Greetings all! I am going to be starting up a PbP game of Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition. This recruitment will be for up to 6 players. Application details are below. Note, you can just put the information in spoilers, no need to create an alias just yet. I will be utilizing Roll20 for tactical maps. Would prefer a solid posting history, but I won't rule out new PbPers. I have no problems running this a bit more sandboxy and may make adjustments to the standard AP for better RP. Looking for players who can, at least, post once daily on weekdays outside abnormal circumstances (vacations, business trip, etc), however I can generally post several times a day so if you can post more often during the week that would be preferable.

Character Creation Guidelines:

- Starting Level: 1
- Wealth: Average for Class
- Classes: Core, APG, ACG allowed. Will use unchained for Barb, Monk, Rogue, Summoner.
- Races: Core, Aasimer, Tiefling or Tengu preferred. Will consider others with exceptional background.
- Alignment: No evil.
- HP: Max at 1st, half + 1 after
- Attributes: 20 point buy, no stat below 10 before racial adjustments.
- Traits: 2, 1 must be a campaign trait.
- Drawbacks: You can take a drawback for one additional trait, however it should be something that will come into effect (ie if you don't plan to ever make a diplomacy check, don't take a drawback that effects dimplomacy). Restricted drawbacks: Attached, Envy, Forgetful, Umbral Unmasking, Warded Against Nature.
- Background skills will be in use.
- No 3rd Party content

Application Requirements:

0) Download & read the Players Guide. NOTE - The original guide may provide additional useful information on the races/classes
1) Develop character concept. Crunch does not need to be complete but it can be. Character concept should include the following:
- Class
- Alignment
- Characters link to Sandpoint: How long have you been in Sandpoint? Are you a resident? If not, why are you there?
- Livelihood: How does your character make a living?
- Rollplay vs Roleplay: How will your character contribute to the group in and out of combat? Do you prefer one over the other?
- Progression: How do you plan to mechanically develop the character (ie dips, multiclassing, PrCs, etc)? If you don't have a plan yet, that is ok.
- Background: What is the characters backstory? Doesn't need to be a novel, but at least 1-2 paragraphs of an overview.
2) Let me know your time zone and the time(s) of day you will most likely be able to post.
3) What is your experience with PbP? How many PbP games are you currently participating in? Do you have a particular PbP moment you are proud of?

I will let this recruitment run until 6/15, with a goal to get started on 6/18.

Silver Crusade

Dot. I'm assuming that occult (and therefor kineticist) is out as it wasnt listed.

Are gunslingers allowed?

Correct, no occult. As for Gunslinger, I would allow a Bolt Ace Gunslinger but none of the others.

Silver Crusade

Hm fair enough, I guess a lot of people don't want blackpowder I'm there fantasy. I love some in mine though. Too much warhammer haha.

I'll see If I get any inspiration. May take you up on the bolt ace,

Silver Crusade

Oh also. Are you using the feat tax rules, or not?

Dak! Good to see you back on the boards. I was in one of your RotRL PbP games three or so years ago. I don't have time for any more PbP, or I'd apply again. You did a good job as long as you could.

Dot for later. A few ideas come to mind and I've been wanting to play Runelords since they mentioned the anniversary edition.

@Rorek - Yup, not a big fan of the guns, especially in this AP. Some others, it definitely fits better in my opinion. No feat tax, I mean I hate the feat taxes too, but I'm a bit of a purest :P.

@Thorfinn - Hey! Yeah, it is too bad it all fell apart as it was a good game.

@Pumpkinhead - Looking forward to it. Love the AP.

Very interested!

Fun! I've got an idea for a tengu inquisitor that's coming together.

Commenting to come back to this. I think the PbP I'm in is dying, so this is perfect timing!

Had to step away from a RotRL game because of life. Only saw the beginning of the festival and would love to actually see more. I'll pull out my backstory ect later.

I'm looking at playing a druid, probably an aasimar (leaning towards archon-blooded).

Is VMC available?
Are archetypes not found in those books available?
Are alternate bloodlines for tieflings and aasimars allowed?

this sounds great

except the unchained barbarian rule... I have a barbarian for this but I actually rely on the original version.

how adamant are you on unchained barbarian?

Liberty's Edge

I have yet to participate in a Rise of the Runelords game, so it would behoove me to throw my hat in the ring.

Hello my name is Havoc this is my half-elf rogue going shadowdancer. Currently not in any active PbPs my absolutely favorite game was The Legacy of Marianasu. Where I played an experimental elven/dragon half breed bonded to a sword possessed by a shadow demon.

Character stats are in the profile it’s currently set up as a half drow but if you’re not ok with that I’d switch it to tiefling.

Hello, this is Havoc's wife I am hoping to contribute an eccentric witch who is a self proclaimed knowledge hoarder, accompanied by a tiny fox housing a larger-than-life personality! We are a gaming couple and love participating in games together.

History:
Sylvia was born to an elven father and a human mother. She was the youngest of three children and the only girl.
Her mother Ailis Galicia was an eccentric lady having once worked at a brothel to serve as inspiration for a collection of paintings she created in a span of a few weeks. Having come from a Varisan bloodline, she took on the burden of being a “wandering star”, searching for a place she could finally settle in. This call to travel prompted her to abandon the brothel and move on to new places. Being a follower of Desna, she felt as though her goddess was leading her down a path with a purpose or calling. It was during her wandering that she would meet Rowan. Little did she know he would become her husband or that she would be what saved his life.
Ailis came into Rowan’s life after being excommunicated by his family for challenging their matriarch. Before being banished from his home, Rowan was a great scholar and excellent swordsman. He had to leave behind an extensive collection of knowledge that he cherished greatly, but managed to take his two favorite swords. Having no home to go back to, he felt as though he lost his purpose and planned to kill himself. On the night he was about to jump from a bridge, Ailis happened to be painting near by. Her art caught his eye immediately. He felt her passion with each stroke and the freedom of her rich pallet. Before he knew it he was standing next to her talking about her work in progress. After a few months of spending time with her, they wed. As a sign of leaving his old life behind, he took her last name and in a way assumed a new identity. He adopts a new faith in Desna and devotes his new life to the goddess. Five years and three children later, this unusual couple would come to settle in Magnimar.

