Oh, you're right! I don't know why I was thinking CL 4 and not spell level 4. I thought it seemed awfully low for Sandpoint but then again most of their famous locals only have NPC levels or at most a couple class levels.
So yes, Seal can get his dorn enhanced. Carry on....

@Rissi: Actually, a +2 Str belt would be spiffy. Eventually upgrade that to a belt of physical perfection!
One other question: Does anyone want the +1 longsword? If not, I'd like to sell it, grabbing a couple of oils of magic weapon and/or bless weapon to make up.
And I also concur with the extra clw wand :)

Hidetsugu Rissi |

Extra CLW wand purchased.
Longsword sold.
+2 strength belt crafted. I'm charging you for the scribing costs for bull strength :)
I put you down for 2 of each on the oils.

I'd help, but I'm not a person v_v
Can't wait to see what's in the ACG; I hear there's a new pummeling style! /squee
And thanks for keeping up with the booktracking! I'd put some stuff in there, but I'd be afraid of messin' stuff up :P

Hidetsugu Rissi |

S'ok. I can do it pretty fast now with my spreadsheet. Easier then creative writing...
I'll put you down for enlarge person Sealman, and I'll scribe a few scrolls.

Kufieno |

Put Kufieno down for a wand of Mage Armor, and a Ring of Protection +1. (2750 gp)
I'll pass on the ring, as fairly soon-ish, Kufieno will move to using claws.
Who is taking the Amulet of Natural Armor?

![]() |

I can take the Natural Armor for the time being until I get a better neck slot item.
I think Kufieno's reluctance is from the fact he won't be able to attack with that claw without losing the shield bonus. But until then... take it for the AC boost :)

Hey everyone! I'm off to GenCon and may be unable to post until Sunday night or Monday. Hang in there and maybe I'll see some of you around the Con!

![]() |

Y'know... depending on what happens before meeting up with Aldern, if that's what the truth comes out to be, I did foresee one possibility being that Miana may have to seek an atonement for repeatedly punching the guy's head in even after being knocked unconscious. Depends on how much her suli fiery spirit kicks in and if what impetus there would be to cause her to snap like that.

Hidetsugu Rissi |

I'm just concerned that if there are two killers on the loose, and we leave to find Aldern in Magnimar, the ghast will still be running wild in Sandpoint.

![]() |

True, despite the lead to the mastermind, it may be better to stop the terror in Sandpoint, first. And there's still the other crime scene to investigate, too, right?

Hidetsugu Rissi |

I will be flying tomorrow, and on a work trip until the 20th. I will have internet, but my expediency in posting may suffer.
Thanks!

EndlessForms |

I hope everyone is enjoying the crossover!
My Shattered Star group just started book 4 and it specifically calls out a woman in Sandpoint that they are to use as a contact so I thought it would be a good opportunity for the stories to cross.
Anyways, I'll just let it play out however you guys want it to and whenever you decide to go back to your separate missions we'll continue on. But I thought it would be a fun diversion for a little while.

![]() |

Hey guys, I'm going out of town for a business trip for a few days. I may have internet access, but I probably won't do much. I'll post when I can and should return Sept 30th.

EndlessForms |

Thanks for the notice! I will bot if needed! Smite Seal, smite Seal, smite Seal, got it.

EndlessForms |

Also:
The group you just ran into are fairly high-level Seeker-type special agents of the Society and as such have quite a bit of clout (we're actually using the suggested PP/Fame system within the Society). As such, You have all gained 5 PP with the Pathfinder Society by making contact with them.
This is not associated with your chronicle sheets or PFS characters at all, it's just a homebrew version of that system. You can spend them in many of the same ways you can in Society, with a few other benefits from the Faction Guide. In case you don't own that book, I'll post some of the other cool things you can do with your PP later. With only 5 PP it's not much but you may or may not have opportunities to earn more PP with the Society later on....

![]() |

Cool, I have that book (got it mostly for some of the traits). Sounds like an interesting side system to tack on :)

Hidetsugu Rissi |

The ability to exchange a trait is pretty powerful. Might look into that...
I really like some of the academies and other organizations listed in Inner Sea Magic. They are super neat :)

Sealman Alerteyes |

I really like PP/Fame/Faction system. Even in early D&D games, I always want my wizard to be a part of some wizard school. College of Wizardry is one of my favorite AD&D books, somehow I have two of them! But most of the time they become an after thought by the DM once the game gets going.
I've tried to use factions in previous campaigns I've ran, but the players never really latched on. If/when I ever run a Kingmaker game, I would like to use them.
So if somebody dies, can we combine our PP to raise her?
re-reads EF's last note
Wait a sec, Seal isn't evil ... yet. Is he being too evilish? He's not supposed to be. Not even in that CN annoying-not-evil-but-I-really-am kinda way.

Sealman Alerteyes |

You are not really paranoid if they are plotting against you.
In other news, I just realized that we are in Foxglove Manor and we are helping a Foxglove in PFS Green Market right now. As you can see, its not too hard for me to play a dense Seal.

