Posts incoming! Sorry for the delay, guys. @_@ I woke up to the glory of the caffeine withdrawal headache and it went full-blown misery before I realized what the problem was. Might still take me a while to assemble the posts -- just letting you know I haven't forgotten! c:

I realized I made a mistake with my last post, my initiative is 11 so my 1st round’s movement and readied action should not happen until after two of the enemies have gone (yellow and blue act before me).

I hope it doesn’t affect anything that I’ve gone out of order, and if it does, pretend I haven’t actually moved yet. Sorry about that, I’ll be more mindful in the future.

Silly you, looking at the GM Screen! :) Not all GMs do this, but I prefer to batch my battles so that they don't take thirty years to play through. :) That means that the highest initiative determines what side goes first and then all of that group goes before the other side -- so in this case, Vari rolled the highest initiative, so the players got to go first on top of having a surprise round. The rest of the numbers are really just to keep things in some semblance of order and to allow players to act in the way that best benefits them. For example, even if Vari technically goes first on the player side of things, Henarr gave her a buff, so I could rewrite the list so that she's held her turn for the buff... But ultimately, it's pbp, so I guess I should point out that I'm going for efficacy instead of complexity.

Remember -- each combat round only lasts six seconds, so it doesn't actually matter what order things happen in, they just kind of all happen at the same time. Actual combat isn't so convenient as to allow target-swapping and such in the midst of battle, because, you know, if you're swinging at someone and an ally happens to kill 'em first, well. You started swinging, you know? :)

So! I'm not too picky about it, but I don't think you should be all that worried about it. Besides, my post said that you could act, right? You're bolded. :P Don't sweat it so much!

To be honest, I might be more complex and actually stick to stated rolls in other PFS games, but I feel like we're running a bit behind schedule and I'd like to get everything finished up and sheets out by the 30th, when Session I is supposed to end since I don't know if anyone's committed any of the characters in my games to games in Session II. So, basically, I don't want to hold anyone up, so I'm going for efficacy at the moment. @^@

Granted, I'm still going a bit slower than I would've liked, but I'm trying! @___@

Just to clarify, was this your first PFS game or your first PFS game via PbP? It's important since there's a new-to-PFS boon, but if you've already got it, I don't want to duplicate. :)

I’ve been playing D&D since 1997 and Pathfinder since 2014, this is my first PbP game though, and my first time with organized play :)

What was this boon roll for?

At each PFS game you attend/play, you have a chance of obtaining a boon just for the joy of sharing your glorious self with us. :) If you roll a nat 20, you then roll another die to determine which you get. Alas, none of us got it this time. :<

Just a minor clarification: this doesn't happen for each game you play. We're currently in the middle of a GameDay event; this game was a part of that GameDay. All GameDay games get to roll for boons; this doesn't happen outside of a convention-level event like GameDay.

EDIT: Also, there's nothing that feels quite as terrible as thinking you've finished doing all of the sheets and then realizing that you only gave everyone 1 PP instead of the 2 PP ya'll earned. x_x

This seems pretty self-explanatory, but I have some clarifying questions I'd like to ask:

Firstly, I can pick one of the three items in the Ryze Kuja file, but how can I document this? Do I have to send you my choice or can I just add this to my gear?

Secondly, there is a list of 5 items on Triquelyn's sheet. Do I receive all of these items, or do I have to pick only one?

Also, I need help finding a new game... :(

I've been scouring the Flaxseed Lodge recruitment page, and I've messaged a couple DM's, but no one has room or the games being played are higher than level 1. One DM I messaged asked me if I would be willing to play a pre-gen lvl4 character and apply the exp/fame/prestige to my lvl 1 character, and I told him I was willing to, but I don't really want to do that either. If I don't get into a group before Oct 1st, am I screwed?

Not necessarily...while not a lot of other new games start while Gameday is running a few do...and I've been keeping an eye out for games where people have dropped out and there have been a few, but none within your tier. Many of the Gameday 2 sessions have been pushed back from Octoner 1 though due to the earlier site downtime issues...one of mine isn't starting till 15 October...

If you don't find a game in the next couple of weeks let me know...that October 15 session is a low tier game and I've git Wymarc assigned to it...I'd be willing to give up my slot in the game to you if the GM is OK with it and doesn't have a prior wait list...

In the meantime, if I see a low tier opening, I'll try to snag it for you...

Also, there are a couple other sites that play PFS games, just not so much as here...one is Mythweavers, don't know much about it but you could Google it...the other is RPGgeek.com. RPGgeek is where I got my start into PFS and then I was referred over here.

They don't have as many PFS games there but I have played five of six over there. The main guy over there to ask for info would be Woodenman; he's a good GM and could probably give you some tips /info on finding a game there...

Triquelyn - I'm starting one on myth weavers. The "format" is a bit different if you're willing to adapt.

You actually don't have to do anything until the time you've chosen to utilize one of the boons from the sheet you've received. At that point, the GM that's running the game for you at the time of your decision will sign off on it for you. :)

And yes, you add it to your gear! Don't forget to keep a tracklist of your inventory purchases, etc. It'll be really helpful!!

Also, don't forget that you can make some purchases with your PP. I know most first-level players prefer to snag a Wand of CLW as soon as they're able.

Annnnd, yeah, these guys are boss and are totally correct. :)

(Please elaborate on what you mean by "five items on Trique's sheet". Do you mean the five items on the lower half? Those are items that you can purchase at those costs. :) As long as you encounter items such as these in games, you have access to them in order to purchase them for your kit afterward!)