Here not only will Sylvia be born, but also meet her future husband. A few days after her birth, Ailis sent Rowan into the local forest to gather wild mushrooms for dinner that night. Whilst gathering, a butterfly fluttered around his head then drifted down an old trail. Rowan felt compelled to follow. It wasn’t long until he spotted a small bundle tucked under a raised tree root. Seeing the dark complexion he knew immediately what he was encountering. Inside the bundle was a crying half drow. His skin was not pure black like others of his kind. The baby boy had skin the color of storm clouds with a patch of white hair on his crown. His scarlet eyes peered back into Rowan’s lavender ones. There was a look to them that Rowan knew all too well. It was a mixture of abandonment, rejection and hurt. With burning tears he gathered the child in his arms and with a determined stride he took the baby home. He knew in his heart, Desna was calling him to pay the kindness of his wife forward by sparing the infant’s life.

Ailis fell in love with him immediately and named him Ascherion. He was a stark contrast to Sylvia. Her skin was pale like her father’s, eyes green and hair black like her mother’s. Growing up they were inseparable. Rowan and Ailis were very loving parents that enjoyed teaching their children all they knew.

Sylvia loved art, but her true passion was knowledge. She inherited her drive to learn history and culture from her father. Growing up she enjoyed visiting markets with her mother to sell art and retiring to an evening of watching her father teach Ascherion the sword. Rowan loved teaching him the many intricate sword forms and “dances”, and Sylvia loved to watch. Her older siblings were always either disinterested or ashamed of their father. Sylvia grew to resent them deeply as she watched sting of rejection break their father’s heart. With this she vowed to fully embrace anything her father desired to teach her with a fierce passion.
Sylvia loved visiting the city’s library and temple. There she would study for hours and on occasion sneak into closed rooms to read through old texts. Ascherion was often tasked to stand guard while she sorted through countless scrolls. She would sometimes smuggle them out, painstakingly copy them by hand, then return them the following week. Once she was caught by her father, but after a minute of scolding began to laugh and told her to make sure she didn’t get caught and to always return whatever she takes. Sometimes when Rowan felt adventurous, he would join Sylvia and Ascheron on their weekly “runs”.
Sylvia secretly studied about Asherion’s drow heritage and hoarded anything she could on the subject. It was her only secret that she kept from him until one fateful day.
It was an ordinary day out in the market when a merchant accosted Ascherion about his appearance calling him, “a filthy drow”. Ascherion was confused and before he could ask Sylvia what that meant, the merchant drew a sword. After a quick duel that ended with an injured merchant and Sylvia dragging a raging Asherion away, she finally revealed his heritage to him.
That evening Rowan sat down with him and further explained why drows were hated by some.
Sylvia knew that Ascherion needed support more than ever and knew that as a half elf, she was the only one in his life that could truly understand him. This was the catalyst for their romance. They relied on one another and drew closer. For years they traveled to nearby cities or towns to observe festivals. They visited temples dedicated to Desna and explored countless libraries. She approached each location with reverence and with a hunger to learn. She loved her travels with Ascherion so much that after each trip, she would tattoo a star on her chest to represent that journey. Before long she bore constellations across her chest, neck and arms. Her excitement was so, that her hands would tremble and the scent of parchment would send her heart aflutter.

One day she realized she felt that same sensation for Asherion. She knew then her true passion wasn’t scroll picking; it was him. He had always been her passion, her drive. She just hadn’t realized this sooner. It was shortly after this revelation, they married. Their ceremony was a beautiful celebration at a temple of Desna. As a wedding gift, Ascherion gave her a young fox she named Magosto, after an ancient Autumn festival. They planned a honey moon to Sandpoint in order to witness the dedication of a temple to their goddess followed by the swallowtail festival.

Question, since playtest will be out likely before the end of book 1 or early book 2, and the full pf2.0 not long after, are we going to switch to that system or continue with original pathfinder?

@Hotaru I'm ok with VMC. Archtypes are fine from any Paizo source. Yes, alternate bloodlines (heritages, I assume is what you are referring to) are ok, as well as alternate racial traits, but no alternate abilities.

@Edward Will still consider a normal Barb.

@Mishima I would say for now the plan would be to stick to the same, but if the 2.0 is a major improvement, then I wouldn't rule out a switch if the group felt it would enhance the experience.

Also had a PM question that I thought I would address for all. The cutoff for submissions is the 15th. That just means you need to have the above listed details to me before then. I likely won't make final selections until the 16th or 17th. I know there is another RotRL game recruiting as well with the same cutoff, I have no problem if you are applying to both.

Liberty's Edge

Question about aliases: Are you alright with anyone using Myth-Weavers for character sheets? I find it invaluable and much less tedious than messing with stat block templates and forum formatting.

@Daynen As long as it is easily accessible then I am fine. The only thing I do need in the alias is commonly used stats where they show up by your name (AC/HP/Saves, etc).

Hey there GM Dak, I am in the other RotRL recruitment with this very same character and am wanting to apply here as well. My crunch in profile is currently set for a 25 point buy, so I'll post an updated crunch here just to show what I'd be bringing in with a 20 point buy.

At the bottom of my profile though is a 10 minute background write-up. Would that work for you as a backstory GM? If not, I can write it up more officially with proper paragraphs and what have you.

Dotting

This is a character I made for a Runelords game that never got off the ground. The backstory is a little sparse and I'm in the middle of converting him back to level one, but the basics are still the same.

@Krios That is fine for a background.

Sczarni

ok here is a character that was in a rise of the runelords game that ended. the profile has all the info as well as links to the runelords game that this character was in.

- Class
Dwarf Fighter (still a bit undecided on archetype... maybe two-handed fighter) :)

- Alignment
Chaotic Good

- Characters link to Sandpoint: How long have you been in Sandpoint? Are you a resident? If not, why are you there?
He’s not from Sandpoint - but more of a wanderer. He’s in the city for the festival; a typical bon vivant, he won’t let a good opportunity for beer to pass.

- Livelihood: How does your character make a living?
He’s a beer brewer, but also for times lend his weapons as a mercenary.

- Rollplay vs Roleplay: How will your character contribute to the group in and out of combat? Do you prefer one over the other?
In combat, he’s a melee damage dealer and protector. As a fighter he’s, of course, quite versatile in combat, which is clearly the preference here. Out of combat I hope for opportunities to role play the happy smiling bon vivant Dwarf, but probably I won’t be able to bring out much on the skills or charisma side - I hope to still have some wisdom and use to background skills for professions or side knowledge.

- Progression: How do you plan to mechanically develop the character (ie dips, multiclassing, PrCs, etc)? If you don't have a plan yet, that is ok.
I’d like to keep “dwarfing” as much as possible. I’ll probably stick to fighter all the way and invest on the cleave feats and racial feats.

- Background: What is the characters backstory? Doesn't need to be a novel, but at least 1-2 paragraphs of an overview.
Aramant is born to a long tradition of dwarven beer brewers. While it gives him a great opportunity to travel the world, it also means he can from time to time experience adventure as his great-great uncle Kafyncius. He doesn’t consider himself a hero or even a proper bodyguard, but the decades gave him some experience (a lot less than he thinks he has!).