EndlessForms |

The Foxgloves show up in a couple PFS scenarios actually. Not Aldern of course but one of the sisters also shows up in The Golden Serpent if I'm not mistaken.

EndlessForms |

Yep! Those are both fun scenarios. One or both of them has a boon about the Foxgloves so hopefully they show up again soon. We haven't seen them for a couple seasons unless I missed them somewhere last year.

Sealman Alerteyes |

That's correct Kuffy. Well, I guess the boon from Golen Serpent is used in Green Market. It appeared to make the meet n' greet at the beginning go smoothly. Other then that, I don't know what else its helpful for.

Hidetsugu Rissi |

I'm confused about what is transpiring. Is Aldern the necromancer? Is he a ghast on account of a really botched transition to lichdom? Why was he carving Sihedrons (I mean, if he was a wizard, I suppose he might have a reason to be into Sihedrons)

The Golden Serpent has a boon that comes up for Green Market

You're not really supposed to know in depth exactly what's happening. But it wasn't Aldern who was trying to become a lich, that was a different relative as you've learned through the haunts and some of the other evidence in the house.
He has obvious been transformed into a ghast/ghoul though but seems to be fighting the forces that are taking over him, resulting in what might be termed a multiple-personality disorder. Obviously "The Hurter" raised the weapon against you but then it seems "His Lordship" took over and started pleading for help.

Sealman Alerteyes |

Not that I want to rush anything, but can I get a time frame about how far we are in this segment? I am going to add the chronicle to Zynep and she's in que for another game. Get her leveled up before we go-go, don't leave me hanging like a yo-yo . . .

EndlessForms |

Foxglove Manor is Part Four (of seven) in Book 2, so we've still got a ways to go before we finish Book 2 and get chronicle sheets.

EndlessForms |

Having experience with quite a few APs now, I can say that RotR is one of fastest-paced out there (both in terms of leveling and in terms of story development). RoW moves along pretty quickly too, mostly because you are jumping all over the universe and each book is so unique in its set up. Jade Regent is pretty slow and Shattered Star is only slower because it's a dungeon crawl. I'm playing in Carrion Crown now but we're only finishing book 2 (hopefully this week).

Hidetsugu Rissi |

And Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnngmaker can go on for quite awhile. (took me 3.5 years to run it for a home group)

EndlessForms |

And Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnngmaker can go on for quite awhile. (took me 3.5 years to run it for a home group)
3.5 years in person? Sheesh. That is brutal. Our Reign of Winter game finished in about exactly 1 year playing roughly every week or so. And if my PbP Shattered Star group keeps up their pace (3 books in 1.5 years), they should still finish in less time over a slower medium. Yeah, Kingmaker just doesn't have much appeal to me I think, especially after my bad experience with mass combat in Assault on the Wound (both as a player and GM). Very tedious.
Edit: Oh, and it seems that this group is moving roughly at the same pace as my SS group (which is about 6 months per book). I think my Jade Regent game is on a similar pace. That seems to be the norm for PbP in my experience, so you can expect the whole AP to take about 3 years (give or take).

Hidetsugu Rissi |

Well it was 10 hours a week, maybe 35-40 weeks out of the year. Still a lot of hours. I took my time and fully embraced the kingdom building aspect.
We did kind so skim the mass combat.

EndlessForms |

Well you did a way better job with them when you ran it than I did. But I still agree, that scenario was really the low point of season 5 for me. But I was also pretty demon-ed out by then too. I'm hoping for and looking forward to a little more variety this season.

Sealman Alerteyes |

I was a part of some pretty crazy Battle Interactives during my Living Greyhawk days. *drifts off with past memories*
There are 2 "mass combats" in the War of the Burning Sky adventure path. I had to get pretty inventive. One, I recruited a friend of mine to Co-DM with me, that way he could run half of the enemies. Then I took two folding tables and had them end to end, to make a strip of the battlefield. How well or how poorly they would do at certain rounds would determine if they could get outside benefits or hindrances. I'm sure there was more to it, but that was 5 years ago. There was another one too, but I don't remember it off hand.
The last boss fight of that game was pretty epic too. I had it spread out over 3 tables across my living room and kitchen. The PCs had to hop from one table to another before they could reach the main bad gal. I had something up that didn't allow you to fly or D-Door right to her. If it takes me an hours of planning to set up a combat, I don't want it to be a 15 minute one shot. In hind sight, I don't think we should have started that fight after dinner since it lasted until 2'ish. It was brutal too.
I'm glad I'm out of the campaign GM'ing cycle for awhile for my group.

Hidetsugu Rissi |

I dearly miss Greyhawk. The coherency and immersion of the storylines, even in less-then stellar regions, was far more engaging too me. It might be a "first love" affect, as LG was my first official campaign.
Hmmm. However, probably the most epic campaign I was ever involved in was a home brew campaign set in a Necromancer Games setting (a city whose name is escaping me), but adapted with heavy psionic elements. IIRC, it took 3 sessions for the final fight.
Oh, and I irked the GM when I sent my druid cohort to single-handedly deal with the old red dragon while the party was off dealing with "real" threats. Good times :)
