Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

Hamzah says, "I see no reason to allow this gnoll to take back to his tribe our numbers or our presence. Gnolls are crafty enemies. It is better they do not know we come. Get from this gnoll the number of our enemies, the name of their chieftans and great warriors, and if they have any priests or arcanists of their own. Then we will know who to kill. I do not wish this gnoll to return and tell where we are. What if they are so many that we cannot even hope to stand against the army that comes against us. I do not wish to give to the gnolls the advantage of striking us first or preparing for our coming."

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

Hamzah watches the bomb kill the gnoll, "Well, that was not a wise decision either. If no else speaks gnoll, someone else had better learn to do so quickly. That was most uncalled for, Gunk. Most uncalled for."
Gunk really showed his hatred of gnolls there. Haha.

Gunk |

Master Hamzah, on the contrary, it was actually most called for. I've suffered through the atrocities caused by these vile creatures. I've been witness to the heinous things they do. This was most called for indeed and it was a great mercy I have shown the spy to kill him quickly. I daresay our employer and the people we are paid to protect would not have shown such mercy. I can also assure you that the gnolls that attacked Kelmarane would have shown no such mercy were it one of us captured in their camp. We would likely have been filleted with a tiny knife over many days to the enjoyment of the women and children folk. Moreover, what I have done has saved Hajar from becoming an even greater pariah among the folk in this caravan. They already treat him with disdain and I daresay if he tried to imprison and reform the gnoll they would have accused him of much worse. I have prevented the inevitable conflict between the caravan and Hajar.
Gunk turns to face Grim and says the following we already know where to go. They have taken up residence in Kelmarane ... the town they sacked and murdered the people living there. Letting the gnoll go offers no benefit but great risk. The only tactical advantage would be to have set an ambush for the gnolls and mislead this scout with misinformation. Though, who knows if that would have worked as he said himself that he is an outcast among his own people.
Hamzah, I merely did what you said to do; get what information from him that I could and then 'deal with him as you would any captured scout'. LOL

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

"It was very disrespectful towards Hajar, Gunk. Very disrespectful. I wish to see no more of this disagreeable behavior."
"I understand your action. I forgive it. It is not the way of Sarenrae to force our ways on others. Our task is to retake this village. I wish us all to focus on our task. If in the future we wish to redeem any that ask for mercy, we will arrange the means to do so."
"Hajar, we will find a suitable prison to hold those we will attempt to redeem. Some of those that travel with us have no wish to take part in the redemption of evil. You cannot force them to do so. If you wish them to respect your wishes, show them you are prepared to take charge of these prisoners and willing to do what is needed to redeem them."
Hamzah is trying to push Hajar in a sensible direction. I understand the redemption part. It is part of Sarenrae's faith. Hamzah is also a wise priest. He doesn't want to make his faith look foolish and tyrannical by forcing it on others. He's going to work with Hajar to create an area to keep prisoners and take some language skills to talk with them. Very hard to redeem when you can't even communicate. Even Sarenrae would expect her priests and paladins to act in a responsible manner and not go around expecting everyone to agree with her teachings, forcing them to do so with violence if they don't. That's not Sarenrae at all. Hajar and Hamzah will put the work in to set up the prison area. Hopefully Akim will help.

Sigh... Shame mark of justice is such a relatively high level spell. For the primary fighter department: I can actually help a little with that; Raj's specialty is summoning, and even if his summons only last for 3 rounds that's plenty of time to do some damage. Also, I'm planning to have Raj use lesser planar binding at level 5 to bargain for the services of a hound archon to be his body guard, and those guys are pretty handy in a melee fight.
Well, on to the statue!

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

You push the statue back to reveal secret steps underneath. These steps lead to the monastery’s undercrypt. A series of ten-foot-wide rough-hewn passages dug in a double-cross formation. The main thoroughfare runs north to south, with two similar east- west passages crossing the main hall about fifty feet apart. An eerie silence pervades the cool subterranean funerary network, which must contain the bodies of scores—if not hundreds—of honored worshipers of Sarenrae in shallow niches carved into the walls of the east-west passages. Many of these skeletal remains have been roughly tossed from their niches, and countless bones and skulls line the floor.
Even a casual look at the remains littering the floor shows signs of the struggle. Some skeletons lie jumbled up against a wall where they fell, their skulls crushed by the blow of a weapon. Many wear the faded orange robes of monastery clerics, often with signs of crippling injures.
Just as you take all this in you hear a magically conveyed message This shall be the torture suffered by those who oppose us
Necrophidius look up the pic this one is in fact an undead not a construct
The soft scrape of bone reveals the long, sinuous skeleton of a large snake, its head a humanoid skull with a snake’s jaws. A closer look reveals that human bones not that of a snake make up the body. Someone took great effort to keep the flesh of the head priest intact on this creature.