Recently, his older brother was able to liberate slaves on the Chelish seas and became the dearest member of the family. As proud as he is, Aramant won’t admit he’s quite jealous. He’s using the far travel to take the barrels to Sandpoint as an excuse to get away and drink his happiness back.

2) Let me know your time zone and the time(s) of day you will most likely be able to post.
I’m on PST and can post mostly during the day.

3) What is your experience with PbP? How many PbP games are you currently participating in? Do you have a particular PbP moment you are proud of?
I’ve played quite a number of pbps here in the forums. I’m currently only in two and I prefer to keep it under 4 or 5 to guarantee the post quality. I love the opportunities to play with dwarves and goblins, and I’m particularly proud of the goblin I had on a way of the wicked game last year (he loved to lick rusty chains! Lol).

Spoiler:
- Name: Rafael Swallowtail
- Race: Human, 26
- Class: Cleric (Devout Pilgrim) (Desna)
- Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
- Link to Sandpoint: A compulsive gambler, Rafael is quick to make enemies. Supporting himself by being a cleric for hire, he usually only has enough coin for a drink, some food, and a hand of cards. After a particularly sour night, he hitches a ride out of town with a caravan, and ends up in Sandpoint a few days before the events of the campaign.
- Livlihood: He heals for coin, which he then turns around and either booms or busts at the card table.
- Rollplay vs Roleplay: In combat, Rafael will be the healer and support. The "Caravan Bond" ability with the Luck domain will help turn the tide. Outside of combat, his penchant for finding trouble (or trouble finding him) can create fun moments.
- Progression: No plan yet. Might dip into rogue to support his gambling habits?
- Background: Growing up in Ilsurian, Rafael's family taught and healed in the Temple of Erastil, which is where he learned his healing ability. As he grew, he began straying away from the church, finding comfort with the low-lifes and working class. He discovered he had a knack for games of chance, eventually finding faith in Desna to keep luck on his side. Rafael started out healing the those in his company for free, but as his gambling got worse, he started charging. Combine the gambling and healing-for-profit, and Rafael was never in one place long as many did not look positively on him.

One night, after a couple bad hands and some poor alcohol-influenced choice words, Rafael found himself hiding in a crate from some less-than-savory individuals. The next morning, he used the last of his coin to hitch a ride on a caravan, and a few days later was walking into Sandpoint. Now he sits on the docks, healing those who have the coin, a drink never far from his side.

- Timezone: EST. I'll be able to post at least once a day, mostly twice a day.
- Experience: I'm currently in my first PbP, though I used to roleplay fantasy on other forums. In my current PbP, I'm playing a monk in an "undead survival" setting. I had to sneak onto the roof and throw a shuriken undetected to hit a door and save survivors from walking into certain death.

1. My Background and Stats are in the profile.

The Character build is for a 25 point build as this character is in the aforementioned other RotRL recruitment.

2. I am in the Moutain Time Zone. I generally do my more complicated posts at night, but often will post a short post during the day if I need to help move a social situation or initiative along.

3. I've been doing PbP for about 4 or 5 years. I'm currently not playing in any and GM'ing 2 concurrent Emerald Spire campaigns.

Favorite PbP Moment:
One of my favorite moments came as a GM. Running Serpent's Skull we had a Male Elven Arcane Archer (high elf with the attitude that elves are better than all other races) who died and was Reincarnated (only healing class in the party was a druid) as a Female Dwarf. A few levels later while Adventuring underground, the Arcane Archer flew ahead (Fly Spell), and came to a fountain that was long ago gifted to the lost city by one of the old gods. The fountain still had some restorative properties, and when he drank from it, I rolled a percentile die. The die rolled the exact number needed on the Reincarnation Chart to be reincarnated as an elf. He instantly went blind in the dark as I had him turn back into his previous form. It took him a bit to realize what happened and that the fountain didn't make him go blind.

I'm interested, I was in a RotRL that recently folded, we got to the begining of book 3 I think, but I am good at keeping player knowledge and character knowledge apart.
If acceptable, I'd like to throw my had in the ring.

I'm planning on working something up, probably a Wild Child archetype of Brawler with a lion companion.

I realize I was exhausted when I set up my stuff so I have not completed my application for submission.

1) My crunch is up above in my previous post. I'm going to be playing a Chaotic Neutral (growing to Chaotic Good) Elven Unchained Rogue. Krios is a resident of Sandpoint and has been living there for many decades after his father and mother escaped from the Scarzni. Krios works in the same bar as Ameiko as a waiter and server, making a little bit of coin where he can. In combat, Krios contributes by being your classic rogue blender with dual short swords. Out of combat, Krios is incredibly sharp with a massive Perception bonus, some sleight-of-hand tricks, and some social skill. I personally love a balance between rollplay and roleplay; I want to see my cake and eat it too.

2) I am in Central Time Zone and am available most evenings and most nights.

3) I've done a lot of HTML chat room experience, which has helped improve my writing skill. I'm only in two games at the moment, playing in all of them and not GMing any of them. Out of those games, my current favorite moment was fighting off an Orc ambush. I'm looking forward to see how the characters' personalities change having lost a friend and comrade in the combat (criticals at low levels are harsh as hell).

Oh we are both central time and most of our posting would be after 3 pm when we get out of work but can sometimes steal a little side posting time.

We love a mix of both roleplay and rollplay, as you can probably tell by our histories. ^_^

Posting a character that I've been itching to play for years, and am throwing my hat in with one that was submitted to the RotRL game.

1) Develop character concept. Crunch does not need to be complete but it can be. Character concept should include the following:
- Class - Ranger
- Alignment - CN
- Characters link to Sandpoint: A few days, visiting to learn information about giants in the area, fight giants, and take in the sights of the southlands.
- Livelihood: Tracking, hunting, and trapping.
- Rollplay vs Roleplay: In combat he will be a competent melee fighter, with a moderate ability to switch hit. Out of combat he will focus on intimidation and sense motive, with a few good knowledge checks (eventually). I like watching characters develop mechanically and make relationships, so equally I suppose!
- Progression: How do you plan to mechanically develop the character (ie dips, multiclassing, PrCs, etc)? Ranger 1/Goliath Druid X, possibly one level of bloodrager (not sure of bloodline). Would pick up a megalacerous animal companion.
- Background: What is the characters backstory? Doesn't need to be a novel, but at least 1-2 paragraphs of an overview.

