I’d say about 75-80% done. Mind giving a quick once over.
After a quick review, the one issue that I noticed was that under "Languages" you only had "Galt." Besides Common, the other frequently spoken language in Galt is Hallit. Other good language choices might include Vudrani or Tien, perhaps learned as Seraphina studied exotic foreign art.

Weekly checks work for me for building. IIRC Kitchen was halfway done. So need to finish that. (The "Kitchen" will be her whole house--a one room house with fireplace and a cot in the corner.)
After that, next project is Stall for Matilda. (I said pen in my in-game post, but "mechanically" item desired is a Stall.) She just wants a 6-8 square one, for the donkey and related storage for her.
Earnings gp, Goods, or Labor +8
Create 6 Goods, 1 Influence, 5 Labor (250 gp); Time 16 days
Size 6—16 squares
Upgrade To Habitat
A Stall is a place to keep 1—2 horses or other Large domestic animals. It contains gates, feed troughs, feed, and straw.

ummm... I think I'm selling alchemical stuff to build up money/materials to build an alchemy lab. I'm just gonna make some alchemy rolls here and someone can hopefully tell me what else I need to do :)
alchemy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
alchemy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
alchemy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
alchemy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
alchemy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Seraphina: I don't believe there are any human traits that provide that benefit. Putting ranks in Linguistics might be your best bet for gaining languages.
Kalig: You are correct. All capital is assembled for your "kitchen," and it is just a matter of time to complete its construction.
.....
As part of the streamlining process, I will rule that if you abstain from Earning Capital while constructing a room/building/project for which you have already spent the needed capital, it will reduce the build time by 25%. This would reflect focusing on the current project, rather than dividing your time between construction and helping with other projects.
As an example, Francoix has just finished earning and spending the needed capital for the "Bedroom" module that represents his and Noemie's cabin, and the formal construction has begun. If he continues to Earn Capital during construction (e.g. using Profession: Baker or Cook), the cabin will be done in 20 days. If he focuses entirely on construction, it will take 15 days instead.
Besides the mechanical aspect, this may also incorporate an RP element, too. Whether you focus on your own projects or take time out to help others (represented by Earning Capital with skill checks) may also affect your neighbors' attitudes.

DM Vayelan |

Here's what I need from each player:
Dorick: You're good.
Francoix: Are you focusing on constructing the cabin or splitting time between that and earning capital? If so, what is your next project?
Kalig: You're good.
Soraya: Since your Stone Shack is completed, what is your next downtime project?
Seraphina: What is your first downtime project?

Seraphina Newton |

He first thing I would want/ need to build is a shack. I want to spend the extra goods/labor to make it a stone shack instead of a wooden one.
SHACK 3 goods 2 labor 100 buyout.
This no-frills wooden shelter contains a simple table, pallet bed, and stool. One person can build a shack with simple tools and basic materials. For an additional 1 point of Goods and 2 points of Labor, you can construct a brick or stone hut instead of a wooden shack.
What roll do I make, just a profession painter roll?

Kalig |

Forgot, need to build an outhouse or something at some point. I think we'll call that a Pit that she can probably dig herself. 2 days labor. Eventually put a shack over it.
(I realize we probably don't really need to worry about such things, but I'm mindful of keeping the spring unsullied. :) )

@Francois- yeah, the -50 wind chill was pretty damn brutal. Although there's a certain thrill I feel when taking out the garbage, and I can make it to the end of my driveway and back, and think "I made it! I'm alive!"

Okay, after spending the week kicking around some ideas, I think I have a better handle on how we'll handle the Downtime rolls now.
For each Downtime week, if you want to Earn Capital, you will roll your chosen skill check (i.e. Craft, Profession, Handle Animal, etc.). We'll divide the result by 2, and that will determine how much Capital you earn for the week.
So, to complete our first Weekly Downtime phase, I need a Profession (Painter) check from Seraphina, and a Profession (Cook or Baker) check from Francoix.

Seraphina Newton |

painter: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
So to create my stone shack, I would need to generate 50 gp worth of goods/labor capital total (30 in goods and 20 in labor). So once I have made “50” I’m good?

Actually we're using the Earning Capital portion of the Downtime rules where, essentially, for every 10 points of your skill check, you earn a point of capital. Of course, each of those rolls normally represents a day of work, but we're trying out weekly rolls to streamline things.
With the method I came up with to calculate things, your roll for the week would provide 13 points of Capital. That means you secure the materials, tools, and help needed to complete your stone shack by the end of the week.

