Ryor lays into it with his longsword driving the blade into its back between its chitinous plates almost up to the hilt.
Longsword, damage, sneak attack: (1d20 3=17, 1d8 2=9, 1d6=6)
Wetsand's axe also cuts in, weakening another of the 8 legs.
Jon Qiang
crashing on the ground,Jon takes a deep breath after the long time hold by the monster.
as soon as Jon lays himself on the ground,he draws his great greatsword at the rebarbative monster.
"You bastard"
attack,damage (1d20+6+2=21, 2d6+6=14)
After that,Jon turns to Syd," Thank you buddy"

It's out of initiative but I'm gonna let it stand because the thing is already dead, and Ian said rebarbative, which is a really cool word.
Bringing his sword down on the creature's head, Jon cleaves it in twain - it stops its twitching in a spray of vital fluids that coats everyone nearby.
So.... it's not unconscious anymore...
Aref Sami Shahrokh
Aref says some words in celestial to the Peccary and the beast lumbers over to help with the swarm (double move to I10).
Aref moves to get a better angle on the swarm and grabs a tanglefoot bag from one of his pouches, preparing to throw it at the swarm. (move to M10, retrieve object, this will give Mr. DM a chance to decide what happens when tanglefoot bag and swarm mix)
Rackham Pulsifer
"May the Goddess' lighning purge all evil from this world!"
Rackham plants his staff into the middle of the swarm crushing a few of the smaller scorpions. Chanting softly, the old man's eyes roll back into their sockets. Blue and crimson lightning boils out of Rackham's skin, rolling down his arms, down the copper staff, and into the swarm of arachnids. The creatures' exoskeletons crack and burst from the pressure of their own organs turning to superheated gas.
Attack: 18 + 1 = 19; casts shocking grasp; total damage: 3d6 = 15

The scorpions go off like a string of firecrackers and pieces of scorpion chitin arc away from the swarm, crackling with blue fire.
As the smoke clears all that's left is Pulifer calmly brushing himself off and a pile of bugs bulging like puffed wheat. The smell of ozone and roasted scorpion fills the air.
Jon, grumbling, fumbles with the straps on his armor as he rather feebly tries to remove a few plates and bang them out. He almost pokes his eye out with his finger while taking his helmet off.
Aref's tanglefoot bag spontaneously disappears - he knows not where it went.

After a quick search of the crypt that finds nothing more that tiny pieces of death, probably crumbs from the carrion dragged down here by the male scorpions, (let me know if you want more than that) everyone starts back up the stairs, with Jon clattering and tripping on his own feet now and then. At the head of the stairs you see that the three Bhuka have been pulling sand out of the secret passage and have the secret door operable again. They have dug themselves about half way out.
Sandwhisper, who is soaking wet and naked as the day he was born, leads you back out to the main chamber – it looks like he’s been bathing in the south pool. He gestures at some small black wet sacks laying next to the pool. “Kala kalapanza,” he says.
Then he waves his hand at the statue of Aroden. The top of the statue was barely visible last night even with the lens pulling in light from across the sky, but now the whole chamber is well lit by daylight filtering down from the whole, and an even brighter but still mellow glow from the lens. More interesting is the tip of Aroden’s spear - dazzlingly bright - enough by itself to light the main chamber.

Jon Qiang wrote:"Thank you£¬Cordoba."In case you want to know, Ian, when I change from Chinese to Western Unicode display you comma looks... odd. You are using Chinese commas. This is what the guys were talking about earlier."
all right. i changed it.
btw, if i type chinese, you guys see the chinese or distortion

The wind above hums deeply and richly across the gash in the top of the main chamber. The small bag of gems, the sacks of coins dry in the morning air.
The smell of Calebra's blood lingers. Without a living host, the tiny white worms seem to have died.
Surely the questions of what happened here, and how it was forgotten nip at your imagination?
Aref:

I have heard many legends, conflicting legends. They make all manner of claims about this temple, abandoned after the death of Aroden, but all of them agree that here can be found a gem known as the eye of Aroden. A library was also said to be kept here, and of particular interest are suggestions that it includes a very dangerous collection of books on demonology. I have been drawn here by these legends. Some say that Aroden himself is still present in dese halls, but that his power is broken. Waiting to be restored.

Pulsifer and Bohdan, hearing Aref's last comment simultaneously put two curiosities together. Everyone sees them look fixedly at each other as Aref's concludes his explanation.
"The Lady once served Aroden, and so shall I, if need be."