Spoiler:
Sven of A ́lfur
1) Sven is from the enigmatic town of Sojourner’s Rest, in the Grungir forest in the Land of the Linnorm Kings. His adopted mother Freyja, was a kindly venerable Anhana that found him as bundled infant in the ruins of a town on the outskirts of the Mierani forest in Northern Varisia. Freyja overcame her natural inclination to avoid contact with humanoids and raised Sven to the best of her abilities by moving to Sojourner’s Rest and contracting help from the other fey of the city. When he got older, he would help the people of the Rest with tasks for big folks and would sometimes break up fights between larger fey. Sven did not take particularly well to formal instruction, and instead relied more on his instincts and physical strength to solve problems.
2) Sven is a tall Ulfen human with pale skin, white hair, and flinty black irised eyes. He keeps his hair long and braided, and his beard full but trimmed. He wears his clothes in an ulfen style, though he has adapted somewhat to the warmer climate of Varisia. He is quiet and terse in his dealings with other people, and sometimes resorts to physically imposing himself on other people instead of being more diplomatic. His mother tried to draw out his more outgoing side with some success, but he does not always know the right way to speak to people and can get frustrated when things don’t go his way. He tends to appreciate travel, new experiences, meeting new people, and is usually kind and generous. When battling though, he can lose himself and can be merciless.
3) When Sven got too big to fit in Sovereign’s rest comfortably, he was sent to Hagreach to learn the fighting styles common to the Ulfen. He worked as a scout and runner for Freyr Darkwine and the Blackravens out of Blackraven hall. While working as a scout, he failed to get a message of warning to the Blackravens in time to defend a small village north of Hagreach, and it was destroyed in a frost giant attack. Since then he’s been angry that the giant blood he might have in him might be merciless and rough, and dedicated to fighting them where he could, feeling guilty for his failure. He follows Desna nominally, though he isn’t a strict devotee. After the stint as a scout, he returned to Freyja and asked her about giants. She explained what she knew of them, but also explained that they were not common in the Grungir forest. She speculated that he may be long-descended from giantish folk of Varisia, but that if Sven wanted more information that he might have to venture south mountains where giants are more common and seek out some more neutral giants to question. She also explained where she found him, and a short history of the disappearance of folks in the town.
4) He travelled south to his ancestral home in Northern Varisia, south of the Steam River, and worked as a trapper in the Nolands, hunting and gathering food for the people in the area, and trying to ask around about where giants were more common and to get more information about giantish behavior and customs. He tried to learn techniques for how to fight them but was unable to get significant first-hand experience. While trapping, he accidentally entered the territory of a small tribe of reclusive stone giants in the Red Mountains. Without knowing, he hunted one of their oxen, thinking it was wild. A stone giant herder caught Sven and was angry, but recognizing Sven’s fear of the giant, and that the death was accidental, he let Sven go and told him to leave the area of the Nolands and not to return. Shaken and confused, Sven travelled further south to the area outside of Sandpoint on the rumor that there were more giants in the wilds outside of the small town, to lend his sword and maybe find more answers.
Step 2: Goals
1) Sven would like to unlock and uncover his giantish heritage, fight evil giants, including ogres, and act as an intermediary to prevent good/neutral giants from being killed erroneously.
2) Sven will become a goliath druid and unlock his giantish heritage. He may take a level of bloodrager as well!
Step 3: Secrets!
1) He does not actively tell people of his significant familiarity with the fey, but refers to fey creatures that he meets for the first time with nicknames like “Nuncle” and “Auntie.”
2) Sven’s family did not intend to lose him, they were killed. His family escaped but they assume he is lost forever to the dangers of the woods when they were able to return and find him.
Step 4: Describe at least three people that are tied to the character. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile. If you like, you can include an enemy of yours here as well, so I have an instant NPC nemesis to throw at you.
Step 4: Relationships!
1) Freyja is Sven’s adopted mother. She is an Anhana of some renown with the ear of the king of the pixies, which is why Sven was spared a gruesome fate at the hands of the more malicious fey working for Bjarma.
2) Bjorn is a friend of Sven’s that worked in the Blackravens with Sven. Bjorn was a lithe, elven ranger that was very adept with a bow, and taught Sven everything he knew about archery. It wasn’t clear why Bjorn was working with the Blackravens, and Sven was never able to get a straight answer from him. They ranged together for a year, until Bjorn unexpectedly had to return deep within the Mierani forest.
3) If it had been up to the crone Bjarma, Sven’s infant entrails would have decorated her hut in the Lurkwood. Bjarma is responsible for the death of some of Sven’s family and abandonment of Sven near the forest, but nobody else knows this. Bjarma is a hag that has thirsted for Sven’s death ever since the intervention of Freyja many years ago. She hates Freyja and thirsts for giantish blood of Sven for her dark magic.
Step 5: Memories, quirks, and mannerisms!
1) Sven always starts out friendly with fey, though this is typically a cover as he sizes up their motivations. He also begins most encounters with giants cautiously and tries to read their intentions prior to instigating combat. He knows that not all giants are evil but doesn’t know who to trust or not trust (as he doesn’t know enough about giants yet).
2) Sven is unknowningly still haunted and traumatized by Bjarma’s attack. He was older than an infant when it happened but has suppressed his memories. He is very suspicious of crones, and quick to anger if they slight him.
3) Sven hates people being imprisoned or captured (for any reason). For enemies, he prefers to dispatch his foes with a clean kill. There isn’t always a legitimate authority to turn to while adventuring. He similarly believes in the freedom of folk to make their own path and suffer the consequences (for good or ill) of that path.

2) Let me know your time zone and the time(s) of day you will most likely be able to post.

Eastern Standard, post times are 12:30-1:30, 5:30-6:30, and 9:00 pm-12:00 am weekdays. Weekends it will be random depending on my activities, but always at least from 9:00-12:00 (per weekdays)

3) What is your experience with PbP? How many PbP games are you currently participating in? Do you have a particular PbP moment you are proud of?

I played a fair number of them (4E, SW: Saga, 3.5) on the Penny-Arcade boards in about 2008-2010, but all fell apart when the DMs split. I am in one (Reign of Winter) on the Paizo forums. Nope, nothing that I've got as a reference, I am new-ish to the Paizo boards.

