M Human Wizard 3

Sorry, I've been gone for the past couple of days.

Rackham lowers his hands at the mention of parlay. Though he rankles at the thought of compromising with these brigands, he's no fool, and in his weakened physical and mental state, as well as the fact that the only tactic left in his arsenal would destroy the ship, he realizes that there are no other options. Still, the look in his eyes would be enough to kill a small dog.

Rackham mutters sidelong to the elf.

"I am just as unhappy about this as you are, but you must learn patience. Justice will be brought to those deserving."

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"You're crazy, elf." Syd says in a steely manner, "Killin' 'em ain't gonna bring yer mates back, and is just gonna leave yer empty and dead inside. I seen it, mate. Don't fretten me, I don't want to 'urt no-one."

He looks at the whole group, "You reckon all of us can steer this tub the way we are, the old feller, the gnome? You reckon? You're as crazy as them if you fink blood's gonna do anymore than get more blood."

"Blah-enuff of this here talk I's know what I's gotta do. Where's our clothes and weapons?"

Ryor turns to Syd and says
"There will be blood."

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"'ow the bleedin' eck do we know?" says Syd offhand, "Now pipe down before ya do sumfin that'll get us all killed."

M Human Wizard 3

"Life is eternal. A life is ephemeral."

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"Yer a lot o' fancy talkers, but wotever way ya wrap it up, killin's killin' and it ain't fun and it ain't a good way to be."

"I don't know about you but I's a feel great today!"

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"Keep yer 'air on." Syd mutters to himself.

"We are as leaves upon the wind."

I'm sending a mental alert to my familiar, asking him to watch the hatch and alert me if there's lots of activity around it (such as pirates swarming towards it).

Your familiar is comfy and dry sitting in Book's cabin with some crew. They're arguing.

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

Syd raises his eyebrows, "Loohs. Buncha loons. First fing ashore. Get shy a you lot."

What about the other prisoners? Selfish bastards.

;)

A voice from the hold speaks up:

"What about us?"

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"Don't worry love, I'll make sure we sort sumfin' out for all of yous. Try ta get ya back home would be best. We'll sort it out. If we go free, you do too. If Book tries to harm any o 'ya, he'll get my fist."

Rackham ponders the situation. Prostitution is immoral. Pirates are immoral. Prostitutes captured by pirates...? Does the immorality cancel itself out?

It's hard out there for an ex-paladin.

Ryor heads to the women's cell and frees them. Take 20+9=29.

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"Good lad."

"Evryone search around sees whats ya can find down'ere worth findin"

What the hell is down here?

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"Make sure all the girls and lads 'ave got a weapon. Good idea, Bal- Ryor. We gotta make the best a' wot we got."

"Right, we don't have to kill all of them, just the leaders. If we promise the rest of the pirates that we'll let them go their merry way after we reach port, than they might be willing to help us sail this boat."

Booty. The armoury is upstairs in Book's cabin in case you're wondering. Anything in particular you're looking for? He has a lot of valuable stuff, but none of it is weaponry.

First I clean up my murders(Is there a mop bucket). Is there a port hole? we can dump the bodies into the sea? Can I wash up down here fresh water barrels etc ?

Look for the following equipment
Clothing, boots(good quality if possile)
rope
tools of anykind
They don't have hooked poles for like pullin stuff out the water.
Nets
oil
grappling hooks
oars
spyglass
Torches
raw timber for ship repair

Clothing (both clean and blood soaked)
Oil
Coal
Hooked poles
Timber and wood
Rope
A few grappling hooks
Block and tackle
Nets
Tools
Cooking implements in the galley
Food
Spices
Wine
Ore
Bolts of beautiful cloth
and other such...

There is a porthole in the Galley but I wouldn't suggest opening it right now.

If you stack the bodies in the brig the blood will dry in places and be rinsed clean in others, where some water is leaking through down into the bilge.

"Ryor takes a swig of wine, as he proceeds to clean up. "Alrighty mates my tempers down a bit and the sea is showin no mercy, Syd how many ways into the hold? can we lock or barricade the doors if need be?"

can the wood be used as clubs?

