Victoria put away her bow and nodded to Akisame. "One of the nicked me, nothing that won't heal overnight."

She then began collecting the arrows she had shot, including the one in the still breathing goblin. "What do you plan to do with him?"

First Arrow: 1d100 ⇒ 25
Second Arrow: 1d100 ⇒ 1
Third Arrow: 1d100 ⇒ 60

On 51 or above, the arrow is successfully salvaged.

Only one of her arrows made it through the fight, though. The one she shot last.

I look at the tied up goblin and chuckle. I get down on my haunches and look it over with a smile. "Not really sure. Killing things just isn't my style. He's actually kind of cute in an ugly sort of way. Maybe I'll by a cage and keep it as a pet. Yes that might work. I'll call him Mr. Uggles" I actually seem serious about this.

So much for helping with the rest of the first wave of goblins. :S
Or is it over? Uh, GM, I may have missed something, but I don’t see that anyone took a shot at Goblin #6....

Well, if the first wave is over, Pavanna will drop her Archaeologist’s Luck for the moment (1 round expended, 5 remaining).

Horatio straightens his back, wipes his rapier clean on the goblin's rags, and slides it back into place, hanging at his hip. He keeps muttering under his breath - the lyrics to the song the goblins were singing. Creepy or not, the little bastards know how to write catchy songs.

Shaking his wrists to keep them loose, he turns to the monk when he calls out. "Never better, good sir. Nothing like a bit of music to lift the spirits, eh?" He claps Olivius on one armoured shoulder, grinning. "I must say, that was some impressive fighting. Never quite learned to do that myself, but I suppose that's the difference military training makes."

He turns to Pavanna and says, a little more gently, "And are you alright? I saw them take a few swings at you. Looked like they missed, but one can never be too careful."

Pavanna looks away from the goblin Saroune felled, and the two feet of distance between his head and his neck — This new style of hers may not need too much help from Olivius. I doubt words have been been so effective as literal weapons! — and assesses the fresh gouge in her shield.

“No harm done,” she says curtly, shooting Horatio a dirty sidelong look. This time. But the next time I tell you to ‘stay close’, you bloody well stay close, all right?”

DC10 Sense Motive:
Pavanna is seriously miffed, partly because she’s reacting to the situation like a soldier, not a friend. It’s been drummed into her that one man breaking formation can get every member killed, and Horatio just did exactly that. When she’s sure it’s all clear, she’s going to give him a real earful over this.

"Well what was I supposed to do?" the bard shoots back, eyes flashing. The carefree mask drops for an instant, revealing pride and fury. "I'm sorry I don't have all your fancy military training, but when you grow up a Fronter* you learn to fend for yourself, because there sure as Hell isn't going to be anyone to back you up. So forgive me for not having a head for tactics and formations, but what I do know is this: my own limits. And in case you hadn't noticed, I was right. I skewered that greenskin bastard after all, didn't I?" He stands over Pavanna a few moments, glowering, before a different look comes over his face - regret, mixed with despair. He sighs and steps down, turning away.

"My apologies," he says, calmer now. "It appears we simply come from very different backgrounds - ones that don't necessarily work well together under pressure. Should there be a next time, I shall try to be more mindful of orders. It seems you know best, after all." He sounds calm, but bitter. Gods damn it, I'm not cut out for this.

*Fronter: Someone who lives in Bridgefront or is otherwise poor. Not a polite term and frequently used as a mild (sometimes playful) insult among younger aristocrats and nobles. Connotes dirtiness. I'm good Olivius responds to the status call. He is mildly flustered that neither of his attacks hit home. I hate goblins
He feels a pretty boy's hand on his shoulder, then his pride gets a lashing. Cuse bards and their words. His jaw clenches for a moment. He may not have hit the goblins, but at least he knows his place in the battle. Horatio could have gotten himself hurt, or worse, with his unexpected move. Just a second earlier and he may have been in time to catch Olivius's backhand attack in the chest. He forces himself to speak, to say something, but You're still a limp-wrist. is all he can manage.
Sence Motive: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
He listens Pavanna's rebuke, but misses the tone due to his own wounded pride. Horatio catches it, however, and Olivius bites back his rebuke, leaving the bard in Pavanna's capable hands. Then his mind moves to Saroune. She broke formation too. Suddenly Olivius calls, Saroune, a word, if I may?

