You all head down the stairs and find that they are not trapped. At the bottom of the stairs is a circular chamber with three passageways leading from it. In the center is a small stone pedestal. The sound of dripping water can be heard coming from the eastern passageway, while the stench of rot emanates from the west.
The floor in this room bears an inscription spiraling out from the pillar. It reads: "To the south you might take your ease, to rest and reflect on Kassen's deeds. To the east lies a wheel, to open the gate. To the west is the resting place of Kassen, hero of the Fangwood."
Etna you guys just left room 12 and will be going into room 13. You labled the map as the map of room 12.

Room 13 for when we go down the stairs

Tarvinda Darvelle |

Entering the round chamber, Tarvinda holds her torch in one hand, her weapon ready in the other. She stops as she enters the lower room, listening and smelling the air for any threats. As she looks about, she quietly says, "Iomedae, search for the evil within."

Tarvinda snatches a quick glance at Etna, a look of some astonishment on her face, "How can you be so sure, when we haven't had a good look round as yet?" Tarvinda takes her torch and searches around the room first, before she goes over and looks in the water.

"Well if Kassen says this water is safe and restorative, I guess we can believe it? I suppose this isn't like holy water is it, Arpad?"

Tarvinda Darvelle |

"So towards the smell of rot and decay and the tomb of Kassan, or the dripping water and the gate? The question is, what is the gate too, maybe the everflame lies that way, I don't know? Maybe with Kassen, whose tomb I wish to pay homage to before we leave. Arpad, does your god give you guidance on the way to go, or shall we just take a pick. I would vote west. towards Kassen, for surely he has the flame." Says Tarvinda as see weighs up the options out loud.

Tarvinda Darvelle |

Tarvinda, watches as her friends seem to revive themselves after drinking the water, "Are you really feeling better?" she asks, as the deep cuts knit together and dark bruises lighten and disappear. Yet she is impatient to retrieve the flame, "So WEST or east?"

Xeros |

"Agreed Miss Etna, it certainly is. You might want to use some for your tonics Arpad, it might give them a boost." With that Xeros fills his waterskin with the refreshing water and puts it away.
"I say we go west, isn't his resting place the location of the everflame or did I mis hear the story."

Tarvinda Darvelle |

"Then west it is." says Tarvinda as she fills her water bottle with the pure refreshing water from the fountain. "Eta, Xeros, would one of you like to lead the way, you are more attuned to the dangers of this place than I?"

DM Mathpro |
You guys head back to the circular room(Room 13) and head west(room 18 for Etna). The corridor opens up into a winding catacomb. The walls are skillfully carved with deep recesses where bodies might have once lain. All that remains now are cobwebs, dust, and the tattered remains of ancient clothing. The stench of rotting flesh is overpowering here, but the source is not evident. Just as the last of you enter the room the source of the stench is found as four zombies hobble from the shadows towards the party. "Bbbrrrraaaaiiiinnnsss" the chant as they move forward.

Round 1 wrap up.
Tarvinda you swing at the approaching zombie once it gets into range of your sword and open a large gash across the creatures chest. The horrid smell of rotting diseased flesh comes pouring out of the wound and you're pretty sure these aren't normal zombies. Etna you wait until a Zombie hobbles over to you and strike out with your blade. You connect, opening up a wound on the creatures arm. Xeros you swing out with your hand axe but you miss. Tarvinda, Etna, and Xeros are getting attacked in return. The Zombies try to slam into each of you but all three miss. Arpad you will move toward the zombie thats approaching you and will swing your morningstar at it, connecting firmly with its head. It still stumbles forward and tries to slam into you but misses.

Xeros you finish off the zombie that was in front of you. The Zombie explodes in a burst of rotting and infected flesh. The Zombie in front of Tarvinda tries to slam into her. He connects with a mighty blow doing 8 points of damage. The Zombie that Etna attacked last round moves up to her again. Tarvinda pulls herself together, wondering why the smell should affect her so, it was unlike her to pull away like that. With renewed focus she brings her sword down, thrusting towards the undead creature.