I actually for got to fulfill the required info:

0) Download & read the Players Guide. NOTE - The original guide may provide additional useful information on the races/classes DONE

1) Develop character concept. Crunch does not need to be complete but it can be. Character concept should include the following:

- Class: Barbarian
- Alignment CG
- Characters link to Sandpoint: How long have you been in Sandpoint? Are you a resident? If not, why are you there? born and raised in sandpoint
- Livelihood: How does your character make a living? see the background in the alias
- Rollplay vs Roleplay: How will your character contribute to the group in and out of combat? Do you prefer one over the other? melee in combat, out of combat, a local that knows the land and the people
- Progression: How do you plan to mechanically develop the character (ie dips, multiclassing, PrCs, etc)? If you don't have a plan yet, that is ok. I let the flow of the game dictate this
- Background: What is the characters backstory? Doesn't need to be a novel, but at least 1-2 paragraphs of an overview. see the profile

2) Let me know your time zone and the time(s) of day you will most likely be able to post. East Coast US time zone

3) What is your experience with PbP? How many PbP games are you currently participating in? Do you have a particular PbP moment you are proud of? I have several game, (actually less than what are shown in my campaign tab) as some are several games that are actually the same game, and some are just discussion groups.

anyway I hope this helps

1) Develop character concept. Crunch does not need to be complete but it can be. Character concept should include the following:
- Class= Fighter
- Alignment= Neutral Good
- Characters link to Sandpoint: How long have you been in Sandpoint? Are you a resident? If not, why are you there?
A: Hunter and trapper living on the north-east of the Whispering Woods along the Soggy River, hunted the woods as well as the moor and highlands. Word of the dedication of the new temple made it down the river into the farm country. The festival seems to be a good reason to take a break and while up there, he may take some time out on the devil's plateau looking for the Devil of Sandpoint.
- Livelihood: How does your character make a living?
A: Hunting and trapping, primarily trade with the farmers in the area. He has made short forays into Sandpoint to trade furs for weapons and tool repair.
- Rollplay vs Roleplay: How will your character contribute to the group in and out of combat? Do you prefer one over the other?
A: He is primarily an archer, as a fighter he can handle a sword. Out of combat he is a modest tracker, familiar with the woods, knowledgeable on aberrations and dungeon delving, and modestly sneaky.
- Progression: How do you plan to mechanically develop the character (ie dips, multiclassing, PrCs, etc)? If you don't have a plan yet, that is ok.
A: Focus on archer, all fighter, use advanced armor training and weapon training features to boost AC, Dmg, and saves.
- Background: What is the characters backstory? Doesn't need to be a novel, but at least 1-2 paragraphs of an overview.
A: Cuthalian was born and raised in and around the Whispering wood. His father preferred to be alone, except for Cuthalian's mother of course. She passed from a fever causing disease when Cuthalian was thirty. His father took it hard and became a hermit. Cuthalian became the link between their small home and the outside world. He visited the farmers in the surrounding area about once a week. When he was not trading for goods he and his father would hunt the woods, the moors and the upper highlands. His father taught him all he knows about aberrations and magical beasts. He also taught his son how to shoot and how to use various weapons.
Cuthalian has desired to get out and see things and meet new people. His father, of course, will never go anywhere. The few trips Cuthalian has made to Sandpoint have seemed grand adventures in and of themselves but in the past he was on a strict timeline. This time he has used the announced festival and the fact that his mother followed the teachings of Desna as an excuse to go to Sandpoint for a longer time period. His father has consented and so Cuthalian has headed out to learn more about the metropolis (to him anyway) of Sandpoint and possibly get a chance to take a shot at the Sandpoint Devil.
2) Let me know your time zone and the time(s) of day you will most likely be able to post.
A: I am transitioning between jobs and inconveniently I live on the EST and CST time zone line so I switch. Weekdays I am primarily on EST. Weekends CST. I should easily be able to post at least once a day.
3) What is your experience with PbP? How many PbP games are you currently participating in? Do you have a particular PbP moment you are proud of?
A: I have done one pbp but the game died. I have run two pbem campaigns which is very similar in nature to pbp, a little slower.

Here we go: my application for Marvin Inkwell, tengu inquisitor extraordinaire.

Application:
Class: Inquisitor, with the ravener hunter and monster tactician archetypes
Alignment: Lawful Good
Link to Sandpoint: Marvin's been in the Sandpoint area for about two weeks now. He's not a permanent resident, instead traveling around a lot in the course of his work. He was most recently drawn to Sandpoint by rumors of giants in the area, following through on a grievance from the past (see background).
Livelihood: Marvin works as a mapmaker, navigating through areas of wilderness and charting them out for future travelers. In his past, though, he did a fair amount of thieving.
Rollplay vs Roleplay: In combat, he'll contribute mainly with damage and battlefield control from summons and his wolf companion, though he can hold his own as a switch hitter as well. Out of combat I see him as a scout, a tracker, a voice of reason and a rallying point against oppression. I don't really have a binary preference, because I think the two really blur together more than meets the eye - some of the best roleplaying moments I've seen have been driven by the mechanics of a combat or other encounter.
Progression: I'm planning on sticking with inquisitor for the foreseeable future, to advance the animal companion and summons. In a few levels he'll start picking up teamwork feats, so that opens up some interesting options.
Background:
Marvin grew up in a small community of tengus far from Sandpoint, an apprentice farmer with limited contact with the outside world. Even as a child, though, there was something that drew him out into the night. He felt like he belonged there, under the stars - his movements were soft, his vision was keen, and nocturnal creatures took a strange liking to this young man. And when he looked up at the moon, he felt a calling to do something greater, to be a part of something greater. It was this calling that led him to leave his town at the age of nineteen, to travel the region and see what there was to see.

But vague mystical callings don't put clothes on your back or food in your beak, so Marvin turned to some less noble pursuits. For a time he worked as a smuggler and thief, stealing for himself or whoever could pay. He wasn't the most charming or sociable acquaintance, but he was careful and resourceful and nice to have around. Nor was all of his work illegal - he occasionally served as a messenger or a guide, learning to navigate by the night sky. And he would also return to his hometown when he got the chance, to see his family and friends and make sure they were okay.

Until one time they weren't. Marvin returned home to find his town in ruins, most of the people dead or missing. By speaking to the few survivors he learned what had happened: a group of giants worshiping the demon lord Angazhan had passed through, tearing down everything in their path. Not just his people had been destroyed - the cultists of the Ravener King had crushed plants, butchered animals, demolished the entire landscape Marvin had once called home. Standing there amid the remnants, he once again felt that calling, stronger than ever, to actually get to work and make a difference. And in that moment, in the light of the full moon, Marvin accessed a power within himself, driven by his newfound conviction to stand up to those who seek to oppress or destroy the world around them.

So Marvin got to work. He found a starving wolf pup in the ruins and took it under his wing - or at least, under his feathered arms. He began traveling once more. Opportunities for heroics were limited, he found, especially for someone without much in the way of resources or combat experience. He helped defend a traveler or two from bandits, another from wild animals too desperate for him to dissuade. But most of the time he put his navigational talents to use making and selling maps, charting out the wilderness for others to make the nights a little bit more safe.

