The wolf runs looks back at Xeros and cries a little as he comes out of his agressive stance. He looks around at everyone in the camp. Its at this time that you notice that this wolf looks rather...undersized for what you would expect to find in the great Fangwood forest. Xeros with your check you're able to guess he hasn't eaten in quite a few days. He turns to leave camp slowly.
Anyone going to step up and try to feed him or are you going to let him leave?
Tarvinda Darvelle
Tarvinda smiles at Andwell, "No, this wolf is weak, we should be safe. Looks like Pia is making friends." She watches and relaxes her muscles, though she continues to hold her weapon just in case, she knows how quickly wild animals can turn.
Tarvinda Darvelle
Tarvinda returns, putting her arm Andwell, she jokingly retorts, "No wonder Andwell, I thought I heard your stomach rumbling deep in the forest there. You really need to catch up on your meals...ha ha ha ... then you might be quiet once again .. ha ha ha!"

As wolf heads off into the woods Tarvinda you are able to see two more wolves off in the distance but they quickly follow the one that is running from camp and run off into the woods. As you gather around the fire for the night it starts to get rather cold and you are reminded of the upcoming winter. A light drizzle starts to fall and you quickly become chilled despite the fire, which is able to stay lit. Your snack consists of rations(unless anyone has actual food) and after about an hour you decide it best to try to get some sleep, though this cold wet weather doesn't really lend its self to that.
The next morning you guys awake to find a sun in the sky but it seems to be doing little to warm the chill in the air and there is a thin layer of frost on the ground.
Xeros
Xeros stares into the forest as he eats wondering if anymore critters are about, but gets pulled out of his daze as he hears the new comer talking about how neither of them are feeling the cold this morning. He begins to stare at her, without caring if anyone sees him. He wonders...
Is she like me, but her beauty sticks out like assmair's would. Though there is something common between the two of us that I can't quite put my finger on. I wonder if she's like fealix or like me? May the drunken lord's dice land in my favor this day.
Hearing the chittering of the halfling's teeth the tiefling gives the little one a smile as he pulls out his wineskin, "The drunken merc always says wine with breakfast helps dull the morning winds from pentrating your armor. Would you care to dull this wind?" Xeros says as he holds up the wineskin in the air and then takes a drink.
Xeros
"My lady the trick of wine for breakfast is portion control, just take enough to warm up and save the rest for a celebration such as enjoying a good breakfast with your friends and allies." He takes a swig of wine and gives the women a knowing wink. Then give off a chuckle.
Neculai Dumitru
"Don't worry, it's just a little wine. A little wine never hurt nobody."
After eating his rations for the morning, Neculai offers forth a prayer to Iomedae, as the goddess of Valor and Honor. "You should know this one, Tarvinda."
"I do not pray for peace,
Nor ask that on my path
The sounds of war shall shrill no more,
The way be clear of wrath.
But this I beg thee, Lord,
Steel Thou my heart with might,
And in the strife that men call life,
Grant me the strength to fight."
Once his prayer is completed, and after a short pause, he speaks again. "So, what's on the agenda today?"
Tarvinda Darvelle
Tarvinda wakes, the cold making her shake as a wave of cold shimmies up her back. She looks at her armor, lying by her side, cold to the touch. "I'll take some Master Xeros, if you would be so kind." She adds water to her wine and heats it with a few herbs over the fire before drinking it. "Thanks you, it'll help, for when I have to put that on again. "
She listens to to Neculai as he sings his prayer, nodding as she recognizes it as from "Knight Grathnell's Orders for the Day in Iomedae's sight.", a common tome amongst the clerics of her god.
After the warming drink, she bows her head, "For justice and honor. As the sun brightens the day, My Lady, your example strengthens my resolve and hand to follow your example, as you laid out in 'The Acts'. This day will be glorious in your honor. Bless us all." After her loud prayer, she holds her head and is quiet for some time, in meditation on her god. You see she finishes when she looks up and starts to get ready for the day, putting on her armor and shield.
"Well, are you ready to go onwards? we have obligations to meet."

@Etna, Tarvinda doesn't see why the party should take you along, I think you'll have more success with getting the men to invite you. No special magnetism between her and you I'm afraid.. I think a girly friendship can develop later, as you get to know one another. Least that's the way I see it, so fellas you falling under her spell so to speak!!!

Now that everyone is together the story can continue.
The day is still cold and it never seems to warm. There are thick clouds in the sky that only come into sight when the thick barren tree branches of the fangwood allow them to. You travel south through the forest and after about 3 hours of walking in the damp cool weather the trees begin to thin. A field of short, green grass starts to come into view and as you get closer you see the waters of a calm lake reflecting the overcast sky above. A dense fog hangs over the center of the lake, obscuring the far side. Near the shore of the lake, a dark form lies next to the water.

that leads to the shores of a wide, calm lake reflecting the

form lies next to the water.
Those who want can make me Perception, Heal, or Knowledge local checks(see below for results).
Much of the bandit’s gear has rotted to worthlessness. But a masterwork short sword can be found near the body as well as a coin pouch with 87 gold inside. You also notice that the clothing this man is wearing couldn't have come from Kassen. While rotted slightly by exposure it looks to be far to nice to have been made in a small town.
If you notice the coins(see the perception check) or someone points them out to you, you'll notice the coins look newly minted. The face of Forest Marshal Gavirk is pressed into the coins. It is your best guess that these coins were minted in the capital city of Tamran and didn't come from Kassen its self.
You determine that this man has been dead for a few months and that the cause of his demise were several bites from very large venomous serpent type creature. Even though the attack was a few months ago, venom still lingers in what little meat is left on the bones.

Put out a little by the addition of this unplanned member of the official party, Tarvinda shrugs her shoulders saying with no enthusiasm, "Seems Pia you are coming along, just don't get in the way of our duty." She ignores the woman, as they get ready and start off once more.

Tarvinda kneels down by the body, if only she could just remember, what was it? Just to jog my memory, I bet I'll remember it later, oh what was it...he mind wheels in turmoil as she tries to recall the relevant fact which would clarify and crystallize her thoughts. "I can't quite work it out ... ummm!"
Heal (untrained) 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 if anyone those left can aid another on this, we'll hit the mark...

"This poor figure was killed by some kind of venomous serpent." He takes out his dagger and points out the venom still dripping out of bandits meat. "See it's still there, even though this figure has been dead for a couple of months." He takes out his flask and sprinkles some ale on the the body. "At least you found your fortune before you died, beware my friends the ceature could still be around." Xeros looks around for a trail of the serpent tracks.
Perception:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Xeros puts away his dagger, and looks at the trail. As he starts to follow it he looks back at the group, " I found a trail, probably leads back to his camp. Any one else want to follow?" He says as he starts moving down the trail.