There are two openings. The ladder hatch (yellow square) and the cargo hatch (red square on the map).

You can make clubs.

You can barricade both openings formidably with the tools and timber.

I reckon you can build a device which pops the hatches out using the timber, tools, rope, block and tackle.

You also found some rum with which you can make torches. Or you can drink it.

If time permits we set to this task however we barricade the larger opening if possible and use the netting there as well. We also attempt to secure everything as possible. I call upon the ladys to aid us.

We make clubs for the ladys.

The ladies grab some kitchen knives. Katella has a cleaver.

The two young men make some clubs.

The Deceiver reappears fully clothed in an odd ensemble of pirate wear. A rapier and a dagger dangles from a belt. "Ok. What is you wish to do?" He tells the others.

"Well lets go see captain Book, then."

I was just waiting for Bohdan to weigh in beforehand.

"Let's go over first with our inventory of weapons."

"I've got crossbow 3 shots and a dagger."
I go extract the bolts from the dead. And reload if possible.

"Right. I got a rapier and a dagger."

"I've this over-large dagger here."

2 of them are recoverable.

(Edit: 5-3=2... Oh that's all of them.)

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"I gots a cutlass and me fist."

Bohdan, Paizo to Bohdan, calling Bohdan!

M Human Wizard 3

My Goddess is all that I shall ever need.

How long until the drugs wear off?

8 more hours and you stats will start coming back pretty quick.

After petitioning Ryor to remove the last shackle, Bohdan picks up some of the wood as a makeshift club, borrowing a cutlass to chip one of the ends slightly smaller to better get a grip on it. no nasty non-proficiency penalty
"My first priority is to see these people safely ashore, although they might be many miles from home," the large half-orc indicates the other prisoners.
"I know nothing about ships, so I'll trust any decission regarding such matters to those who do."

Geez, one day off to help out some friends and I'm 50 messages behind - this has got to set the record for the fastest paced PbP here on the boards! ;-)

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

"Yer got yer 'ead on straight, mate." Syd says approvingly to the other half-orc, "Yer right, we gotta get this lot safe ashore, mayhap get us all back 'ome. If not, find 'em somewhere to stay. Some temple or da like."

Bohdan wrote:

Fastest after the Saltmarsh game maybe. I needed the breather.

The ladder hatch opens and Book slides down the ladder. He stands there grinning at you all for a moment, balancing himself on the rocking deck with almost no effort.

He looks at Syd: "Parlay, ye say. And I reckons this would be your idea, beautiful."

Looks around. "Thanks for cleanin' up fellas, that's right hospitable of ye."

He smiles and holds his arm out like a parent welcoming a child home. He seems oblivious to the fact that you are all armed to the teeth, now, and probably aching to kill him.

"Now who's gonna open these here negotiatins'"

Male Half-orc Fighter 2

Syd looks Book squarely on, "Well, fought de old place could use a spring clean. You knows how this'll go, Book. Me mates 'ere ain't too fussy 'bout who they stick the knife inta. You need us. Don't pussyfoot arahnd."

M Human Wizard 3

Rackham gives Syd the 'River Tam look'.

"Ye've gotten a little out of hand, fella's. I'd like to say I'd offer ye work, but I fear one o' ye will stick me good, nay I knows it. Now I don't need ye to run the ship but my lads are all too busy to lay into ye at the moment, as ye all knows well."

Long pause. Water drips off his beautifully embroidered wool coat.

"But let me warn ye well, as one man who's shed blood to another, that those boys upstairs can handle ye fellers during an afternoon nap. Thinkin' was that we let Zahn scourge this hold with fire, but then we'd lose a lot of our pretty cargo, and I hates settin' the hold afire."

Brushes his lapel.

"So we've shown ye some quarter in hopes of riddin' ourselves of ye. Do ye think ye'll consider just hopping overboard?"

Smiles. He's missing a few teeth.

M Human Wizard 3

"Perhaps we shall rid ourselves of you."
