I know. How many times do you actually want to fail a save. Although I double checked my numbers and my will save is only a +2 like is says in my stat line. I looked at my reflex instead. Is it too late to alter that and have Tal stand there?

I don't really have anything to deal with the charm effect, unless you want me to put Tal to sleep. Then we could tie him up and use him as a meat shield. Getting attacked by the tieflings (who are, ostensively, Vethamer's 'allies') would break the effect. Then we could cut him loose. That's all I've got, otherwise I suppose we have to go on without him.

The GM might allow Mera to try to talk Tal out of it, since she is probably the one who he would most likely listen to. Also, superhumanly charismatic.

I have been thinking about this. Charm Person is not affected by the status of the caster, but since the 'influence' is currently bleeding out on the floor. I am going to allow a diplomacy check to convince Tal to continue the fight and go home after. Of course there will be a penalty since his new friend is bleeding on the floor thanks to all of you.

Tal would not know if his friend is stabilized or not if you use a spell. In this state a simple bluff I would think would be enough to say that he died and can not be restored. Tal will continue to grieve but that is the extent of it.

Fyi I am having Tal not be at the front door right now as he is grieving and there was no immediate threat. Tal saw no reason to open the door this soon into his grief so is staying where he is. As Naberius mentions though if Tal is threatened then he will respond normally to end the encounter to get back to his grieving.

Tal is free to do whatever he wants to after he is attacked, as the charm is broken. I was referring to this part of the spell description, specifically:

I completely agree Naberius. I am just letting the rest know as well what and why Tal is acting the way he is. I want nothing more than Raveen to draw them out to Tal to break the spell but until then...c'est la vie.

Yeah, I was just pointing out that once they attack or threaten Tal there will be no need for us to justify Tal getting into the fight despite being charmed, or worry about him going back into mourning or running back home after the battle is over. The spell effect will be completely gone. Before that happens, Tal's actions are more or less at the GM's mercy.
