Ryor moves quietly to K4 and fires an arrow at the monster.

Stealth, Longbow, Damage: (1d20 9=27, 1d20 5=24, 1d8=1)

As he fades into the shadow you hear the rasp and snap of the longbow followed quickly by a soft thunk and sudden scraping noise from the scorpion's direction.

Everyone hears Ryor call out of the shadow: "Umm, guys? There's a swarm building up back there."

>>>>>MAP<<<<<

His eyes locked on the big monster, "Don't worry you can handle that, Ryor!" Then as an afterthought, "A swarm of what?!"

You hear Ryor laughing.

Ryor: "Might be kittens."

"Very funny!"

Jon charges at the monster with his greatsword.
attack,damage (1d20+7+2=19, 2d6+6=11)

Jon has balls.

His INIT is higher so Wetsands is going to take a ranged shot before Jon's charge.

After Cordoba cries out the warning, Wetsands hustles forward to N11 and looses an arrow.

Shortbow, Damage: (1d20 5=18, 1d6=1)

His arrow drives into the creature's chitin.

>>>>>MID-ROUND MAP<<<<<

Pulsifer and Cordoba have actions this turn.

Aref, Syd, and Bohdan, who I assume are somewhere on the stairs, can start whenever they post: this round, the next, whatever...

Male Human Sorceror 3 EXP-3450

Aref moves to the bottom of the stairs and says in a firm voice Liviok! and a bird of force streaks out and hits the giant scorpion.
1d4 1=3magic missile damage.
Moved to M10, fire magic missile at large scorpion.
I am back from 'vacation' and will be posting as usual again.
Also if we rested, Aref would be wearing the magical leather armor we found.

Yes, you've had one night's rest. The armor's ASF is 0.

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"What the bloody 'ell? Flip, 's the daddy!" Syd says "'Old up, old son, I'll give yer 'an 'and!"

With that he runs to the aid of Jon.

Double move to H14

Syd wrote:

Ryor: "I'm thinkin' mommy."

>>>>>MID-ROUND MAP 2<<<<<

The lower tier is 5 feet below the upper tier.

Is Cordoba still delaying until after the Scorpion?

Pulsifer, Bohdan, up.

Male Human Sorceror 3 EXP-3450

Just like regular leather in other respects? AC, max dex, weight, etc. Do I just remind you that my AC may or may not be what is listed?

Peek under the light leather spoiler here. You can use the added powers of the armor when you've identified. Until then, stuff you pick up may randomly disappear and then reappear later.

Hearing the sudden commotion and shouting from down the bowels of the crypt, Bohdan hurries down the stairs from the surgery tightening the strap on his shield and drawing the newfound magical sword.

Stayed back when some of the others started exploring and I'll use this round to reach the combat zone

M Human Wizard 3

Rackham stares intently at the monstrous scorpion. Twin jets of red light stream from the white-haired man's eyes, bathing the arachnid in crimson flame.

Uses Energy Ray (fire) FX ability; 1d6 + 1 = 6 damage.

Pulsifer, Bohdan, up.

Yes, I wanna flank that thing for the sneak attack.

A swarm of hand sized scorpions, which is building before your very eyes, begins moving toward the center of the room. They begin spilling over the five foot ledge into the lower level.

The giant scorpion, cornered by Jon, fights fiercely. Both claws dig into him and the sound of rent armor and cracking bones echoes across the room. The stinger finds flesh above the breastplate of his armor. Jon’s neck and back burn with pain as the venom enters his blood. Jon takes 19 points of damage. Jon tries to pull free of the claws but is unable… he is held tight by the monstrosity.

Jon DC 14 FORTITUDE SAVE, if you fail look here:

Spoiler:
Lose 1d6 points of dexterity.

ATTACK - Claw, claw, sting: (1d20 6=25, 1d20 6=22, 1d20 1=18)

DAMAGE - Claw, claw, sting: (1d6 4=5, 1d6 4=10, 1d6 2=4)

GRAPPLE - (1d20 11=26)

Jon’s Grapple status:

Spoiler:
A successful DC +10 grapple: If your attack exceeds the DC by 10 or more, your target (that's you Jon) cannot move at all without first breaking the grapple, and can only take actions that do not require free hands to perform, such as casting a still spell, making an unarmed attack with a knee, or activating a held or worn magic item. The target cannot cast spells or use spell-like abilities without succeeding on a Spellcraft check (and then, only if the spell does not have any somatic components).

The Deceiver wrote:

Go for it.

Double move to K14, instead. Sneak attack next round. Can't see a clear path to a flanking position at the moment.

Round 2

Cordoba's initiative is adjusted because of his delay in round 1.

Jon is grappled and can only try to break the grapple. See combat rules PFRPG page 41-42. Breaking the grapple is DC 21.

