Wanted to clarify something -- does Segang still have his Earthbreaker hammer? I haven't seen him use it in the IC thread since the butcher shop, and it's not listed in his profile.

Segang |

Yes, he has it. I'll fix that omission. Its master work too...
It was listed in my gear, but not in the Offense section - now fixed.

Cherias the Kitling |

I read over the discussion thread and I saw in the beginning people were discussing their roles, so here goes:
Cherias is useless in melee (STR 7), not terrible at ranged (Dex 14) and will add to the general sexiness and charisma of the party since everyone seems to be pretty good in that department.
He'll be able to heal really well, though, with 2d6 channeling thanks to the aasimar favored class bonus.
One thing I do wish he had was more skills, I couldn't work in a rank in acrobatics, diplomacy or bluff. This might be looking a little far ahead, but I'm considering after 4th level (which is where I'd get to 3d6 channel and 2nd level oracle spells) taking a level or two of Bard to get more skills, more spells, group buffs and versatile performance. I guess I'll see how much the lack of skills hurts during play.

Segang |

Just sooo much synergy with channeling. Stay out of melee so you don't take a lot of direct damage, but you suck up 5 points a round from those that are being hit, and then when you channel you likely heal all that damage off you as well as healing the front line.
My main FPS group has an oracle with this and even at 11th level its keeping us alive. Its at least as good as a +4 con item for everyone in the party.

Melianthe Ssulissien |

Ok, so Demitri had the Loot Doc, and it is Public, so we can still use it.
I suggest that we give Cherias Rosa's share and redistribute the rest. I must have sold something somewhere, because I appear to have gotten 1279 gp, a bunch of which I haven't spent, unless I didn't track things correctly.
We certainly have enough to get a CLW wand and other things as needed...although we have Cherias now. :) Gah, and I have to look up my Magic Missile wand from my iPad Hero Lab...complicated...

Cherias the Kitling |

I would think Rosa and Demitri took their shares with them when they went to where-ever they left for. They didn't die, but IC they went off to pursue other ventures. So Cherias only gets a share of what is earned from this point forward, although I would gladly accept gifts ^_^

Cherias the Kitling |

I could take 10 on Diplomacy and get a 14, which would only be enough to make this person friendly to us if she is already indifferent and has a -1 to Cha. Aid another could get me up to 16 maybe which would cover a +1 cha. However, she's a painter, and maybe I'm getting a little metagamey here, but painter suggests Bard suggests strong charisma to me.
I'm definitely putting a point into Diplomacy and into Bluff next level.

Absinthe Mooneyes |

My home network is down AGAIN! >_<
I have no idea how long this is going to take to be fixed. I'll try to keep up with posting, but please DMPC me if necessary... I hope to be back fulltime soon.

DM NomadSage |

Update on the above from the 'Chase Deck' rules...
As a full-round action, a chase participant can attempt to move two cards forward. When doing so, he chooses two obstacles -- one on his starting card, and one on the next card -- and attempts checks against these obstacles as part of the full-round action.
Hopefully that helps... let me know if you have any questions.

Cherias the Kitling |

I love the chase mechanic, I've run it myself as a GM. Unfortunately my character is just not cut out for it yet.

DM NomadSage |

Segang brings up a good point, though the DCs are straight from the printed module. However, the chase rules as originally presented in this AP were modified in a significant way when they got to the GMG/Chase Cards. That being said, I'm going to 'house rule' this a third and final time (essentially back to the original AP version):
All other rules remain as in the PRD. That will alleviate Cherias's issue, and hopefully make this flow better.
In short, you are only required to roll a skill check if you want to try going more than 1 card. Any questions?

Segang |

I like it. Of course the person we are chasing has the same deal. So while it might not help us catch her, it should help us not fall to the pavement.

Segang |

I'll be on the road all weekend so will not be posting much if at all Saturday and Sunday. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Woot!

Segang |

Cool. Segang will take his third level of Barbarian (to no one's surprise:) )
Hit Points: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Skill points in:
Acrobatics
Diplomacy
Intimidate
Knowledge Local
Knowledge Nobility
Perception
Feat:Cleave
In addition, he now has extreme endurance Fire - One point fire resistance

Absinthe Mooneyes |

I'm taking my first level in Fighter. ^^
Hit points:
1d5 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Skill points:
Disable device
Intimidate
Perception
Feats:
Improved Unarmed Strike
Nightmare Fist
Saves:
+2 to Fortitude
Base attack bonus:
+1
Class features:
Bravery +1
On a related subject; my Will save is... less than spectacular, and that can get to be a problem if we run into an opponent who favour Enchantment tactics. Would our budget stretch for a headband of inspired wisdom yet?

