Giant alien thingy just killed our foolhardy, headstrong barbarian in a fountain of blood and guts. Whose panicking? I'm not panicking!
I am emotionally calm.

Lucian Arvandru |

@EF: Any opinion on my changing deity to Sandpoint Pantheon? My request may have been drowned in the flux of messages.

Hidetsugu Rissi |

I updated the LOOT! spreadsheet, and added some fun functionality (well, it was fun to me...)
To the party, I would like to proffer the following suggestion:
20% to a "party funds"
The rest (16% each) split evenly among us.
Party fund items would include:
- healing/raise/restorations (or components for therefore)
- basic travel expenses (non-warhorses, basic food and lodging, magical travel, sea travel)
- communal magic items
- other communal spellcasting services (such as Commune, Heroes Feast)
And whatever else anyone deems appropriate. If we want to pull extra money from the party fund, we can do so.
Anyways, if we do that, this time it works out to 29.2 gold each from items sold, and one cure moderate wounds as party treasure. (assuming we can find a buyer for a mwk. horse chopper)
It sounds maybe a little complicated, but I'm happy to do the bookkeeping.

Yah! We have become Knowledge Local 10 trivia! BTW, EF, there are some issues for you to address on the Discussion side of the board.
Hm. Sorry. For some reason my Campaigns tab wasn't alerting me to the new posts here. Thanks for telling me! Getting to your questions now:
By the way GM EF, I was reading "Faiths and Philosophies" yesterday and found that the Sandpoint pantheon was actually an eligible choice for a deity. Would you allow me to switch Desna for the Sandpoint Pantheon, which could be interesting as the various gods protecting the town might be called on occasions linked to the situation Lucian's in, please?
The Sandpoint Pantheon includes Abadar (LG), Desna (CG), Erastil (LG), Gozreh (N), Sarenrae (NG) and Shelyn (NG).
Yeah, that sounds fine. Especially because you're an oracle so your powers don't directly come from one deity anyways.
Since this is home-gameish, can we use some of the varient rules, like Called Shots from UC? Maybe on a case by case basis?
No 'ish'! This is 'campaign mode', which basically means anything goes and as long as we actually follow the AP you'll get PFS credit.
I am definitely open to variant rules but I'll have to look at each individually. No Word casting, simply because I'm too lazy to learn it. Performance? Sure, if you can keep track of it. Called Shots? Not terribly familiar with them but I'll look into it. My tentative answer is yes.

Sealman Alerteyes |

Cool beans. Called shots probably won't be used any time soon since you take penalties to hit, but it reads like an interesting dynamic.
I'm level 7 in my home game, and I've yet to use a called shot even though we are allowed. Better to ask early I say!
Giants will be lucky if they get away with a kneecapping!

Lucian Arvandru |

Just one question about PFS credit: is it possible to assign them credit sheets to different characters, or do they all have to go to the same recipient?

EndlessForms |

Yes, they can go to different PCs. The only AP I recommend not doing that for is Reign of Winter since the boons on those stack i.e. the boons get better the more Reign of Winter chronicles you have on the same character.
I'll update soon; busy day!

Sealman Alerteyes |

Heads up EF. Kufieno has been ninja'ing you. So you're up on the Gameplay side.
With regards to withdrawing through friendly squares, it is legal. As in, there isn't any rules against it. It doesn't even have to be in a straight line or directly away from combat. Hell, if you want to get crazy, you could withdraw from one square to flank with another.

EndlessForms |

Yes, all of the patches are missing-that's what I meant by saying the magic was just lingering and that it was used up.

Lucian Arvandru |

Sorry for the late posting today. These past few days have been hectic, but were well-rewarded this morning as my wife just gave birth to our first child - a boy! Just wanted to share this with you all. :)

EndlessForms |

Woo! Congratulations!
Definitely a worthy cause, don't worry about it. This group is posting very quickly anyways.

![]() |

Congrats!
Incidentally, this is the 3rd PbP I'm involved with where someone's wife just gave birth.
Now I'm not sure if it's me or not but... <_< :P

Hidetsugu Rissi |

I have just spent an inordinate amount of time reading about the chinese concepts of Lao Tang and Lao Tong. Now I feel like I should read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan

Hidetsugu Rissi |

LOOT! sheet updated. Now looks halfway functional :)
I added some areas for personal item tracking if anybody is interested.

Hidetsugu Rissi |

Will Rissi have time to do a little research?
She would be interested in the history if the church that burned down. Is there any sort of records - did the previous place or the man that ran it have any interesting history? This sounds more like a k(local) question (don't have), but maybe I can use k(history) to get answers to a few of my questions?

EndlessForms |

Sure, there should be some time. Maybe the library has microfilm of the old newspapers ;)

Sealman Alerteyes |

Congradulations Lucian on the baby. "And May your First Child be a Masculine Child."
Oh wait, he already is.
Wow, Rissi, that sheet is well done. I'm almost afraid to edit anything in case I mess something up. But I'll do it anyway. =v)

Hidetsugu Rissi |

Bookkeeping question: Did the horses come with bit/bridle, riding saddles, and/or saddlebags?
Party question: Did anyone have any actual plans to develop skill with mounts/animals?

Sealman Alerteyes |

Shan does not plan on doing much with mounts besides riding them.
Maybe a better question would be to ask if this AP lends itself well to mounts. Not that it matters for this AP, but some questions I ask about the campaign before starting are:
Would I be able to take advantage of mounted combat much in this campaign?
Are locations we are heading to going to be tolerant to animal companions?
Will we have downtime to scribe or create magic items?

Hidetsugu Rissi |

I'm not suggesting anybody try and be a cavalier, however the guide does say:
Into the Wilds: While some parts of this Adventure Path delve deep into ruins, much of the action is on the surface. Since Varisia is an untamed frontier, characters who are good at dealing with natural threats and excel at finding their way in forests and mountains would be assets to an adventuring party. Plenty of opportunity for overland travel abounds as well, so mounts could prove useful in getting characters to the doorstep of adventure, but might be difficult to deal with once the adventure moves below ground.
So that answers the questions above:
Would I be able to take advantage of mounted combat much in this campaign?Probably not, too much dungeon crawling.
Are locations we are heading to going to be tolerant to animal companions?
To a degree, but not once we get there (hire a teamster or groom to mind the horses?)
Will we have downtime to scribe or create magic items?
"yes, there will be time for item crafting" - I did inquire in the recruitment thread.
At the very least, it might nice if someone in the party had a few ranks in Handle Animal or Ride - just to calm the horses down, if nothing else.

Before we head to the Glassworks, why don't you all go ahead and level up to 2nd!

![]() |

Woot! Now... do I want to get my 2nd Paladin level or start the Monking... decisions decisions.
I'll be leveled up by the end of the weekend; martial arts tourney tomorrow and finishing running "The Harrowing" on Sunday!

EndlessForms |

Oo, the Harrowing is fun, I played it last year. Maybe I'll run it on the boards this summer. I'm starting to run out of scenarios and since I'm moving PbP will be my main Pathfinder outlet so I'm thinking of starting a few more modules in the next couple months.

Sealman Alerteyes |

We are just that good, Rissi =v). Hell, it would take 6 months in PFS PbP to level *fist pump*
I'm sure this Glassworks will be a peaceful sanctuary for innocent peasants.
Going ranger 1, I believe. I need to pour through the books when I get home.
Harrowing was interesting when I played it. I missed the first 1/3 of it, but I would like to run it for my gf. She likes Alice in Wonderland type stuff.

Finally leveled up; decided to knock out the next paladin level as it doesn't seem to be the right amount of downtime to have completed her training for monk-dom!