Until finally, he heard rumors of giants roaming near Sandpoint, and he just had to stop by and see...

Times: I'm currently in the Eastern Time Zone, although in a few weeks I'll be in the Pacific. I'll most likely be posting in the early afternoon and late evening, but my schedule is pretty flexible so I should be able to post whenever.
PbP: I've been in several PbP games on the forums over the past few years. I'm currently in two games, though it looks like one of them may be coming to a close. The moment that best comes to mind is probably here, where my kind and idealistic neutral good doctor defends his decision to worship a demon lord.

Background:
Alden was born in the Varisian north lands, but not in his family's ancestral home. Instead he was born to a Varisian guardsman and his new Ulfen bride in a noble's estate. The guardsman, a long time servant of a rather minor noble house, had married a young Ulfen maid after their people had come for a long stay to discuss a trade route. His father, a man who was rather unremarkable except for his love for his wife and son, raised the boy in the walls of the keep. He even grew alongside some of the lord's children as a playmate when he was younger.

He wanted to bring honor to not only his father's name, but to his Ulfen ancestors as well. Hearty people who prized skill at arms and bravery, he wanted to prove himself worthy of them both. When he was old enough he began training with the royal arms-man in sword combat, training day and night to learn how to fight with his childhood playmates. He was determined to be a soldier like his father and his mother's people.

Originally he wanted to be a member of the famed sword lords and had trained with anyone who visited the keep to test his skills. Nothing mattered more to him than being worthy of his father's pride, and his greatest commitment as a simple man was to serve his country as a soldier. He even began to travel towards Brevoy to attempt to find a master who would take him on. He joined a caravan with his father's blessing and set off. However on the road south his small caravan was attacked by brigands and if not for the intervention of a small group of clerics they may well have been overrun. The traveling clerics and monks were traveling south on an important mission and agreed to travel with the small band of arms-men and merchants.

Along the way Alden was introduced to the teachings of Sarenrae, a Goddess of redemption and loving. From a harsh north land he'd been raised to worship Abadar and had always wondered why the God seemed more concerned with order than prosperity. In Sarenrae he found a calling he had never expected. When they reached a fork in the southern road he chose to break from the original plan and followed the clerics to the temple of Sarenrae instead of heading for Brevoy.

Once there he spent weeks learning about the order of Sarenrae and was fascinated by their gentle and simple ways. When he pledged himself to the church he expected to be trained as a Cleric of the Goddess. Instead his skills seemed better served elsewhere and began training with their arms-men. For a full year he squired with a kindly older knight of the order who trained him extensively not only in sword combat the likes of which he'd never seen, but in the holy texts of the Dawnflower.

His graduation to the rank of Paladin was a great day for him. His mother, father and his Ulfen grandfather attended the ceremony and bestowed on him a sword forged by his Ulfen family to commemorate the event. From there he took his assignment and struck south-west to Sandpoint to act as a guard at the newly repaired temple. He's acted as more of a show-piece than an actual guard since his arrival, often trying to stay out of the way of the repairs. Though he's been known to share his meals on the steps of the temple with the beggar children, much to the dismay of some of the workers.

Paladin's Code:
I will protect my allies with my life. They are my light and my strength, as I am their light and their strength. We rise together.

I will seek out and destroy the spawn of the Rough Beast. If I cannot defeat them, I will give my life trying. If my life would be wasted in the attempt, I will find allies. If any fall because of my inaction, their deaths lie upon my soul, and I will atone for each.

I am fair to others. I expect nothing for myself but that which I need to survive.

I will uphold the law that serves the people. I will speak for the voiceless when the law fails them. If I must, I will throw down the law that chains them to evil designs.

The best battle is a battle I win. If I die, I can no longer fight. I will fight fairly when the fight is fair, and I will strike quickly and without mercy when it is not.

I will redeem the ignorant with my words and my actions. If they will not turn toward the light, I will redeem them by the sword.

I will not abide wanton evil, and will combat it with steel when words are not enough. I do not flinch from my faith, and do not fear embarrassment. My soul cannot be bought for all the stars in the sky.

I will provide aid to those who are lost on their path. I will abide imperfection of those who are learning, but not at the cost of the innocent.

My blade is my justice and my judgment. If I must I will grant a swift and peaceful passing into the next life to those who cannot be redeemed, and comfort to the sincerely repentant.

I will show the less fortunate the light of the Dawnflower. I will live my life as her mortal blade, shining with the light of truth.

Each day is another step toward perfection. I will not turn back into the dark.

Additional Information:

Class: Paladin

Alignment: Lawful Good (not Lawful Stupid)

Link to Sandpoint: Temple guard recently assigned

Rollplay vs Roleplay: In combat he can be a front line wall able to take and dish out damage. I opted out of spells with the archetype. Out of combat he's a diplomancer who's able to act as the party face if needed, or help the face if someone is better at it. Personally I prefer roleplay over rollplay simply because these characters feel more interesting when they get the chance to breathe between saving the world (or town).

Progression: No solid plan, but depending on needs of the party I can shift around to fit in. I prefer to mold with the group rather than have a set dynamic. Though I wouldn't be averse to dipping a level or two into Oracle at some point to pick up some nifty buffs and/or unique abilities to help the group.

Background: See Above.

Timezone: I'm EST and usually I post later at night around 12-3 am most times. Up late tonight, though.

Games: I'm in 1 at the moment. Alden was in another RotRL before I had to bow out of my PbP due to a family illness. We never finished the first scenario before I had to bow, so I'd love to see even the end of the festival.

Favorite moment: My Cavalier (Brother in Arms) got banged up rather nasty during a scuffle in their first fight in my current game. No healing magic to spare, so he planted himself with the archers and was using his shield to give them soft cover while tossing out buffs and trying to coordinate the counter-attack against the hobgoblins who were sacking the town. Very soldier over class type moment where it was fun to see him trying to be the commander in the chaos (and cursing in dwarvish).

Thanks everyone so far for your applications! I will get a list together a little later today with current applications and anything that I see missing for easy reference.

Here is what I have so far. Please, if I missed anyone, let me know.

Completed Applications
-----------------------------------

Alden - Human Paladin (Melee/Face)
Krios - Elven Rogue (Melee/Skills)
Noro - Human Barbarian (Melee)
"Chess" - Dwarf Fighter (Melee)
Rafael - Human Cleric (Support)
Sven - Human Ranger/Druid (Melee)
Cuthalian - Elf Fighter (Ranged)
Marvin - Tengu Inquisitor (Control/Ranged?)

