Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18

Right, so we got some cool loot from that mission, but are still no closer to being able to find out what is going on with the dryad, and even less able to actually fight the cult face to face I suspect.

Maybe we need the dwarves as allies to help us crush them. Just gonna throw it out there. Enemy of my enemy and all that eh?

HP: 08/22, AC: 17(Max 21(T13,FF14), DR: 1(Water Based Critters), F:+4, R:+7, W:+2, Perc: +6, Init: +3.

Why do the Dwarfs have ta' be enemies...?

Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18

Good question. Lets go ask them :D

Because they have no fashion sense.

Also, they'll tell you to put and keep your clothes on! :O

Aye, 'couldn't hurt ta' talk to tha' folks, hey?

Though them bein' all....stuffy an' tight sounds like not tha' neatest thing... >_>

The dwarves are fighting for their lives right now--they are not doing so well. We will give them a little time to catch up while you return to Elfhome.

Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18

No chance that we could magically come to their rescue then?

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Perhaps they should consider accessorizing in something beyond "beard" to receive a sorely-needed morale bonus!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

They have axes, too.

Can't help it. Boomer cracks me up.

Per +5, Low-Light Vision | HP 33/33 | AC 20, Touch 11, Flat 19 | F +4, R +2, W +10

Can't watch that right now, but for a Dwarf - axes are necessities, not accessories. ;)

HP 40/45, AC 21*, Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +8, ArcRes 2/8 Active Effects: Heightened Senses, Defending Bone (45), Extended Shield, Unseen Servant,

Wow. That was amazing. That guy is awesome.

that is very cool.

Just a heads up guys, I have my partners father over for the bank holiday weekend, so it will be Monday evening before I can post again.

3 oils of keen edge
3 potions of shield of faith +3
5 potions protection from arrow 10
3 potions of bull's strength
2 potions cat's grace
4 oils of magic vestment +1 (+1 to armor or shield for 6 hours)

I was wondering if I can snag a potion of Keen Oil, protection from arrows and a shield of faith. Other then that I'm not worry about the rest, as those three together will make an excellent tanking combo. :)

As for the Dwarf discussion, I don't mind aiding them if it'll help us in the long run. :)

The Dryad will be ours...

Eventually!

Those are all good items. Divvy them up, frontliners! The highly intelligent, but not so wise wizard suggests:

Oils of Keen edge: Wil, Azlain, and Thalas.

Shield of faith +3: Wil, Azlain, Suny (deflection bonus).

Prot. from Arrows: all but Elorin and me (we've got spells).

Bull's strength Wil, Azlain, Azlain again.

Cat's Grace: Suny and Eirel

Oils: enhances armor and shields, so it stacks with Shield of Faith. Wil, Azlain, Suny, Eirel.

Sounds OK?

Seems fine

HP 40/45, AC 21*, Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +8, ArcRes 2/8 Active Effects: Heightened Senses, Defending Bone (45), Extended Shield, Unseen Servant,

Sounds good. Potions added.

GM, do anything like Spring-loaded Wrist Sheaths exist in this world?

basically, is there any way to speed up the process of retrieving a potion from a pouch?

Sounds good to me adding potions now~

1x Oil Keen Edge, 1x Shield of Faith +3, 1x Prot from arrows, 1x Bull Strength, 1x oil of magic vestment

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure there are things like that mentioned in the "Ultimate Equipment" book. Will take some more time and digging to get the exact information from me , though.

Much cheers to all.

HP 40/45, AC 21*, Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +8, ArcRes 2/8 Active Effects: Heightened Senses, Defending Bone (45), Extended Shield, Unseen Servant,

yeah, that's the source material. I was asking if something like it exists in this setting.

No, the handy haversack is the closest thing for that.

That reminds me. Can Seltyn take a craft feat, or would you rather he didn't?

Male Elf Rg 3 / Dr 2 HP: 30/33 AC:18

Not sure that we have enough downtime to really make use of it to the best extent.