INIT RANK:

20 Ryor Saar'Narlok: Init +4 (DEX 18)
19 Aref Sami Sharokh: Init +3 (DEX 16)
19 Wetsands: Init +3 (DEX 16)
18 Sydley Hentooth: Init +2 (DEX 14)
17 Rackham Pulsifer: Init +1 (DEX 13)
17 Jon Qiang: Init +1 (DEX 12)
16 Bohdan: Init +0 (DEX 10)
10 Giant Scorpion
9 The Deceiver: Init +7 (DEX 16)

Ryor double moves to D12, dropping his bow and drawing his sword on the run.

The scorpion is now flanked.

Wetsands double moves to G12 to engage both the swarm and the scorpion.

Wetsands is flanked.

>>>>>MAP<<<<<

Fighting on or moving through squares that contain urns is considered difficult terrain (x2 movement: 1 square counts as 2, a diagonal counts as 3).

If Syd can move to G15, then the Deceiver can move straight in to G14.

Well, I guess you need to shout out at him to leave you some space (to move and attack in one round).

Or I can simply tumble onto the scorpion and have at it. That would be a nice use of an action point. Pure and utter recklessness.

The Deceiver wrote:

Next level very soon.

Fortitute (1d20+6=13)
Jon loses dex
1d6=2

Jon Qiang wrote:

Jon loses dex

Jon feels the poison burn through his veins. He begins to lose feeling in his fingers and toes and the room around him becomes blurry.

Also roll your CMB + 1d20 and try and get 21 or higher. This will allow you to escape on your initiative count.

Jon, your CMB (Combat Maneuver Bonus) is +10

Jon tries to break the grapple.
1d20+10=19
The monster holds Jon too tight to break loose.

Male Human Sorceror 3 EXP-3450

Comen Hali Higot!
A large hog-like creature appears behind the giant scorpion, trying to dig into it's carapace with its large tusks. Aref then moves to his right to get a better position on the fight.

M Human Wizard 3

Once again, posting out of order.

Rackham moves calmly to the other side of the room, placing himself within range of both the giant scorpion and the swarm of smaller ones.

Keeping one eye on Ryor, he flings his hand out at the swarm of arachnids. A sheet of crimson flame sweeps out over the tiny scorpions, their chitinous bodies popping from the heat.

Moves to H7; casts Burning Hands; damage: 2d4 = 7.

<Sniff, sniff.>

"Lunchtime, tasties!"

Awaiting Syd, Bohdan, scorpions, then Cordoba.

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

Syd leaps into the fight against the giant scorpion, "Hold on Jon, ol' mate!"

Move to G15Falchion strike of doom! (1d20+6=14, 2d4+6=10)

>>>>>MID-ROUND MAP<<<<<

Moving across the urns, or moving from the lower level to the upper level is considered difficult terrain.

Male Human Sorceror 3 EXP-3450

No piggy? Here's a picture!

I totally forgot. I'll make a silhouette cuz with the camo he'll just look like a brown square.

EDIT: Piggy is added above.

M Human Wizard 3

A friend of mine went hunting for javelinas (read: peccaries) in New Mexico, and shot a couple. He said that not only was the meat absolutely foul, but the nasty little buggers have a gland behind their head that produces a nasty-smelling yellow goo. I bet celestial javelinas have a gland that produces, like, ice cream or something...

ROFL

A quick look around the chamber shows Bohdan that the brave warrior Jon is in dire trouble. Trying to ignore the weight of his armor Bohdan jogs across the room, hoping that he can get to the fray in time to help.
"Hold on men, help is on the way!"

run x3 across the room to H13, setting up for a Cure Light Wounds next round on Jon (Spontaneous conversion of Endure Elements)

As arcane lights throw shadows dancing across the walls, the celestial peccary rends at the scorpion’s tail with its tusks, squealing excitedly - Syd’s Falchion lops one of the monster’s legs and it staggers (Forgetting flank?). Bohdan, armor clattering, charges to Jon’s aid, hoping to keep him alive while the others try to end the fight.

The swarm, with Wetsands slashing at them as they pass [AoO: (1d20 4=24, 1d6=1)], scrambles toward Pulsifer, backing him up against the 5 foot ledge. Pulsifer is now engaged in melee.

The large scorpion swings Jon high, driving its stinger toward him again but only meets the steel of Jon's Tian-forged plate. [Maintain grapple; sting: (1d20 16=21, 1d20 1=8)] As the claws constrict and slowly crush him his collapsing armor creaks. [Jon takes 6 more hits] Again the sound of cracking ribs, audible even over the grunts of straining warriors and the chittering of scorpions across the stone. Jon's vision becomes blurry and reddened as blood is squeezed into his brain by the pressure.

>>>>>MID-ROUND MAP<<<<<

The Deceiver moves to G14.

Your fate is sealed.

The Deceiver moves to flank the large scorpion. He stabs for soft flesh between the chitin plates. "Die!"

Atk; Dmg; Snk Atk Dmg (1d20+5=21, 1d6+1=2, 1d6=6)

"Quickly, get Jon to safety!"

Cordoba's blade breaks through the beast's shell - it chatters at him and slips off the urn it stood upon.