Incomplete Applications
-----------------------------------

Ascherion - Half-elf Rogue (Needs Livelihood, In/Out of Combat contributions, PbP History)
Sylvia - Half-elf Witch (Needs Livelihood, In/Out of Combat contributions, PbP History)
Zaphkiel - Aasimar Warpriest (Needs Livelihood, In/Out of Combat contributions, Timezone, PbP History)
Zandril - Half-elf Swashbuckler (Needs Livelihood, In/Out of Combat contributions)

Livelihood: Works on the docks and on the merchant ships as a deckhand (mostly on the ship, The Bearded Harpy).

In combat: He's a tactical melee fighter, using his dexterity and mobility to move to more advantageous spots in combat.

Out of Combat: He uses his good looks and charm to bluff and diplomacise his way into and out of trouble.

Thanks Dak! The name of the character is Aramant.

Caster here with a ratfolk arcanist ready to go. I might need to adjust his stats somewhat.

Here are some answers to questions you ask about applications

Answers:

Alignment: NG
Link to Sandpoint: Matthias often runs errands to Sandpoint and has a few friends there. There's a decent chance that he is there running an errand at any given time. One of his best friends was the daughter of the priest who died in the fire.
Livelihood: Apprenticed to the librarian of Windsong Abbey.
In/Out of Combat contributions: In combat will cast buffs and battlefield control spells as well as IDing enemies. The brown fur transmuter is a really unique buffer that I've wanted to play for a while and who better to play it than someone with brown fur!? Out of combat, knowledge skills, a bit of stealth, and utility spells. Matthias will try to talk to people but it is very hard for him.
Plan to develop: Roleplay-wise, I intend Matthias to slowly get comfortable and come to trust his group of new friends, as he is naturally pretty shy at first. Mechanically, I plan on sticking with arcanist as it's a class I've never played and I'd love to compare it to other casters.
Background in alias but I can reproduce it here if that's helpful.
I'm in the eastern us time zone and I usually post once around 9 am and once around 5 pm my time.

I've been playing PBP here on the boards for about 6 months now pretty avidly. I'm currently in 7 games (GMing 3) and it's hard for me to get enought PBP. XD Nothing that I have GMed has ever died and, while I've been in a few dying campaigns as a player, I stuck with it, no matter how painful, until the GM called it off.

A moment I'm particularly proud of was when my 5e halfling druid first gained her ability to wildshape. It was both a coming of age moment and an expression of ashamed anger at the vile deeds of another halfling. Mishima was actually the GM for that. Here's the link.

Ascherion - Half-elf Rogue (Needs Livelihood, In/Out of Combat contributions, PbP History)
Sylvia - Half-elf Witch (Needs Livelihood, In/Out of Combat contributions, PbP History)

Is it ok if I answer for both of us?

Asch:
Livelihood: odd jobs and small time caravan guard
In/out combat: sneak attacks via flanking and eventually dimensional dervish line through shadow dancer/ trap finding and scouting his social skills are lacking but he takes a great interest in mechanical puzzles
PbP history: I’ve played in a number of games through my time at paizo since 2010, my favorite game was Legacy of Marianasu, but one of my favorite moments was driving a van through some sort of sand monster flipping the van in the process in a chutulutech PbP.

Sylvia:
Livelihood: healing, painting, and small time caravan guarding
In/out combat: buffing/debuffing and healing/ can double as a bit of a party face or backup face through skill selection.
PbP history: same as Havoc I have been on paizo since 2010. One of my favorite moments was playing an archer machine gun of doom and blasting a bone devil to pieces in two turns, as revenge for dropping one of her allies into the negatives.

Since I got a PM about this, thought I would explain to all. This is only a list of people who have added some amount of application details, if you have just dotted or expressed interest without any character details, you have not been included on the list as of yet. This does not mean you can not still apply, just that I am only keeping track of those who have submitted some details.

Silver Crusade RPG Superstar 2013 Top 8

Develop character concept:
Character concept should include the following:
  • Class: Wizard (exploiter wizard)/Unchained Rogue/Arcane Trickster
  • Race: Samsaran
  • Alignment: CG
  • Characters link to Sandpoint: His adopted grandmother, Madame Niska Mvashti, lives there. His adopted mother, Koya Mvashti, travels on a regular caravan route that between Riddleport, Magnimar, and Korvosa two or three times a year, but spends most of its time relatively close to Sandpoint.
  • How long have you been in Sandpoint? It has been a few months since the caravan returned from its most recent trip.
  • Are you a resident? Sort of.
  • Livelihood: He helps his mother with her fortune telling (he has inherited a special Harrow deck from his adopted family), and gets up to some minor petty theft (only taking small things from those he thinks can afford to miss them).
  • Rollplay vs Roleplay: I like both.
  • How will your character contribute to the group in and out of combat? Out of combat with various spells and trap disabling. In combat with spells and sneak attacks.
  • Do you prefer one over the other? I like both.
  • Progression: Take a level of wizard with the exploiter wizard archetype, continue as wizard until I qualify for Arcane Trickster (using Accomplished Sneak Attacker to meat the sneak attack requirements) and then continue as Arcane Trickster.
  • Background: When the samsaran known in this life as Lal Rhem most recently reincarnated, his life began in the town of Sandpoint. Lal Rhem was taken in and raised by Koya Mvashti, and all his life felt that some great destiny awaited him. Try as he might to prepare for it, he also felt that he was not ready and would never be ready. Yet he strove to prove himself, both to Koya and to the quiet voices of his past lives which whispered to him in still moments that if Lal Rhem acquitted himself well he would finally break the cycle of rebirth and reach enlightenment.

  • Let me know your time zone and the time(s) of day you will most likely be able to post. I'm in the Eastern US, so I'll probably be posting most often from 8am to 5pm.
  • What is your experience with PbP? I've mostly played PFS games. I've played a few APs which I dropped out of because I over committed myself, which I will not do again.
  • How many PbP games are you currently participating in? 1 PFS game that should be wrapping up soon.

    - Characters link to Sandpoint: In town helping with the opening of the new temple. Staying in the Rusty Dragon Inn until he completes this assignment.
    - Livelihood: Knight of the Temple of Serenrae
    - Rollplay vs Roleplay: I like an even balance of both as I find it tends to make for more exciting play for everyone.
    - Progression: Haven't really fully decided how I'm going to go with the character yet. I'd like to change based on the needs of the game and how I think Erden would react to his situation.
    - Background: I have this contained in the alias.
    2) Let me know your time zone and the time(s) of day you will most likely be able to post:
My timezone is GMT. I usually can post twice a day while working; 6-8am and 8-10pm, and more when I'm not; check periodically throughout the day
    3) What is your experience with PbP? I'm relatively new to PbP but I have a good grasp of how to format the posts and how to best make use of the medium from looking at other PbP games and stealing their ideas ;-). I'm currently in two other games but I'm enjoying them so much that I'd like to join more.

