After 10 days of construction:
Kalig - Altar is fully constructed, Kitchen is now under construction
Fendir - All materials assembled and construction is begun on North Wall.
Dorick - Stall construction is 1/4 finished
Francoix and Soraya can still make their next 5 downtime rolls to continue their projects. I will wait for them before making a Gameplay post with full updates.

I still need to make my skill checks which I will do in the morning. She's going to take a "day off" to do her praying so I'll roll four checks.
Thanks for waiving the fee for now. Hopefully we can come up with things that make sense but are balanced as we go along.

2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Also, I just finished putting together a general calendar to better track the campaign events and passage of time.
After the first 10 days of construction, the date is now the 7th of Gozran.
Since this is the Golarion equivalent of April, this places us in mid-spring.
By a fortuitous coincidence for Kalig, Gozran 7th is actually Currentseve, a holiday dedicated to Gozreh.
I did not even plan this; I just happened to notice this when I thought to myself, "I wonder what Golarion holidays occur around this time of year."
I would definitely call this a good omen.

Here's my downtime checks, including goodberry distribution:
For Labor:
Survival: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 9 + 2 = 23
Survival: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 2 = 13
Survival: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 9 + 2 = 20
Survival: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 9 + 2 = 29
For Goods:
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 11 + 2 = 16
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 11 + 2 = 17
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 2 = 14
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 11 + 2 = 17
(Again, counting one less day for her communing with Gozreh day. If that IS a holiday she can also lead any prayers for anyone else who wants to join in. Fortuitous indeed!)

profession cook Earn goods: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 2 = 21 2 goods only one needed
profession cook Earn labor 3: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 = 26 2 labor,
profession cook Earn labor 4: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 2 = 24 2 labor
profession cook Earn labor 5: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 6 + 2 = 19 1 labor
Seems like im just missing 2 labor. Could we just pay personal gold to complete it?

Not worried about offense, per se, but I don't want to make her too combative such that it's hard for folks to work together. She's just a brat is all. :)

Fendir Tang |

Posting this to all my games, so sorry if you see it multiple times:
This week both my office and I personally are going to be moving. It's been crazy busy and I am not going to be able to post until Monday at the earliest. Please bot me if I am in your game, and if you are in a game I am running, I will get a post up as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.

Fendir Tang |

So I am posting from work:
Apologies about not posting sooner, but I have been down internet wise for roughly a week, and will not have internet back up yet for a week or so.
This means that I haven't had internet for the last 4 days (as we had 4 days off at my work for the holiday).
It's been...an experience where I learned that I use the internet more than I thought I did.
With all of that being said, I will try to post from work as I can, but if I am in your game, please bot me as needed.
If I am running your game, please bear with me while I try to post when I can. Hopefully, sooner than better, but I want to be up front about this issue.
again, I apologize about the delay.

I am posting this to all of my games, so apologies if you see this multiple times:
Unfortunately, I have some bad news.
A combination of work-related stuff has lead to me having to take some time off from the forums. I am, in all honesty, going to need to be gone for several months, as I am going to be travelling for extended periods of time (weeks or more) and I'll likely not have good access to the internet.
As I am not someone who would want to have you all sit and wait for me here, I am going to be withdrawing/closing all of my open forum games.
I want to thank everyone who I have had the pleasure to game with over the last couple of years here, as I have immensely enjoyed my time on the forums, and hopefully, once my work stabilizes, I will be able to rejoin the community.
Thank you again for your time and energy, and I am sorry that I won't be able to keep things moving forward in any of the games that I am running.

Well, while perhaps unorthodox versions, we have the more or less "expected" makeup of warrior, skillmonkey, divine caster, and arcane caster. We could be fine as we are.
On the other hand, I'd be curious about inviting Lena's player to rejoin. I think they were overwhelmed at the size of the party and the skill overlap at the time they departed, and the rapid posting rate, all of which has resolved more or less. We could use a bard and another backup caster.
If we want to find a fifth party member likewise just in case anyone else has to go that isn't a bad idea either. All I'd ask is that if there's open applications, we can vote on the GM's short list or something like (I've been in games where a GM recruits a member without consulting with the existing party and it has created problems).

Sir Dorick Granstead |

We could use more lores I think. And a bard would certainly help in that regard. I'm certainly open to contacting Lena's player about the game, or selecting who might be a good fit.

DM Vayelan |

I will reach out to Lena and see if they would like to rejoin the game. If not, then I can make a recruitment post.
However, I would also like to hear Francoix and Soraya's thoughts on the matter before moving forward.
Also, if it comes to recruiting a new member, then we can certainly vote on the short list. I agree that it is important to be as sure as possible that the new member will work well with the rest of the party.

Francoix Delacouis |

I am never a help in such matters :P I am okay with recruiting, im okay if we dont. In general i am a more the merrier type, especially in PBP's as it seems the grind of life almost always leads to drops, delays or whathave you. Same thing for kinds of charectors, ive always preferred people play what the want worrying about roles sometimes leads to well people being meh about their charector and Kalig is right we basically have all the typical roles covered anyhow, so if we recruit, who we recruit is just gravy on top, or icing on the cake if you will.

DM Vayelan |

I contacted Lena's player, and since they are trying to cut back on games and focus on RL matters, they will not be rejoining us.
Someone else we could reach out to is our resident NPC painter, Seraphina. Looking back at the original recruitment thread, I am reminded that their player, Gilthanis' initial character pitch was a bard. Perhaps Seraphina has merely been masquerading as a common painter?
If Seraphina does not want to be promoted from NPC to PC, I could then go back to the original recruitment thread and see who among our original applicants might want to join in.

Kalig |

Hey folks, I'm posting this here because y'all are a great group of players:
I am running a Skull and Shackles PBP here on the boards; it's been going for a good three and a half years, a little slowly paced, but steadily moving forward. We have just lost a player (actually lost a player, found a replacement, and then the replacement had to pull out). We're currently in an impromptu sandbox interlude between books 2 and 3; characters are level 7. We're looking particularly for some variation on damage sink/ranged support/arcane caster--not all at once of course, but those are the roles that would be especially helpful. The game's feel is more much more heroic swashbuckly than grimdark. I expect players to try to post once every day or two, and give me a heads up when they are unable to post for more than a few days.
If you might be interested in applying and have the time, please PM me and I'll provide further information. I do have several restrictions on allowed classes/materials (in part because of when the campaign began). Thanks.
Sorry for the derail, back to your regularly scheduled messages.

Seraphina Newton |

Hey y’all. I’ll be joining and upgrading to a full fledged PC. I got called up to the majors, woohoo. So. My original pc conceit was a dwarf brewer and smith. Or I could make a sorceress or bard with Seraphina.
Thoughts all?

Kalig |

Awesome! I agree, either could work really well. Alchemist for dwarf brewer or one of the d10 classes with one of the drunken themes? I like the crafter and build potential for the dwarf. On the other hand, the party is already familiar with Seraphina, and the class options for her also work well. I really like both ideas.
