Man, I'm gone for a majority of a week and this is what I come to, making me all jealous of epic campaigns of old :P

Hidetsugu Rissi |

Oh, hey: something for Lucian (sadly, banned in PFS) to consider.
It's very nice considering oracles otherwise dubious saves. I expect a rewriting of the feat at some point, though.

Lucian Arvandru |

Provided that our GM authorizes it, yes I should. What's your stance on this EF?
-Posted with Wayfinder

Hidetsugu Rissi |

Honestly, taking it for the three +1 bonuses is still pretty good. Oracle's have some pretty poor saves on the whole.
I keep on expecting them to rewrite the (ridiculous) Fate's Favored, but it has failed to happen thus far. All they need to do is something along these lines:
Fate's Favored The fates watch over you. You may increase a single existing luck bonus by 1 (such as ability checks, AC, attack rolls, CMB, one type of save, or skill checks).
I got an article into Wayfinder 12. Yay!

EndlessForms |

I'm fine with it unless it does eventually get rewritten or FAQ'd I guess.
@Rissi: Awesome! Congrats!

Lucian Arvandru |

Congratulations Tangaroa, and thanks EF!
I agree that fate's favored is horribly overpowered, especially for half-orcs, archaeologist bards and destined bloodrager. There's a new candidate though, a Torag trait in in Inner Sea Gods that basically gives you Uncanny Dodge, Defensive Strategist. I anticipate many followers of Torag in PFS soon!

![]() |

I got a PFS halfling paladin with Fate's Favored to go with his Adaptable Luck ability; he also will get the halfling channeling item that grants everyone healed a +1 luck bonus to saving throws. I may have also made sure he has a wand of divine favor for combat abilites (he's built for healing) and a jingasa of the fortunate soldier because that item is ridiculously undercosted :P

Sealman Alerteyes |

I'm going to be out of town from the 8th through the 12th. I don't know how often I'll be posting. Seal's not too effective against these haunts anyways, unless you give him the wand of CLW and tell him where to tap. Is that valid or even worth the charges?
Otherwise, Seal will be in deep contemplation about Rissi mystery reviled. That and dinner. Actually mostly dinner.
Congrads Rissi on the article being submitted. I keep forgetting to download that rag =v)

Did we find out any more information as to why Aldern turned to the darkside or why the house was lit aflame? I will level over the weekend
It's a little convoluted from the player's side, I agree. Especially because I think they expect you to get more out of the haunts than is really feasible, especially when you stop a few of them from manifesting.
I don't have the book in front of me right now but let's see if I can summarize it for you (at least to the degree that your characters should have been able to piece together): Vorel was (I think) the one who built the manor and who was trying to become a lich. Vorel was Aldern's grandfather IIRC. As you might expect, Vorel had some dealings with some shady people who may or may not be the same people that Aldern turned to when he needed help after killing his wife in a fit of rage when he caught her looking at a book with another man (a carpenter or worker that was helping to restore the mansion). Basically Aldern got in a bit over his head when turning to those people (the ones you're heading to Magnimar to investigate) and they used him for their own nefarious purposes.
So even though he was the murderer, Aldern's a bit of a tragic figure who got caught in the crossfire of something bigger....

Good to know, thanks!
And leveled up! First level in Champion of Irori goodness.

EndlessForms |

Ah! Thanks for reminding me about that. I'll look it up when I get home. I've got an event going on tonight so if I forget, remind me again tomorrow.

Lucian Arvandru |

Level up is done.
I'll be away for the rest of the weekend with Mrs Lithrac. Feel free to bot me if necessary. I'll be back on Sunday evening though.

Hidetsugu Rissi |

Somebody take the spare ring of protection +1. Sealman? Miana?
Ring of jumping anyone?
Other Moneys:
Hidetsugu Rissi 1,684.95
Kufieno 1,567.43
Lucian Arvandru 1,824.44
Miana, Champion of Irori 1,451.05
Sealman Alerteyes 1,508.51

Lucian Arvandru |

Would there be enough time and money to craft a headband of alluring charisma for me, by chance?
-Posted with Wayfinder

EndlessForms |

You could have taken a few days to craft before you left for Magnimar, sure. That is, if Rissi is willing to do it ;)

![]() |

I wouldn't mind the ring since more and more I'm taking tank role :)

Sealman Alerteyes |

If Miana has the ring slots, she can have both of them. You would be surprised how useful Jumping can be in an adventure.
Since I'm horrible with Barbarian rage powers, I debating going down the Furious Mount tree. While not optimal, it is fun to keep Thunderpuss along and make him useful as we go up in levels.
But before I so such nonsense, some clarification points:
1) Wound Thunderpuss be counted as a "Mount" as listed under Furious Mount and similar Rage powers.
2) Should the opportunity arise and Thunderpuss has the "Awaken" spell cast on him, can he still be a "Mount"? Can he level up?

EndlessForms |

1. Sure. If it can be ridden, it counts as a mount. No snickering!
2. Yes, Thunderpuss would still count as a mount (paladin's mounts can be Intelligent, for example) but would not level unless you had an animal companion or mount through a class feature so that she could level with you.

Hidetsugu Rissi |

Sure Lucian, I will do that.
*tinker,tinker, tinker*
spellcraft: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 36 vs. DC (small number)
Done!

