You will find that I am not into 'railroading' too much. The initial counter to barter for supplies was forced, but I have tried to leave options open. The raid on the depot is one plan that the new human kingdom is invested in. It isn't the only option.

As political events factor into the equation, there are many ways to go. Your time here has revealed that a desert lies to the north where the nomadic desert tribes live and they are not allied with anyone. So more options open up as you explore.

Male Elf Ranger 4

Yeah thats another option. To be fair, I almost want to go to the undercity first. Only issue is that it means that we would need more poisoning on the guards etc on another occasion. I am torn.

Allies, wealth or go with the raid and to hell with it.

We need more strength, Talon cannot do it all. I vote for the undercity

Lol

Sorry if my post was unclear. Wil was willing to go through with liberating the items, so long as there was an equal exchange. But saying 'raid' just causes Wil to regret even thinking about it. :)

Also the commission was for after the first mission was accomplished. :

Some dungeon crawling coming up.

I think the question of bringing the animal companion in the sewers is moot. Unless Marlamin is lurking waiting for the dungeon-crawling action.

Male Elf Ranger 4

What are the Spider's terms for coming with us into the Undercity? As far as animal companion etc, we haven't heard from Marlamin in a while, am wondering what's going on.

Lets get going with this.

Make sure all spell lists are current.

Need a marching order with the new guys/gals.

Need time of day entering the undercity.

I assume the closest area will be the entry point.

Is Spider aka The Spider going?

Wil is looking to give everyone an equal cut of what we find in the undercity and those who perform above and beyond will be reward more so. Wil is a very fair guy when it comes to everyone getting their just reward. Now if people are just living paperweights... Yeah he will have some harsh words but for the most part I don't see that happening. :)

Wil has an ax of 20 and lots of lay on hands, potions, etc. So I am totally willing to take lead or rear guard and put the squishy ones in the middle. ;)

As of time of day I would say either morning or nightime as we have the advantage with lowlight vision over some humanoid opponents. :)

Just my two cents.

I will post in game shortly~

Male Elf Ranger 4

I have to admit I think Talon would most likely like to go on point, +9 perception is pretty good after all, and it is pretty much what I built the guy for.

No spell list to deal with as of yet, but I do have 200 odd gold to spend, does anyone have some suggestions?

M Elf Wiz 9 Init +4/ HP 65/65// AC: 22 18/T:17/FF:14 - Percep: +11/ F 8/R 9/W 8 /CMB 4 - CMD 17

Talon, Spider, Wilaml, Seltyn, Flambeaux, Suny.

Seltyn will cast light on F's banner stick, and Suny can cast dancing lights if we need more light than that. I take it that's all the people we have for now, and Spider is some kind of fighter or rogue. We'll keep F out of any fights, if we can.

I'll be ready with an enlarge for Wilaml, if we can do it. Can't think of anything 200 will get Talon, other than some special arrows (silver, cold iron, etc.), if they can be had.

Thoughts?

Much cheers to ye and yours.

Other then special ammo he could afford some different types of potions or more healing potions~

Other then that I am not sure. ^^:

Male Elf Ranger 4

That was pretty much what I was thinking. Might try and upgrade to a masterwork backpack if they exist in the core rulebook. Other than that, I want to keep away from special ammo for the minute.

How are we handling loot distribution? I know currently I am carrying the bow of awesomness, but if someone else wishes to use it they are more than welcome to.

Personally I would suggest a policy whereby he who can use it best gets it, whatever it is

*shrugs* yeah but sometimes that can mean a single player gets a massive share of the loot pile and everyone else gets a little nipped. With this group thus far I don't think it will file anyone up but that's why Wil suggested the loot distribution to the group. If you find some under awesome sword, then one guy rocks while everyone else kinda lags behind them. But if you sell said weapon or find a compromise~ then the money from the sale can be distributed evenly and everyone can purchase better gear which brings the group as a whole up. Thus increasing our survival factor.

Granted this is case by case basis. But honestly if we suddenly found a holy avenger I would rather get a massive compensation from the church in donating such a weapon then be the uber badass in the party.

Yet again though, that's a case by case basis. We will cross that bridge IF it comes. :)

Edit:

Another system was once the coinage, art and jewels were divided then people would roll initiative and pick one item they wanted until the reached the end of the treasure sheet. Then people could barter or sell items they aquire and etc.

