            With a pair of mighty blows, Ali fells the shambling mound!
Out of combat!
As it falls, it begins to shrink, almost as though dehydrating, until is it perhaps one hundredth its original size. It looks rather like a child's doll.

            The lad looks on with awe at the elf warrior's almost perfect cut!
Finally at Edward's reminder, the lad snaps back into seriousness. Very carefully and hefting one of his last alchemical flasks, he creeps up on the first stockade to see if there is any danger. If things look safe, he will hop over the fence to have a closer look.

He looks around, "Interesting word kerfuffle. It's dwarven. Originally it meant to wrestle your opponent into a knot."

            Etymology lessons still ringing in his ear, Kappi investigates the stockade full of weeds swaying in the non-existent wind.
As the Varisian lad interacts with it, he discovers that the stockade is in fact empty, except for the elaborate illusion.
He recalls his cousin setting up decoys for the hunt back home in an effort to lure the game closer, and can see a parallel to be drawn here between that and the illusion. He smiles in spite of himself at the cleverness of it.

            The rogue hollers over to the group. Weird, its one of those things that looks like its there. But really isn't... Like you can't touch it... But think you should be able to... But it doesn't really exist...
 What is group consensus?  Do we explore a little more?  or retreat back and rest to restock spells?
Kappi wouldn't really care either way.

The party heads back to the little hut and sets up camp to have a rest. Kappi sits outside the door and munches on some elk jerky. He keeps a sharp eye out.
The lad looks suspiciously at a small dandelion growing near the door and considers destroying it. "just to be sure..."

            The party beds down in the every-day greenhouse, feeling very much like they are being watched the whole time.
But eight hours pass uneventfully.

            Well rested, the rogue wakes up easily at Ali's light tap on his foot. Within 15 minutes everyone is packed up and munching on trail fare.
The party heads back out to the field and garden area where they left off. They carefully start checking each little plot where the shambling mound was, and keep going up from there.

Kappi, gives a quick look and a nod at his comrades. Edward and Vojtek each held powerful long bows, Davosh and Ali looked like they perhaps had some sort of fell sorcery at their lips. The lad himself held his favorite tomahawk in his offhand. It was time.
Hand on the door, he quickly pulled it all the way open and hastily started backpeddling to get clear of the fatal funnel...