![]() |

Hey guys, I'm going to be out of town Thursday-Sunday for family stuff. GM, bot me as needed.
@Rissi: What do I have to do to convince you to get Forge Ring so I can get that sweet, sweet, ring of Ki Mastery? :P

Hidetsugu Rissi |

Well, wait until level 12 wait.
I think that's one we could probably buy by that point. I'm not currently seeing forge ring in my future. Unless EF allows some seriously screwy exploitation of retraining feats. (I wouldn't!)

![]() |

Heh, no worries. Worse comes to worse I just pay full price for the thing. However, I will be needing you to make some Monk's Robes in the future!

EndlessForms |

Really, did you give us our 6th level a little late?
Pretty much. You were supposed to reach 6th half-way through Foxglove Manor but you stumbled onto Aldern earlier than intended and I didn't want you too high for the top part of the Manor. In retrospect I guess it wouldn't have mattered since it was mostly full of haunts anyways.
You should reach 8th level (and the end of book 2) pretty quickly too if we keep the pace up. There's two more sections but they're each only a few pages long and maybe a handful of combats (I'd have to double check on the exact number).

Lucian Arvandru |

7th already! It means my first level in the Evangelist prestige class, as well as Divine Protection. No increase in spellcasting, but that'll be the only level where I miss that.
Anyway, I'm levelled up and ready to continue.

EndlessForms |

Good news! I finally broke down and bought the PDF so I can update you guys away from home/without the hardcover. More importantly, I can update you guys from NZ this Dec-Jan so we don't have to take a three week break!
Ok, we're close to finishing book 2 so let's keep going!

EndlessForms |

Yeah, I bought the anniversary addition pdf; it was cheaper than buying the pdfs for each individual book. Plus I own the anniversary hardcover so it has the same layout/format/page numbers.

Hidetsugu Rissi |

before setting out in Magnimar I raid the party fund and buy the following party themed scrolls:
Lucian receives:
Scroll of Breath of Life (which the bird can deliver via touch, so he doesn't need a spring loaded wrist sheathe cheese...)
Scroll of Remove Blindness/Deafeness
Scroll of Remove Fear (2)
Scroll of Remove Paralysis
Scroll of Lesser Restoration (2)
Scroll of Daylight
Scroll of Remove Sickness (2)
Miana Gets
Scroll of Remove Paralysis

EndlessForms |

The GM will note:
If you are stuck in deeper darkness, how do you plan to read the scroll of daylight?
(I suggest an oil.)

Lucian Arvandru |

A braille scroll would be so much fun! I'd seriously put one point into Linguistics for that.
Thanks for the scrolls by the way. I have lesser restoration as a spell known, though, so that puts 300gp back into the group's wallet (or would allow you to purchase two additional 2nd-level scrolls for Rissi).

![]() |

Minor note,I cannot use scrolls without 2 more levels in paladin or some UMD love.

Sealman Alerteyes |

I don't know. When you are in NZ for three weeks, last thing you should think about is lil ole us. =v)
While we are on topic, I have a side gig selling gaming gear online I got books, dice, board & card game, anything found at a gaming store. Anything you guys want that may have come out in the last couple of years, I can try to get from my distributor. Just shoot me a PM any time with what you want and we can make arrangements with reasonable offers.
Scrolls look good. Did the 200 PP go into that fund? If so, that's cool, I just want to get my accounting right.
A lich? Bah, what would give you that idea?

Lucian Arvandru |

I don't mind a three-week break at all. You just go and enjoy NZ fully, it's a wonderful country, probably the one that moved me the most. I've lived there for four months a few years ago (in Christchurch, on the southern island), and it was a unique experience.
Say kia ora for me to the kiwis!

EndlessForms |

I've been to NZ once before and loved it. It wasn't hard to convince Mrs. Endless to go back.
I certainly won't be updating every day but I'll update a few times while I'm gone. Taking an all-out three week break is never good for games; it then takes a couple more weeks to get back to regular pace. Besides, we're making such good progress on this AP!

![]() |

Back! And see I missed out on a lot :P
Plus side... Ki points! BAM!
I'll level up later today and get back to the thread at hand!

Hidetsugu Rissi |

I will be traveling (and at a convention) from 11/6/14 to 11/11/14. I will probably actually be able to post more, but who knows :)

EndlessForms |

In my local PFS group, got a scythe wielding Hellknight that has one-shot too many of the BBEG's to count. Although it was appreciated in the Waking Rune before I could pull off another maximized empowered Horrid Wilting.
^ That was what killed Trotter when I played it. Our fight lasted nearly 2 hours because he kept running away and summoning things. It was rough but we eventually cornered him and let the single-digits-HP barbarian finish him off.
The other table at our Lodge was done early. They got to him before he was out and had a fighter and barbarian (both with adamantine weapons) break him out early while the gunslinger stood with his gun at the ready. One gunslinger crit later and he was gone....

![]() |

@Endless: They were off by one round before the blackbound magus with an empowered shocking grasp on his blade could ready an action. BBEG came out, saw that, and ran away. Ours took a while, but that's because they decided to try... HARD MODE. Although I did go a little easy on 'em. I didn't go with the DC 29 Will save to not be teleported into the sun route because I wanted them to have SOME sort of chance.