Absinthe Mooneyes |

I just can't wait to use the Nightmare Fist feat for the first time. ^^ Even if it is a bit of a cliché for a Tien-born character to be into a martial art, hee hee.

Cherias the Kitling |

Oh cool! Alright... another level in Oracle, w00t!
Now I have a serious decision to make and I'll ask for input. One concept I had for this character is to take the aasimar-specific feats that makes you more and more angel-like, giving you angel blood and wings and such.
On the other hand, a more practical progression could be to focus on what I can do in combat. Extra channel, Extra revelation to get lifelink and energy body, or toughness to be able to absorb more damage with Lifelink.
Yet another possibility would be to set up a feat chain that would lead to greater flexibility. If I take a skill focus on knowledge, I could later take eldritch heritage (arcane) which would later give me the ability to add additional spells from the sorc/wiz list to my spells known, if I'm reading the rules correctly. This would give me a lot more flexibility in spells.
Any suggestions?

Absinthe Mooneyes |

As far as I recall Eldritch Heritage, it gives you the bloodline abilities of Sorcerer bloodlines, not their spells. I may well be mistaken, though; that particular feat chain didn't appeal to me that much.
I guess the most important question is, which route appeals to you the most. Picking feats that are useful in combat are good, but the game is not only about battles, and we're all here to have fun. ^^

Skills +1:
Bluff

Segang |

I think Absinthe is right. No new spells for you with Eldritch Heritage. Mostly you would gain a familiar. Not all that great for two feats. I sorta like the aasimar-specific feats for total coolness. Not sure they work towards maxing you out for anything though, but that is certainly not the goal. And as an oracle extra revelation is always great. I personally would likely go that way. I hope you never need toughness. If you do the plan has gone wrong. :)

Melianthe Ssulissien |

More Witch for me! I am still away from computer and home state, so I can't update easily....well, I suppose I can hand calculate it. Horrors!
Level 3: Witch!
HP: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Feat: debating between Accursed Hex and Extra Hex. Flight and Prehensile Hair are both fun.
I'm totally taking Vomit Swarm. :)

Cherias the Kitling |

I just found out there's a wondrous item called Pages of Spell Knowledge that give me more spells simply for having them, so multiple feats to get more spells looks less useful by far.
More HP: 1d4 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 2 = 7
1 new level 1 spell known (Shield of Faith), 1 new level 1 spell slot
Favored class bonus: 1/2 level bonus to Channel revelation
New Revelation: Lifelink (w00t!)
Feat: Angel Blood
5 skill ranks:
+1 to Diplomacy
+1 to Bluff
+1 to Perception
+1 to Sense Motive
+1 to Knowledge(history)
I assume we split up the coins we got as a reward?
Sell: studded leather armor 12.5 gp
Purchase: masterwork studded leather armor 175 gp
(I realize I should have had a -2 ACP this whole time because of buckler and armor. So this just gives me what I thought I had already. Anyway, it's needed.)

Flight is just Levitate once a day until 5th level. Flight should be a must, but I think it can wait until 5th unless you have nothing else to take now. And Yes, Vomit Swarm rocks.

100 pp is 1000 gold? So that is 200 each?
Not a huge sum. Segang would like to use his part of it to have Masterwork Transformation cast on his armor. Any 3rd level cleric can cast this. He would seek out a cleric of Desna if possible and Gozreh as a second choice. I do not think anyone in the party can do it.

Or 20 pp...
The spell will cost you 210 gp.

Segang |

No, its permanent. Duration is instantaneous.
So he is paying 60 gold for the cost to cast the spell? That is a little steep. He can sell his armor for 30 and buy new masterwork armor for 210 and save a net 30 gold. He will do that instead of buying the spell if that is ok. If Lamellar Leather is not available he will upgrade to a masterwork chain shirt for a net 220 gold.

Segang |

So then the math is broken in this case. It makes no sense to cast that unless the base cost of the item is over 120 gold. Better to sell the armor and buy masterwork crafted armor if its available.
Is Masterwork Lamellar Leather available for purchase?

Works for a found piece of expensive armor that isn't masterwork, like full plate etc, I suppose.
Or somewhere that good equipment is scarce.

Segang |

Yep. 120 seems to be the break even price. Now if someone in the party knew the spell they might cut a guy a break...

Absinthe Mooneyes |

Well, now that I've got a level in Fighter, I suppose I should upgrade my weapon arsenal a bit.
Anyone got a suggestion for a nice, heavy-hitting, Dexterity-wielded weapon?

Exotic for her. Without an enchantment I think rapier is the best you can do. Scimitar?
Mmm, of course ... I like the visual of Absinthe running around with one, though.
Rapier is probably your best bet. Scimitar also requires a feat to use it with Dex.
Agile enchantment is pretty handy as well.
