Forewarned You can always act in the surprise round even if you fail to make a Perception roll to notice a foe, but you are still considered flat-footed until you take an action. In addition, you receive a bonus on initiative checks equal to 1/2 your wizard level (minimum +1). At 20th level, anytime you roll initiative, assume the roll resulted in a natural 20.
Send Senses As a standard action, you place a scrying sensor at a point within medium range (100 feet + 10 feet/wizard level) that you can see and have line of effect to. You can see or hear (not both) through this sensor for number of rounds equal to 1/2 your wizard level (minimum 1). The sensor otherwise functions as a clairaudience/clairvoyance spell with a caster level equal to your wizard level. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier.
Low-Light Vision See twice as far as a human in dim light, distinguishing color and detail.

Backstory:

Triquelyn Ethrendil is an elf who trained with gnomes and illusion magic in his youth before entering an arduous 15-year education at the Tathlyn Academy for Elven Magics. He was quite a prodigy for his age, especially in the arts of Illusions and Divination. Trique could see things before they happen, or even things that were happening presently but on the other side of the world. They would come to him during long meditations, and he knew the path of Divine arts was calling him. He focused his studies in the knowledge of scrying, crystal balls, foresight, and detecting things that other wizards might find difficult to see, but while he was at academy Trique retained an affinity for Illusion and Conjuration classes, while typically steering away from Enchantment and Necromancy - as he found these rather pointless and boorish.

After the final exams of his fourteenth year, he went to a party as long-held tradition of the Tathlyn Academy; where upon reaching your final year, a celebration is held in your honor. During this party, Trique had far too much feywine, and engaged in a frivolous romp in the sheets with a fellow wizard entering her final year as well. Her name was Nylian Fen'Loris. They courted unofficially during their final year, as the demand of study is quite rigorous and relationships are almost impossible.

After the academy, Trique and Nylian were married. They traveled, enjoyed theatre, spent many a night dueling with magic to see who was going to cook that evening, and replaced many couches over the years. They were married for 28 years, which to an elf, isn't quite long at all. In their 22nd year, Trique and Nylian parented a daughter named Naomi. She was perfect; beautiful, strong, well-spoken, and learned quickly. It was in this same year that Nylian's father, an elf of only 107 years old, died suddenly from a strange disease. Not long after that, only 6 years later and in Trique and Nylian's 28th year of marriage, Nylian contracted the same disease as her father.

The disease swept through her quickly, but she was a fighter. Trique and Nylian both did as much research as possible spending every waking hour on finding a cure. They visited many healers and knowledgeable individuals, but to no avail - they didn't find a cure, but they did learn that the disease was hereditary. The disease claimed her life in only 3 short months.

Trique mourned for her, but in his pining, he kept to his researching, and found that the exceptionally rare disease was in fact, incurable. Several decades passed, and Naomi also contracted the disease. Although Trique could not save Naomi from dying, he had found a way to bind Naomi's spirit, but this magic could only be used to keep one's spirit inside an animal. Naomi died, and before her spirit could pass on to the afterlife, Trique bound her spirit into Naomi's favorite pet, a white rabbit.

Trique's mission in life is find a magical solution that would bring Naomi back to life, as he guards her spirit closely, so that one day he could reunite with his daughter.