"We need to seriously get it together. Especially you, Bean pole. You may have a great time with women, but those green 'uns are about the least vicious thing out there. We either need to toughen up your skin or you need to stay better protected.

He smirks at the group. "Seems that ol' Noro over here ain't the only one great at knocking folks off their feet, though."

The dwarven ranger looks totally shocked, as he looks at what remains of his beer mugs on the ground and spilled beer everywhere. "My beer! I lost all that beer!"

A bit overcome by his loss of the beer, he walks over to the nearest of the dead goblins, kicking its limp body. "Stupid! Little! S*+$s! Causing! Me! To! Spill! My! Beer!" He seems to be more upset over his beer, at this moment, than as to why there were goblins here in the first place.

“You got one of them, and that was a thing well done, I don’t deny that,” she returns, visibly trying to clamp down on emotions running high. “And you may be right about our backgrounds. All of my combat-training has been with others who knew the same choreography I did, and who were conditioned to respond to orders, and I forgot you didn’t have the same trainers. If there is a next time, I’ll try to remember that. I don’t know if I’ll always ‘know best’, as you say, but I do know that our chances of winning a fight are better if we work together, as a team, than as a gaggle of individuals.”

His pride was damaged; he didn't care. It's the same hot-headedness that caused him to fail his audition for the Korvosan theater. :P

The bard glances briefly at the dwarf before sighing, nodding in acceptance. "My combat training was my father teaching me how to fence, just to defend myself from the sick projects of the local Impers." Horatio seems to be calming down further, though he avoids eye contact, instead staring at the ground and fidgeting with his bow. "That was it. No military drills, no formations, nothing of the sort. Just a frightened teen wandering Bridgefront with his dad's spare rapier." His voice trails off ino near silence; he shakes his head, trying to look bright again.

"I heard that little mongrel screaming in Common earlier, when you had him pinned. If he speaks more than just protests, perhaps I could be the one to conduct the interrogation? Providing nobody objects to the use of a small enchantment, just to help things along." He glances at the goblin, before crouching to its eye level. "Of course, if he refuses to talk, we could just kill him now," he says in a sterner tone, staring the creature down.

Olivius nods his head approvingly. You did well. It's relatively hard to strike the head of something. You have to get the angle just so, but I do have some advice as well. You put yourself in harm's way there, stepping up like that. Please try to stay in formation if we get in a fight again. I can't protect you if you're on the front too.

Pavanna says nothing, letting Horatio and Olivius take the lead in ‘chatting’ with the captive, but as she keeps a watchful eye on their surroundings for more attackers, she shifts her sword a little. The light the blade sheds gleams on the emblems on her armour, and reaches up under the brim of her hat to reflect from her horns and strike glints in the depths of her red eyes as she fixes him with a moment’s silent glare. Conflict tears briefly across Horatio's face, but after a second, he sighs and nods. "Alright. I trust you." The words seem difficult for him to say; he hopes nobody will notice in the heat of battle. Damn it all, the things I do for a pretty face...

With that, he swings his violin back into place, wedging it comfortably against his neck, and begins playing again - a louder, faster tune to be heard over the chanting of the goblins.

Talking as a free action. Re-activating Inspire Courage as a standard action. All allies get a +1 to attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws. No move action, unless re-positioning a musical instrument counts; behind the meat shield seems like a good spot to be. Also, I think "arglebargle" is my new favourite word.

The Goblins seem to realize that there's someone trying to stop them. The one on the ground and another try to bury their notched swords into Akisame's leg and back. The monk manages to twist out of the way of one, but can't quite avoid the second. Noro is beset by one of the warchanters and a goblin and receives another cut. Pavanna and Olivius are each targeted by two of the goblins. Olivius taking an arrow in a chink in his armor. The second warchanter weaves a spell into the chant.

"Why did the goblin boil the lake? To make feesh soup!"

Akisame, Noro, and Olivius each take 2 points of damage. Noro, I need a DC 12 Will save or you fall prone in a fit of hideous laughter.

will save DC 12: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

this is most embarrassing

Noro will punch anyone who makes fun of her over this...later

Moving Thirzin to G9 and the ok boy is gonna take a swing at the nasty prone one.