Lots of ways to do it. But those are the two simplest that I know of. I can make a spreadsheet to keep track of things if needed. Let me know~

Just so I avoid causing confusion.

When I type italics are thoughts, bold writing is speech. Or anything with "x".

Just so its clear my character post was a catching up with what Suny did up to the time we reached the damp area. When we reached the damp area he wasn't talking he was quietly readying himself for what he couldn't see.

Sorry about that next time I will spoiler to avoid confusion if I caused any.

:)

Male Elf Ranger 4

Oops, my apologies. Alas its also too late to go back and edit my post.

No problems my friend! I just wanted to clarify and make sure I wasn't annoying you guys. ;) Suny knows my posting style but I keep forgetting that I am still among new friends lol.

So let me know if they're is anything I need to change up. :)

Male Elf Ranger 4

Nothing needs changing as best as I can tell. Lets just find the end to this hell and some cool magic items whilst we are at it.

Well, it would be good if the raid would go well also.

Project came up for work, so I'll get the map up tomorrow. Have to use excel for work instead of making maps :-(

NO worries. Hope everything is going swell for you and yours. :)

Male Elf Ranger 4

Whenever works for you.

Male Elf Ranger 4

Just as an aside, that last barrage of bolts put Talon to minus 9 hp, enough to kill him because of the issue that you can go to minus constitution score. Now I don't much want Talon to die, but if he must then that's ok.
The heal pack brings him back to minus 3, but like I say, he is still technically dead before the heal pack goes on

It was an elven pack so he is OK.

Male Elf Ranger 4

Ok then

With that last lay on hands Talons will be back up. Although Wil is in the way now. :/ at least though I can cure him and myself more easily. :) the gift of life feat isn't so useful when no one injures me. Lol darn it.

Also what will was saying was mainly trying to get people ruffled and fighting back the unbathed dirty comments were for our attackers.

So the diceroller hates me lately.... In another pbp my paladin laid on hands for 1 HP each 4 times in a row. That sucked. :(

Male Elf Ranger 4

Have you seen my rolls? Double critical misses. Ouchie!

If I hit one of us, I am so so so sorry

Spoiler:
HP: 08/22, AC: 17(Max 21(T13,FF14), DR: 1(Water Based Critters), F:+4, R:+7, W:+2, Perc: +6, Init: +3.

Not to worry. The dice roller seems to take it in turns with its level of dice rolls. :)

Much cheers to you and yours.

Male Elf Ranger 4

Yeah but I run critical misses in an almost insanely cruel fashion. Basically if you crit miss, and confirm the crit miss, then you roll two 2d6. First one decides what stat you affect, the second just how much damage you have just done to the stat.

A ranger in one of my old games used to shoot himself in the thinky bits a lot under those rules.

Critical misses are optional. I don't use them in my games.

No problems Talon, although it would be bad if I was dropped by friendly fire instead of the enemy. lol

What happens will happen though. :) At least your alive though ^^;

For a rough experience roadmap - the legacy characters are slightly ahead of the newly joined.
Talon and Seltyn should be leveling after this encounter -- Suny and Wil should be leveling after the next sufficiently challenging one after this.

I should probably be doing a better job describing the desperate fight with rats in a tunnel -- but I think wolf-sized rat and men with rat faces pretty much says it all.

Spoiler:
HP: 08/22, AC: 17(Max 21(T13,FF14), DR: 1(Water Based Critters), F:+4, R:+7, W:+2, Perc: +6, Init: +3.

Wil isn't easily scared, other then not being able to see what hes fighting he really fears no enemy. Comes with the job description. ;) Its a nice fight though, don't get me wrong! Wil doesn't like the way its going but hes not feeling like they are overwhelmed, only that when Talon fell the others fell into a little disarray. Except Suny, she was getting chewed on and Seltyn was going WWF with a large rat. :)

Male Elf Ranger 4

Just out of interest, how much crawling is likely to be done? Would it be worth taking favoured terrain (underground) for the campaign? Or should I take something else?

Male Elf Ranger 4

Because of being able to shoot two arrows in a round, I tend to be the main damage dealer in the game thus far, even before the barbarian went.

Still, we are doing ok, and Talon is looking forward to the extra HP and so on. Plus it means I am only a level away from my own animal companion and spells lol. I think it might be a case of CLW being the only spell i know though cause its sure as heck come in useful

Well, we can focus on getting you some better armor. Like a Buckler, a buckler doesn't effect your attacks with a bow and gives you a +1 to ac.