Leyli Wildspeaker |

Sorry got busy yesterday, and a nasty hangover. The gnoll doesn't understand common right?
"Are you sure that we're going to let that gnoll help us? He is seeking redemption from his own people. Giving them vital information would offer that."
---------------------
"Why don't we do just like what Gunk said, give it false information and after luring his people there, they might as well do the dirty work to him."
That sucks that Hajar has to leave, they're all just doing excellent roleplay.
--------------------
Onwards to the statue!

Gunk |

GM Dave, do I get the impression that someone has violated this burial site? You know, with the bones being tossed about and such. Are we in 'initiative' so to speak?
If I think this place has been disturbed, Gunk says Someone has violated this tomb!
If I don't think the place has been disturbed, Gunk says Should we be going in there? It seems like entering here would be some kind of violation of their final resting place.

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

Dave, Hamzah does the following in the morning.
Hamzah studies his daily prayers preparing them in his mind and soul. He finds Akim. He places all the parts of Akim's blade together and prays over them. "Sarenrae, mend this blade so that your servant can use it in your name.
Cast mending until Akim's blade is repaired.

Yes and Yes

Hamzah, you know that this is beyond your ability, but you try anyway. Amazingly it works and the blade is repaired!
Dont foget about the 6 hour bless 3 of you can get for praying at the altar!

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

I figured I would give it a try given your cinematic flair. It weighs too much by the rules. Fortunately the DM is kindly when it comes to worshippers of Sarenrae and rangers lacking the weapon their trait gives.
Hamzah prays at the altar and encourages Akim to do the same.
Cool. No reason for Hajar to leave over one incident. We'll give this redemption thing working. It just takes time.

Leyli Wildspeaker |

"Living for such a long time, in this rotten and vile form, forced to stay here inside this dark crypt. To me is worse than death, to me is a curse that needs to be undone."

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

Hamzah enters the room squaring up with the abomination. He holds the Sunburst of Sarenrae up high and unleashes the power of the sun upon it.
Channel Energy: No channel resistance; DC 16 Will save Half; Dam positive energy:1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
"Do not challenge the power of The Dawnflower abomination."

Gunk |

Welcome back Hajar. Let's pray at the statue together shall we? Gmail Dave I was being serious about converting yesterday. How do I go about doing that? It also seems like there was an interlude here where some of us prayed and mended swords. If that is the case, I pray at the statue and don't cast shield till we come back.
Gunk prepares a bomb and throws it at the snake beast.
ranged touch atk: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Leyli Wildspeaker |

Noticing that her companions decided to take the combat in range, Leyli and Furball will go melee,
"Go attack it from behind, I'll take the front!"
Quarterstaff, Flanking: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Bite, Flanking: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
GM how do you feel about flanking? I mean since we don't use maps and AoO's for combat, it would be advantageous to character who rely on flanking especially rogues.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

You guys are doing flanking right. If any character pc or npc has 2 enemies attacking it at the same time it is flanked.
13 damage done
24 total
The creature lashes out at Leyli with its mandibles.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 8 damage to Leyli
The creature bites Leyli and she feels her limbs trying to seize up.
Fort Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
She resists the creatures Magic.

Welcome back Hajar! Lets get to business, shall we?
Round 1, assuming actual casting of SM1 was in pre-round like gunk's shield:
A light flashes and darts from Raj's hand over the other party members shoulders as he completes his incantation. It lands in front of them, growing 4 legs, and everyone can tell right off the bat that Raj is summoning something much bigger than a bird. The light fades, and with a barking war cry a massive dog appears. It gives a guttural growl, and a white nimbus of light forms around it as it prepares to bring death to a being of evil.
Then it catches sight of what that said being is made of...
Charge/Smite/flank Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
(This is bludgeoning and piercing damage)
Raj prepares to cast acid splash, but the weaving of the snake like creature near Leyli and the dog make a clear shot near impossible. Watching the dog tear into the creature though, he decided on a more prudent course of action:
Good Girl!

Hajar nar Jundi |

I'm not actually sure if Hajar is present or not, I am going to assume that Hajar, being upset with the previous day's events took himself to the monastery to meditate and contemplate. He would have then been present to venture below.
Hajar yells For the Dawnflower! as he charges across the room to attack the monstrosity.
attack1: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21 assuming blessed condition, flanking and charge
damage1: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 2) + 4 = 8 slashing

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

piercing from teeth, bludgeoning from crunching. It's a fairly obscure rule, I think I found it in the dragon section of the beastiary that bite attacks count as both bludgeoning and piercing.
I understand that for a dragon because its so big. Wouldn't all slashing weapons count as bludgeon from the impact then? We could rule that DR X/bludgeon means you do half damage with a slashing because you are technically slamming down a thin chunk of metal...Not sure if I like that.
