Apologies for being away a bit lately. Campground wifi has been extremely lousy, also end of season camper cleanup chores (October 8 is last day), and also I have spent entirely too much time with the new Pathfinder: Kingmaker CRPG since it came out.
There seems to be three options on the table:
1) Try to negotiate with the ettin.
2) Attack the ettin.
3) Go around the ettin (Air Walk to top of dam).
Which one are you doing? Please reply in game thread.

Cadas, Marcellano, Robin (bot)? What you doing in the ettin encounter?
Now that camping season is over and wife and I are home for the winter, I will try to post at least once per day on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and once over the three day weekend (Saturday, Sunday, Monday), so we can move the game along at a somewhat faster rate.

Sorry, I might be confused by your initiative tracker--thought we were waiting on Adolina (who posted) and the ettin to act? What the ettin does might affect my choices! ;)

DM Papa.DRB |

FYI, I am recruiting for a Return of the Runelords PbP. Here is the LINK.

That does sound like fun but I just don't think I have the capacity to take on more games right now. Thanks for the heads-up!

Permission to rebuild Adolina, oh mighty GM? I've just got Heroes of the Fringe and am really liking the Warrior Poet Samurai archetype for elves. I'd like to have a crack at rebuilding Adolina as one and making her a bit more rounded so that the party has a real front liner, rather than just a super sneaky scout - I'll keep a lot of the super sneakiness, but she won't be as one dimensional.
@GM - is that ok?
@Party - think this is a good idea? She'll end up being really mobile but hit a lot harder which I think will be good in the party as it stands :)

Thanks Robin ;) Would aim for WP11, SD6 by the end so would be able to vital strike as well as spring attack and (with Dimensional Agility) use shadow jump to leap into a fight and then get out again. Should work quite well I think if I up the crit range as high as possible and look for other things I can stack onto a single attack each turn.

Cadas |

Sounds like a lot of fun. But it also sounds not too tanky. You have the best AC at the moment.
I am a little surprised that Heroes of the Fringe just came out from the point of view that 2.0 is out and they are still releasing books for 1.0. That said I'll likely buy it, if just for herolab.

Doing the work on it now - Adolina's skills are taking a bit of a hit, but her general tankiness is sticking pretty well.
I do need a GM ruling though.
Moving out of a threatened square usually provokes attacks of opportunity from threatening opponents. There are two common methods of avoiding such an attack—the 5-foot step and the withdraw action.
Whenever a foe provokes an attack of opportunity from the warrior poet, she can move 5 feet before making the attack of opportunity. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity. If the warrior poet takes an action to move during her next turn, she subtracts 5 feet from her total movement for each time she has used this ability since her last turn.
Assume I am using a reach weapon.
So I'm in square 0 and I threaten square 2 (2 squares in front of me). When an enemy moves out of square 2 into square 1 he provokes an attack of opportunity.
Does Petals mean I can step back to square 0 and take a swing at him using my reach weapon (since I am now two squares away again)? If so, does this mean when he tries to move that extra 5 feet to attack me that I can do it again and again until he runs out of move/I run out of attacks?
My thought is that, since movement goes to a specific square, I can step back and strike him, but he'd only move to square 1, meaning only one AAO opportunity for me. There would be no chance for him to move again, meaning no subsequent Petals triggers. If charged by lots of enemies though it could trigger multiple times. What says the GM? I will of course play it as ruled/switch it for something else if asked. :)

I will wait for Adolina to finish her rebuild, before moving on in the gameplay thread. Also, I need specific details on what you intend to do at the double door.
I would like for someone to step up, probably Adolina as she is usually the upfront PC, and after some discussion give directions on what the group is doing.
For this encounter, you know that trolls are in there, trying to hide but failing, and there have been suggestions but no one has said specifically who is doing what. I need more direction so I can move the game along.

Rebuild is done, just about. Still need to stat up Shadowlina (sorry, couldn't resist the pun and Adolina will find it funny!) but otherwise redone and ready to go. :)
Please do look through the alias and take a peek, AC doesn't include her active buffs right now (so AC is 29 atm).
Gameplay post momentarily!

Worth noting, since Shadow Jump takes my standard action (as far as I can tell) I'm going to stick at Shadowdancer 3 and take the rest of my levels in Warrior Poet, lots of attack and HP (as well as more challenge!) Full tank mode will be engaged. For more tanking I need more Dex, more Cha, natural armor and better bracers :)

Cadas |

DM Papa.DRB, I am unsure about your final call on the Sacred Summon Feat with a neutral alignment. I figured it would be better to ask before I summon something. Can you refresh my memory?

DM Papa.DRB |

@Cadas - We compromised, and both gave a little. You can summon neutral creatures (elementals and animals) however your Sacred Summons only gets a single attack instead of a full round of attacks in the summoned round.
@Robin - I have always played and had it ruled, both as a DM and player, that you have to cover at least half of the creature in order for a spell to affect it. This time since this has not been discussed before, I'll leave it for now. However in the future, that will be my ruling.

Heads up, all: I'll be traveling from tomorrow (Sat.) morning until Monday evening. I'll try to check in at least once or twice by phone, but please feel free to bot me if need be!

DM Papa.DRB |

Ok, Robin (+10) and Adolina(+33) get back some hit points. The troll also gets +1 back.
Re: Spring attack, please mention it in combat posts since I won't remember (old ya know!) Same for other special feats / skills / abilities.
Waiting for Marcellano.

Question on using this large trident: Cadas has at least two ways to become large. When she enlarges her gear generally enlarges as well. How detached does she have to to be from the trident to not have it enlarge? Must she actually drop it or set it down? Or might she simply hold it more lightly? I am looking for a way to possible use the trident some.

A message to all my games:
I apologize for disappearing late last week! I am a freelancer and my work has suddenly and unexpectedly kicked into high gear. On top of that, I’m attempting to apply to graduate programs, and most of those applications are due in early January. I was hoping that I could keep up my posting rate, but between work and the holidays I’m clearly going to slump a little.
If I’m a player in this game, PLEASE feel free to bot me if I haven’t posted in a bit. I really appreciate it.
If I’m the GM, I can only ask for your kind patience. I’ll try to post ASAP to keep us moving.
Sorry, again, for the slightly delayed notice. Things should clear up after the next two weeks.

DM Papa.DRB |

@Cadas - You have to either hand the trident off to someone or set it against an object or drop it. That will be a swift action. Taking it back, picking it up, will be a move action.
@Marcellano - Understand. Good luck with the applications and getting into grad school.

Cadas |

DM Papa, I believe dropping an item in your hand is a free action, not a swift. And I agree that by RAW you would have to release the item to not have it enlarge. I was hoping there was some way to not provoke when retrieving it though. I don't mind using a move action, but generally pick up an item, even a weapon, would provoke.
Robin, thanks for the offer. Could Cadas draw a weapon that was on someone else without provoking? Never heard of this before.

I will be unable to post from 12/23 evening to 12/28 afternoon inclusive. Sunday / Monday at the hospital (part time job). Christmas Day is with friends all day, and the next three days are driving to Boston MA (4 hours) and spending it with my wife's brother and his wife. I will not have my laptop, so I do not have my PDFs, notes, macros, etc. with me.
