The beetle rushes the group as you walk into the room and it belches acid on Tarvinda and Etna. They both take 1 point of acid damage. Now the round begins. Tarvinda you walk up and wack it with your longsword but your sword doesn't penetrate its thick hide. Etna will draw her Wakizashi as she moves up to flank with Tarvinda but her attack misses. Neculai you begin singing. Xeros you let an arrow lose but it skips off the beetles shell. The beetle tries to bite at Tarvinda but it misses.

Round 2 wrap up
Tarvinda you wack it with your longsword and you strike true, your sword cutting into the creature and green blood starts oozing out of the cut. Etna will draw her Wakizashi down on the creature and also strikes true. Neculai you continue singing and move up to the creature and try to strike it but your weapon bounces off the creatures shell. Xeros you let an arrow lose but it again skips off the beetles shell. The beetle tries to bite at Tarvinda and it is able to pinch at her leg with its front mandibles doing 11 points of damage.

Tarvinda strikes the creature one final time, cutting it clean in two with her longsword.
As you look around the room you see another body sprawled out in the center of the room and in the corner there is a large pile of trash and filth. It looks as if the beetle was trying to build a nest here. There is a door in the southern part of the chamber. If you check it for traps it isn't trapped or locked.
Entering the room to the south you see that the remains of a small fire smolder in the center of this broad chamber, letting off a plume of oily smoke. Fed by a heap of burning gear, debris, and more than a few bones the fire casts a flickering light across the walls of this room. Your eyes immediately start to burn from the amount of smoke that was trapped in this room(take a -2 on perception checks and attack rolls if necessary).
Does anyone enter the room?

Tarvinda, after the fight with the beetle, sits on the floor recovering, blood congealing on her extensive wounds. "That was nasty that thing, can I just sit a moment to recover a bit. I'm really exhausted, don't do anything too much, I'll get up and help in a minute, I need to patch myself up a bit, well a lot really. Do we have a potion or something that might aid the healing process?" as she draws a deep breath.

Tarvinda takes out a potion and drinks it, feeling its warmth serge through her beaten body. Feeling a little refreshed, she heads towards the noise, using her ability to find evil as she moves forward. "Xeros, what's happened, where's Pia?"

Xeros you let your arrow fly and it strikes the spirit in the ribs and it lets out a mournful cry but still seems to be clinging to undeath.
Etna as you cross back over the spirit doesn't follow and seems to loose interest as it floats away back towards the fire. It takes a few seconds but eventually your eyes clear as well.

Very sorry. I've been out the last few days and haven't had much time to post.
Neculai starts, pulling himself from a rather pleasant daydream, and begins singing of the might and accuracy if the party.

Tarvinda joins Pia, "Whatever it was, it was an evil presence. I've heard tell that those steeped in the knowledge of religion are best placed to know the behavior and nature of the undead. Surely that was one such creature?" She looks around the room for clues as to what caused the creature to appear.

Xeros knocks back another arrow in his bow and watches on as Enta moves into the room and covers her from the doorway. As he watches for another enemy he ponders what that last creature was.

Neculai you're pretty sure that creature was a Shadow. There are two ways Shadows manifest, either the living creature has to die a horrifying death and be so traumatized that it can't rest peacefully afterwords or if you have all your strength sapped by a Shadows touch you also can manifest as a shadow.
There are no other signs of anymore undead in the room but it is still thick with smoke so its hard to see anything else.

Neculai comes back to his senses. That thing was a shadow. Don't let it touch you; it'll sap your strength. That's one way of becoming a shadow, in fact. The other way is dying traumatically. So either there's another shadow around, or something incredibly frightening.
Xeros looks around, "Lovely." Coughing at the smoke as well the Tieling focuses on the fire and whispers a prayer. As 2 galleons of water drop on the fire, "I hope this doesn't hurt us....Oh drunken merc watch out for me."

Tarvinda will wait until the smoke has gone, before entering the room, so that's 10 minutes.
From outside the room, Tarvinda calls in, "If there's no further chambers or entrances in the room, maybe it'll be best to leave until we can see what else is in there."

After the room clears of smoke the tiefling moves in cautionously and motions the group to gather around him, "Come close we'll check if there's another shadow in here and you all will get a little healing hehe." When the group gathers he'll prays while clutching his holy symbol and a wave of positive energy sweeps through the room.

Just so you know Xeros you have to decide wither your healing people or harming undead. If your healing then you won't be able to determine if there is another shadow in the room.
The smoke eventually clears from the room and you all gather around and get healed for a point of health. Perception checks to search the room please.
