Game Expectations
1. Posting Frequency: My games tend to run a little quicker than average. Before signing up, consider how much time you can devote to the game. I prefer players who can post 1-2 per day on average, if not more. I understand that everyone occasionally has a busy day and just can't find the time to post. I try to avoid this but even as the GM I sometimes miss a day. But not posting for several days is not acceptable. It slows the game down and makes it less interesting because your character will be left behind in the action. And if you disappear during combat and hold things up for a day, I will skip you and move on. With that being said, my goal is to run this game in particular quite fast, and be complete by the end of the month.
2. Posting Quality: Take advantage of the medium and write some description. Tell us what your PC is doing or what they look like; put up some dialog and start a conversation with your fellow PCs. It makes the game immensely more engaging, immersive, and entertaining. I will admit, it can sometimes be hard to spice up combat posts. Bottom line: be willing to make an effort role-playing in my game. If you aren't up to that challenge, please consider playing a different game. If you aren't much of a writer or are new to PbP, don't be intimidated. I/We will help you improve! But if you sign up for my game and make too many posts with just dice or just ooc text, I will give you a warning and if your quality doesn't improve I reserve the right to ask you to leave the game.
3. I also try to be pretty open as to what is allowed and options that are a little outside the box, I really enjoy seeing what creative players come up with. If I ask for a roll, and you feel that you have another option that may work better, there is no harm in asking. The best way, and by that I mean the fastest way to do so and keep things moving is to first off, make the roll I asked for, (because sometimes the answer will be no, but that's generally because the Scenario specifically says so and I can't control that), and then to both ask if you can do something else instead, and then also make the appropriate rolls for that alternative option as well.
Go ahead and give me the following info

I disagree (multiple extremely long threads about this, and no one can come to an agreement) but will respect your wishes to avoid argument. Will be switching to this character.

It's alright. This is a safer bet anyway, and someone has told me "it has been mentioned once offline" that John Compton said it's supposed to be level 1 only.
Groosalugg

Player Name: Fromper
Character Name: Groosalugg the Brave and Undefeated
PFS #: 38137-21

Also, I've played this adventure twice before, but it's been probably close to 3 years since the last time, so I don't remember all the details.

Probably should mentioned I've GMed and played this.

Can you please deactivate me? Don't need updates for a game I'm not involved in. Please and thank you.

A little early, but just to note I will be organizing the PFS portion at a local convention Thursday May 25th - Monday May 29th, so I will be either post-lite or unavailable during that time.
Botting Dale: Shoot elemental acidic beams at people (+4 attack (1d6 acid damage) - range 30 ft.). When appropriate apply Color Spray (DC 16) and when a swarms pop up use Burning Hands (DC 15).
Dale~
|
Just a reminder, I'm in going into convention organizer mode starting now. I have botting instructions above.
For this battle, though, he's obviously going to use burning hands until he runs out of level 1 spells or the swarm is dead. ;)

We had some family come in town this morning, so I've been pretty busy with that. I'm also preparing for a half marathon on Sunday, so posting will be light for a few days.
That might be for the best. I came in to post that I'm leaving for a music festival that involves camping and very poor cell service, so I'm going to be sporadic if I can even get on at all. I'll be back on Monday.
I prepared a "Bot Me" spoiler in Ahmandé's profile; please feel free to use it if you need to move the game along!
Dale~

And now I'm back to my regular schedule.
Dale~
|
Either I blast the party with area spells or I take a shot in the dark with the limit amount of elemental blasts I have left. Don't have a magic missile wand yet or would be using it.
Or could walk into the room and take an AoO but that doesn't sound appealing... or like something Dale would do.
Dale~
|
Oh, it's not bothering me too much through the magic of PbP. Plus Dale will be 2 after this. (But being real I really don't like level 1 at all... I like playing and GMing the 7-11 to be frank)
Besides, the party seems to have this in hand anyway. Not a big deal. ;)

I don't know Turmoil's preference about this, but cover provides a bonus to AC, not a penalty to attacks. It should be the GM's responsibility to manage this bonus, not the player's responsibility to apply it as a penalty to their rolls.

As I'm sure everyone's noticed, the forums haven't been stable lately. They might be ok on mobile devices, just not PCs. So for now, I'm likely to be very slow in posting, since I usually use my home or work computers to connect.

They might be ok on mobile devices, just not PCs.
It's actually almost random what devices it works on. I had some functionality on my work computer and home computer (but couldn't open forum pages).
I had no functionality at all on my phone.
It varies wildly per person per device.

I know there's issues with the website, but just wanted to do a quick bump. :)
Groosalugg

I just got on for the first time since yesterday. And I was only able to log in for a few minutes yesterday (partially due to site problems, partially due to my own schedule), so I didn't even have time to update my PBP games. But it's also not my turn in initiative in this one.
Given the site problems, it doesn't surprise me that we haven't heard from some people in a few days.

Alright, thanks for playing. I know this scenario is a bit on the boring side, with just a bunch of non-challenging combats strung together, and really no roleplay. And I apologize for it dragging a bit towards the end, my intention was to get his done a lot quicker.
I should have the chronicles done shortly.
Ahmandé
|
Thanks for the game! I think the site troubles were responsible for dragging it out more than anything else.
FYI, that link just goes to Darak's chronicle, not all of them.
Groosalugg
|
Thanks for GMing, and for playing everyone. It was fun, though it dragged a bit at the end with all the site problems and everything.
Ahmande, there's only 1 PP available for this one. It's a quirk of being an old adventure that wasn't specifically written for Society play.
And Groosalugg finally hits level 2. Now I'll get Rapid Shot and double my effectiveness in battle. That's why I went human fighter with him - he already has 4 feats at level 2 (Quick Draw, Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, and now Rapid Shot). I'll keep playing him online, since there's no Core play in my area, until I hit level 4. At that point, he'll transition to Classic, so I can take feats from the Weapon Master Handbook, which makes thrown weapon builds viable at higher levels.

Probably someone reporting a game wrong again. If you're paranoid I can give you an alternative number. To be honest, whether it is Core in the system means literally nothing as the reporting system has all sorts of problems. Plus no one short of VCs can see your history anyway. I will always maintain the stance that chronicles will always trump the reporting system.
GM Turmoil
|
Oh I totally agree with, they really need to revamp the reporting pages. I trust you entirely, just giving you a heads up more than anything. I'm not sure if it still shows up as reported for you when it flags it like that.
Also, if anyone is interested in Consortium Compact next, my signup sheet is HERE

Signed up with a different character. Thanks for GMing!

Sign me up for core, diff pc as well.
I put you on there.

Cheers! I would love to play, but things have got busy and so I am cutting down ^^
