I have decided to run Jade Regent as I have more time to be running games. I am currently running 3 games and just threw up another recruitment thread for another game so with that thread and this I'll be running 5. Character Creation Guidelines have been put in a spoiler below.
-Characters are level 1
-Average starting wealth
-Classes from Core, APG, UM, UC, ACG, and Unchained are acceptable.
-Please none of the new classes that were play tested(pathfinders taken on Psionics)
-Standard races would be prefered, but I will consider things from the ARG based on background and strength of argument for why this race should be allowed.
-NO third party publishing sources allowed!
-All other Paizo products will be allowed
-Race traits, feats, magic items, and alternate class features from the ARG are allowed but you can not build your own custom race.
-2 traits one of which has to be a campaign trait from the Jade Regent players guide.
-20 point buy with no stat above 18 or below 10 before racial adjustment.
If you have any questions let me know and I'll get back to you when I can. This won't be first come first serve and to apply I'd like to see more of an outline of the build with a strong background tying you to Sandpoint and the person your trait relates you to. If you want to throw together an alias feel free to do so but its not required for consideration. I want to see more meat than numbers.

Wow two people interested already, wasn't expecting that.
Nohwear: you are correct. Innner Sea Races will be allowed for feats, traits, spells, ect but nonstandard races will not be allowed unless you run it by me. I've been burned recently by letting them into my game and it devolved into a pretty nasty fight so...I'm very leery of allowing non-standard races.

Ooooh! *_* Where have you been all my PbP life?!
I've been looking for a Jade Regent campaign since I started PbP... so oddly enough not very long... but long enough for me to be so happy to see this!!
Fair warning, I started Jade Regent in real life with few friends but life got in the way and we shelved it just before book four. I still even have my character from it that I'd really love to play! So I shall put her together online as soon as I get back from work.

Looking forward to it Timeskeeper. May I also suggest you take a look here if your interested.

Nohwear: Samsarian, Naji, and the other tein race I can't remember off the top of my head are all fine and VERY appropriate here. Thank you for asking.
Oyzar: I will be playing up the NPC relationship part of this AP as it gives so much flavor to the adventure(even though it was clearly ripped off from DragonAge). Obviously as things progress to a NSFW level(books 3, 4, 5, and 6) we will be fading to black but all PG interactions with NPC's will be encouraged.

Awesome :D. Not sure what class I'll go with for this, but something with decent diplomacy for sure...
Are feats from various companion and campaign settings allowed? I generally just use the online available material, which are pretty much all of it, but it's fine to avoid picking up the occult stuff (even if a mesmerist would be perfect for this).

So I have a question for you all. As a way to test how you roleplay which is somewhat popular on the boards these days how would you guys like to try to play through a bit of a prolog to this adventure that I've written and used previously. Everyone interested the game would be able to participate and its just a way to get you all to roleplay while we are waiting for submissions and I can see what kind of players I have on my hands.

Gladly.

It could be interesting.
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |
Dotting and, barring any problems with the character, officially submitting Ulfhedinn Sigmundarson, an Ulfen Two-Handed Fighter. The stats here are for level three, which is where the campaign he was in a few months ago died (literally; TPK). If you're cool with it, I'd like to submit him for your campaign. When I get home from work I'll re-skin him according to your crunch specifications, but the fluff will remain the same.

This is a really great way to test out before the game. I've seen it done with great success quite often. Your the GM so you decide how you chose the players. Either set a cutoff date for when to start trial-RP or just have people head over to gameplay to post once they are done with their character.

Okay with the amount of interst I've gotten I'm going to start a prolog that I've written. Everyone who dots in this thread is free to participate. Please try to be in character when you post as I want to be able to see how your characters mesh. We will be picking up where this leaves off in the game.
It had been another beautiful day in Sandpoint and you all gather in the Rusty Dragon Inn and Tavern to have a drink. The barmaidens tend to you quickly and politely but you notice something strange. For the third night in a row the bar's patron, Ameiko Kijitsu, is missing.