Male Elf Ranger 4

True, although stuff like mithril armours tend to be fairly good for me, if expensive. I really don't want to be slowed down at all, the character is too weak to be bogged down by anything, so I need to keep up the 30 foot speed

I am trying to be the super-flexible DM -- but I would consider a solid amount of time underground.

Recap: Encounter 1 - Urban combat, but superb diplomatic skills avoided all combat.

Encounter 2 Jungle/wilderness with a set of ruins.

Current setup - an entire two level underground city to explore. Infiltrating a huge fortress.

In the air: (1)Encounter to gain a ship, coastal/underwater encounter.
(2)Future explorations of the jungle or returning to fight the Rovagugers in their jungle.
(3)Visit to the desert north.

Thanks to Wil and Suny for injecting new life in the elf team. Couldn't let the dwarves get too far ahead. I hope you are are having as much fun as we are (I hope Talon and Seltyn aren't around from the original six out of politeness).

Male Elf Ranger 4

I am still enjoying the game, god knows its so much better now with some new life into the bugger. Its been fun to play in, although I am not enjoying the near death stuff at all lol. But its been fun

I am enjoying it thus far and I am very glad that I am not being a nuisance with my long posts. I tend to get wordy and that's my way of staying connected to a character. AS I have stated before, pleawe let me know if I do get a little annoying. LOL

Wil here!

@Chainmail: Hopefully you don't mind me doing this for just a day or so, as Talon was MIA. Thats why I made it clear that this was an NPC ;). But if you'd rather run him that is of course upto you. :)

No problem, had to look up some rules today.

Rapid shot requires a full attack and Talon had stood and held a standard action. We will save the roll for Talon's first shot on his turn which now comes just before the rats.

Oh, my mistake! lol

Things were getting a little jumbled in my head, do I need to roll again?

Although Talon was standing up before he was struck again so he'd still get a full round action correct? Or am I mistaken... I'll double check the posts I was under the assumption he was standing again or else those ranged attacks would have missed. Blargh this is what happens when you are in more then one PBP, things get jumbled! >.<;

Edit-1!: It shows he was up and about then took the hits that dropped him to 0 hp but since he wasnt reduced to negatives he would have been still standing then. Hence why he attacked twice but didn't move. As I remembered the Rapid Shot was a FAA not an SA. Hmmm, I will follow your lead boss man. What you says goes regardless of what I think lol. :)

BTW Good Luck SUNY! Dont get eaten, Or else the Sinker (Heavily armored guy who tried to swim) will have a hard time laying on hands for you. :(

HP 40/45, AC 21*, Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +8, ArcRes 2/8 Active Effects: Heightened Senses, Defending Bone (45), Extended Shield, Unseen Servant,

Nice to meet you :)

Although quick question how did you get such high stats?

Man I hate point buy sometimes, the math screws with me and sadly its so bloody simple. Anyways. Your stats are fine but my math comes up with a 14 14 14 14 8 7 and you've spent only 14 points prior to add racial points.

after Racials its 16 16 12 14 8 7

Some double check me. But it looks like you have 1 point left so you can put your 8 back to 9 xD.

Sorry Still trying to make sure my character is correct, I ALWAYS find a mistake later on and I hate that soooooo much.

Which i did make a mistake, over bought by one point... lol. Fantastic.

I will drop Wil's Int to bring him in line. No real loss. it was an 11~

sorry about that Chainmail~

HP 40/45, AC 21*, Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +8, ArcRes 2/8 Active Effects: Heightened Senses, Defending Bone (45), Extended Shield, Unseen Servant,

You are correct. Thanks. Wisdom just raised to 9.

No problem, like I said point buy kills me. -.-; Not trying to be an ass lol, its gonna be nice to have another heavily armored guy. :) If only you had a shield :o. you'd get another +1-2 AC :)

Edit: I use Herolab so it stacks everything up for you, although I had to add the Luck of the Lady feat they give in this Pbp, but for the most part its really nice for building a character quickly.

HP 40/45, AC 21*, Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +8, ArcRes 2/8 Active Effects: Heightened Senses, Defending Bone (45), Extended Shield, Unseen Servant,

I do have a shield. I just don't use it as often as I use the Curve Blade.