Dorick is trying to build the start of a militia, and an actual barracks might help with that in his view.

For kicks and giggles, I drew up in CC3 what I sort of imagine Kalig's homestead and shrine will look like when all is finished. Obviously it's got a bit of a ways to go, but I thought I'd share.
If anyone wants one let me know. I do this when time arises so I warn in advance it may take awhile.

DM Vayelan |

Ah, makes sense. So should I say what’s what (labor/goods/influence), or is it all generic?
I automatically spread out the capital evenly while ensuring that you got what you needed for your current project. Going forward, if you want to specify how you want to allocate the earned capital, you certainly can. Otherwise, I will simply assign it based on what your current project needs and what future projects will likely need.
Also, good work on the mockup, Kalig. My next illustration project is creating a layout for the settlement.
.....
For the next week, I have Dorick's roll. Kalig, Seraphina, and Soraya, you guys can make your next week's roll along with what your next project will be.
Francoix, when you get caught up, can you give me two rolls?

Kalig |

Thanks!
Kalig's first project is dig a pit for a latrine, which she can do herself. Mundanely I think that's like 2 days' labor and 20 go if she's working on it herself? Alternatively, I think she could use expeditious excavation to create it. Let me know what you think.
Next project is Matilda's stall, which would start that week and take another week and a half to complete
Knowledge Nature: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Sorry for the lag. Its funny to me how for 39 years life ive been the epitome of health, this last winter i think im trying to catch up of all the sicknesses i've missed throughout the years.
Hydrated, unfevered, working on catching up. :)
profession cook roll 1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
profession baker roll 2: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

DM Vayelan |

Kalig: Making use of Expeditious Excavation, digging a latrine is a trivial matter that you accomplish during the week alongside using your skill check to earn capital. Also, kudos for giving thought to such an essential need that might have been overlooked.
Francoix: I'm sorry to hear about your health plight. I'm glad you're feeling much better.
To complete this latest week, we just need a capital roll and project from Seraphina since she's already finished constructing her initial home.

Kalig |

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Francoix!
Looks good!
And I'd like one of Dorick's budding military compound. :)
PM me a description or a link to a rough sketch and I'll work on it. :)

Well, I realize in most RPs we don't really have to worry about where we pee, but it occurred to me that she'd do all she can to keep the spring from getting contaminated--indeed, part of the reason for turning the area into a shrine is to also be sure there's at least one water source in town people are unlikely to muck up. :) Kalig's a rather pragmatic holy woman.

Seraphina Newton |

1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20
8 (?) points left over from previous check.
Seraphina will start building another shack for anyone that still need one (NPC or PC)

DM Vayelan |

To clarify, Kalig's building about a 6 square stall (not a large stable). Not a whole lot of room for many creatures--Matilda is only Medium sized, yes, but there also needs to be room for troughs, tack, etc.
Oops, my bad. For some reason, I erroneously thought each Stall component accommodated 6 animals.
Dorick and Kalig's stalls each accommodate their own animals, and maybe one other (perhaps belonging to our former PCs).

Sir Dorick Granstead |

One for everyone in the audience! ;)
Dorick has no issue with stabling more animals, so long as Caragus isn't crowded out.
Apologies for the delay, a busy week or so!

To all my games, two pieces of news:
1) I'm currently job hunting, though that is going well. That said, I might have less free time than usual.
2) I'll be at a gaming convention this weekend, so I'll likely be less active online.

quick update: I have to travel for the next few days (3/11-3/15) and I'm unsure of internet access. I'll do my best to check in when I can. Please bot me as needed.

Just a heads up, Had to have surgery on my shoulder Friday. It was "minor" but im one handed for a few weeks. Typing one handed is certainly more annoying than i had thought it would be. Sorry if im slower responding than usual. This last Winter has been the worst ive had *lawls*

I'm glad you're back with us, and I'm especially glad that the surgery went well.
Take your time as you recover. We understand, and we support you.

I had been dealing with what i thought was a pinched nerve for a few weeks or something. It turns out well it was a pinched nerve, but pinch because of a partial dislocation that was well now healing that way so they had to go in and fix that. Its what i get for being well stubborn about hospitals. oh well