In one corner sits a strange blue man who has identified himself only as Vash. On his should sit a tiny plant woman. Ever since Shalelu Andosana dragged his bloodied and broken carcass here, about a week ago, he has spent most of his time chatting up the locals and absent mindedly drawing pictures of a strange culture in his note book. He looks around the bar then mutters to the plant women in a strange tongue.

I believe I would be interested.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jade Regent is one of the APs with a mini-game mechanic going on, right? A trade caravan? Are you going to be using that mechanic, or handwaving it? I don't know anything about it, but I'm familiar with the ones in Kingmaker, S&S, and Hell's Rebels, so I imagine it is similar.
As this one has a more Asian flavor to it, you made it clear the eastern races are good choices. Same thing with eastern classes? But starting in Sandpoint, I've always wondered if the willing suspension thing needs to happen, because you'd hate to multiclass out of a western class, just to fit in as the theme becomes more eastern.
Anyways, dot for interest.

To the scale mail wearing half-elf who just entered the establishment followed closely by a young tigress that attracted more than a few nervous gazes, the Rusty Dragon Inn and Tavern was the heart of Sandpoint. It was the place he came to rest and unwind, especially after he came back from trainin with his mentor, Shalelu Androsana.
Those last three nights though, his visits to the inn hadn't allowed him to relax as usual, for Ameiko Kaijitsu hadn't been seen or heard, and as agreable as was her establishment, without it's lovely proprietor, it lost its very soul. Besides such a long absence was unusual, and he was beginning to worry seriously. As a barmaid passed by the table he chose to sit at he waved her close.
"Excuse me, has there still not been any news of Ameiko whereabouts? It has been a few days since I last saw here, and this absence is not like her."
The character is a half-elf Oracle (Ancient Lorekeeper & Spirit guide) with the Student Survivalist trait and the Primal Companion revelation of the Lunar Mystery

I forgot to spell out that "Vash" is a Samasrian Shaman whose main spirit is Ancestors. His spirit beast is a petrifern. His campaign trait is rescued by Shalelu.

Ah, lovely Jade Regent
Would you be ok with a Changeling?
The idea is that she's a daughter of Peg O'Ness, a Sea Hag living along the coast in Sandpoint's general area (the Lost Coast). She'd have been dumped on Koya's doorstep by the people the hag planted her with as they had realised the child was a Changeling. As such she'd have the Foster Child trait.
At the start of the game she would have recently started to hear the Call and would be eager to leave Sandpoint behind.
Derric |
Alright, Derric my Kitsune Cavalier is ready! Here I go! And I can alway change my character to something else if you don't want me to play a kitsune cavalier.
Wearing a long sleeved tunic and leather pants along with a pair of sandals, in addition to a worn out belt that his adopted father had given him, Derric had wandered into the Rusty Dragon Inn, whistling to himself a tune Ameiko had taught him when they were children. As he sat down at the bar, wagging his tail, awaiting to see his childhood friend, he noticed the atmosphere wasn't as lively as usual. This caused his tail to stop wagging, as his gut was telling him something was wrong, and as Ameiko always taught him, listen to your gut instincts.
"Where is Ameiko? This isn't like her one bit," the kitsune thought to himself.
He turned and looked around, sighing a little. He started tapping his finger against the bar, getting anxious and worried as time dragged on. The thought of something happening to the person he had fallen in love with terrified him at nights. He motioned to one of the barmaids, saying, "By chance have you seen Ameiko today? I was hoping to talk with her about helping her around the Rusty Dragon. I know we've had a good bit of new travelers passing through town and I thought I could lend a hand."
Most people in Sandpoint knew about Derric and weren't a bit unnerved by the sight of a walking and talking two legged fox around town (although some still were), and the barmaids knew that Derric would drop by and aid them and Ameiko in running the inn.