Thirzin chuckles, seeing one head to the ground and he puts his axe blade in a high arc, bringing it down like a guillotine blade.

Slice: 1d20 + 5 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 4 - 1 = 25
Damage: 1d10 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7

For whatever it's worth, the warchanter I shot took another point of damage on its turn.

Upset with how close her arrow had came to making a clean kill, she knew the warchanter would bleed to death in a matter of seconds. She turns her attention to the goblin [Goblin 9] immediately beside it using a normal arrow this time.

Male Human - Tian and Varisian mix 1 Level Monk Maneuver Master

I look at Noro confused. "I really don't think it was all that funny."

I then proceed to grapple and if successful, pin my foe.

Attempt to grapple:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 I think that is successful,

I then attempt another grapple maneuver to pin:1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 5 = 22

Female Chelaxian Tiefling Bard (Archaeologist) 3/Cleric (Iomedae) 1
Quick Stats:
Perception +8, low-light, darkvision 120’ | Init +4 | AC 19/T 14/FF 15 | HP 36/36 (Resist cold 5, fire 5, electricity 5, DR2/cold iron) | Fort +4, Ref +6, Will +4 | CMD 16

Pavanna flinches as the arrow hisses past her shoulder; thankfully, it doesn’t strike any of the comrades behind her, either. Staying here to be turned into a pincushion is a losing game. More fool me, expecting goblins to rush prepared opponents! she gripes to herself. “Olivius, refuse my right*, I’m going after Saroune’s target!”

* Olivius, she’s asking you to move to I-10 and keep Goblin #8 busy (or make him dead). No ‘suggestions’ for Horatio or Saroune, since she’s trusting you to stay close to your respective self-appointed bodyguards and use your judgement about how best to help from there.... ;)

Free action: Maintain Archaeologist’s Luck (2 rounds expended, 4 remaining)
Free action: issue instructions (she really is kind’a bossy in a fight, isn’t she?)
Move action: move from I-7 to J-11 (via J-7)
Swift action: activate Arcane Strike
Standard action: Attack on goblin #11 (since he’s playing meat-shield for War-chanter #1)
Masterwork Longsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 (D’aaargh! *headdesk*)
(Damage roll deleted as unneeded.... >:( )

[Current Status: 20/20] Init +3 | Percep 1 | AC 20/ T 11/ F-F 19 | HP 20 | Fort +6, Ref +1, Will +0 | CMD 17 (19 vs sunder Bardiche)

Olivius grunts as the arrow barely makes it through the padding under the shoulder of his shield arm. Pavanna then speaks and says exactly what was on his mind. He nods, then charges forward, lunging forward with his spear at the end in an attempt to skewer the goblin.

Charge attack to H-10 and attack goblin 8 (as that is Pavanna's right, not goblin 7 as she is facing the bottom of the map. :P)
attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 26
damage: 1d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 = 12
crit confirm: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 = 8
crit damage: 1d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 1 = 9
Oh Finally! A good roll for the main line fighter!
For a total of 21 damage if it confirms, which I doubt. At least the charge was max damage. :D
AC is 19 for this round.

Male Human (Chelaxian) Bard 3
Quick stats:
AC 14, T12, FF12; HP 21/21; F +2, R +5, W +3 (+4 vs. bardic performance, sonic, language-dependant); CMD 14; Init +2; Perc +6; SM +5; Bardic performance 18/18 rounds remaining; Spells 1st-level 2/4 remaining

Horatio rolls his eyes at the goblin's joke. "Really? That's your best material?" He sighs as Noro collapses into a fit of giggles, wanting nothing more than to charge and skewer another of the green bastards. But, "stay close" was the order he was given, so Horatio stays close. Moving up behind Pavanna, he swings his fiddle aside and calls out to the closest goblin, putting on his most winning smile. "Hey there! Care to give us a hand in this mess?"

Continue to Inspire Courage as a free action. Move to J10 as a move action, cast Charm Person as a standard action. Need a DC 17 will save from Goblin #12. It's not language-dependant, so if the goblin doesn't speak common, I can still communicate by pantomiming.