    The second is

    Adarion:

Most of the detail is contained in his profile but again I have to adjust stats and gear to conform to your requirements so:

    Adjusted Stats:

    Spoiler:
    Str:10, Dex:15, Con:10, Int:14, Wis:10, Cha:17

    Gear:

    Spoiler:
Remove 2 jars of Alchemists Fire and One jar of Acid to bring within budget.

    Application Requirements:

    Spoiler:

    0) Download & read the Players Guide. NOTE - The original guide may provide additional useful information on the races/classes done
    1) Develop character concept. Crunch does not need to be complete but it can be. Character concept should include the following:
    - Class: Sorcerer (Arcane Bloodline)
    - Alignment: CG
    - Characters link to Sandpoint: His research brought him to Sandpoint to find out more about Ancient Thassilon. Staying in the Rusty Dragon Inn while he carries out his research.
    - Livelihood: Guard in Crying Leaf in the Mierani Forest; Part-time Alchemist
    - Rollplay vs Roleplay: I like an even balance of both as I find it tends to make for more exciting play for everyone.
    - Progression: Again, I haven't really fully decided how I'm going to go with the character yet and I'd like to change based on the needs of the game and how I think Adarion would react to his situation. I might go into Arcane Archer depending on what the rest of the group consists of.
    - Background: I have this contained in the alias.

I've no particular preference as I like both characters equally. If you like one more than the other or like another players' submission that fills the role of one of mine I'd be happy to play the other.

    Ziva question answers!:

    0) I have also played the -very- beginning of the game, up until helping the noble hunt a boar. I'm not sure if that's canon, or not, though. :)

    1) Develop character concept. Crunch does not need to be complete but it can be. Character concept should include the following:
    - Class:
Ziva Tobyn is an Archon-blooded Aasimar Restorer Druid with Herbalism as my Nature Bond

    - Alignment:
    Neutral Good

    - Characters link to Sandpoint: How long have you been in Sandpoint? Are you a resident? If not, why are you there?
Ziva grew up there, as a ward of the church... prior to it burning. Now, she's back because of the new church, as well as the Swallowtail Festival.

    - Livelihood: How does your character make a living?
Nature Provides. Ziva is handy when it comes to foraging, as well as being quite capable of giving handouts to others. Her druidic herbalism, healing and Survival skills have been her fallbacks when it came to continuing her odyssey - she hasn't really sold her things, but instead has usually bartered - or relied on the good memories of those she's helped.

    - Rollplay vs Roleplay: How will your character contribute to the group in and out of combat? Do you prefer one over the other?
Both go hand in hand for me as a player. Pathfinder is not a great system for 'life simulator', in my opinion. Combat is kind of a core portion, in that regard, but I don't shy away from noncombat things; in fact, I tend to gain a little more enjoyment out of the non-combat aspects, as long as there is growth potential. I'm here for the collaborative story more-so than the game itself. Ziva is competent in melee (though hardly dedicated), and a capable caster. With druidic herbalism, she will also be able to pass off potions, which combined with restorer will leave the party seldom lacking in free healing. With that in mind, I highly suggest finding ways for us to use potions en masse. I don't intend to disrupt campaign economics by using her SLAs or potions as sources of money, so having occasions where my surplus potion coffers are emptied would be a wise choice on your part. I'm really interested in leveraging Survival and Handle Animal in a campaign - perhaps rearing cute little critters.

    - Progression: How do you plan to mechanically develop the character (ie dips, multiclassing, PrCs, etc)? If you don't have a plan yet, that is ok.
If something goes particularly grimdark, Shapeshifting Hunter via a dip in Ranger is always a possibility (to represent her becoming more red-in-tooth-and-claw). Otherwise, I intend to take Leadership for a magical beast of some sort (or an intelligent item if there's a good one for my character!), Natural Spell, and Planar Wild Shape for HOLY BEAR. Otherwise, I will focus on enabling, disabling, and SUDDENLYBEAR, as my character grows, and my feat choices will likely back this up.

    - Background: What is the characters backstory? Doesn't need to be a novel, but at least 1-2 paragraphs of an overview.
Ziva was found abandoned along the lost coast as a child too young to speak. Rather than being left to fend for her life, she was taken to Sandpoint, where she found a home in the church. Her exact age is unknown, but she spent the largest portion of her youth within its walls. When the city burned, she stayed close to the town and helped to rebuild in what ways she could, easing suffering and hurt, before eventually deciding to ease her own hurt with a journey. Taking the loss of her home as a sign, she decided to travel the world (or at least, what parts she could easily reach on foot).

The last five years have been marked by learning to survive and then thrive, meeting others and shaping her own faith. During this time, she's kept her passion for helping others, but has become more inundated with the ebbs and flows of the world. Her faith has been built upon with each new faith that she finds. Several of her actions are misinterpreted, though well-meaning, applications of friendly faiths. One such misinterpreted action has to do with a follower of Ashava, who left a lit lantern until it burned out - as a direct result, Ziva leaves pretty stones enchanted with her continual flame in all of the places she goes. She's less concerned with what happens to her little stars than she is in seeing a brighter world.

Her journeys have rarely taken her far from home, so it was no surprise when news of the Swallowtail Festival (which she returns for every year) reached her. The addition of the new cathedral simply reinforced her desire to return, and see an old wound mended.

    2) Let me know your time zone and the time(s) of day you will most likely be able to post.
I am in the Central Time Zone. I work evenings, so I am mostly available around 11:30 AM and 11:30 PM for posts.

    3) What is your experience with PbP? How many PbP games are you currently participating in? Do you have a particular PbP moment you are proud of?
PbP is one of my passions. I interact with others through it, frequently. It's a way to spend time with others without having to 'always be on'. I excel at picking up and dropping hooks for others. I am -awful- at pushing forward. I am currently active in 5 games, watching one, and semi-active in another that runs very slowly. As for PbP moments, I have several. Ila's was discovering her mother was her phantom (she didn't know she was dead). For Ary, well... No oath was ever required. For Sora, it wasn't onscreen, just a bit of writing, but here's a link. Finally, playing with themes and interacting with other players have left me with proud moments too numerous to count (mostly, pride in their accomplishments). Literary epiphanies (sudden understanding of just why someone did something strange, years later, because I better understand the character) is probably just behind sneezing in my list of favorite things to do.
