if you are in the interest section.
This is going to be vary hard to choose, there are so many great entries. It's starting to make feel a bit like a jerk to have to select only 4 of the entries.
