Dismissing the haunt or whatever didn't remove the effect? A really nasty effect in that case. I guess we have to wait until Mara levels up enough to get Remove Curse or we find a scroll. Maybe a rest in the chapel will help, or Lesser Restoration could do it. But let's move on through the next double doors.

Adventure is not nice to PCs. One of the first things they go over is what to do when a PC inevitability dies. You could have fought whateverdebiswas which could affect casters and lock away half of their abilities unless they were built in a not common way.

Italian Festival this weekend, so I may not be able to post.
I work at an Italian food market; as a chef, so we will be working 15+ hours both days.

Gonna say that barkskin will be gone after next fight. Its prolly been more than half an hour now but I'd like the spell to not be a complete waste.

I will say the apparent way forward is the west door.

Looks like Julius is MIA again, and not just from this game. Maybe his summer job is very busy? Assuming the PC is still with us for now, but if not then Dervak says "two of them".

I was wondering myself. I had sent him a PM earlier this week but haven't heard anything yet. I know RL gets in the way so I'm not going to worry about it too much right now. I'll bot him in combat if I need to. It wouldn't make a lot of narrative sense to introduce a new PC at this point, though it is possible. If we don't hear from him by the time you confront Zandalus I know exactly what to do with the character.

Running IRL game today. Won't be able to respond til later tonight or tomorrow morning. A lot will happen once the party steps into the hall.

I drew a box on the map to show where the difficult terrain is. I've assumed that it's the spaces in front of the ghouls.

@GM_Delmoth: Please alter the difficult terrain box as necessary if my assumption is off. Also note that Mara's action assumed that the square that Mara stepped into was clear; she couldn't make the 5 ft step otherwise.

Thank you! I fixed the area that is difficult, just two more squares added.

This hex lasts for a number of rounds equal to 3 + the witch's Intelligence modifier. A Will save reduces this to just 1 round. This is a mind-affecting effect. At 8th level the penalty increases to –4.

Mara is planning to teleport Julius away using her Heaven's leap hex, just as a ghoul is about to strike, hopefully wasting its attack. He wouldn't last too long taking 9 attacks per round!

It's probably a good idea to try to force them to move forward into the difficult terrain to reach us. They wouldn't be able to make a full attack, and Dervak would get an AoO.

@DM_Delmoth: Does Mara know if Winter has the means to cure Ghoul Fever? Does she think there's a possibility of the man recovering, or is he too far gone?

Wrath Maps Wrath Loot PS Loot PS Maps

Mara has no evidence that Winter can cast 3rd level spells so remove disease would be out unless Winter was holding back. She can cast 2nd level spells so lesser restoration could heal his con damage and she could make heal checks to assist with the saves. He would likely recover eventually assuming Winter has the spell slots available to cast daily and the man is not extremely unlucky.

That may be more ranged attacks than the ghouls have; any ranged weapon helps.

Edit: I don't think going down to the lower level and engaging a ghast and 6 ghouls in melee is a good idea.

They are stairs but it's not too steep to be difficult terrain. I don't think withdrawal cares about difficult terrain but its a moot point.

Mara used two move actions: one to put away her Greataxe, and one to take out her crossbow. She doesn't have enough actions to load the crossbow, unless she wants to just drop both the axe and the wand. Mind you, she'll probably drop the wand next round.

I guess I always assumed that you could draw a weapon as part of a move action. But I see now that RAW it says regular move. There is some debate about what regular means in this case, but none of them apply in this instance. I'm inclined to house rule it my way only because I'm going to forget how it actually works.

As a side note I usually litter the battlefield with discarded weapons.

Why do I not see "new post" notifications for the Discussion thread?
Sorry to have missed so much.

Dervak is happy to skewer the oneirogen with the longspear, or wait for Unseen Servants to draw it outside. My guess is that we do need to kill it - the organs missing seems a strong suggestion of "This guy can't be saved, so be merciful."

If Rowan doesn't want to use Red Destiny, Dervak will take it and the magic shield. He can go sword-and-board - would put less strain on our healers. Dervak does take a lot of damage. Or maybe our new player would like it.

Im not sure. I know when I was starting to take over. That a couple of people were not getting notifications since they hadn't posted in a while. I've also had a hell of a time recently submitting things on mobile so might be related.
