I agree with GMG, two games isn't greedy at all!

And good luck on the session, Gitano! I know it'll be fantastic :)
Based on the short blurb for Silverhex it sounds like the series might offer a little bit of everything so I'd imagine just about any PC would work for it. It's also an evergreen, just like Phantom Phenomena!
Personally I'd love to see a gnome riding a giant slug. Just imagine putting such a character together with Princess Tiffany and Bebop ;)
Linria 'Lyn' Korudorn |
GM G, I'd said Lyn is definitely up for Silverhex! Let's do it!
Yeah in hindsight, I think it may have been better to apply those Gallows chronicles to Silas and leave Tiffany as level 2 so she could continue playing with a few familiar faces. Love the slug-riding gnome idea, are slugs actual mounts? What book were they in?
Linria 'Lyn' Korudorn |
Yeah, I'd think so. I look forward to playing with the slug rider!
So how exactly does Silverhex work? I've never played PFS quests. Do they share an overarching story similar to playing something like Gallows or are they all independent quests?

Finally getting into the whole 'tricks' and handle animal stuff.. I never have companions and pets...
After some more reading it seems training something to bear a rider period requires 3 tricks, combat riding is 6. Vermin with their - Int get no extra tricks, just 1 starting and then the bonus tricks as an animal companion. So I won't have 3 tricks until level 3 :(
There is also a 'wartrain mount' spell that lasts and hour per caster level but its level 2. At level 4 you can give your vermin +1 int for a 1 int and solve the trick issue, but then you lose the benefits of 'mindless'. I'll have to look up some magical stuff to remedy the situation!
So a long story short I don't think I'll be riding my slug until more like level 3... There are some cool vermin mounts.. like a mantis! Mantis is a killing machine!

Red, the new approach to quests (Silverhex, Phantom Phenomena and Honor's Echo) follow the same format:
Evergreens, playable by a lvl 1 character only
Five quests that lead to a single finale. The quests are loosely related. The reward (up to 1xp, 2PP and 500 gp) at the end of a series of quests is related to the number of quests that you finish.
There is no relation between the different series.
A single quest normally takes about an hour of play and usually only has a single encounter in it.

DM, I didn't use my folio reroll during the game.
May I use it for my day job reroll?
Profession Librarian 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Heh, apparently small characters only get 3/4 carrying capacity from their strength, makes sense. A 6 STR isn't looking great now. I may need to bump it up to 8 to wear any armor.
Also noted: Slugs are a pretty terrible animal companion compared to most of the rest of the options. Wow. Definitely more of an RP character than an OP character!

GMG,
Do you need anything else for wrapping up the session? Email address for chronicle sheet distro?
Not sure how that works in PbP.
Thank you for introducing me to this platform/format for PFS organized play. Tons of fun.

Larry,
I will post chronicles to a google drive and post the link here. I keep the chronicles up for at least six months, after which they will be removed. I will probably prepare the chronicles tomorrow.
I am glad you had fun, it was great to have you in this game.
One small nitpick:
In this post you rolled two attacks, for two different situations. It is my preference that you roll one attack roll and than make it clear what the result will be in each situation. That way you only roll one d20 for the attack.
Note that I really like the "in this situation I do this, in that situation I do that" type of posts. That really helps the GM to resolve things.
How was your 5th star game?

Thanks for the feedback, GMG. I'll follow your guidance going forward.
The 5-star game went well, and it was an honor and privilege to have OPC Tonya Woldridge playing at the table with us.
Afterwards, my wife Jackie asked me, "So now what?"
I told her how much it means to be able to add "5" to your re-rolls.

Only two more GM credits and I will be able to add that "4" to my rolls....
Please let me know if I need to correct something.
GMG |
Blaze: I missed that. I updated your chronicle: link
Did you know you can retrieve the link to a post by clicking on the timestamp? That will give you the url of the post in the explorer bar. I usually right-click and copy short-cut.

I have posted the first posts in:
Silverhex gameplay
Silverhex discussion
Once you have all posted there I will close this campaign.

Chronicle looks good, thank you! I'll dot into Silverhex once I put the finishing touches on my new PC :)

Gitano's chronicle is good-to-go. He's now chillaxin' at the Grog Pit on the Flaxseed Lodge forum. Waiting to meet his next reports officer, some Decemvirate rep named "GM Red."
Krieger checked it at The Flaxseed Lodge, too, and also at the new link to your Silverhex session.
