Akisame Koetsuji |
Yeah in the brief time I used this character, he was in a level nine one shot campaign. He threw everything he fought. Never killed nothing, just threw them. Usually to allies. When he did, it auto provoked from all allies adjacent to it.
My greatest accomplishment was throwing a dragon. The DM laughed for a good twenty minutes trying to picture a Jujitsu move that could throw a dragon. It was quite an amusing and effective style of play.

DM-Salsa, a query regarding my prospective archaeologist-bard and her race:
** spoiler omitted **
Original post here, bumping for the DM’s notice and input. For that matter, I’ve got another question regarding this (possible) PC’s biography:
Noro_Kas |
ok I miss a bit by haveing a RL game.
Noro still here just now taking a look at some of the otehr submissions for possible connections.
but if anyone else has iseas Noro is a life long resident of Sandpoint and also a dock worker. that frequents several several local establishemnts. having worked a bit at the old feedbag, frequents the rusty dragon and knows a bit of the criminal activity around town.
had a couple of run ins with the law as well.
Horatio Aldebrandt |
Connections are easy for this character. Anyone who's been in Sandpoint longer than a couple of days and visited an inn in that time probably would have noticed Horatio performing around the place... and if they're an attractive lady (or a remarkably good-looking gentleman), he's definitely noticed them. :P
Olivius Telraven |
Not many out-of-town folk then. Hmm. Interesting.
I would know of Horatio, even if he doesn't know me because of my caravan and our trading business. I would also be familiar with the local law enforcement and merchants for the same reason. I probably don't know any of the local tricksters though. We wouldn't stay in town long enough.
Kyras Windwander |
Yeah, between us, Horatio, no one who's attracted to men will be able to stand!
Kyras is also unfairly pretty, being a half-elf with nymph ancestry. The dynamic between our characters would certainly be interesting, though, not the least because they're just similar enough to either irritate each other immensely or be the best of friends. One or the other. xD
Victoria A. Ferro |
I've likely been staying in the inn for the day or two I've been in Sandpoint. I'd say, though, that getting a good look at Victoria's face would be difficult what with hoods and face masks and all. By virtue of her charisma, if nothing else, she is quite attractive. In a mysterious sort of way. Though if 'curvy' is your gig, not so much.
Noro_Kas |
Hey, Thirzin would buy her a drink any night. ;) Of course, Thirzin likes to buy anyone who can stand to drink ale some.
Noro will take you up on that offer.
she ain't much to look at normally but she probably cleans up nice...you might want to wear extra armor if you try and force Noro to wear a dress; or you might be coming out with a few bruises and a broken nose.
also I realized she needs a third trait so I am guessing that Iron Liver would seem approriate.
Noro_Kas |
Ha. I'm somehow guessing that Victoria and Noro would get along. Especially since Noro is good, considering Victoria is a not-lawful-stupid-paladin.
Also, I updated Victoria's appearance to give a better description while I was at it.
the only down side is the fact that Noro does have some affiliation with Sandpoint's crime family (something she wants out of, but we all know that there is only one way out...)
Akisame Koetsuji |
Akisame lives in the area but his only been there for a few months. He's kind of a bum and makes money babysitting or sculpting. He's obviously a foreigner but he speaks common really well.
Given his martial artist background, he may be good friends with Noro and he could also be friendly with other LG members of the party.
Victoria A. Ferro |
Having worked with both Muay Tai and Jujitsu martial artists in my time kickboxing, I must say that they are both very respectable arts. Frightening at times.
Also, Noro, sounds good. I'll take a look. I'm thinking classic all black with a hood and face-mask.
Edit: Or white. Color of clothing has almost nothing to do with stealth technically and the white clothing could help hint at the 'holy-assassin' approach I'm taking with this character.
Saroune Anzoletta |
None of you probably know Saroune, since she very rarely stays in one place (she is Varisian, after all), but that's likely to change in the future. She's growing more and more restless every day and the lifestyle of an adventurer really appeals to her. She'd be drawn to other adventurers like a moth to the flame.
Put me down as part of the Chaotic Good Mafia too. ;)
Fernus Stonecall |
Seems like a large group of humans, certainly you'd need a dwarf and a halfling with that right?
If people had done some adventuring in the past, they could have met Fernus in a tavern sometime and told them their story.
Or even have Fernus tag along uninvited on a dangerous mission, scribbling away in his journal as the adventure unfolded.
Lord Charles Iridian Bloodgrave |
I'm crossing my fingers with this one!
Charles is Ustalavian, and his reason for visiting Sandpoint is to document any creatures he finds along his way (having heard of one Legendary one in particular), and to purge the land of everything evil, in the name of both Iomedae and Pharasma.
It's nice when people can know each other from the start of a campaign, but having only just turned up during the start of the Swallowtail Festival, it's unlikely he'd know of anyone in Sandpoint, though one of you did say you had a caravan, or at least travelled with one, so if you look at Charles' back story, if you wanted to you could say that you were the one who pointed him in the direction of Sandpoint.