Roger that!

Im just waiting on an answer about the Animal companions available in the campaign. Since it was homebrew I thought perhaps there would be something of Elven Variety. No rush though as I know RL can get us caught up in all sorts of stuff.

Depending on the answer I may go for the weapon bond, I've just never really... survived to the bond stage yet so testing all my options before it becomes permanent. :)

So...folks want to put forwards ideas fro what feat Suny should take as her 5th lvl pick?

Kind of running out of ideas atm.

Much cheers to all.

Male Human Sorcerer

Deadly Aim is a good one. More damage on the x-bow shots.

*Nods* Good point.

Thank'e. Any one might have any other ideas before I commit characters to page?

Not sure what you mean?

Can Suny adjust her known spells with a new level in Fighter? Or does she have to wait until another level of Bard?

Was that a suggestion of adjusting to take 'Summon monster' and perhaps a feat to boost such?

Much cheers to all. (^_^)

We don't have to go in any particular order. Your characters can just talk whenever. We'll assume we just passed the bottle around and said what we felt like saying.

@ Suny: You need 5 levels of bard to switch out a spell (p. 35).

Wil qualifies for the level 5 bond.

Key question is to pick a mount or an object. Mounts tend to be limited in dungeon crawls. This campaign is at least 50% dungeon crawl. Nonetheless, when used, the mount is quite an asset.

I know I didn't give specific guidance, but mounts are normal horses at first. At later levels (for example around 9 when I think adding flying to Azlain's reportoire is a possibility as wizards get level 5 spells) the possibility of flying mounts becomes more real.

Sorry Wil, should have answered earlier. Previous elf groups typically had a paladin, and elven paladins were typically slated for pegasus or possibly even unicorn at the higher levels. There is a whole story line constructed in this campaign to cover the quest for a mount as mounts required a quest in old time AD&D. So, at the risk of spoiling, I would go for a mount as your bond.

Oh lol you were spoiling, I was planning on the mount and I do appreciate the incentive for it as the weapon bond is tempting. But being an old school dnd'er ;) I prefer the appeal mount and Pegasi are an a special favorite of mine. Unicorns were always off limits as they were for female riders in my friends campaign in days of yore! lol

And no problem with the slow response CM I assumed RL was busy as ever for you as I know the feeling. ;)

I also played a halfing Cavalier in 2nd edition who rode a miniature pony. He was alot of fun as he eventualy got a riding lizard. :)

I look forward to the future challenges that a mount will bring upon us. :D

If we're playing without Elorin, we might want to reconsider the island thing.

We don't have anyone who's all that charming. Suny has the charisma, but not the skill ranks.

Wil's our diplomat, for now, and he doesn't suck. 17 charisma. Elorin is just less threatening, with her maxed ranks and light armor.

We got lucky with Elorin way back at 1st level. When she's not the face, she's great support. I was hoping she'd hit 7th, and start casting Haste, so Seltyn could cast other spells.

I can deal with a party of 5.

I am hoping Elorin can come back soon.

Should we change our course of action, then?

Very much cheers to all.

PMed her a few days ago. Nothing so far.

I am having to get my resume ready and apply for jobs for my second career. Sorry I haven't been keeping things running along. The military still gives me a retirement after 20, so it is not like I am under a lot of pressure, but it is taking some time. I will get a combined post to update everyone on both the dwarves and elves.

Sorry for delay.

So with Elorin's absence should we assume that we hav One Shot with us? Will can carry it it's no big deal but i only just thought about it. And its upto Chainmail :/

You have One Shot. It can be used by anyone regardless of weapon proficiency.

Will move on. Elorin has, through story bonuses, garnered a significant bonus to diplomacy. I was hoping to have her back. But, the story must continue.

Who should use it? Suny's probably our best shot, but she's specialized in x-bows. Our meleers would be good with it, but they're meleers. I'd like to see someone using it a lot.