I'm fine with having him coming in alone though, as that's the type of man he is.
He's confident and sure of himself, well spoken, but not angsty or argumentative, and his manners are pretty fine. He is a dark warrior though. A good guy, just one who has so far kept to himself to focus on his studies, and he might take a liking to Thassilonian symbolism, documenting that also. :p
Victoria A. Ferro |
I just added a picture. And a fun little flavor quote.
Yeah, ultimately Victoria would have just shown up. Likely alone. She has little direction for where she goes, she is literally only driven by a need to destroy tyranny. That's not to say that she's against fun, like a festival perhaps, but she tends to keep to herself.
Unless someone really wants to have a connection with Victoria, I'm going to say she's a total outsider on this one.
Mervyn the Scrivener |
I'd be interested in putting forward Mervyn the Scrivener, a Gnomish Inquisitor of Magdh who has devoted his life to the seeking out of knowledge in order to stave off the Bleaching.
Mervyn's rarely uses the rest of his name, finding that travelling as Mervyn the Scrivener often opens up avenues of knowledge discovery he might have not otherwise been able to take.
4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 4) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 3) = 12
4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 2) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5, 6) = 21
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 2) = 18
4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 5) = 17
Mervyn has come to Sandpoint in search of new knowledge, the insatiable thirst that drives him attracted to the Swallowtail Festival. In his earlier years, Mervyn became something of a scholar in Ancient Thassilon and the chance to uncover some new snippet in a location so close to the ancient empire spurs him on as well.
While in Sandpoint, he shall offer his services as a scribe and repairer of books, no doubt trying to build relationships with the local scribes, spellcrafters and historians.
Description
Mervyn is a grey-haired gnome, odd in one so young, but he rarely complains as he feels it adds a bit of mystery to him. He wears a well-kept scholar's outfit over his armour and usually prefers to walk with his switchscythe, stowing his longbow in the pack saddle of his donkey, Quill.
Personality
Mervyn is an even-tempered gnome, slow to anger and one who usually looks at a situation from all angles before acting. Once he is set upon his course of action, however, it is difficult to move him from it. This is typically not a sign of stubbornness but more a sign that he has thought about his plan and settled on this being the most pragmatic, within the statutes of the law.
Horatio Aldebrandt |
If Horatio gets in, he'll have been performing and staying in Sandpoint for a couple of weeks by the time the campaign starts, and since he's pretty social, he would have seen just about everyone (unless they're antisocial to counter it). Any locals he would have seen, like Noro (who he might have talked to a couple of times). Haha, Kyras, I can see a great dynamic between our characters! "Hey, I'll bet you an ale I can pick up before you tonight..." Though be warned, Horatio will hit on anything that's good-looking and of the humanoid subtype, though that could just make for more hilarity. As for irritating each other or being the best of friends, hell, why not both? :P
If Thirzin lives in Sandpoint, Horatio's probably seen him in a tavern, but not paid a whole lot of attention (dwarf in a tavern? So what's new?) Noro and Victoria on the other hand, as a fine strong woman and a mysterious stranger, Horatio would have paid more attention to. He'd probably have tried to buy them drinks in the past, though I'll leave it up to you guys to decide what the likely outcome would have been. :P
Oh hey, Fernus. I remember you from another RotRL application. Maybe we'll have better luck here! If you've been entertaining crowds in the taverns, you're likely to have been stealing my audiences, so we may have had words about it in the past! :P
I'll also try to find a picture when I get home from work. A quick look doesn't yield many pictures of bards with violins, though...

Heh. I like that idea. Though I like the idea of them meeting in the game, just so we can show their dynamic in its entirety. And yes, Kyras wouldn't mind too much if Horatio flirted at him. He might even play along for a bit. Kyras isn't quite the flirt that his father was, though. He does have some of the same [REDACTED], though. His is a more a method of teasing those who find him attractive, because everyone needs to learn to laugh their embarrassment away. :D

That would be me. I'm a caravan guard for some peddlers, traders, etc that pass by every so often on their route between Sandpoint and the swamps to the east in the Mushfens. If you came up from the south or spent any time with the Frog men then its plausible that you ran into us/me.
Fernus Stonecall |
Hey Horatio, nice to see another familiar face in the thread.
Fernus is not the one for having an argument or a fight (6 Str says it all), however he would offer to play together at an evening. Perhaps we have formed a duo performance at the taverns.
Also not much better picture options for a flute-playing halfling than my avatar.
Changed my Feat to Spell Focus (Conjuration), improved trip will have to wait.
